Anyone have idea how to make my qwertz keyboard work in WWE - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

After I flash the MDA Vario into K-Jam WWE rom, the keyboard qwertz cannot work good. i.e. press Z, then get Y. So anyone have idea can we make the registry edit like MDA Pro, so that the qwertz also work good in WWE Rom?

try this:
4. for the german keyboard on english ROM
4a. get a registry editor (like Resco)
4b. search the Change the key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]
4c. edit - Layout in decimal to 66567

I am looking for this too .. but that key doesnt exist.
I did find:
\\currentcontrolset\control\keyboardlayout
active > 00000409
is this a value tot change ?
anyone knows the german code ?

I am looking for this too .. but that key doesnt exist.
I did find:
\\currentcontrolset\control\keyboardlayout
active > 00000409
I changed it to the settings on the german version
407
no result ...

Yes, I tried the same as you tried, still no use. I guess may be a *.dll or some files for German Keyboard layout is needed.

i think is it the file keybddr.dll in the windows dir, i can not try it
because i had no other version from the dll
regards, Peter

I have still an original German 9100 and see the file also the
compime.dll. They are different from the WWE ROM, but there is no way I can copy these files to try it.
Any idea ?

rename it on the ppc, then copy the other files ...
bye, Peter

as i remember ,
I can copy the file out after Super CID unlock

How can I find the keybddr.dll in my PPC? I cannot find it!

Finally find out, cannot delete or change or copy the keybddr.dll file, anyone knows how can we replace or change the file?

If you don't want to edit the registry manually try using Registry Wizard. It's available for download in the regular Wizard forum and has an option for keyboard layout.

1. Install the registry editor like Total commander ( http://ghisler.fileburst.com/ce/tcmdpocketarm.exe ) or Resco Explorer ( http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/downloads.asp ) to your Pocket PC
2. Open the program on your device and go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd].
3. Create New String Value (if you already dont have one with the name Locale)
4. Type in Value name: Locale
5. Type in Value Data: 0407 (as i have an german device. NOTE: You've to look in the "LCIDHex" column on this site: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/winxp/xp-lcid.mspx for fourther area codes)
6. Close the window by clicking on Ok
7. Exit the program
8. hold your powerbutton for a few seconds until you'll be asked if you really want to switch your device off, click on YES
IMPORTANT: DO NOT RESET DEVICE WITH STILUS BY PRESSING RESET BUTTON
9. Turn on your device and it should work.

You cannot copy/move/rename the ROM dlls. What you can do is to go to the ftp.xda-developers.com site, and perform a dumprom from the ROM images available on the site. To download dumprom and FAQ, goto wiki-xda-developers.com site and search for dumprom.
Bear in mind that if you then copy the new tapres.dll into the /Windows folder of your device, it exists as a run-time copy that the device manager will use instead of the original one in your ROM.
However, the new DLL cannot survive a hard-reset, and you must copy it back to the /Windows folder after a hardreset.
Last time, I think some of the drivers for Compact/Mini/JAM are customised for the hardware only. I'm not sure about taperes.dll, but you can try porting and see if it works. Good luck!
Anyway, here the tapres DLLs from a GERMAN ROM.
Thx alot for your help, i have found the graphic in the tapres.96.dll but i have only heard about a way to change the graphic by change the registry to a other dll...
Ok here an information for anybody who wants to create own skins for dialer on MDA3 and MDA Compact with Key Pressed graphic.
- modify the normal graphics with any graphic program
- extract the .ico files from the tapres.96.dll for example with "PE Explorer"
(Icon_Entry: 1 is for Standard and 2 is for Landscape graphic (3 is sqre))
- modify the .ico for example with "axialis icon workshop"
- replace the icon files with "PE Explorer" and save the .dll to a new name like tapres.97.dll
- modify the Registry Key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone\IcoFil to your filename "tapres.97.dll (original its tapres.dll)
- softreset
Thats all ;-)

