Just left it in the cradle for ages, come home and found it stuck on the red light. Tried a reset and removing / reinserting the battery but its not come back in yet.

HELP!!

I flashed radio rom 2.40 and it is screwing up my phone BIG TIME. i am using Faria's WM6 but this rom is killing it.
I cannot get to the bootloader screen even if I press the 2 buttons on the right and the Reset button but I cannot get to the loader screen.
Anyone know another way to get to the bootloader so that I can go back to the original 1.19 ROM.
Thanks,
Mike
ok, i read this in this forum because just 2 days back the same thing happened to my 8125... ok Charge ur phone with the battery still in it for 2 hours....then after thats done take out the battery and charge the phone without the battery.....Then pull the plug out and push back in for like 3 times (ur screen and orange led light should flash)...then without putting the battery back in hold the camera, power, and voice buttons at the same time until the bootloader screen comes up. Finally put the battery back in and unplug the charger, put the pc charger in and flash ur old rom....hope this helps, because it worked for me! Good Luck!

HA....all is good.
I just followed these instructions from this thread and got bootloader to come on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294107
Basically, the only thing I did was remove my SD/MMC card and it went through no problem.
I flashed 2.19 Radio Rom back on my MDA so hopefully, everything is good.
Thanks for trying to help....

How do you do a manual hard reset?

I have an AT&T Tilt that is, as of this morning, giving me the "Red Light of Death".
I have tried all of the suggestions that I found here and on AT&T's HTC forum, to no avail. I have a fully charged battery (two in fact), a stand alone battery charger, and have been using the factory charger on the phone every night. The only thing that I haven't tried is a manual hard reset because I can't figure out how and haven't been able to find a post that tells how.
I can't do a regular hard reset because the device won't turn on.
Can someone tell me how to do a manual hard reset?

Thanks.
Didn't help cure my problem, but thanks.
Did you try taking the battery out for half an hour?
Mike
Will that help?
well my battery is fully charges, thx to a multimeter, but the phone wont power on...
The idea of taking the battery out for a while is to fully discharge any circuits (capacitors) in the phone. If the red light shows when the battery is charged then the phone is not detecting the battery. It may just be the detection circuit. So removing the batter MAY reset that circuit.
Mike
I tried it, nothing....

Yep, tried that. Also tried the plugging in the charger with no battery and then putting in the battery.
So far the ONLY sign of life from the phone is the steady red light when the charger is connected. And that's a bad sign.
An interesting update.
I left the battery out of my phone overnight and put it back in this morning, without trying to turn it on, and brought it to work with me. When I got to work I tried to turn it on with no luck.
At 8 AM I called AT&T to start the process of getting a replacement. They wanted the IMEI Number, so I removed the back and battery and read it off to them. I went through the whole process and a replacement is on it's way.
RIGHT after I got off the phone with AT&T I picked up my Tilt, put the battery back in and the back cover back on and, just for the hell of it, pushed the power button.
Son of a ***** powered right up and is now working fine!
I immediately called AT&T to cancel the shipment of the replacement phone and was told that once an order was placed it couldn't be stopped but they would note in their system that I no longer needed the phone and to ship it right back when I received it.

Kaiser won't power up completely

I installed the Diamond Series L26 ROM and ran it fine for about 4 days. Then with no reason I can find windows started to respond badly and the screen didn't build up like it should.
I did a soft reset and after the phone came up. But after I entered my pincode the windows pretty quick gave a battery warning and went dead again. While I was pretty sure I had enough battery.
So at home I pluged it in (wall socket, original charger), the amber light went on. I booted it again and still no go. So I left it pluged in and waited a while it was 'charging'. But it still didn't react when I wanted to turn it on.
When I removed it from the charger and turned it on it booted again with the same result as the first time. I checked two text messages and the battery warning came again, and the phone turned itself off again.
After a couple of tries I tried a hard reset. No difference. Now my phone will boot until the message shows it is going to go back to factory settings, I hear a beep and it turns itself off.
I tried:
- Reinsert the battery (left it out overnight)
- Tried entirely different battery (fully charged)
- Plugged it in the original charger
- Plugged it in without the battery
- Took out SD card
- No SIM card inserted
- 'Powercharge' the battery with wires to the plus and minus contacts
- Rapidly pressing the battery against the contacts on the phone hoping to 'revive'something.
- Tried my battery in a different phone > it was fully charged.
Can it be the software thinking the battery is dead while it isn't?
...... help
Is a bump alowed the next day?
Anyway, is my problem that obscure...? Or is my post too long?
I don't want to know what T-mobile will ask for the repair without any waranty.

