Case that works with dock? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Accessories

It seems the obvious answer is no, but, is there a case that does not need to be removed, or works well with the USB dock? I know I can just get a cable, but I like the "drop-in" ability.

YES...........!!
Followed a link from this site.... somewhere... can't find it now..........
Was a replacement leather case for XDA 2

Found It..!!!

i would go with the brodit holders. i have had them for my last 4 phones and they are great . The fit is great, however they arn't as cheap as some... but you do pay for what you get.
a good company to get them from is dsl developments. mine should be here in a min so i will post a few pics if your interested
Ordered this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HTC-TOUCH-HD2...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL?hash=item518ed1309c
Came today with charger, holder identical with the one provided by O2 UK with Orbit 2. It's holding HD2 very nicely.

Same here. I've already got the Brodit active mount installed it's the 4th one now. It's one of the first things I buy when I get a new phone. I use a RAM suction mount instead of the vent clip option. It's so easy to use just slide the phone in and out.
Ditto. I've just fitted a Brodit active mount for my HD2. Good quality mount that holds the HD2 firmly vertically or horizontally and the power connector lines up perfectly. I never regretted buying Brodit mounts for my past two phones and this one looks to be no exception.
same as above Brodit holder every time, good quality, good fit, not cheap but with a £500 phone its well worth getting something thats not going to drop it eh?
Brodit all the way! btw, there is a active thread already on this with many posts

Why not having a look on www.brodit.com.
I already installed the active one but removed the cig-plug (whole cable) and replaced it by a USB cable. So I'm also able to listen music while charging.
Works like a charm.

Hi Joerg,
How did you do this, my car stereo has a USB input and I'm also hoping this maybe a partial workaround to the Bluetooth issue.
Is there a line out in the micro-usb-plug, too? Like in the older HTC-devices or can i only get sound over the 3.5mm-headphone-plug?
On my polaris i used a htc adapter, where i pluged in a 3.5mm-sound-cable.

The Audio line out on the HD (mini USB) was not available so I can't imagine it being reinstated for the the HD2.
That´s bad. So i allways have to plug in two cables.
it looks nice. Thanks!
However, having a look at it, it seems like it's not possible to keep the HD2 horizontally (I mean the support holding the HD2 seems to be only for vertical use). Is this correct?

Would be intresting, if someone has this carholder and can say something about ist.
Landscape holding is important for me, because i want to use the hd2 for navigation.
What about the Motorola Moto Q-Holder? Can i use my HD2 landscape with this holder?

Dock and other accessories for Nexus S with a case

Hey guys
I tried looking it up anyone know any good dock and other accessories that fit nexus s with a case (the really thin feather one)?
b ump
Anyone try either of these ??
This might work with a case
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sync-Charge...ccessories&hash=item43ad96c95f#ht_2842wt_1140
This should definitely work.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sinjimoru-S...Accessories&hash=item3370c96d7e#ht_2273wt_982
Dock is a problem
I don't really think that you need a case. You can always change the back cover of your nexus s from time to time. And the screen is very good, mine doesn't have any scratch. Take a look at this link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GENUINE-ORIGINAL-HOUSING-BATTERY-BACK-DOOR-COVER-SAMSUNG-NEXUS-S-i9023-/160697790437?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item256a55afe5#ht_1248wt_1037
About the dock, nexus s do not have a multimedia dock like Motorola atrix, for example. The dock only charges and holds your phone. Even this being said I have a dock just like the one in the link bellow. It's good to have at work, you always have your phone charged.

I bought a cheap dock. My nexus s almost fitted with the case on. Took it to myself to disassemble the dock, heat the region around the port and move it slightly and angle it a tad differently. After letting it cool and putting back some hot glue it fits perfectly. ;-)

Looking for good plain case and (possibly) keyboard case

Recently bought a Nook Color, and already have a 32GB microSD card for it and have a pack of anti-glare screen protectors coming in on Saturday. I'm looking to add a plain case and a keyboard case (if possible) to complete my "accessory" set for it.
For the plain case, I'm just looking for something along the lines of the Otterbox Commuter case for it - something that will look nice and be able to protect it should it fall; I want to comfortably carry it on the street and not worry if it falls out of my hands. Just wondering, though - is it worth ~$40? I don't care about it covering the microSD card slot (I don't intend on removing it much), I'm just talking purely about protection and whether there's a better case for the price that would offer a similar level of protection. I don't need a "folio-type" case that will actually cover the screen, and I'd actually prefer that it isn't.
As for the keyboard case, I'm looking at something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004OB0EBQ/
And I remember seeing one with a microUSB connector at the end, but I can't find it at the moment. Anyway, I'm wondering if there's such a keyboard case that would work via USB with the Nook Color (and if there's anything specific I need to do in terms of software - I have CM7.2 on it right now), since I've read that certain such devices won't work without a powered USB hub, and I'd rather not deal with that. I'm not too interested in Bluetooth keyboard cases both due to price and the hassle of Bluetooth (pairing, battery life, etc.), but if somebody knows of a cheap one that works well with the Nook Color then I'd be very interested.
Thanks!
I too have given up on bluetooth keyboards and I'm using this case:
http://www.caseyfrennier.com/nook-color-keyboard-case/
I like it. I've dropped it a few times too. On carpet though.

