WEBUI: Login Page Completely Blank - WebCenter Content

Hi,
I'm having a problem connecting the WEBUI to IFS1.1.9 on my Suse Linux 7.2 server. When I access the page it is completely blank!! All other services appear to be running OK (ie: FTP, Windows Explorer Drive Mapping etc).
Has anyone encountered this problem before?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Colin

Do you not receive an error message? Have you checked for errors in the Web server log?

None of the log files indicate that anything is wrong.

Jinitiator FRM--99999 Port Error

I am trying valiantly to implement jinitiator within my company, but have run into a little snag. I have implemented jinit11718 with very few problems. It does not appear to work very well with IE40, so we are upgrading all pc's to IE50. Now one PC with IE50 is getting the following error:
FRM-99999: Cannot connect to Port CTI05:9000
I realize that 9000 is the default port for the forms server, but that is now how the file is configured. I cannot figure out why it is not reading the information out of the file. It is only on this one PC. Everyone else is working fine. They are all reading the file off of the same server. The only other time I have encountered this, the solution was to upgrade to IE50. Has anyone else encountered this, and do you have any suggestions on how to fix it? De-installing and reinstalling jinit didn't fix it, neither did clearing out the browser cache, rebooting, etc. Help!!!
Thanks in advance,
Candi

Candi,
Have you solved this problem?
I'm having it too.
I know my forms server is up but it's saying it can't connect.?
No, I haven't figured it out yet. Every now and then it is occuring on my computer also, but when I close and reopen the browser, it clears up. This is not the case with the other PC. BTW, reading my first post, it should say that that is NOT how the file is configured, as opposed to that is now how the file is configured. Anyone able to help out there?
Candi,
You will need to do a little more digging.
When you click on the URL to load the form the HTML will load in the browser window.
Right click on the area around the java region and choose 'view source', the entry for serverPort is the value that will be passed to the forms server.
If that value is 9000 then you need to do a little more investigative work to find out where the file is being picked up from, cache, local, different drive map etc etc. If that value is not set to 9000 and is the correct value then - congratulations, you have found a bug (possibly) and should report it to Oracle support.
You should also check that the server you mention (CTI05) is a valid server (stupid I know, but I've done it) and that it actually has a functioning listener running on that port.

The file that is being read by that PC is the same file that everyone else reads. This is the only machine that is having this connection problem. CIT05 is my production DB server, the port that is in the file is 6669, which is defined on the server and everything is running properly. I am loading the htm file off of a Unix box, so I edited it myself. The fact that only one PC out of approx. 100 that have gone over to Jinitiator is having a problem is what concerns me. Any other suggestions?
Candi
Is the PC's networking setup correctly ?
Does it know who CIT05 is ?
Maybe it only knows who CIT05.domain.com is ?
Are you using HOSTS or DNS ?
Does the HTML loaded in the browser actually have serverPort=6669, I know you typed it on the server, but is that what the browser is seeing ?
I've encounterd a simular problem today when making a change to the use of IE-windows. Before we simply opened IE4/5 or Netscape and type the URL to start webforms. It would run without problems. By request of the customer this has been changed.
The URL is now called from another window which opens a new window with some javascript ("window.open (...blah..blah...)"). No problem so far for netscape but IE4/5 won't start webforms anymore.
First it will show the developer server logo with a yellow bar stating "Warning: Applet window" and after a while it shows a forms-window saying "FRM-99999: Failed to connect to server splotr01:9000". The port it should use is 7000 though (as stated in the (dynamic)html-file). It will give this error on 3 different servers (development, test and production-to-be) which are on 2 completely different networks.
Seems like IE4/5 cannot handle windows which are not started like a "normal" window. Anybody notice this as well?

Downloading problems with webui and IE 5

Hi all,
I've just recently installed IFS 1.1.9 on Windows NT and using the Apache HTTP server. It was working brilliantly for the first day but since then IFS won't let me download or open any Word document files without the web-browser's silver "You must log in" dialogue box.
I have a feeling that something, somewhere is not verifying my user name / password when I log in using the Standard WebUI login screen.
I've tried this on other people's machines (running the same browser and logging in as me) and it seems to work fine.
Can anyone possibly shed any light on this at all.

