Is there any hope t have a normal BT handsfree?? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I think, this is just insane. BT handsfree is useless on this device! I really don't understand how come little JAM has a great BT and it's big brother - not. I just tried WM 2005 on it with MS BT stack and it's the same! I am afraid, that is pointing to hardware problem on this device. Anyone is using BT headset with it succesfully? I've tried Moto H500, GG Telecom, Bluespoon and they all give horrible static!

I don't know... do you think the XDA III can be better than this? Voice Command through a Bluetooth Headset is sounding pretty good.
I would love to try HP's new BT stack on my I-Mate
That's EXACTLY what I expect from iMATE SE update. Full BT stack. Or at least, use hacked one from HP in XDA2
Its got an external ariel(cant spell) would have been a nice phone without. Its funny when a new phone comes out with one! doesnt look right to me.
Yeah, I don't like the antenna either.
I'm getting pretty anxious for a new i-mate WM2003SE ROM. I hope they add Voice Tag dialing support so you can use the Bluetooth Headset to initiate a call. It sounds like the H6300 does not have that capability, although it does have the ability to send system audio to the Bluetooth headset.
It looks like the MMS app on the H6300 is integrated with Inbox too, but the New MMS dialog looks just like the Arcsoft MMS Composer dialog for creating MMS messages. I wonder if there's a new version of MMS composer that integrates fully with the Pocket PC Inbox! Hopefully we'll get that on the XDA II soon too!
I WANT AUDIO THROUGH BLUETOOTH!!!!
That's the only thing that I hate about the XDA II... I'm tired down.
I don't mind the crappy quality, I was used to it with my other PPC.

Looks like Widcomm's new software that supports Phone Edition devices. It's cool how you can turn on headset support for just the phone, just the system audio/microphone or both. But I still wish I could use the buttons on the Bluetooth headset to activate Voice Tags or something. Sounds like all they can do with the H6300 is Accepting and Ending a call.
Calling all software engineers:
Someone, please get a hold of this BT Stack and backwards engineer it for the XDA II.
I'll donate $20US to whoever does this. I'm sure many more are willing to donate some money for a good cause.
not sure about which version the new hp will use but some people here seem to have the stack working on their devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9927&highlight=widcomm
for me to really wish for audio to headset it would require
1 stereo (mono music is not for me)
2 quality which dident make it all sound like aliens from beyond the sun that i pick up on my HAM
Rudegar,
Those are PC Bluetooth software... We're looking for the new Pocket PC Bluetooth Stack.
The only reason I want Audio through Bluetooth is for games and movies.

I just saw this article on STEREO BT! http://mobilemag.com/content/100/104/C3048/
--now that would be GREAAAT!
...so I'm sure, IS there no way to listen to MP3's on the xda2 thru BT now??
The HP is not MS Mobile SE, plus the MPx is coming soon, I hope, so I'll wait for that...

Jabra BT 800 and Broadcomm 3900 upgrade

:? Hi guys Just wondered if any of you guys are experienced problems with the Jabra bt800 working intermittently. Sometimes it works but most of the time it does'nt . I've upgraded to Broadcom 3900 and although blue tooth audio still crackles its not as bad.. The headset works alot better with my SPV C500.. Any ideas or experiences :?:
bt 800
hi i have xda2s with bt 800 working somtimes
i upgradeed to bt3900 but i see no change
somtime i takes 5-6 kye presss to unswerr a phone call
i do not have any audio problem the audio is ok
glad to know i am not the only one.. cheers for replying
did you try to contact jabra support???
I have a contact in GN Netcom so will have a chat with him next week and post the response here
thenks
:? Ok after talking to my contact in GN Netcom we have come to the conclusion (seings as it works fine with my Motorolla V3 and Nokia 6810 and 6820 and Siemens SK65) that the issue lies with the Bluetooth stack on my 2s.I did explain about this that i had upgraded it to the newer version and i personally believe they have not totally replicated the way the Bluetooth in the xda2s behaves the same as a normal bluetooth enabled phones.
I believe that because it works fine on most of the Manufacturers phones and the XDA's of this world are low priority to get it right.. I still believe it will be fixed in future Bluetooth upgrades on the xda2s.. doh still think that even though the display and buttons work intermittently it is still worth having for the DSP
The problem still exists!
I have Qrek 9090 and Jabra t800. Audio is very good and also on the good range.
BUT...
Main problem (even with Jabra 800 fix CAB file) is that I can't normaly answer the phone call. It takes about 5 or 6 times before I can reply the call. And also, it takes about 2 seconds before I can hear other side opponent.
I just wonder if you people have some kind of this problem. Any expirince. Could you please share with me some information.
I use Danghard rom 1.44 wit BT 3900.
Thanks a lot.
Leonid.

Hi..use search,,,still this is how to do a voice dialling:
1) Install MS Voice command and assign a Hardware button(any) to activate the software so that it an listen to our commands.
2) Now, just press the "Call answer" button of your BT.By doing so it will activate the sound on your 2s.Then press that harware button of Voice command and speak...
It works flawlessly
Thanks
thank s
Ill def try going to Delhi, will return and sure thry Voice dial and re-install my BT stack to see if there is crackling sound still there
also how long can you try to distance your phone from the BT
I got one Jabra bt800
its superb and must say its a best one around with lots of features
Eehheh and you call that voice dialing?
If i had to do all of that to voice dial i could also press the button on the device and talk the name to it. And that would be one click less than with your solution.
I think the idea of voice dial with bluetooth is to keep the phone in your pocket and do the talking via bluetooth only.