Nope. Just the L26 Kaiser Diamond ROM.

Yeah, but I know what happeneds next:
"We see you installed another ROM. Therefore voiding your warranty. That wil be EUR 300."
I am trying to avoid that scenario.
But perhaps I wasn't as techsavy as I thought. I read this in another post:
Steps before running the upgrade:
1. take out the battery to make the phone go off, unplug usb cord if you have it plugged to your pc.
2. put battery back in
3. Press and hold the camera button all the way in, then press the power button while still holding the camera button.
4. This will make your phone boot in to tri-color screen.
5. Now look at the bottom white area, when it says USB, connect your phone to your pc through usb cord.
6. Now you can just go ahead, open the rom you just downloaded and follow the steps.

That sounds like it is still an option for me as well. I was under the impression I wouldn't be able to reflash my phone because it wouldn't power up. I can try this, right?
hmm, maybe try that or flashing from the SD card. Either way go for broke, if you need to screw the phone up to the point that they can't tell what rom you have then go for it.

Tytn II possibly dead HELP!!!

It looks like my Tytn II might be bricked... I have searched and searched and can not find any info on this. The phone will not turn on. I know the battery is dead, but it should have the power to try to boot. In fact, I have not used it in a while and I just tryed to boot it, it got to the starting screen, then the windows loading screen, and then I walked away for a few minutes and came back it and it was a black screen. Tried to turn on again and it did not power up. Upon plugging it into the charger, I get a solid red light on the top. When I remove the battery from the phone as the charger is connected the LED immediately changes to solid orange, and the blue led next to it comes on as well. When I disconnect the charger all the LEDs go off (obviously because theres no battery) and when i put the battery back in the phone i get a dim red light.
is the phone bricked? im thinking it might have slight water damage but it has been like 2 weeks since then so it should have dryed up i assume. tried to reset a few times with the little reset button next to the charger port, nothing. is it possible the battery may just be done for? any help or suggestions would be great. thanks.
I had that isue but i just leaved the phone on charger and everything came back to normal It's still working very well. But, i cant remember how i get into that situation but i surely know that i saw red light on top .
thanks, now that its been on the charger for a while i now get an orange LED. i will let it charge for a while and see if it awakens after almost 3 weeks of utter deadness.
Try waking it while on charge itslef.

just tried and it got to the very first boot screen and then went black and the orange and blue LEDs stayed on. tried to reset, no luck. unplugged charger, still LEDs stayed on. so then I took the battery out, all LEDs went out, plugged it back in and now i get the same red LED again.
update: now i get a orange LED as its plugged into the charger, but when i try to turn it on it gives the first boot screen for like 3 or 4 seconds then turns off...
I am getting exactly the same problem?
I tried to install android - got it working, came on a few times - then just totally died - It showt he HTC boot logo, but then just turns off.
Does anyone have any ideas.
does your computer see it when plugged in via usb?
perhaps this will help? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358136
oh and also you have tried to enter the bootloader mode right?
I've had this issue, millions of times. What I do when I have problems like this (and problems like when I turn it on, it says the battery is low when it isnt, and when you connect your charger/USB, it dies on you)
Try removing and putting the battery back on.
so in simple words
charge the battery first (dont bother trying to turn it on)
and then remove the charger (this plays a big role)
take out the battery, put it back in, hope it works.
The same thing just happened to me, I thought it was toast. I would get the red light when I plugged into the charger, and after a few minutes it would turn to orange. I tried to turn it on then, and it would start to boot up, then shut off a few seconds later. This happened a few times. I just left it plugged in overnight, and when I woke up it was on! Only problem I've noticed is the orange LED is always on, but I can live with that