Hi,
we have the same problem.....
Any ideas???
Best,
Thomas
Hi,
we have the same problem. We think the cause is Office 2000. We had some computers with Office 1997 and IE 5.0 which work without any problems. Then we upgraded this computers to Office 2000 and IE 5.5 and it didn't work anymore.
Netscape works all the time...
Any ideas?
Martin
The problem is caused by Office2000 not to share its WebDAV session with Internet Explorer and has been reported to be solved after Office 2000 SR1a is installed.
(This issue is now documented on Metalink under OSS195978. Please contact Oracle Support Services for more information.)

FRM-92120 Registry.dat is missing

I've web deployed forms on 9i Application Server. Users are either using Windows XP and IE 6.0 or Windows NT 4.0 and IE 5.5.
A user using NT 4.0 and IE 5.5 has got the following error when they tried to access the url:
FRM-92120 Registry.dat is missing
Yet other users with the same platform and version of IE are able to access the webforms OK.
I've checked that the registry.dat file exists on the server - it does and in the correct location.
Does anybody know what might cause this error?
Thanks in advance
Do other user on NT get it to work ok?
If you are running the SAME application on the SAME app server and the SAME JVM/Browser and the SAME workstations (i.e.NT) are also working and its only this user then I would suggest looking the proxy settings.
This error could indicate that the security on the PC is set in such as way as its throwing this up...
Check that first.

I am also experiencing the same problem, Help required urgently!
Hi Guys:
I found a simple solution for this problem, but i don't know the real reason for that.
Simply if you have any internet connection, Remove it. and everything will running smooth with you.
Do it, and inform me if it's work with you or not.
Thanks

I am accessing my forms application using web/internet, so I cant really disable internet connection. r u using application on intranet on your local lan.
thx
Yes, I'm using LAN to access my forms.
Thanks
I am also getting the same error. Was working perfectly two weeks back then suddenly - the error message!!
I am on LAN. Can I add a trace path or debug to the browser or something?
I am running Windows XP with Developer 10g (9.0.4.0.19) and IE 6.0 and have this same problem. I am trying to run the form locally from Forms Builder to test the form. The file exists in the same location as the error tells me is does not. Even the case is the same.
Hi
I am trying to run Developer 10g locally on windows 2000 professsional. I am getting the error registry.dat file missing when its existing int the exact path. kindly help
Our users were experiencing this problem. It was related to the proxy exception list that our web browsers were using.
In IE6, Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced (Proxy Server Settings) > Exceptions (bottom of screen).
Ensure that these are set correctly, the browser may be trying to look out on the internet for the URL your web deployed application is running on, as it is not in your proxy exception list.
I'd be interested in knowing if this resolves the issue for you, it's worked for us.
Jayesh Kavia
For those who aren't familiar with the proxy exception setting, you can put wildcards into this exception list:
localhost;127.0.0.1;*.20;*.oracle.com
..etc
add to this the application server that your client is trying to access and it should resolve the issue.

Running a windows or unix server?

HFM Installation Problem

I am trying to install FM on my laptop. It has windows XP professional installed on it.
The full message is: "There was an error retreiving the user management project list. Please verify a project exists."I get this error when I try to create HFM application from windows HFM desktop.
This is from a new install, and I'm new to the product.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
Hello,
I'm recieving the same message. Have you made any progress on your issue?
Thanks
I am still stuck. I am trying to install 9.3.1. Which version are u installing?
Do not enter anything for the Domain name in the Logon parameters and enter the username and password and it should work.

you'll struggle to get it running on XP Pro. you need a server based OS for FM app server

Page not found error

Hello All,
we are having this error "Page Not Found" 2 out of 5 times. we are connecting the application server thru VPN.
anybody has any thloughts what could cause the problem. whenever we are having the problem we are able to ping the OAS server.
any response will be appreciated.
Please tell us about the type of OAS and version.
Also check what do you see in your application.log and apache error files.
AMN
The version of the OAS is 10.1.2.3 for Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.4
where can we see the application.log file? i do not see anything like that but in the apache error log file ther is nothing unusual entries.
You mean that sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't?
How many users access this page? Also what is the characteristics of your server (ram, cpus)?
Greetings.
