I have problem with backup battery - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

I have O2 XdaII i Back up Battery 100% on screen but i remove main battery then i insert main battery into the phone it run customizing.
Someone know help me!!

I have same problem my friend
I have the same issue. I called O2 support and they told me that i need to change the backup battery. It must be the hardest battery to find and once you do find it you have to hope that that is the issue and not something else. Here is the only link it the 'world' i was able to find and I believe this is the battery we're after (copy the whole link in the IE or it will not work):
http://www.services.foxconn.com/store/Product.asp?Category.Id={015B5282-CC34-4E0D-BD91-D97EB366CA9A}&Product.Id={9372B82C-A96C-494D-8F9E-BFFD3EF70E2B}
Let me know how you went with this.

It looks like a button cell / hearing aid battery...

Not sure, if shown battery will fit. I didn't dig Alpine, but Himalaya has Maxell CR2016 rechargeable lithium battery.

XDA IIi backup battery
As far as I know there is no separate 'hearing aid' type back up battery for the XDA IIi - it uses persistant something or other - i.e. it draws power from hte main battery and uses Flash Ram. I have a regular problem reporting backup battery low if I have charged the battery separately from the XDA on the cradle and then inserted it - It seems that the back up only charges when the XDA itself is put on the cradle

As I know its not CR2016 but ML2016
CR type is not a rechargeable one

question on wm6 and battery

Hi all,
I have installed the WM6.1 ROM 6.1.2a16CS by C. Shekhar on my qtek2020.
It is very cool and gave a second life to my qtek. I am just a bit surprised by the duration of the main battery. It is running out of bat very fast.
As I haven't used my qtek for month before installing the new ROM, I can't tell if it's a battery problem or because this new ROM is consuming more resources. Have you noticed such behavior on your machines?
For further info I am not using my qtek as cell phone. I am thinking about using it back as a phone, but I have first to fix this battery aspect.
Moreover I have read s/t about a battery fix, that I haven't installed yet. Can s/o tell me more about this fix and what it is doing?
Anyway this ROM is a great one.
Thx for your answers
Marc
I dont know about the battery fix but i have never installed any sort of fix like that either for wm5 or wm6.x. Are you sure there isnt some background process that keeps on continuously running? It could be a battery problem if the battery had discharged alot during the non-operational period. I changed by himas battery about 7-8months back because the last battery had gotten abit too old and was discharging very quickly.
i think you are talking about SD card fix..its a registery fix that makes the battery consumption by SD-card low
well, WM5 and WM6.x IMHO are battery consuming ROMs, i can attest to this,
experiment no. 1:
same xda, same battery (1200mAH original battery)
-with WM2003SE at normal use, XDA turns off approx after 36 hrs of use including standby.
-with WM5 and WM6.x, XDA turns off WM5-18hrs, WM6.x-25hrs of use including standby.
experiment no. 2:
two xda, different OS, both with brand new 3600mAH extended life battery.
in 1 day (at heavy texting use from 7am to 7pm):
WM2003SE XDA2 - battery from 100% to 58%
WM6.X XDA2 - battery from 100% to 35%
possible explanation:
WM6.x (WM5) uses more CPU time and Memory resources, plus it probably uses more power in maintaining the persistent storage, hard and soft reset persistent memory.

Ather, is this fix already in all/most recent releases? If not, can you give us a link? Never heard of it.
I have no battery problems, quite the contrary. My battery life is amazing me. To be honest I tweaked a lot when I started using WM6.x, too much to remember, too much to tell you.
but some parts:
I don't need 24/7 phone connection, Phone Alarm takes care of this for me
Use a bare minimum of today plug-ins
Avoid animations
Close programs except when you seriously do need them in the background
Heya Maggy...its long time since i saw u here.. think maybe month
welcome back ny ways
well that fix was in the Imate website..i have it
having some problem attaching on xda : http://www.2shared.com/file/3591354/873d3f18/SD-Card_Patch.html

Battery indicator shows "Unknown"

Hi guys !
May be someone could help me with this.
Since the original Diamond battery was too "small" I've ordered an enhanced battery, 1800 mAh, from Easy Devices UK.
Everything went fine with my 1.37 ROM.
But then, after upgrading to the 1.93.831.1 WWE ROM, I have the following problem: the battery indicator shows a battery with an exclamation sign on it and when I go to "Settings\System\Power", instead of displaying the remaining battery charge, it only displays "Unknown"!
This happens only with the 1800 mAh battery (with the 900 mAh one, it works fine).
The 1800 mAh battery can be normally charged (but I have to guess when it's full, because I have no indicator) and then normally used (but , I don't know how much is left, which is very unpleasant.
Did anyone of you have this ? Is any way around ?
Thanks,
Matei
Hi guys !
Exactly the same issue for me (except I have never tested it on original ROM, directly on a new SwiftBL cooked ROM). battery bought from GPSForLess via eBay.
As MateiF said, it's seem it's a ROM issue as battery works correctly on 1.37 ROM.
So, does-it exist a workaround or a special file/driver for new 1.93 ROM ?
TIA

