SX66 - no SIM toolkit app :( -- please help :) - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I recently bought a Siemens SX66, and much to my dismay there is no application for handling the SIM toolkit
I looked on Handago an PocketGear to see if I could buy something, but nothing came up. I looked at the XDA IIs firmware (from a cached page on google) and I see that they have a SIM toolkit application.
Is there any way to get this PPC application installed in my SX66?
Thank you
Admiral

what exactly does this sim toolkit allow you to do? my sx66 came with it.

AdmiralAK, try looking in the Windows directory for STK.exe -- it's there on my SX66. However, when I run it, it pops up with "Your SIM Card has no applications installed" -- that's probably why they don't put a shortcut in Programs.

sorry I forgot to update the thread
I popped a SIM in my phone that has a SIM toolkit and it automatically shows up, even there is no shortcut in the programs folder

So, what exactly is a SIM toolkit, and how does one put it onto the SIM?

A SIM toolkit is a set of applications (well..services) that the service provider provides. The SIM can be programmed by the provider to contain such services that their customers can access. These are usually delivered via SMS and you are charged a fee for using them.
SIM applications are widely used everywhere EXCEPT north america
These services vary.
Most basic services that most providers seem to have: horoscope, weather, news info, sports
Some more specialized: Secure banking, payments, chat, dating, ship & airplane schedules

Transfer contacts from nextel

Hey guys, how can I transfer my contacts from my nextel i760 to the att tilt? I have data cables for both, and the i760 has a sim card. Since they are two different networks, however, I don't want to risk damaging my tilt by placing the nextel sim card inside of it. Please help.
connect your nextel phone on your computer, user activesync + nextel software to download your contacts from your phone. Using the nextel software export your contacts to a .csv file.
Now using outlook import your .csv file to your addressbook, connect your tilt and sync it.
Nextel Software? im afraid I dont have any. Im on a mac too, so things are a bit complicated when it comes to modding stuff.
Nextel uses a IDEN phone book manger and you wont be able to sent it like that
get the phone book manger from Motorolas site load your contacts then copy and paste it to outlook and sync your tilt with it
using nextell service on tilt

Nextel uses CDMA signal as well as Verizon. AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. You won't be able to use a Verizon / Nextel Sim card in a AT&T or T-Mobile phone.

"go-sim" pre-paid global cards

Hello. I am trying to use one of these cards on my unlocked tilt as I want to go to Spain this month and use it there. I can check my balance and I can see the network, Rogers wireless. I cannot call it from another phone and I cannot find a way to call from it. They say I may need the "go-sim menu" which should magically appear under the phone menu or some other menus depending on the phone. Only I cannot find it anywhere.
Has anybody used one of these before? Any help would be gratly appreciated. Thanks.
My wife and I used a similar product from MAXroam during our trip last month to Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Once we put the MAXroam SIM in our unlocked AT&T Tilt devices, there was a new entry in the Programs folder named "Roaming" that we had to use to make calls via a small menu list.
Incoming calls came in the normal way, except that most of them came in as "Private Caller," due to the methods by which that particular service operates. Hope that info helps, and that your trip goes well.
Thanks. I found it on mine it's called ... "SIM Menu". I was looking for a folder... Thanks again
Also, I can call it on ATT although I could not on Rogers, eh!

Have SIM problem "Unknown SIM status" on my Spring CDMA Diamond

Dear all,
I did a search on this forum, but couldn't find any topic related to my problem, so here is a new thread.
I have a problem with phone function in my Sprint CDMA HTC Diamond several random programs installed. The phone now pops up a window with keypad saying "Unknown SIM Status, Only emergency calls can be made without a PIN" before TouchFLO starts on boot up. It looks like a SIM PIN unlock screen, and I can click clear to cancel this window and I can still make phone calls, but this window will pop up again and disallow further actions whenever I go to Phone->Option, or send a text message.
My phone is a Sprint CDMA phone, and doesn't even come with a SIM card. I guess I might have installed a program from GSM phones incompatible with Sprint CDMA, but I couldn't tell which program, and I don't see all programs in remove program list. Is there any way to get around it? Or I will have to flash my ROM back to stock ROM?
btw, my diamond worked fine before I start installing random programs.
Many thanks,
szubilly

[Q] Need help with G1 activation issue

Phone was factory reset after multiple issues and errors. I ditched the old SIM card in it and got a brand new one with a prepaid $3 for a day of use so I could activate the phone, but now I'm stuck on the Google activation screen, and if I make a new google account, it says the following:
"You don't have a network connection"
I checked the wi-fi setting and it says I do have one, and the SIM is registered with T-Mobile. I can't use any of the tricks I saw to bypass/skip the Google activation screen because there's no special ROM on the phone. Anyone able to help with this?

Sony SOG01 Simlock Or...(please read the thread)

Hi all. I hope someone can help me with my phone.
I have this phone and I have problems with it. The phone was bought from another person, not in a store.
It does not connect to the mobile network and cannot connect to the mobile internet.
It is fully operational, all functions work (except for the sim card), the phone connects to wifi and connects to the Internet. When connected to a computer, it is also completely determined.
You ask, "So what's the problem, take it to repair, they will replace the SIM card module and everything will be fine"
The problem is this. The SIM card is fully defined in the phone. When installing a sim card, a reboot is triggered, the operator is determined in the settings menu (I am from Russia, therefore my operator TELE2, the sim card was bought specifically in order to exclude the old generation of sim cards and also a possible simlock to my other operator), but when you click on the sim card menu, calls and SMS the buttons are grayed out with the caption "temporarily unavailable" (if necessary for understanding, I will change the language of the phone and provide all screenshots of the system) and they cannot be clicked.
Also, in the engineering menu, in the simlock button, opposite the Network subset inscription, there is the number 5 and it is marked with the letter X. This means, as far as I know, that there is a lock on a specific operator. But after a hard reset, the phone does not ask for any codes to enter.
This is my question, how can this be fixed?
Will flashing the phone to global rom help?
I gave the phone to a service center (not a Sony branded center, we don’t have one in our city), they told me that software setup was needed, but there was only a chance to restore the phone.
Maybe I need root access and find some file in my phone?
Please help me.
P.S. I don't have the best English, so sometimes I can't understand you, please don't get mad at me)
P.S.S. I created this topic in the questions section. I'm sorry if I had to go to the firmware section
