'No Sim Card/No Signal' after flashing Stock ROM - (IMEI IS NOT GONE) - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

First, I rooted my device, then i flashed 'TWRP-r20' recovery and flashed 'Lineage OS 15.1 - 20180422 - UNOFFICIAL - sanders'.
Everything was working fine except i couldn't CALL to anyone, So i flashed 'PixelExperience_sanders-8.1.0-OFFICIAL' and everything was same as "Lineage OS", NO INCOMING OR OUTGOING CALL,
I was getting 'Call Ended' Error.
So i decided to flash ORIGINAL ROM via fastboot.
When i booted up the rom there's no signal, after completing setup, i checked it wasn't detecting any Sim Card.
Now i have Original ROM with 'NO SIM CARD' error.
And I tried to Search Network 'Manually' and 'Automatically', both didnt work.
What to do now?

Is your network Volte?
Did you took backup after installing TWRP, if you have backup of efs and persist, most likely you'll get back your Volte on restoring.

I have the same issue but i find solution
Step by step:
1. Flash TWRP.
2. Flash Pixel Experience rom if we haven't flashed yet.
3. Turn on phone with flashed rom to obtain network signal
4. Here we will get the IMEI and only have 3g signal, so we need to restart the phone in bootloader mode and type in fastboot "fastboot erase modemst1" and "fastboot erase modemst2", and reboot again
5.turn off and into recovery, go to buckup and Select only EFS and save in your sd card
6.flash rom stock, and turn on your phone
7.turn off and get into recovery, restore your buckup
8.reboot

New Discoveries:
Problem of "Unable of Call OR Receive Call AND SMS" is ONLY IN JIO SIM CARD, I tried Airtel SIM and Its working fine, BUT Network is getting Disconnected frequently on its own EVERY FEW MINS.
The Problem of Not be able to CALL OR SMS is because now "Enhanced 4G LTE" option is GONE in Stock ROM.

My phone was not detecting the sim card after I flashed a bad radio (NON-HLOS.bin) from the wrong stock rom.
You need to be careful when flashing stock roms to make sure you have the right model and region.
Here's what I did, I hope it helps:
First find out the correct model, mine is XT1805 (Europe, dual sim)
Download the correct stock firmware for your region and model. I can't post links but ALL regions available in "https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/sanders/official/"
Once you have the correct stock rom, extract "NON-HLOS.bin" and "fsg.mbn"
Flash using fastboot:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
This got me back to the sim card being detected. I still don't have cell network on stock rom, but at least the sim is detected again

[Q] Dead Moto X 1097 AT&T

I will be honest wit you people, I really mess up on my phone.
I was trying to upgrade to lollipop on my AT&T moto X.
I miss the step that I need to unlock my bootloader, so I just came directly to install the pure edition Brazilian rom.
When the phone restart I notice that my phone was not reading my simcard, and It is because my EFS file was deleting and Now I dont have IMEI...
Unfortunately I did not backup my EFS file.
Now my radio is not working, I did already search on all the webs a solutions but I with no luck.
Can anybody help me please!
How did you flash the ROM? Via fast boot? If that's the case you only mess with the modems. Try to download the firmware of at&t and flash the modem and the fsg files. Same happened to me when I converted my Moto x 1097 to 1095. Is not that bad just try my guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-xt1097-to-xt1095-nextel-t2972693

How did you update then? Side load update? The problem you have is the modem as I said, nothing more
here is the firmware 4.4.4 of AT&T http://pan.baidu.com/wap/link?uk=3927248220&shareid=4222363237&third=0 unzip the file and try to flash the modems via fastboot, that should be enough.