Hi guys!
I have exactly the same problem with an Offical ROM upgrade!
would be great if someone could help us out, as its a pain in the backside not knowing how long your battery will last for!!
I'm having the same problem with a 2400 mah battery...
Got the same prob but wit added pain onto it
I too got the same above mentioned problem but added pain is that when my battery is over completely then it wont boot my phone on recharging and jus keep the phone on restart again and again.
Then i have to remove my battery off the phone and charge it on some external charger then only my phone can boot up.
Any suggestion for it.
Tx in advance
you all can try this application I hope it can help you

HTC Diamond battery dies without warning

I’ve get a HTC diamond from a friend and am having problems with the battery. I’m trying to figure out the best thing to do.
Generally I’ve found the battery is a bit low in capacity (as others have mentioned on the forum). But more recently I’ve found that the phone will suddenly die, without an battery warnings. The battery suddenly seems to be fully discharged.
I’m wondering if this is a problem with the battery (or more worringly) with the phone. Is there any battery monitoring software that might be informative? Or should I just buy a new battery and keep my fingers crossed?

You could try this for testing the battery:
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/benchmark/
You may need to check it against someone elses benchmark to get an idea of a problem or not. I think the battery test is a long one though as it has to run it down completely after a full charge.
You could try disabling any programs that automatically connect to the internet (eg. email) and I think there is a cab somewhere that will disconnect gprs/3g/hsdpa when there is no activity. If I find it I'll post it here.
I found that the Auto Adjust Backlight used up more battery than needed so just set it to the second marker on left (start > settings > system > power > backlight). I'm sure there are many more options to save battery power that are mentioned in other posts but I guess you have already been through them.
I found that a full discharge then a full charge while the phone is switched off completely (not in standby) helped a bit but not much.
There has also been some problems with peoples battery monitor not being accurate. Like it saying there is 25% battery when there is really 75% of power left. But this problem has been few and far between.
You can also go into your settings/notifications and set a notification to let you know when your battery is about to peter out on you.

Battery drain Problem [100% to 5, then shutdown]

I am trying to determine if I have a bad battery or it's the Android costing this issue. While using my Tilt I have wifi on and was using the apps (IE: Market, XDA, etc...) the battery indicated the full charge (or what I have left) drop to 5%. Sometime it will shutdown my Tilt first and when I boot it back up it indicated that I only have 5% or less battery power. That is within 5 minutes of use.
Do I need to get a new battery or is this problem with something else?
1. battery dead.
2. software problem. I have bought a tytn II with 30Euro because it had a problem with the battery. resoft and radio update made me happy. i have 2 tytn's working perfectly. one is for testing and the other one for every day use.

That is what I am try to determine, if I need to go out and buy new battery.
Battery status in the setting stated that the battery is in good condition.
What did you mean by resoft and radio?
In Android there should be an app called "Spare Parts" in the app drawer. Find this app, open it then select "Battery Information". Leave this up while charging because we need to see at what point the phone says it's charged. Normal charge level for ANY single-cell Li-Ion battery is 4.2 volts, no higher.
Once charged, disconnect charger and watch the battery voltage number. It should drop a little once off charge (maybe 4.1-4.0 volts). If it drops steeply, say 3.8 or less, your battery is bad and needs to be replaced.
It sounds like your battery is dropping WELL below the "rest" voltage sometime shortly after charging, indicating delamination inside the cell, an indicator of over charging.
I've studied quite a bit on how Li-Ion batteries work over the past year so if anyone should know, I would...
Good luck!!!
resoft = new firmware = new OS = etc
radio = 1.70.xx. = that thing required so that your tytn II work with android on it.

This is what I see while charging.
Battery Status: Charging (USB)
Power Plug: USB
Battery Level: 69
Battery Scale: 100
Battery Healthn: Good
Battery Voltage: 4177mV
Battery Temparature: 32.7c
It currently at 70%, I'll report back once it fully charged.

I think I have either 1.71 or 1.70 radio (can't really tell sicne I do not know where to look. I have tried different OS (IE: Scoot, Fat Free, etc...) Still the same problem.
One other thing, the phone keep shutting down in the middle of me trying to use it. So, I don't know if it is related to the battery issue I have or not.
Maybe simple solution will be the best solution Back to original system (win6.1) for one day and you will see what causing problems. If everything will be ok that you doing something wrong with android. If not-battery is dead or it is another hardware problem....
@ PoXFreak - After fully charged and the batttery voltage went from 4.2 (4217mV) to 3.9 (3990mV) in less than a minute. And it keeps dropping, after a few minutes it dropped to 3.8 (3808mV - 3855mV)

You need to reinstall distro after such flash, but this time without applying update.

