Hello everybody..

Sorry it won't help but I made the same mistake, I DL a XDAII rom thinking it was a IIs in order to change the language rom of my Q9090, and now it is dead, I presume that you got serial written on the screen no?
If so it is not too bad, the only thing is that you NEED to find a ROM for your XDA IIs, if you are lucky enough and that your XDAIIs is in language where you can find ROM PACK update on the net, well just dl it and install the ROM update, but you may have the operator PB, for that just have a look to the thread in this section who talk about how to change your XDA language... it may help
But if you are French, like I am, living in a Country where the prehistoric GSM network doesn't work like JAPAN, you got only one chance is to send a SD to a friend, where he will dump its rom, and send it back to you...

Wooo...
I living in Uk and currently using o2 services. My dead XDA IIs now display.. something like "Serial v 2.06".. So, was that possible to carry my XDA IIs to their retail shop and ask them to dump a new ROM? Or was it any link and procedure to be followed to get myx XDAIIs kicking live again..
Cheers

Where did you get your xdaIIs?

Uplands ..
I got it from UPLANDS shop online. So..huws? Was there any ROM spared online for XDA IIs available at the moment

if you have "serial" screen, it is not that bad...
just download correct ROM upgrade for your device, cradle it and run the upgrade .
...search this forums how to do it. there are tens of these how to posts...
buzz

Could you give me a good link..Which one suit the XDA IIs
Thanks dude anyway, It's my first time have a hand on this PDA stuffs.. and I really dunno those stuff with relate on how to upgrade, playing with ROm and so on... Hopefully, you will be kind to teach me since you use the same device XDA IIs.. and if not just give me a shot of the best link out there...
Kind Regards

Im wondering why you even upgraded in the first place? My XDAIIs shipped with the latest ROM, and has no apparent bugs. Yet you have yours for 48 hours, have no knowledge of firmware/flashing etc, and you jump onto an immediate firmware upgrade (wrongly, of course)?
What bugs were you seeing?

has anyone a xda11s rom image I too applied the xda11 update
I am looking at the usb v2.06 screen with the unit in the cradle. has anyone an image they can forward me so i can flash it back rather than send it back to O2
thanks shaun

UK T-Mobile ROM available? (Not i-mate please)

Have read quite a few threads here, but all these requests seem to be suggesting the i-mate ROM image.
Are there any legit UK T-Mob ROMs out there? I had an early UK ROM on it, but it used to crash when you recieved a call in standby mode, and BT used to come up with a trial period has ended message quite often, so I flashed it with the i-mate software.
Was wondering if there's a ROM to restore it back to T-Mob yet (but a stable version)?
TIA
There is an official T-Mobile (NL) 1.72.190 ROM out now.
If you like more add-ons maybe my (T-Mobile based) 1.72.902 ROM (which I will shortly update with the new 1.72.190 things) is something for you.
Plz search the forum for the threads.
It can be used on any of the T-Mobile networks without problem (as said by T-Mobile users in Uk and USA).
Are you referring to XDA III/PDA2K/IIs unit or XDA II? Reason I ask is because this is under the Blue Angel thread area.
there is a UK T-mobile rom for the MDA III ?????????????? Can you please tell me where I can get it? And will it work for my German Tmobile MDA III ??? (i am currently using the english pda2k rom on my german mdaIII)
THanks!

Imate PDA2K rom update, Orange Partner Israel

I have ordered a new Imate PDA2K from Australia through Ebay, haven't got it yet so I do not have all the data incl. all rom versions it is running under, however, Orange Partner, my Cell Phone provider has released a new Rom version on it's website, Orange_Israel_V1.72.187_Dated-3-2-2005.exe designated for the IMATE XDA II, (the same but without the sliding keyboard) which is the device they sell here in Israel, and which contains Hebrew language.
My question is, would it work on my new PDA2K?, what do I have to do in order to be able to reinstall the original rom in case the new one does not work, I have read the "Blue Angel for beginners" at wiki.xda-developers.com, however it is rather complicated, well at least for a new user.
Thank you.
I would not install the ROM for the XDA II, I really don't think the only change is the sliding keyboard. It's a different device and comes with dfferent hardware and I have a feeling that you are going to screw up your phone, especially since u are getting the phone from australia - what would u do if u screw it totally? U are stuck with a dead duck.
If I were U - I would not take the risk.
This is just my opinion.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, I thought so to, anyway there is a rom update at Club Imate, I think I will use that one.
From what I have read in the [email protected] forum, the update I was talking about in my question is the exRom, it appeares so in many devices in some posts.
Thanks again!

XDA IIS Running WM2005 (Edit : not proven yet)

After noticing that wm2005 was availible for himalaya i decided to try n make it work on the XDA 2s my attempt was a complete success and my xda 2s now runs WM2005 to make it run though is extremely difficult and i will create a Tutorial later today along with screenshots
Regards
Hrmm...considering the WM2005 rom that was leaked was a rom specifically designed for the hardware of the Himalaya, I would still be weary of putting it on a Blue Angel, even if it was indeed possible.
Can you post how u did that ? thanks

Hmmmm, new user, logs in for the first time and his (or her) first and only post is to say WM2005 is on a BA device.........
Me thinks NOT!
Well lets wait and see......
I happen to agree with you there, but as you said, only time will tell.
Hey it makes a change from the first post being "How do I upgrade"?
So let's give him a chance. Waitin for a tutorial...
Has anyone tried MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe with the Windows Mobile 2005 Himalaya Rom we have on a Blue Angel? I'm too scared of the consequences to try .