Boot screen is a 'special feature' addition for TuMa v1.4. It was to try and comfort people with a nice boot screen since everyone panics with the colour bars. TuMa v1.4 was also designed to be a 'feature rich' out of the box solution ... but the feedback I've had has been to go the other direction.
Anyways ... if you want to have the bootscreen in ANY other ROM, all you need to do is the following:
You'll find the application and TuMa v1.4 Bootlogo attached in the ZIP.
To make it run at startup, just include the following registry entries, and place the files from the ZIP in /Windows directory.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init]
"Depend32"=hex:14,00,1E,00
"Launch32"="BootLogo.exe"
Once you've done that - any of the other CABs I created can then be used, or just replace the BootLogo.bmp file. You will need to ensure that the BMP file is in the SAME format as the example. 8 bpp, and same file size & resolution if you want to change it. That's all that is required.
so short explaination:
1. Make a BootLogo.bmp or use default WM5
2. Copy BootLogo.exe and BootLogo.bmp to \Windows
3. Crete these registry entryes into registry
4. Reboot
how do i do step 3 ... how do i create registry into registry as there r no steps mentioned.. pls advice
Download `total commander` for ppc (google it)
in total commander (TC), go to the top (the root) directory `\` and you should see a `\\`. Double click it and go to `registry`
You should see something like
HKCR
HKCU
HKLM
where HKLM is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
do your guess work from there

I copied the BOOTLOGO.exe and BOOTLOGO.bmp to the Windows Directory.
I added the String value LAUNCH32 VALUE BOOTLOOGO.exe
that way easy
with the Binary when i add DEPEND32 on the VALUE there's already 0000 and i can only input after that... anyway after doing that...
resco doesnt ask for saving anything.. so i close the folder and when i reopen it the new value r there... i restart but no bootlogo.
don't know what am i doing wrong.

Mr. Clean 2.24a AKU2.3 Rom with Dutch language (how-to)

Today I had some talks with Risidoro and Asukal about changing languages on Roms without upgrading to a whole new Rom.
Risidoro introduced me to Asukal after a question from me about Rom Cooking.
After some talking with Asukal about his "UI Language Switch Program" for Universal he gave me some files that I tested a few times.
Right now I am running a fully stable Mr. Clean 2.24a AKU2.3 Rom with dutch language, so for all dutch folks, here you go...
UPDATE: Right now I am running the latest 2.26 T-Mobile Rom, without problems!
[EDIT FRIDAY, 28th JULI]:
FINAL INSTRUCTIONS (for now....)
Definitive instructions to change the English Mr. Clean 2.24a AKU2.3 Rom into the Dutch language
- Install the Mr. Clean Rom
- Install these 5 files, I installed everything to the Main Memory, I advice you all to do the same!
1) Wizard_AKU2_NLD_mui_Tool.cab
2) NLD_Notifications_WIZ.cab
3) NLD_Today_113.cab
4) DUT_SMS.cab
5) NLD_Registry_Changes.cab
- Soft-reset your Wizard by turning it off and on (not with the Soft-Reset button!)
- Run through the (Dutch) Welcome Screen for screen alignment etc.
- Go to Settings -> Regional Settings (Instellingen -> Landinstellingen) and set it to Nederlands
- Delete the file \Windows\initobj.dat and rename \Windows\welcome.lnk to something like welcome.bak.lnk
- Delete the folder "\Program Files"
- Delete the folder "\Windows\Fonts"
- Delete the folder "\Windows\Favorites"
- Delete the folder "\Windows\Programs"
- Delete the folder "\Windows\Start Menu"
- Delete the folder "\Windows\Start Up"
- Delete the folder "\Windows\PDFfonts" (optional, but I did it to get 2MB extra free space because I don't use ClearVue PDF!)
- Remove all English folders in \My Documents (EXCEPT THE TEMPLATES FOLDER, in this folder the Camera Templates will be stored!)
So you can delete the Camera Templates from \My documents\Sjablonen
- Soft-reset your Wizard by turning it off and on (not with the Soft-Reset button!)
- Run these 2 files (located in this thread, somewhere below on the 1st page)
1) MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Voice-CV-TMUS-060404.CAB
2) NLD_MMS_FOLDER.CAB
- Done!
Regards,
Molski
Realy nice!
Gonna try it and will let you know if I have the same issue
Wondering though.. ..Wil this also work on the AKU2.5 that is being developed here at the moment?
Not good, i cannot remove or rename welcome.lnk.......
Any suggestions, tried total comander and the windows explorer...
edit: Solved the problem on my own: First with total commander tap'nhold --> properties and disable the read only checkbox.
then goto shortcut tab and edit this to something....
then it is possible te rename..
Yeah not beautiful... but it works so what the heck....

