Hi all I know that there exists a pocket pc application that shows the signal strength in DBs - but I lost the link and I can't find the thread again... Is anybody so kind as to give me the link or name of this application please?

I just got the diamond, my first htc phone my free internet browsing comes on in a couple of weeks but till then just wanted to have a quick browse, just wondered once ive closed the web page down does that mean its automatically disconnected from the net or do i have to manually turn it off, i dont want to get a huge bill from surfing the net the whole time when i think im not connected

The icon that displays the signal strength tells you whether you are connected or not. If it has an antenna icon, you are not connected. Any other icon (such as a "H", "E" or "3G") on the signal strength icon (notice how the antenna is above the strength) means you are connected. There are options to automatically disconnect after a while, I use this.
ok thanks for that mine says 3g at the top so how do i remove that to disconnect?

ok had a look through the manual and what i think the icon (3g) i have is showing that it is available there are no signal strenths below it and according to the manual this is what shows im connected or two arrows if its connecting does that sound right?

I would like to ask you all, if anybody knows a software that could at some specific point save current GPS location and Current WiFi connected network signal strength? I tryed ministubmler but it hust doesnt work. i need this for kaiser phone.

you can use WifiFoFum
Personally, I like AiroMap, but WifiFoFum does work too.
AiroMap does not work on my kaiser
Can you confirm that AiroMap works on kaiser? I tryed that but it just shows Yellow question mark warning. Also, there is no hardware device to select in drop down menu.

I wouldn't have said so otherwise... Triangle means WiFi isn't turned on I believe.

I'm trying to find a solution or an explanation for the roaming symbol that wouldn't go away (the triangle-like symbol).
I've installed NoData.cab, disabled 3G, and changed my connection settings to "My Work Network".
The "E" symbol is also there too and it's "greyed".
Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

I don't now where you live but here in Holland I had the same problem when I installed the latest rom update this was because the operator setup wasn't corect it was connected to my providors network (Telfort KPN) but a sort of subnetwork was connected (chiq) when I installed Duttys connection setup the problem was solved.
Whit advanced config you can also stop the roaming warnings.

I'm having a problem with my diamond, at work I connect to the wifi hotspot there but I don't get very good signal, tested with another device(ipod touch) and it has full signal and works without disconnecting. Mine disconnects randomly when it looses the signal completely. I'm using stock wwe 1.93 rom with radio 1.08.25.08. Is there a way to make Wifi work better? Maybe changing the radio will fix it? I saw in another thread that weak wifi signal would be the cause of a disconnected wifi antenna inside the phone. I really don't wanna slice open my phone as I'm pretty noob at this. Any other recommendations would be great! Thanks in advance

try your Wifi with an AP at home and if you have the same problem, use your warranty. You can try with the programm Wififofum to see the Db that your phone is indicating near the AP (10->80 DB ( 80 is far of the AP)). I hope it will help you.
Hi there, hope anyone expert here can give me a clue on what is going on with my N1 wifi connectivity.
Here's my problem:
when i was in my uni, i was able to connect to the wifi of my uni in nearly all the blocks in my uni except for the Library block, but something weird is that the Library block has the finest signal bar of the whole uni, which the wifi signal bar is under full signal condition, but it can't be connected, other blocks that only have 2 or 3 signals bar can connect without any problem, any clue?