Do you have knowledge of fatboot and bootloader ? in that case unzip the file of your firmware in the same carpet you have the adb and fastboot files, be sure your phone is on "USB debugging mode" and plug your phone to your PC (phone must be power on), then type
adb devices (to see if the phone is recognized)
adb reboot bootloader (to reboot into bootloader)
fastboot devices (to see if the phone is recognized in fastboot, because sometimes it doesnt)
fastboot erase modemst1 (delete the old modems)
fastboot erase modemst2 (delete the old modems)
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin (flash the modems of your phone model)
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn (flash the modem of your phone model)
mfastboot reboot
After the reboor you will have signal again after a couple of minutes, and of course your IMEI is back too.
hope it helps

I found the at&t modem NON-Hlos.img but I can't find the fsg fsg.bn. and the first one is not working.
could you please be so kind to tell me where can I find those files please
RESOLVED!!!!
OK, let me tell you what I did.
I follow the steps that you gave me but it did not work.
Then I tryed installing the at&t room but it just mess more the things, because when I reboot the phone it went straight to the boot loader, and I was not able to turn on the phone. at this time I was really scared xD
so I create a new folder with the at&t room and the fastboot.
open fastboot and start flashing all the files in the folder, but this time I did not flashed the non-hls neifghter the fsg file.
then I just reboot the phone and read the sim card quickly.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
you save my life. I really appreciate your help.

GPS doesn't work-TWPR not wipe/restore cache and others partition

How to fix this? what file I should flash in fastboot or recovery?
Maps and others apps not recognize mi GPS
2-When I wipe cache partition or restore, twrp says error
(3.0...)
I have a moto x xt1058 with rom epsilon project (flashed over 5.1 stock) *When I flashed stock 5.1 with fastboot, fastboot give some errors.
sorry for my bad english
As to the GPS, clearing the modem using fastboot worked for me.
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
You might need to your device's stock NON-HLOS.bin as modem before issuing these commands. Download your device's latest stock firmware, extract the requisite file and flash it with the following command.
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
I do not know how to help you with issue number two. Maybe just try flashing the official TWRP image again.

[guide] workaround - no network / imei = 0 after flashing custom rom

Hi, all
To anyone experiencing IMEI = 0, therefore no cellular network, this here is a workaround. This happened to me firsthand, and I thought I should pay it forward and share with anyone who experiences this.
Your IMEI is not lost, it's just sitting there. You can see it in fastboot using "fastboot getvar all" command, and in the "Barcode" in bootloader menu.
Any attempt in writing IMEI via QPST tool is futile, because our device is write protected.
I have recovered my IMEI by doing the following:
1. Install Validus-sanders-8.1.Beta.1.3-OFFICIAL-20180128-0506.zip
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850488560
2. After 1st boot in Validus you will see that your IMEI is now recognized, but still you are missing 4G. To recover this, reboot to bootlaoder and reflash the modem using the following fastboot commands:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
Reboot to connect to 4G.
3. Important: Reboot to TWRP and Create EFS Backup!
(Optional)
4a. Reflash stock ROM via fastboot, flash TWRP and restore your EFS partition using the backup you made.
4b. Reflash using TWRP flashable stock ROM in the thread below by @Ae3NerdGod and restore your EFS partition using the backup you made.

You don't need to do all that - just flash stock (remove SIM before flashing and pop it back in after you've booted to stock).

On my experience, I have flashed every stock ROM for xt1805 there is as it is my model, flashed and reflashed modems, cleared modemst1 and modemst2 to no avail. IMEI=0. I removed sim before flash and popped it after booting, but still same result. It went on for almost 2 weeks. One thing I noticed is that the modem version becomes MSM8953_27.36.07.41u while the version in the xml file in stock zip is ***.41R. I don't know what that means, I flashed the latest firmware for xt1805. I am thinking that the letter stands for your region (u=US, e=EMEA, etc). My phone now after it has regai ed IMEI is ***.41e. Maybe it's a mismatch of modem since the bad flash that wrecked my phone and it changed something that makes it swtich to the right bands. I'm not quite sure though.

Fwiw - I'm in the us, my baseband is 40e, so I think you might have the us firmware.
Where did u get the firmware? And how are you flashing it?
Edit , just noticed your baseband is 41e , disregard the above - but - do answer the questions.

Q: Where did u get the firmware?
A: I got the firmware I am using here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=889964283620776326
Q: And how are you flashing it?
A: I am flashing it by following the sequence in flashfile.xml. I put it in a proper syntax in notepad and paste it line by line.

Sounds like the flash procedure is correct , as long as each step flashed successfully.
I believe you mentioned flashing every firmware available - including from firmware center?
If so - all I can say its contact your carrier - if it was ok out of the box, and you've flashed the original firmware, it should work again.
Good luck!

