Devicedata.txt

Hi,
According to the Wiki, it says that to obtain the Device Info, to execute the
Getdevicedata.exe and it will generate a file called \Windows\Devicedata.txt
Well.. i did that and all i see in Devicedata.txt is "Ph20B"
I am suppossed to see more right ?
hey guys... i think im a lil sleepy... haha...
I saw on the wiki
Warning This is a 3k file and if opened on your device it will truncate after the first word. The file has blanks and unprintable characters in it.
opened it up in notepad and it works fine...
Thanx Anyways....
Remember that you cannot alter device data in TypeII roms, use the MaUpgradeUt_noID file for TypeII roms
i had no intention to alter it

if someone could help me

i need to change the operator in my ROM i guess... i am trying to flash a SX66 w/ WM5 (tuma 1.4) and i cant change the thing!! if someone could please help... i would be greatful. im new to this.. i havent flashed these kinda phones b4.. thanks in advance.
let me try... i assume you have already downloaded tuma 1.4, extracted it, saved the whole folder on your c:> directory (not desktop), and renamed the said folder into "ROM". also, you have executed the application GetDeviceData and you have identified your operator value. let's say that this operator value is ???
1. using your computer, go to START > Command Prompt. Type
CD\
then type
CD\ROM\
then type
SETOPERATOR ???
where ??? is the operator value you got from GetDeviceData.
2. you wait until it's completed. then that's it! you should be ready to take the next step. as i understand it, it is important that the nk.nbf file is in that ROM folder with the SetOperator application in order to make upgrading/downgrading work.
hope this helps.
by the way, have you been successful in repartitioning using the xda3nbftool/editfix.bat? i'm getting frustrated in not having a storage of 60MB (i only have 43MB) since i don't understand how to make it work. hope there's someone who could help me.
.... and read
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel and
http://sx66-blueangel.home.comcast.net/
also you should say what you have tried and give more specific error messages. How do you expect someone to be able to help you with
.. and i cant change the thing

Need some help

I'm completely new to all of this....so forgive me if I posted this in the wrong spot, or the answer is posted somewhere (I already looked around for the answers, and didn't find them).
I want to upgrade my Blue Angel to the new ROM....and there are a couple things in the instructions that I don't understand how to do:
1) "Resize your Extended ROM to 128KB and your Storage ROM to 60MB. You will use your SD card as a replacement for your EXTROM."
2) "Modify the operator in the ROM as needed:
* Determine your operator Information e.g.: "T-MOB101", or "Vodafone", or O2. See GetDeviceData.
* Open a command prompt, go to the folder where the ROM file resides (nk.nbf) and execute: SetOperator ???"
With the second one, I've already used GetDeviceData to find out that my operator is "XGULA001".
Edit: Another question that I have.....is Windows Media Player 9 included on this when I install the ROM? (if not, will I be able to install it later?)
Please someone answer, I know that someone has to know how to do this.
1. Modify the operator in the ROM as needed
Open a command window and execute: SetOperator ????
- Replace ???? with your Operator Information
- i.e.: T-MOB101, or Vodafone, or O2, or ...
I have no idea what I'm suppost to do, but I do know what my operator is.
read section 'How do I find out what my device configuration is before upgrading?'
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_GettingStarted
download and extract the file i uploaded, copy nk.nbf over the extracted director. launch your dos prompt, nagivate to the extracted directory, and run SetOperator.bat.
example: SetOperator.bat O2ASI001
where O2ASI001 is the operator code.
hope it works.

Thanks, thats the program that I needed......but now I have another problem.
When my BA is in bootloader mode, I can't update because the updater doesn't recognize the BA. When I try updating out of bootloader mode, the updater recognizes it at first..,...but when I start the update it goes into bootloader mode again, and it stops recognizing the BA so it can't update.
What can I do to solve this problem?
what error did u get?
Remove SD Card
Make sure you remove your SD card before you start the flash program. I have noticed the same problem if my 4gb SD card is still in the slot. After upgrading, you return the SD card in the slot and reset the device so the EXT-ROM directory can be read.
Thanks, that fixed the problem.....but now I have yet another problem.
The phone won't work, and I can't connect to my operator.....how do I connect to my operator? (My operator isn't listed anywhere on the BA)

what part are you having trouble?
This is what I did :
after extracting the OS with typho5.exe
prepare_imgfs.exe 80040000-OS_0.nb -nosplit
viewimgfs.exe imgfs_raw_data.bin
than I wanted to edit the "dump" directory (I don't know how to put different files in diffrent directories) , any how i've replace few files. and than I run :
BuildImgfs.exe
make_imgfs.exe 80040000-OS_0.nb
than nb2nbf.exe and after all that I "burned" it into the device
(RUU) and than the device stucked.
So what I'm doing worng ?

I'm not able to find it out the file "initflashes.dat" in dump folders. Where can I find the file?
It must be in the rom, if you cannot find it type in a command line console in the dump directory "attrib -h -s initflashes.dat", that surely would let you see it. But normally you will see it without doing this.

Extract one of my Roms, replace my OS.nb file with yours and cook it again.
Use ALL files including IPL/SPL so you will have to put 7 files in nb2nbf tool, if you need all the correct addresses, PM me.
Regards,
Molski
is it possible that my problem was that i just tried to "burn" OS and Ext. rom only ?
going to tray it again.
(BTW : is there a number of times i can burn my rom , i think i've done a hundred time)
thanks
still not working , stuck at the logo screen (it does write the spl,Ipl etc)
here are the address i used :
i think the problem is with something else ,

thx, for your reply first...
so ok then i let this go with WM6 on mda3 ^^
the other thing is then i want to got WM5(Windows Mobile 2005) on it...
i think this is possible with the file:
Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3[1].5_v1.4.CF2.R2.rar
am i right ?
the other thing is, all the shiped files from "wiki" cant be downlaoded any more...
so can someone say me how to get my current OS in ROM
(Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition GER ) bakuped, that i can get this one back to my MDA3 ???
Read this.
It can help U a lot.
Copy the nk.nbf file to folder that match ur device (PH20B/PH20B1)
witch folder is mean with that ?
i only got: (in Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3[1].5_v1.4.CF2.R2 )
folder ExtROM
MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
nk.nbf
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
another problem is i cant open the "nk.nbf" with ER2003Edit_1_4_26...
because hes telling me he need a password that i didnt got
thx for reply !
EDIT:
i have to get on the "nk.nbf" to change my provider...
solutions
Easy solution: just run BaUpgradeUt_NoID.exe in folder U've got!
Other easy solutions: try this rom.
Hard solution:
Get SetOperator.bat, xda3nbftool.exe and GetDeviceData.exe from xplode rom arh. Then copy GetDeviceData.exe to ur pda and run it, find DeviceData.txt file in windows folder on pda(\Windows\DeviceData.txt) open it with notepad, U'll get something like this "PH20B 0 B GER R T-MOB101 1.12.00 0 0 1.12.100 1.02.00 02.00" where "T-MOB101" is ur operator code. Copy SetOperator.bat & xda3nbftool.exe near nk.nbf and run SetOperator.bat with operator code as parameter(example: "D:\roms\baniaczek_v2\SetOperator.bat T-MOB101")
Now U can flash ur device just run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
;-)
Good luck!