It will work on AKU2.5 after some development from Asukal and some testing from me, offcourse when I got it working, you all will get it working
My litle contribution to this fantastic idea
For the Dutch T9 follow the next steps:
In the attachment are three files:
1 - dictprob.dat
2 - statdict.dat
3 - mssp2_nl.lex
Copy them to the \Windows dir and replace existing files.
Then make the following changes to the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Spell Check]
"Main_Dict"="\Windows\mssp2_nl.lex"
Restart your device and it should work like a charm
[edit]
The following location was not in my registry:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IA Style\IA CameraWizard(Pocket PC)\3.00\"
Second, I’m not able to rename or delete the Welcom.lnk
I’m using TotalCommander, and my device is decertified. When I change the properties or rename the file it looks like everything goes well. But when I refresh the file is still there.
[/edit]
Great contribution!!
The following location:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IA Style\IA CameraWizard(Pocket PC)\3.00\"
has to be:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IA Style\IA CameraWizard(Pocket PC)\3.00\Strings"
I'm almost ready with the CAB file that takes care of these registry changes, including the T9 stuff.

Uncheck the read-only for this file and then go to the properties and remove the entry, OR rename the file like I did to something as welcome.bak.lnk
Here it is, the CAB file with the registry changes, with the files for T9 including one extra file (autocorrect.txt) from a dutch Rom, for (I guess) spellchecking.
I installed the file on my device and got no problems, I don't wanna say it is 100% correct, but I really guess it is, so were heading for 5 final files for installing Dutch Language on EVERY Non dutch Rom
By the way...don't forget to delete the old English subfolders of My Documents guys
I love it to be Dutch
Looks great!
I don't mind that the welcome.lnk stays. It only lets you run the welcome screen once, in Dutch. After that it doesn't show up anymore.
I followed the instructions about the ReadOnly settings, but like I said it looks like it changes the name of the file. But after a refresh it's back again
Glad to be of some help concerning the Dutch spelling
I updated my NLD_Registry_Changes.CAB file.
Because the Camera has some problems, although I change the "Frames" string, every time you select a picture template the setting is resetted.
So the solution is to delete every English subfolder of My Documents EXCEPT for Templates (!!), but on the other hand, it's not a bad idea to have al the camera templates in a seperate directory
Where is the update cab file? is it the one posted above?

Yes, but please read the 1st again, I updated the post with final instructions (for now....)
I also tested this language Pack on the new T-Mobile 2.26 Rom and I can confirm it's also working on the new Rom.
My advice for now is, don't use the Mr. Clean Rom anymore, but the new T-Mobile 2.26 Rom and don't install the Extended Rom to keep it as clean as possible (or manually select what you want to install).
Hmmm... ..just came to tell you that I also run the latest T-Mobile ROM in Dutch now. No problems so far! 8)
I really find it very cool that we don't have to wait anymore for Roms in dutch!
We just grab the latest WWE Roms and turn it into Dutch, no problem
The Mr. Clean Rom was cool to test with, but I'm happy with the 2.26 Rom.
are there any other languages?
Nope, not explictit for the Wizard, only for Universal.
These packages that I am using now were custom created by Asukal especially for the Wizard!
is it possible to do the same thing for french ?
@Molski
I think you can also remove "\Windows\Favorites" Because there is a directory called "Favorieten" for the Dutch users

Successfully changed keyboard

I successfully flashed my HTC P4350 with the latest PDAVIET rom and changed the software and hardware layout to skandinavian keyboard
Here's how:
1. Download the attached cab file. It changes the software layout of WM to skandinavian layout. This will however kill the nice graphics of WM6. Anyone maybe able to work a bit on this?
2. Start total commander and add the following registry key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"Locale"="0414"
Do a soft reset (hold the power button, dont touch that reset button with the stylus), and voila
Edit: "danish-qtek.zip" includes danish dictionaries for the standing text input and pocketword. Copy these to your \windows folder and soft reset the device
ehmmm did you create that cab yourself? Can you create one for dutch / us-int thats 413 I think
fantastic, works like hell...first sollution that I tried on the hardware keyboard that works for me...thx man

Sadly no, it's something i dug up somewhere, i believe it was made by www.epocket.no. It basicly just replaces the english files with nordic files from WM5. If you could find these files from another language and copy them over the english files in WM6, it should work.
I included danish dictionaries in first post now aswell
Dutch keyboard locale
After trying the official dutch 0413, it seemed to be an english keyboard.
So I use 0809 now, and the keyboard seems to be in order now.
For Dutch keyboard:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd] locale = 0809
thank you my friend
Sry, but have to ask...
How do you make the registry key? I got new key, new string value, DWORd and all sorts of options...