Your link to my twrp stock zip 404's, just saying.
I am following this so far, but i can't figure out where you got those files from:
fastboot flash modemNON-HLOS.bin fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
Are they from the ROM you decided to be your Stock ROM? Because the Custom ROM doesn't contain those. And i am not sure i want to put just some random ROM Files in there...
Thanks for the help you provided with this Thread so far anyway =)
Edit: I tried it with the Files from the Stock ROM and it actually worked =)

You don't need to do all that - just flash stock (remove SIM before flashing and pop it back in after you've booted to stock).

I got my 4g back but I still lose it when I flash a custom ROM. I've tried flashing the room then restoring my efs. Nothing. Taking out sim card for flash then reinserting it. Nothing. I can get 3g just fine in all roms but 4g only in stock.......

2. fastboot erase modemst2
Tadaaa you get 3g and 4g network

Hi, all
To anyone experiencing IMEI = 0, therefore no cellular network, this here is a workaround.

I have tried everything. Restoring efs. Flash non hlos. Erasing modemst. I cannot get my 4g back after flashing custom ROM. So so aggravated. 3g sucks so I can't run a rom that won't do 4g. If any new info comes up someone please let me know.

Then what?
I am.coming from regular Moto G5 where this was a problem too. The solution over there was, if you are on a custom 8.x oreo rom, you needed, before going to stock, flash 32 bit twrp and a 32 bit rom. Then, after first boot, you could go back to stock with no problems. Just got this one and not planning to move from stock as I feel official oreo is right at the corner, but give it a try like this and report back if you were able to

Sprint Moto Z(2) Force retail hybrid step by step

So I finally got my hands on a Sprint Moto Z2 Force. It took me a few tries, but I am finally running the stock retail firmware without all of the Sprint garbage hanging out in the background.
This obviously requires an unlocked bootloader, so make sure you take care of that first.
As with anything found on XDA, your mileage may vary and if you brick your device, it's on you. Don't blame me!
The device I picked up was not carrier unlocked, but I was able to fix that pretty easily. With the directions I found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-force/how-to/tutorial-guide-moto-z2-force-how-to-t3860534
What I did was flash the newest Sprint Oreo firmware minus the gpt.bin available here:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmwar...ubsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
SKIP gpt.bin!!!
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash system_b system_b.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system_b system_b.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase carrier
fastboot erase ddr
fastboot reboot
And then downloaded the retail firmware:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmwar...ubsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
And I downloaded the bootloader warning fix from the thread here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-force/development/remove-bootloader-unlocked-warning-t3702353
I coppied the entire retail image into a new folder and swapped the modem NON-HLOS.bin from the Sprint image into the "new" image folder and also swapped out the logo.bin with the one from the bootloader warning fix. I then flashed everything INCLUDING the gpt.bin from the "new" image folder.
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash system_b system_b.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system_b system_b.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase carrier
fastboot erase ddr
fastboot reboot
I chose not to install TWRP, but I did boot the latest version from fastboot to install magisk.
Everything is running GREAT. I popped in my AT&T sim card and it runs without a single hitch! I am even passing all SafetyNet checks with magisk hide.
I can also zip and upload a copy of the final files I flashed if there is interest or if someone here is capable of converting into a TWRP flashable image.
It still shows up as sprint under software channel. Oddly, the software variant is no longer there.
Shown here
All you would need to do is flash system/oem/boot from the variant you want to run. Did that for mine. (The partition table binary you talk about doesn't really matter, our guid is so similar a few bits won't matter unless it is to a large revision change. That is why it is there. Like when I flashed Oreo with the flash all instead of doing the OTA.)
I.E. downloaded -11 flash all, downloaded latest AT&T flash all, copy/paste/replace the boot/oem and system sparse chunks from AT&T to the folder I extracted the Sprint flash all, created a bat to do the flashing and sat back and waited for a reboot and Bam, AT&T service worked.
I didn't use a batch file since I'm on Mac, but yes, more or less the same result
I did the partition table et all since I was coming from nougat and didn't want to wait for all the individual updates from Sprint. After the first three incremental updates I flashed the entirety of the latest Oreo update. And then flashed the retail. Wasn't sure how much different the two would be, so I flashed everything.
yo hice lo siguiente y esto paso
Install the stock rom (retail) and then install the modem NON-HLOS.bin belonging to sprint and ready for me works perfect I have internet 4g everything working perfect.

