TMO UK Ship ROM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Ok so I'm going to ask the dumb question (I have searched but can't find an answer). In the discussion on the general Wizard forum re BB Connect someone has it working using the TMo UK Ship ROM and the german BB Connect download. I have tried to install the UK Ship ROM from the downloads but it detects that my Wizard is a QTEK and not a TMo unit and refuses to install. Is there a way around this? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I'm assumign the silence is because I have asked something incredibly stupid. Well, I've searched the Wiki, I've done quite a few ROm updates successfully to date, my device is unlocked and I can't find any anwser to my question. Hopefully one of you will take pity long enough to give me a response
:?

So I ran the CID unlock lokiwiz for the hell of it and still cannot install the ROM, get the message Invalid Vendor ID. Any posts I've found seem to suggest running lokiwiz to unlock the CID should solve this but I'm still not there - any suggestions?

only thing I can come up with is the cid unlock . . . but you seem to have tried that (followed all steps I suppose?). . .

Help would be appreciated... New MDA to upgrade

Hi Guys,
Firstly, i am new to this - so if i ask any stupid Q's, please forgive me
I will be getting my MDA Vario tomorrow, and before i do too much customisaton and transfer my phonebook over, i would like some advice on upgrading.
From reading this Forum, i believe that I have to do a CID unlock and a SIM unlock. I am familier with a SIM unlock, but what it a CID unlock?
Also, from what i can gather, in order to do this - i have to downgrade to an older version of the rom first. Once i have done this and unlocked the device, does anyone have any recomendations on what ROM i should upgrade it to? I have heard the Qtek rom is a good one, but will is this the best one to be going for?
Thanks for your input guys. You can be asured, once i get familier with this device i shall be providing much imput to this forum!

Hi, I'm new to WM5/vario as well (experienced on palms & treos).
You only need to unlock the wizard if you want to use another suppliers SIM card, and to get rid of the T-Mobile stuff you need to remove the Carrier ID (CID), so you can then change the rom to another one not recognised by your TMobile rom.
I understand, but could be wrong, that you only need to down grade if your device already has one of the latest a2dp stereo roms with push email built in.
Hope this helps (if I'm right)!!!

Cing 8125 CID unlock help needed

I have searched these forums for the last three hours, and I have not been able to find any answers to questions I have about CID unlocking.
1. I bought my 8125 on 3 July 2006.
IPL/SPL 2.25
GSM 2.25.11
OS 2.25.11.1
How can I tell if this phone is CID unlocked? I found a lot of people saying that IPL's ending in .0001 cannot be CID unlocked, but I don't have that.
2. Once I've determined if it's locked, but unlockable, how do I do it? I was surprised to find, after searching over 75 threads, the only thing I found wa that I gotta send it to England and pay a bunch of $, but only if I have .0001 IPL.
I want to install the Cingular AKU2.3 ROM, hoping to fix a problem with my phone where it freezes every time I use IE for more than about 5 minutes. I'm already on my second one, and I don't want to go through the hassle of another return (it took me a week to get a new one last time). I ran the installer, and it says I need to have a CID unlocked device, but then does nothing to tell me how to determine if it is or not.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
you phone isn't unlocked.
look for lokiwiz, threads are by a poster machinagod. These threads will be in the Wizard forum, not the upgrading forum.

HELP - UNLOCK T-Mobile MDA to work for Cingular

I am a noob here, and i have no clue what the forum is talking aobut, can someone please help me, i need to unlock my T-Mobile MDA to work with the Cingular Service
Look through the threads. Lokiwiz has produced an unlocker that will unlock your MDA(SIM and CID). You will need to determine if you have a G3 or G4 and that will get you started:

Reda this also:

After you get it unlocked you may want to install one of the cooked roms that will make it perform better. I am currently using Molski's rom:

I was completely lost at first but within a few days I had mine unlocked and upgraded. Just keep reading.
Good luck!

invalid vender id error

hi there! just tried to run WWE stock rom update but get invalid vender id error. Does anybody know how this can be solved?
You will need to CID unlock your phone before you can flash non-OEM ROMs. As far as I can tell from the Jade ROM Development thread, HardSPL does not yet exist for the Jade.
ok, thanks! Guess I'll have to wait another while for it then...
CID unlocking
hi, anybody around who has a tool / knows how to CID unlock a jade?
The device is pretty new and it takes time for someone to figure out a way.
Other hand, I dont think Olipro or other senior members would get this device just for CID, SIM unlocks and Hard SPL.
So maybe you guys may need to wait a little longer..

Carty..

[Q] Partially Bricked HD7 / Cotulla's HSPL installed

So,
Here is what happened, I've got an HD7 that has been laying around my office for months, it was actually never used and it has never been updated.
Unfortunately I lost my previous phone and I decided to use that one, but... It was carrier locked to T-Mobile and I did not want to either purchase or beg t-mobile for a code.
Next thing I did was to carefully read every post I could find regarding HD7 carrier unlocking and found myself with only one option: Install a custom ROM on my phone.
The phone had the SPL 1.20 so I decided to install Cotulla's HSPL and then install a Custom ROM, but it failed twice to flash the device, once at 20% and then at 80%.
Right now the Phone goes right into the bootloader screen (It does show cotulla's HSPL as installed) after a short load atempt (obviously the OS is only partially installed).
Im looking forward to get advise on how to install the custom ROM and what I might be doing wrong.

well if you can get to the bootloader screen...why don't you install a custom ROM using Task29 ?? that should work...
Well, I tried to install the factory ROM but it fails as well, it always gets stuck at some point beyond 80%.
I was able to install Deepshining ROM, but the sim lock remains... I guess I will have to buy an unlock code. ¿Can someone tell me what is the site site to buy one?

You don't have to buy the unlock code. Call T-Mobile, ask for technical support (bypass customer service, it will take too long), and request the unlock code. Have the IMEI # for your phone available. They will email the unlock code to you usually within 24-48 hours. I did this last month and got the code the same day.