Vodafone Live!

Hi,
Does anyone now how to get the Vodafone Live portal with mobile tv working for my S730???
Many, many thanks!
Jaspar
you can't (yet) because they say it's not supported yet for the S730.
So you can wait or you can tweak your browser (surf google)
anyone knows how to change the USER AGENT string from IE then??
Is there still no solution to this problem? I even changed my browser.dll to get the N95 User Agent string, but its still not working.
I've been trying to get the browser.dll to modify but it seems to be unable to be modified or even copied to my PC to be edited?
Could this be simply because it is security locked?
How did you copy the browser.dll to your PC and then back again after you'd modified it?
I finally made it work!
I finally can use Mobile-TV and Vodafone Live on the S730. Here are my settings. (sorry this is for the german OS)
1. Connections->GPRS
Name: Vodafone live!
Verbindet mit: Büro
Zugriffspunkt: wap.vodafone.de
2. Connections->Proxy
Name: Vodafone live!
Verbindet Von: Büro
Verbindet Mit: WAP-Netzwerk
Proxy: 139.7.29.1:80
Typ:http
3. Settings->GPRS Authentifikation
CHAP
4. Streaming Media->Optionen
Verbindung über:Büro
5. Internet Explorer->Options->Connection
Network: WAP-Netzwerk
6. copy attached browser.dll to Smartphone/windows folder
->overwrite old file
7. change registry-key
HKLM/Security/Internet Explorer/User Agent->Values „Custom“:
String „Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Mercury/1.20.162.3/Mozilla/4.0“
After this steps vodafone live works for me.
Do I copy all the details literally to my S730 or do I need to modify to English first?
How its possible to change dlls. I didn't see this files in th explorer of Windows Mobile on the HTC S730. And I have no permissions to edit this file in Windows Vista when the phone is connteced...
Did everything, but when i start Pocket IE i get the warning that the program is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate.... how can i change this????
Ok, I got this warning too (in another forum they say this is because of the changed checksum of the dll), but I was able to select OK (or continue) and then it worked for me.
To get the dll was a little bit more complicated (it took me about 5 hours and a lot of Google, but if you know how to cook a ROM it will be easier for you) because you have to dump the original ROM from your phone. I used the information from here
and here But you have to add a blocksize parameter to the pdocread.exe-tool, (I think it was "-b 0x800") to be able to read the ROM data.
After the whole dumping of the ROM you have all the original files from the ROM on your pc.
But I hope this dumping is not necessary for you because the browser.dll should be nearly the same for all languages (the only issue is that the Pocket IE recognize that this file was changed, but it should start afterwards). I even tried a browser.dll from tytn II and the IE started (but the softkeys didn't work then) By the way, if you want to restore the original browser.dll simply delete the modified one and the the smartphone will get the original one from the ROM of the phone.
I hope anbody else will be sucessful with this whole vodafone-live issue, because for me it was definitely worth the trouble (especially because of CNN-mobile tv).
Sorry for my bad English, I try to give my best to make me understandable.
I forgot one thing. When I opened the registry I had two values under HKLM/Security/Internet Explorer/User Agent, I think it was "custom" and "custombase". I deleted "custombase" and changed "custom" to „Vodafone/1.0/HTC_Mercury/1.20.162.3/Mozilla/4.0“. So now I only have one value there.
I have done everything mentioned in the post from Miffmaster above including replacing the browser.dll (had to copy it to my storage card first and then used Resco Explorer to copy it to the Windows folder as it wouldn't let me overwrite directly to the Windows folder from my PC)
I have also changed the user string and GPRS, Proxy settings etc...
Now when I start Internet Explorer I get "Access Denied. This program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate" and the only option is OK with ends the program!!!
Is there a workaround for this or have I done something wrong?
Maybe you could try change the following registry value to "1":
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1
This should give you permission to run unsigned certificates. (see here
What WM version are you using, 6.0 or 6.1? Because my browser.dll came from the original 6.0 Standard ROM.
I'm using the cooked WM6.1 and when I checked, the policies dword was already set to 1 unfortunately!
I don't really want to go back to 6.0 as 6.1 is much faster in general.
Anyway, why should that make a difference to Internet Explorer which is almost certainly the same version anyway???
Have you considered moving to 6.1 yourself and re-doing the browser.dll if you think it will be different?