Hey, just wanted to say that this has been working for me for about a week, getting LTE working for Verizon on the Sprint variant Z2F, but sometime last night it kicked me off the network and greyed out all the APN settings again. Currently I haven't been able to get it to work again just pushing the apn-conf file, and fear I may have to re-flash everything again. Is there anything else I should try?
Followed your guide and I have a slick non - bloated moto ZF2 running! Thank you for the command by command also, as I have a crap-top that has some USB - C voltage issues so not all the commands follow thru...bat files are great for speed but if you have a cranky USB connection manually is the way to go! I'll let this hybrid cook for about a week and then perhaps start playing around with some of the amazing kernels that have been put together for this device!
Correct me if I was wrong, did you mean we could just copy boot/oem/system from desired variant to current variant and run flash all?
Mine is also a Sprint variant. I wanted to flash retail like OP. Which way below is safer or less chance of messing up the phone:
way 1: copy boot/oem/system from retail to sprint folder and flash all sprint folder;
way2: do what OP did, move sprint modem to retail folder and flash all retail folder.
Thank you.

Boot/system/OEM. That is what I did with AT&T and all functions fine.
Hi everyone,
I'm based in the UK and bought a TMO Z2 Force (US), at the time I did something similar to his topic to get the retail version working with the card (retail only was not getting any signal/detecting SIM Card), I never had NFC working and tried to do a clean install with the Retail version and adding the modem file from TMO but GPS doesn't seem to work fine and still no NFC, which files do I need to copy from TMO ROM to have NFC, GPS and modem working?

It would most likely maintain the original T-Mobile modem in this way.
Copy Boot/system/OEM from retail firmware to T-Mobile firmware. Read the whole thread and you could have better understanding

Just read everything again and if I want to go from T-Mobile phone to a Retail one, flashing for scratch what you're saying doesn't make sense since I'm not upgrading from one version (T-Mobile) to another (Retail), I erase everything in the phone using TWRP and then I install the retail official rom with the T-Mobile modem even so NFC doesn't work.

As I mentioned earlier, you need TMobile modem and probably related files to get NFC to work. Hence you need to flash T-Mobile .
Copy Boot/OEM/System from retail maintains the Android system you want.
Since you already wipe out the phone, trying this way won't hurt

1. Download both TMO and retail firmware. Unzip them to two different folders
2. Copy Boot/OEM/system from retail folder to TMobile folder. Make sure new files overwrite the old ones in TMO folder.
3. Flash this TMO folder firmware.

LOOSING IMEI AND BASEBAND VERSION / SIM showing NO SERVICE

Whenever I try flashing a custom ROM i either loose my IMEI numbers and baseband version or simply get a NO SERVICE. The most recent custom rom i tried was Pixel Experience android 10, for this ROM i had my IMEI numbers and baseband version but got a "no service" - it did however detect my service provider.
Also when i flash the stock ROM back i don't get data(imei and baseband) immediately, i have to perform 2 OTA updates to get them.
So here's what i tried, flashed stock ROM did the 2 OTA updates to get my SIM to work and took a TWRP backup of EFS. Then flashed custom ROM and restored EFS but still didn't get the SIM working
I also took an entire backup of the stock ROM but when i try restoring it i get an error " Extract tar fork 255" in TWRP - now i believe this has to do with the fact tht i'm unable to flash TWRP recovery when on stock ROM (i keep getting a "no command" when i boot to recovery like this) but instead i have to directly boot into twrp every time - fastboot boot twrp.img and when i do it this way TWRP asks for a decrypt(?) password for which i press cancel.. which leads me to believe the backing up doesn't work properly because of this.
Any idea of to fix any of this?
Try to flash validus rom then back to stock.
While flashing stock skip
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
Then flash whatever you want.
And also in twrp try to repair data partition. Decrypt message could be bad disk sign.
I faced this issue, can't get 4G signal and speaking myself "how can validus rom solve this problem, nah just another silly solution"
But it solved!
flashe stock (august19 ROM) using codes
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