OH! I'll keep that in mind. It's a little different than what I am used to. Thanks!
OK! I have flashed kernel 2.6.25. See if that will makes any different with this battery problem.

I used 2.6.25 in the past, good one so give it a try . Also, check that app I've shown you few posts ago, it shows battery usage in mA, show me your results, for me it's around 200 mA.
It looks like the battery still drain fast, it just dopped down to 1% and shutdown on me, I will download that apps once I have a chance.
BTW! How do I tell what version radio I currently have? I cannot find that info anywhere. The place where it usually will show me (Baseband version) only said HTC.

[Q] Massive battery drain

Hello everyone
I really would appreciate some help. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note i9220 bought from Finland. The battery life never was really good, but then the phone started to experience some heavy battery drain, I can't say exactly when or if after I did something. I am running the standard firmware with the newest update. Also the battery icon keeps flashing now and then. I thought that buying the MPJ 7000mAh battery would be the game changer, but the battery life is as bad as with the regular battery. I recovered the phone to factory settings, didn't help, tried to shift the MicroUSB-port connector in case it was contacting the frames and cleaning the port, didn't help, tried to remove the MicroSD card since I read something that card formatted with a older firmware could have some problems with the newer firmware, didn't help. It seems that there is no other way to stop the battery drain. Maybe my unit is just exceptionally bad? Thanks for any help.
Best regards
Northlogic VFX
Preliminary report showed that removing the MicroSD card enhanced battery life. Though still there is the problem of the battery icon flashing. My phone cannot enter the Deep Sleep state, and I think this is the reason and if it could, the battery life should be much longer.
I have seen this on the Note N7000 when the USB daughter board has been replaced with a cheap copy.
Do you also have problems with WiFi and/or Voice network signal strength either being low or fluctuating a lot (i.e. dropping then re-establishing connection)?
Do you have problems with the microphone? E.G. people not being able to hear you clearly?
The battery drain, microphone and/or signal problems were symptoms of a cheap copy daughter board.
Quite easy to fix though, get Samsung to replace daughter board (£35 UK service centre) or buy an original on the interweb and fit it yourself.

Hey FabreFaction, thanks for your message. The problems with my Wi-Fi has been hard to tell apart whether it's a connection problem in the phone, or just that the fact that the places I have been have had fluctuating connections. But I don't really have had any serious microphone and signal problems. I will be draining my battery out and fulfilling it to 100 percent and then check out the battery life in my normal usage. After removing the MicroSD card for test the battery life has been significantly longer.

It seems odd that the SD card would drain your battery significantly.
Difficult to comment on as I have run my N7000 with an SD card from day one.
The best thing you can do is install Better Battery Stats and post the log on the XDA thread for the experts to analyse for you.
They may be able to identify what is causing the drain you are experiencing.
It's worth reading through the OP on the thread before you get stuck into BBS.

I installed the Better Battery Stats now. It said that I should gather information for a few days. How do I actually post the log for others to see?

It's all explained on the BBS thread.
If you're not sure after reading the OP, post a question on the thread.

Sure thing, thank you!
So I have found that it is difficult to get the connection to the USB-port (the cord needs to be in pretty exact position for order to work), is this also an effect of the cheap USB daughter board copy? It should not be the cord, since it was pretty new when I bought it.
I too have same problem of heavy battery drain. Infact, my screen starts fluctuating as it reaches 40-30% mark and blackout all of a sudden. As i plug-in my charger it shows 0% battery.

I had exactly the same thing, the reported charge would drop from 50% to 2% in five minutes or after a restart. I replaced the battery and this completely solved it. I think the battery just could provide enough Ooomph when it was needed.
(FYI I bought a replacement on ebay for £4.99 claiming 3250 mAh "KinPS" battery. No idea what the real capacity is but it lasts easily all day on a charge now and no longer drops quickly).
try another microSD
The 16GB card I had in my Galaxy Note was around 4-5 years old, had been written to A LOT. It was a standard Sandisk card.
I was having all sorts of problems with it freezing up my phone on certain apps (I keep a lot of them on my ext card). After
moving a couple apps that were freezing back to the internal card, the problems stopped, but I was still having battery drain
issues. (back of phone would get hot, would not go to deep sleep etc).
I bought a NEW microSD, same size and copied everything from one card to the new card and haven't had any issues.
Battery life is improved. One other thing. The original card was also having issues with it working in my PC. Sometimes it
would read, other times it would not.
Might try a new card see if it helps also.
