kjam - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

i
it is the first time that I write here, but liked to know which the best remote control for kjam it.
thanks

i use pocket controller version5;2 and i enjoy it

Oh, NetRemote from Promixis just rules!

What's the maximum distance you can get between your K-JAM and your TV or entertainment device? I ended getting a Dell Axim x50v as a spare, and man, that serves as a kick-ass remote control!

with this software this to function in k-jam ?

TV remote control function for XDAIIi?

Is there any software (freeware preferrably) which enables XDAIIi to be used as a TV or Stereo remote control?
Novi Remote
Vito Remote Control
Thanks very much!! Will check them out!!
Hi Arman, installed both vito and Novii remote control software but couldnot get them to work with any of my home systems (sony LCD TV, AIWA VCD, Panasonic VCR etc). Did you have any problem with initial setup?
Hi,
I use Novii Remote for my Goodmans/Sony/Aiwa/Yamada/Matsui items around the house, no problems.
The XDA IIi has a notoriously short IR range, have you tried holding the phone closer?
Did anyone ever try drilling away the plastic and seeing if that improved it?
G
Removing the plastic cover does make a difference (it just pops out with a bit of force apparently, from what I've read on other IR-related threads) - some people have said that range can increase from the measly couple of metres it has up to anything like 10 or at the most 15 metres!
I tried some but it wont work on my XDAIIi. Apparently need to program it with the original remote control first. Oh remember to "on" the "receive incoming beam" thingy.
Or else go get a Universal Remote Control, and wish you bump into one like the one Adam Sandler got in "Click"
Thanks guys!! Managed to turn my Sony LCD on and off at a very disappointing 0.5metre......which renders the remote feature USELESS!!! Do let me know if you have other smart ideas to increase the IR range.
ps: Willing to pay extra if the 'Universal Remote Control' exist-

TYTN II, worth to buy?

Hello everybody,
I have a question, maybe somebody can help me here?
I am using an Artemis and consider to buy a TYTN2. Is it worth to change? I know, this is a strange question but maybe somebody had a Artemis before and is now using a TYTN2.
I guess iGO will work on the TYTN2 as well, is somebody using this SW?
Thanx in advance,
Ralf
If you look at GPS, yes, unnlike the P3600 Trinity, you are ok with the Tytn II GPS: it has a working quick GPS program. According to GPSPassion.com, the GPS quality is significantly improved, equivalent to the SirfIII (which you have in Artemis). The unit is slightly fatter and heavier though. You also have no FM radio. I like the one-hand navigation possible through the jog wheel on the side and the ok button on the side, which opens the windows menu when pressed. The tilt is nice when you keep the unit on your office linked to the PC, because it's not lying flat on the desk, you can see on it very well. Also when you use it as an alarm clock near your bed. Last but not least: WM6 without overclocking...
funny that you visit a Kaiser/TyTN II forum and ask that question
iGO do work on the device ... it's basically the OS that you should referred to when dealing with SW
I use it without any problem ... infact, I preferred it over TomTom !!!
yes i know, sorry for that
i think i will go for the tytn2, i was just looking for opinions and for the confirmation that iGO is working without problems. i need iGO for eastern europe, tomtom is here not very strong in map availability
thanx to all

If the weight is not an issue for you
If you can survive to the lack of VGA screen for surfing...
Then go and buy one
It's all great !

Kaiser as a bluetooth keyboard ?

Hi All,
Been having a search around, but haven't found anything like this yet. Has anyone seen or know of an app/util that would allow me to use the Kaiser as a bluetooth keyboard for another device (for example, PS3) ?.
Just was thinking about this last night, could be a useful little toy in certain situations ?
Any ideas/pointers ?
Thanks,
M3t.
Well ...
There's another thread in KAISER ACCESSORIES which links to the $29 bluetooth keyboard being sold on Amazon (down from $149 from iGo which the thread starter spent instead).
Since the Tilt keyboard leaves a lot to be desired, perhaps spending this $29 would be more to your liking.