Hi again guys.
Still can't solve my problem with BT 800.
I contacted with several companies but didn't get any correct answer.
Really don't know what to do.
Can you please tell what exactly this CAB file from FTP fixes cause nothig changed since I installed it.
Thank you and please foget me for bothering you.
Leo.
Gentlemen,
After a week or so exploring this forum and experimenting with my Logitech bluetooth hands free I've got a feeling that the only possible solution for the moment is to prevent the BA from getting into the sleep mode. Use ScreenLock or Mort Saver instead.

Well, thank you.
But as I understood from different threads in forum this is one way.
But... I'll kill battery of PDA very quickly. Really don't think that it's a good idea.
People from Jabra told me that new firmware will come soon and will help to solve this problem.
So.. I think that it's not the fault of PDA or ROM... :?

ISSUE- Voice not over BT headset

Guys,
I understand you are concentrating on the WM5 upgrade and other interesting projects. Maybe, you can take a few moments out to share some of your experience with a newbie....
I am using TuMa v1.5 WM5. I am able to use BT really well (of course, the issue of BT turning off with device on stand-by remains).
I am able to connect with my TomTom and with my Cardo Scala BT headset. The problem is this: If I use the headset to initiate a call using the BT headset (by double-clicking the headset buttom to redial or by pressing the BT headset button to voice dial) the call goes through as intended BUT my voice does not go over the BT headset to the other party. Also, the voice from the other party can be heard over both, the BT headset and the phone. This problem DOES NOT appear if I make the calls using the phone with the BT headset connected to it.
Please advice. Thanks for your help and for a great forum, especuially for us newbies.
Sagar
bt headset
Select use for phone only. Perhaps then it works.
The headset is connecting to device audio, not phone audio.

Really? ... Wow! I'd better update my firewall again.
How'd you steal that version off my machine! 8)
For the sake of argument, I'll presume you're using v1.4, since it has the most up to date BT elements in it, but v1.3 should be very stable for BT communications as well.

Yeah ... I'm still looking into this. I hope to have this working through the Microsoft Stack. The Widcomm one is still looking like a "last resort", and it really is a bit more 'ugly' to use - especially in it's compatibility and (from what I can see) reliability.

Hmmm ... this sounds like there is still some form of a headset audio routing issue as vastloper indicates. Try ensuring that only one profile is active at the time (headset probably).
I will shortly have all the gear I need in order to properly test this myself too.
FYI: I've now recently purchased the following devices:
- SIRF Chipset Bluetooth GPS Unit
- Motorola HT820 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones
- Jabra BT 150 Headset
- Jabra BT 330 Headset
- BlueTrek X1 Headset
And now have access to another Jabra BT 500 Headset, and another pair of Bluetooth Stereo Headphones.
So ... shortly, I will have the ability to REALLY test everything out myself in the Bluetooth realm.
Now all I need is 5 ears, and enough pockets to carry all this stuff in.
The process I used....
Thanks, vastloper and Tuatara.
Tuatara- genius AND a sense of humor... thats a rare combo! We all appreciate your efforts in bringing WM5 to us. You go out of your way to make it better for us. Thanks.
Regarding the issue on this post, just FYI- I used MOHDWADEA's process for voice command over BT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42923&highlight=
Could this cause the problem? Does this light any light-bulbs, any 'aha' moments? Please let me know- I greatly apprecaiet it.
Thanks,
Sagar

It's possible. I'm not entirely certain what this will change in the configuration (or versioning of replaced DLL's), but it is possible that there are compatibilty issues. Since I don't have a device with TuMa v1.3 on it anymore (one's on Alpha v1.5 testing, and the other is a AKU2 'brick' attempt at the moment), I can't even find out for you.

Only Me who has the BT headset problem with Helmi 1.3.2

Please Please Please...Help me
I am quite happy with AKU3.2 1.3.2 The only one and strange problem for me is I can not use my BT headset scala-500 as I ever use in WM2003. I can hear voice the one I call. But they can not hear me. They said they hear nothing or some static only.
The symptom is after pairing the headset it works okay. But sometime later(I dont know the real reason)....maybe when it is standby or batt empty, after that it happens. Sometime when I turn on the paired BT headset again ..it recognize each others. But sometime BA ask for the passcode "0000" again like it see a new BT headset.
Please help me...Thank you
alone in the universe....after waiting for any idea and posting about this issue for 2 times ...no single reply.... I give up. Good bye XDA IIs.
your not alone!!!!
I had similar problem with a parrot carkit on bluetooth, i also tried all the wm5 roms available but none worked, back to wm2003 work everytime, me thinks its an underlying bug in wm5/blueangel combo.
My Advice + revert to wm2003

BT headset unusable

Hello
A while a go, I upgraded successfully to wm2005. Since then, my ba works like a charm. Memory, BT, wifi,... all is going swell! The only aggravating point is I no longer can use my bt headset (jabra bt250v and jabra bt800). The problem is that there's so much disturbance that I cannot hear what people are saying and vice versa. I already upgraded the radio till the last version I could find on the ftp, but no luck.
Today I tried with other headsets (another jabra and another sonyericsson) and I have the same problem. But just now, I hooked it up with a sony ericsson bt carkit and the reception is flawless. Too bad that carkit wasn't mine ;-)
So I'm really at a loss here...
If any of you could help me out, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks!
Beldin
Which rom are you using?
I'm using Helmi's 1.4 rom Vanilla version and it works great with my Bluespoon AX and i-Tech Clip Radio.
You might want to hard reset and flash the WM5 and Radio 1.15 rom again.
I have upgraded to the vanilla version, but the problem remains... (nice version btw!)
The following was also the case with the previous version: when I hold my ba very close to my headset, the cracking stops. Then I have not only my ba to my ear, but my headset in between
I also have a bt gps receiver, which works fine, no matter how far in my car.
So now I still wonder why my ba has such a bt audio problem...
try i-tech s35
