Ringtones help - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I wanted to have mp3 and wav ringtones on my 8125 from my old files but i dont want to use the phone memory since all ringtones are being copied there .... i searched the forum and found this registry tweak in REGESTRY WIZARD thread :
Follow these steps to change the default ringtone location:
1) Locate
HKEY_CURRENT_USER ControlPanel Sound Categories RingDirectory registry key
2) Edit the default value of "WindowsRings" to "Storage Card"
3) Place those ringtones into Storage Card
i did that and i created the folder on my storage card but the files still dont show in sound section of my phone...
Can somebody guide me in the right direction?
thanks

Forget the registry hacks.
The only thing I did to use MP3 ringtones on my Wizard is this:
- Create a "My Documents" folder on your Storage Card (so you get \Storage Card\My Documents)
- Copy your MP3 ringtones to the My Documents folder.
Regards,
Molski
p.s. This does not work with Profile programs, for selecting different profiles, but it does work on a "standard Wizard"

this registry hack didn't work for me neither, can someone enlighten us, on how to use ring tones from the storage card?

worked!!!

Maps not found!

Hello,
Have installed TomTom 5.1 but the program does not find the maps located on my SD-card. Is there a setting somewhere to tell TomTom where to find the maps??
Finicky program.
from my blog, http://www.beyondthetech.com/blogs/kjam/2005/10/surefire-method-of-installing-tomtom.html
...
On your desktop, launch Notepad.
Type & \Storage Card\New-England_and_Mid-Atlantic-Map\ or whatever the name of your main map folder is on your mini-SD card. Do not forget to add the final backslash and a have a space between the ampersand and the first backslash.
Save the file as CurrentMap.dat. Make sure it doesn't end up as CurrentMap.dat.txt!
Create a folder on your K-JAM called \My Documents\TomTom.
Copy your newly created CurrentMap.dat file from your desktop into \My Documents\TomTom on your K-JAM.
...
Wierd...dosent work.
Have created the CurrentMap.dat -file and made sure that it does not have the .txt extension.
Have created the Folder /My Documents/TomTom and put the file there
As I have a Swedish version of OS I also created the Swedish version on that map...also tried to copy the file to the /program/Navigator folder where the exe file is located.
Have done a complete reboot but the program stil don't find the maps...
Also made sure the Path and spelling was correkt "& \Storage Card\Scandinavian-Maps\"
Is not Scandinavian.Maps but *.Map. Also you not have to create a folder My documents because this folfer already exists in PDA storage. Is a system folder.
Yeah, infact it says "& \Storage Card \Scandinavia-Map\" witch I have verified on the storage card to be the correct folder name.
And you are right..I did not created the acctual My Documents folder but the TomTom folder was created.
Have looked at a friends CurrentMap.dat file (where TomTom works) but there seem to also be some other data that the TomTom software probably creates...my guess would be it's binary data. Have tried to copy my friends file to my K-Jam but stil no success.
Same problem here, tried all options I can come up with, and as soon as I revert back to tomtom 5 the map is found again.
Which lead me to believe that the "currentmap.dat" file at least is correct, or have they changed somtething with it in v 5.1 ?
fahlis: The update doesn't change anything in \my documents\tomtom folder.
Sedvese: my curentMap file is as follows: \SD Card\Iberia_Plus-Map\
If you want I can sen you the file, you open it with notepad and replace Iberia_Plus-Map by Scandinavia-Map. Who knows it can fix your problem.

my documents at astorage card

please help me
how i configure that the folder my documents will be store at my storage card.
thanks
Don't think there's a way to configure the location of the default "my documents" folder location. If you want to save files to card, you have to manually select the destination folder.
For those ancient apps that don't offer a folder dialogue for you to choose from, I vaguely remember that replacement DLL that you could use to replace the standard save dialog to include folder selection. But I don't recall it's name now.

Forget it, it was on old trick I wrote very fast... but it doesn't work on my trinity....
PS:
Ok. On my trinity WM6 the following trick works:
You need something like Total Commander CE, PHM Registry Editor or any other tool to modify registry. Be careful.
Change
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\File Explorer\LocalPath
in
\Storage Card\My Documents
This affect just any file explorer window

I haven't tried (reflashed yesterday) but that setting (in HKCU) change only the initial directory of explorer, so it should have any effect on active sync.
The setting in HKLM seem to have no effect, so there is no need to change the active sync folder...
PS: I'm wrong, yesterday my active sync backup worked so I've tried...
Ciao

MS Voice Command 1.6 over Bluetooth - Internal Storage Card

Installation
VoiceCommand over BT works by default when you install to "main memory".
If you install on storage card, you must use the following Trick:
Copy vcbthag.dll file from \Storage Card\Program Files\Voice Command\ to the \windows directory.
Open registry editor to: HKLM\software\microsoft\bluetooth\audiogateway\
- Edit the key: BTAGExtModule
- Set the value to \windows\vcbthag.dll
Power down your device and reboot.
Works smoothly on my Diamond. NO other Edits needet!!!
PS: Sound comes from my Headset! (Found at HTCWiki)
PPS: You have to do it over ActiveSync - otherwise you won´t find the DLL!!
Cheers

The Camera saves all images in the Folder \Storage Card\My Documents
I have edit the Value "Save Folder_0409" and "Gps_Save_folder_0409" Registry at "HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Image\ in "..\Pictures"
And in "HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P1.....P10\ the Value "Save Folder" but nothing has changed.....
Have anyone an Idea????
Hardware: HTC Touch Diamond
Software: WM 6.5 custom ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506533
Thanks

i have the same question.
Have you tried Advanced Configuration Tool? I know it's possible to change standard folders there.
Erm, on Diamond it's not "Storage Card" but "Internal Storage"!
Apply the "Save on Storage Card" tweaks as usual and edit the pathes manually with a Registry Explorer!
I don't know if you guys have already solved the problem, but here is what I had to do in order to get a custom folder working:
The default language of my Diamond is Portuguese (0816), but I'm using Brazilian Portuguese (0416) in TF3D, so I've created a SaveFolder_0416 entry along with the original SaveFolder_0816 in "HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Image", made a soft reset and it worked!
I hope this can help you!
You can easily change the path of the saved pictures and video to \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures, just edit the registry:
HKLM\software\htc\camera\General
and change EnableDCIM from 1 to 0. And done

how to add my own ringtone?

i'm using galaxy si 9003. how to add my own ringtone??
Play the file using music player and on the menu Set as then you will get option for that...
ok tq...can you help me where can i fine the ringtone folder??
Just create these folder structures on your sd card:
/media/audio/notifications/
/media/audio/ringtones/
and put your sound files there. System will automatically add them to the selection.