Not seen anything like that around, as jdmba says, for the amount of work required to produce an app for it, it would really be of no benefit apart from as you say, a 'Party Piece'
Only thing close I have seen is Rudeo's app that turns your phone into a remote for Windows Media Center/Player. Great in a hotel room when your Media Laptop is connected to the TV.
Soz, hope you have luck.
it require the bluetooth stack supporting that bluetooth profile
and ms bluetooth stack is not that fancy i fear

Alternative Use for Wizard

Like me, I imagine that for many of you a new phone may be on the horizon to replace the old wizard. Given the robust hardware and software that the wizard represents, I wanted to ask if any of you had any cool plans for an alternative (non-phone) use for the old boy?
Maybe a highend remote control?
Dedicated media hub?
i will use it as a navigation system
anybody else have any ideas?
It could be from the Wizard also a multimedia car radio building.
Only a new tinker hide, then the touchscreen einlassen and finally an adapter for the GPS navigation and the camera back to the basket as auto reversing camera
Geocaching GPS reader
Link it up with a bluetooth reciever and BAM! It's done.
Already use mine like that.
High end remote - the IR transmitter is pretty weak (compared to my old palm TX, which worked great as a remote). For the wizard I'd have to line it up with the TV's receiver and stand about 4 feet away - at which point I ask myself "Why Can't I walk the remaining four feet and change it myself?".
hmm. mobile wifi spot?

Ideal bluetooth for Athena x7500 / Dopod u1000

Hi everyone,
I have read through many threads about Bluetooth headset preferences. So I thought maybe it might be interesting to find out what is the most popular bluetooth headset for the Athena x7500 / Dopod u1000.
How many are preferring "LG Style - I?"
How many are preferring "Jabra BT8010?"
How many are preferring "Itech clip?"
Others?
I don't have an athena but a TP and I LOVE my Jabra BT8010
AstainHellbring,
Thanks for your feedback. I think even though you don't have the athena x7500, your feedback will also be helpful as it will give some idea about the jabra bt8010 among pocket pc owners.
I bought the u1000 mainly for the purpose of using the pocket pc features just like the way i used my Dell Axim x51v. For my mobile phone needs I am using a separate sony ericsson k800i, a phone with excellent camera even until now.
And after about a year i am still very happy to use my u1000 for just its pocket pc features. It is very easy to input text using keyboard software like tengo or intellipad compared to my axim because of the large screen.
But because the dopod u1000 also has an inbuilt phone feature, from time to time I try to explore ways to see if there is any possibilities of using it not just for 3g/wifi internet browsing but also for phone communication. Then maybe i can let go of my sony ericsson k800i and use the u1000 as an all - in - one device. I will have to say that i might miss the k800 camera feature which i love so much.
Like many, i find that bluetooth headset might be the key but unfortunately the bluetooth headset is useful more for receiving calls. There is still a struggle to find a bluetooth that can offer reasonably good calling out solutions.
For this i can understand why the Jabra 8010 and the LG style-I appeals to most Athena x7500/u1000 owners.
The Jabra 8010 has a contact list feature and can hold about 20 phone numbers (good enough).
The LG Style - I has the feature that allows the user to dial phone numbers from the bluetooth set itself.
Most of the Other bluetooths can only call back the last number registered.
So it is interesting to know what solutions users of our lovely big pocket pc finally prefer since we have already been using it for quite sometime now.
Also microsoft voice command can allow you to ignore any contact list in the headset and just speak to your phone telling to to call whom ever or dial and tell it numbers or even launch applications with it
I am very tempted to buy the jabra bt8010 or Style-I. Right now the (not popular brand) bluetooth I am using cannot launch the microsoft voice command or the cyberon voice commander by pressing the multi function button (MFB) on the set. I read that many jabra users can do this easily and also because of the quality of microphone, it is easier for the software to understand what you are saying to it.