AT&T Tilt 8925 - At a Loss - please help

I have spent 2 hours looking at forums and none have solved my problem. I will try and state as best possible of what is and what has happened.
When I take the battery out and plug in the charger, it displays a red light at the top left. Sometimes, depending on how long I wait, when I put the battery back in, it either has no lights or turns to Orange. Once, when it turn to Orange, I did a soft reset and it went to the white AT&T screen and just stayed there. I hit the soft reset again and it went to the Red, Green, Blue and White Screen. After seraching, I found out that it was called the bootloader screen. But on mine, there is no writing whatsover, like serial or whatever...just the color bars. When I try and plug it up to the usb on my computer I get nothing. It looks like it will not soft reset unless I put the battery back in and the light goes Orange, that's the only timw it will do it. If I put the battery in and it turns the red light off...it will not do anything...nothing.
Can somebody PLEASE help me try and figure out what to do here? I don't think I will be able to load anything on it since nothing happens when I plug in the usb to the computer.
Thanks for taking the time for listening. And also, I have not loaded anything for 2-3 weeks now onto the phone and this just happened late last night. Thanks again!
Monty
Update...had the battery out and nothing plugged into it for about 30 minutes. Put the Battery in, it powered up, went to the first AT&T screen and immediately went back dead again. If I put the battery in and hook it to the charger, it doesn't charge...so I don't think it is the issue with a dead battery...maybe?
PLEASE HELP...Can't really afford another phone right now.
Sounds like you need a new battery.
But should it power up with the phone charger plugged in...good battery or not?
I don't think so, these phones are pretty strange when it comes to bad batterys. Hopefully you know someone with a tilt that you can swap batterys with.
Even if the battery is dead, it should still start the phone and not go into boot loader. Do you have the OEM or a custom ROM? YOu may also want to try and hard reset. Press and hold the 2 dash buttons down (the ones above messages and internet); the while holding them down, insert the stylis into the reset hole, and let the phone reset. once it resets and goes to the hard reset gray screen, let go of the dash buttons. Then when it asks if you want to reset, press the green send button and let the phone hardrest.
If the battery is dead, and will not charge, the phone should not turn on (at least that was my experence, when I had a bad battery). This is just very wierd
Update #2 - I just went to Batteries Plus and they checked the Battery and said it had absolutely nothing...maybe those times it came up completely drained it.
So I forked out $40 bucks for a new battery and they told me to fully charge it before use. So I put it in the phone, plugged the charger into the phone and it looks as though nothing is happening because there are no lights on whatsoever...itsn't there supposed to be?
I have the OEM Rom.
Should I try the hard reset even though the new battery is not fully charged yet?
I wouldn't.
Your phone might be so dead that it doesn't charge the battery, I've seen this in laptops and other devices.
Update 3 - Since it looked as though nothing was happening, I tried the power buttong and nothing...so I took the battery back out, and the red light came on with the charger only plugged in. I tried to put the battery back in a few times and I finally have an orange light lit up while the battery is in and pluuged up to the charger...does that mean it's charging? The light will turn green once fully charged, correct? Anyone know about how long that would take if that's the case?
turn it on, it's a lithium ion battery, it doesn't have a memory.
It's plugged into the charger, orange light is on, but when I press and even hold down the power button, nothing happens????? UGGGHHHHHH
Should I try a soft or hard reset? Want to ask before I do.
Okay...I did a soft reset and it boots up now....for 3 time it went all the way to the main screen and then rebooted itself...now when it rebooted it went to the Red, Green, Blue and White bar screen. There is no writing on the screen, just color bars. Any suggestions?
Just to say... I don't think it's a good idea to have the phone plugged in without the battery...