I found that case here, with a microUSB plug (meaning the miniUSB plug and converter is unnecessary):

Great to know that it only requires an app to work. Think I might go with that and the Otterbox, since it seems like it should still fit according to the specs.
Nobody makes a micro usb female to usb male adapter that I've found so you won't be able to use that keyboard and a mouse and usb drive using a usb hub.
Good find though.

I thought about that (after I bought it =P), but I don't even have a wired mouse at the moment, or the need to plug in a flash drive. Just the keyboard plugged in is fine for me.
So I finally received the case this week and I've been using it a bit...I love it. My only two complaints are that it doesn't hold it well enough to prevent it from slipping out on the sides, and that the Nook Tweaks app to enable USB host doesn't always work properly (might have to re-enable settings and refresh a few times) - but certainly not a dealbreaker.
I'm still looking for a decent regular case, though, as the Otterbox is kinda pricey at ~$45.

The one I linked to:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170783937772
From what I understand, the full-size USB version that can be bought on Amazon is identical in the way it holds the tablet. Again, I certainly wouldn't call it a dealbreaker especially since you can probably make some DIY straps to hold it better or something.
eBay has lots of cases. Got mine from a seller named letsshopdirect. $10 shipped. Whoo.
I bought a keyboard case, even with Nook Tweaks app and both USB settings checked, it wont work with my NC. I know its not the keyboard, cuz it works with other tablets. What am I doing wrong?
Oh, this may help: http://www.ebay.com/itm/310961491593?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 its the link to the listing on ebay for my keyboard
I've used a universal case from Walmart which has yet to fail me.

Desktop cradle for UAG mount?

Can some one recommend a good cradle for use with the UAG case. I want to be able to use my phone as a click at night. I want something I can put a NFC sticker on and automatically put it in clock mode when I put my phone on it.

Been looking for something like this as well. Unfortunately most of the cradles with a high back have a slim opening at the bottom where your phone in a thicker case won't fit. Slim flip case or tpu case works fine, but when you start getting in UAG/Convert/Defender category - those won't fit. Maybe others can chime in if there is another cradle to fit Note 2 in a thicker case, but I have seidio cradle coming to me next week for review and they supposed to guarantee fitment with Active and Convert. Don't quote me on that yet, I will not know until I get it next week and test it out with various cases. Will post pictures as well. The drawback, it doesn't have a high back for NFC tag I want to see if I can stick it on top of it or a side or something. In theory, you just bring it close to activate night or whatever mode you need and then place it in the holder.
Business card holder. Got a metallic one from Staples for a few bucks. Even use it in my car since I'm low on windshield space to mount a cradle.
Oops, I might off missed the original question. Were you looking for a cradle with a charging port or just a cradle? Cause that seidio cradle thingy I mentioned about is actually a charging base that can take Note 2 with a thick case. For just a cradle like it was mentioned above, you can find just about anything that will fit
Charging port would be nice but I already counted that option out. I could probably easily just bend a piece of aluminum a few times and make it work but I was trying to see if there is already sometging available I can just order and be done with it.

Hey all I'm still looking for something that will work. It has been a while since anyone responded to this thread, and also since it's been out, but Maybe something has changed in that time. Any new news? The Seidio Dock works for the Active, but not for the UAG
Found this by Kidigi, http://www.gadgets4geeks.com.au/pro...er-usb-sync-samsung-galaxy-note-2-n7100-n7105
Seems quite amazing, pretty much covered the requirements needed to accommodate the note 2 with a case. As to whether it will actually accommodate the Note 2 with a UAG case, I can't say for certain.
It doesn't have a high enough back support to allow for the use of a NFC tag, but perhaps one could glue a piece of wood/plastic to the cradle in a way that acts as a back support and slap an NFC tag on it. (probably won't look as nice though)

Looks nice! Is this a dock in just a cradle sense, or dock in the specific pin shorting to trigger "dock" mode?

Not 100% sure, but it states that it is capable of data sync and charging output at 1A.
If you wanted to trigger 'dock' mode, then best bet would be to use a NFC tag or learn how to trigger dock mode by modifying the micro usb with resistors.

The 2nd option is something I plan on playing with in general. I was hoping for something "out of the box". If you get this, please let us know what you think. That 1A sounds lowish.