Already try didn't work.
*impatiently waits*
patiently, maybe not
I also and waiting patiently, or not, for the upgrade tutorial.
I hope it is not a hoax.
Come.... on... we are waiting... show us how to do it
Mods should just shut this bogus thread down. If they're legit, they can recreate the thread with details.
I totally agree. Shut this thread down before it gets too many more people's hopes up.
close this thread??? ban him for life!!!
Yeah right, suurrre it works...Not!
If this guy has managed to get a 2005 ROM on a BA. One of us would have bugged the crap out of him for him to upload his Rom Dump by now. Is everyone as (yawwwn)... skeptical as me? We just might as well wait for the new T-mobile MDA IV and the XDA ??? three and a half or four something.. well you get the idea. I love my Blue Angel but I am not going to brick it on OS that was NEVER orginally written for it.
It has been going on more that 9 months since the Blue Angel release and it is already high time for the carriers to start pushing the upcoming all new, all 2005 loaded, redesigned models instead of wasting anymore time trying to please anyone of us who made HTC rich from buying one of thier cellular branded $800- $1000 phones. But as the saying goes....seeing is beliveing.
hahahah..this is total crap
i already tried flashing the wm2k5 rom on my BA ...doesnt work dude
i think the thread starter is a bog fat liar..if thats his way (by lying) to start a relationship i think we shod warn his wife..
I totally agree with that

Upgrading to WM5.0 - Help Required

Hi All!
I am interested in upgrading my O2 XDA IIs (which I assume is a Blue Angel) to Windows Mobile v5.0. However, I am new to the ROM Upgrade scene, and therefore have a few questions!
1) Will my phone still work after I have upgraded? I use O2 on a post-pay GPRS contract.
2) Are there any downsides to having to upgrade?
If someone could either post back here or contact me through any of my listed methods to assist me in upgrading the phone?
Many Thanks!
~ Paul

Try reading Wiki..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
This will give you all the information you need to make the decision.. Remember, it needs to be your decision and not what anyone else recommends.. Personally, I still use the WM2003SE as it's better suited for my business needs and I need the [relative] stability that 2003 gives..
You also need to consider your skill level in playing with your device.. not only about "taking backdoor routes" to updating your BA but to also tweeking it using a Registry Editor..
There's nothing worse then seeing a post stating "HELP - I'VE BORKED MY BA!" as they were not too sure what they were doing..
Remember, reading is the best form of knowledge!
Hope this helps..?
Cheers.
I looked through the wiki earlier (before my post) - no details on whether it would still work. I took the plunge anyway and I am glad I did It worked fine.

Downgrading Advice

Hi All,
My wife got my an XDA 11i it has an upgrade to wm 6.1, it works fine however the wifi doesnt work and it is a little slow, basically i would like to get back the original os version windows 2003 so my questions are as follows.
1. can i downgrade to the original oS
2. Where can i get the rom from
3. Or is there a standalone wireless driver.
Thanks in advance
Mark
Then Mark you have something a lot of people (not me) would give their eye teeth for a XDA IIi with more than 2003SE are you absolutely positive that you have????
But I would have thought that a download of the last "Real" ROM from O2's Irish site (loads of links around here if you search) would have sorted it back to 2003SE
Its definitely 6.1 but without wireless its useless to me as i need to use it on the move wirelessly, what are the irish url's
I needs these roms asap and you could spend weeks on this site serching the forum and ive just started a business and i require the xda on the go.
i just want a xda11i original rom so i can make sure the wireless isnt a hardware issue them i may upgrade again once i know it works.
Thanks Mark
Given all the information above i would say this is actually an XDA II, aka Himalaya, that would account for both the WM6.1 and the absence of WiFi. easy way to check is go to
Start - Settings - Device Information and select the Identity tab, report back which Model it is. i am not a gambling person but even money says it is PH10B, this makes it a Himalaya.
As for the advice re ROMs and Ireland site, search www.O2.ie for ROMs for both Himalaya and Alpine, XDA II and IIi respectively. Make sure you get the right ROM as you run the risk of wrecking it completely.
Hi Deedee,
It looks like it is an XDA 11, so it looks like there aint no wireless.
So it is now the xda 2003 rom i need.
Thanks
It's Xmas, I am in a good mood so here's the link, just pick the right ROM.
O2 ireland XDA ROM
Took two clicks and one search, go to O2.ie, search for "XDA ROM" and pick the fourth option.
Personally i'd stay with WM6.1, the Himalaya I have for mucking about with is WM6, never felt the need to return to WM2003. Is there a technical reason for downgrading? You are going to fond so much that won't work it's probably not worth the effort, apart from the experience. Also you may not get the Extended ROM back even following the downgrade.
