New Wiki: Case Replacement Instructions - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I have started a new Wiki entry with directions of how to replace your BA case. My slider snapped so I had to buy a new case. I'm still in the process of replacing it but I started putting up instructions.
If you have done this before, please contribute to the Wiki entry so we can have complete info out there for others that have a need to do this!
Here it is:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_CaseReplacement

This page is also around alas it lacks the photos

Wizard Upgrading for Newbies!

Hi all,
There was so much information all over the place (different threads, wiki, etc.), that I decided to create one page to pull it all together. The page can be found here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard Windows Mobile 6 for newbies
If there's something wrong, something I missed, something you want to add, etc., be my guest and put it in. However, please do not link to other pages. I want to specifically avoid a proliferation of links that will leave a newbie pulling his hair out. I also want to hear comments. Thanks all.
Great abd easy to read
Thanks for putting that together! I wish I had found this earlier.

Actually its quite good but you could add also the instructions on how to update a G4 They can now be CID Unlocked by HardSPL, meaning we can flash a ROM that doesn't have any IPL/SPL info on them like in G3, using the RUU.

GREAT TUTORIAL!! Something like this should have been written up sooner.
Now to get the newbies to actually read it...
I have posts all over this forum so I am going to add a link to your tutorial in the Wiki to my signature. Maybe that will get it more exposure.
EDIT:: I took the liberty to add tutorials to your WIKI page for HardSPL, SoftSPL, and how to Remove HardSPL. All credits for the WIKI page are still yours.
dharvey4651,
Thank you for your contribution. I own a G3, so I have no idea about G4's, which is why I never put that portion of the tutorial in. I want to put in a few other things (i.e how to change the bootscreen, etc.), so I'll do that over the next couple of days.
EDIT: I took out that bit about the shelltool because I didn't think it's be relevant to a newbie who probably won't know what a shelltool is. He'll find out more about it once he starts reading the forums.
The rest,
Thanks for your kind words. Just giving something back.

Well I also have a G3. It's completely fried, but it's a G3.
I used to have a G4 and I know how hard it was to find a good tutorial for G4 devices so that is why I took it upon myself to create one and add it to your already outstanding tutorial.
I put the link to this tutorial in the front page of the wizard wiki. Hope people read it. :?

One could only hope. Unfortunately, I don't think it will happen. Now if the Wiki was the Home page and you could acess the forum through the Wiki that would be ideal.

I've finally gotten a Kaiser...

...and no I'm not going to ask everyone what's the best ROM or some such; I read the "Read Before Posting". I just thought I'd kind of introduce myself and allow people the opportunity to relive their first experiences vicariously through me.
But yea, I'm very excited to finally get my hands on one of these and I've got a serious amount of reading to do on how to get everything nice and nifty. Wish me luck!
I do have one serious question though, as far as physical aesthetic modification, how easy is it? I may want to repaint things and especially get rid of that awful AT&T logo. I'm assuming there are those out there that have tried similar things to what I'm thinking of.
Someone was asking this before, I think someone else was suggesting sugar cubes, but I cannot find the post... I'll keep looking.
EDIT:
Found It: Search this forum for "Sugar" there are loads of ATT Logo Removal threads
Dave
Hey! Thanks for lookin' out.
As far as actually repainting the whole thing, has anyone done it? Faceplate only, though.
I hate the ugly att logo, like most people. although honestly this phone doesnt look all that slick to begin with. The kaiser is an amazing phone, even more so if you know how to use it right xD
welcome and hope you enjoy it here.

I have the Stellar and I thought it was really nice looking when it came out. But since the Diamond / Raph, well ... what can I do
Dave
Hey everyone! I finally got my Kaiser yesterday and I spent all night and morning toying with it.
I'm now using HDIII and I've customized it completely to my tastes with all the different tweaks and such out there. Thanks for the welcomes!
It's so funny now, though, because after all this customization, I keep feeling like there's more I could do to it and I want to do it all, haha.
If I had known the Kaiser was capable of such things, I would've gotten one long ago.
[EDIT]
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to just tell me how to fix one thing. I probably could've searched it, which I did, but I guess I either did something wrong or that wasn't it. I wanted to change the screen where it displays the 'RGD' lines with the numbers. I thought that would be the 'welcomhead.96.png' but I guess that's not it. So, how could I change this? Thanks.
If you are talking about the little numbers in lower right corner when it boots, that's the software and radio version info it can only be changed with a different ROM.
That's the Splash screen, there is a post by pof and by -888- somewhere that will help you.

Not true. He wants to change the splash screen. Not change the numbers themselves. Its a simple flash and you are all set

Change the angle of the screen

I could have sworn I read somewhere that someone had modified the screen angle of the kaiser to be almost perpendicular to the keyboard when laid out. I though for sure it was here on XDA as this is pretty much the only site i read/ post in actively, however ive yet to find the original thread. Im curious about modding mine to have a sharper angle ( plus I have a spare already in hand if I make a horrible mistake )
Has anyone seen the post im referring to ?
Thanks
here it is TonyChen Screen Mod It's posted onmike channon's space which has many more disassembly guides.
Thank you very much I knew I wasnt totally crazy ! ( almost there though lol )
Has anyone here tried this yet ?
i haven't but just looked through the guide and shouldn't be that hard..
I think you'll be fine, specially if you have experience with disassembling and reparing devices. Just don't get too frustrated if one piece won't open/come off and just keep at it gently so you don't damage anything.
good luck and take photos
I certainly will!
Although it may be a few weeks before I get to it. Things are kinda busy these days

NEWB here

Hey guys, this is my first post. I couldn't find and introductions thread so I thought I would just put it here. I have an HTC Touch Diamond and I'm just a basic end user.
I purchased the phone from sprint because I am already a sprint customer, and I needed a tool to make my photography business stronger. The large screen is great for displaying photos should I meet a possible client anywhere, then I can email them pdf's straightaway. Also, the sprintnav is great for when I have more than one location on a shoot (friggin battery life gives me ONE location, so it's emergency only)
OK so then I got to tinkering with my phone, and found out there is a BUNCH of tinkering I can do with it.
So here I am. Wish me luck. I don't wanna break this thing (yet)
Mitch
hello Mitch, nice to see u and be careful..u'll get addicted here
this thread is also good as an introduction thread

Mike-Thanks!
Ingerasu-Thanks for the link I"ll check it out
Denco7- Yeah I was poking around and learned the term BRICK. 8) I definitely don't want to have to use that one! So I'll definitely be reading and rereading everything.
Thanks guys
Mitch
Up to date
So coming from what I started with...
I now run androkkid as my main UI. I have mighty ROM 4. I have an Alltel radio which has dropped a couple of calls so I think I might switch back to a Sprint radio for a while. I'm CDMA Diamond anyway...
I'm looking at flashing a new bootsplash into my device...
and damnit, I just might have to learn some manila editing to get the look I want on my pda...
After a check or two I might actually hit the donate button here......
This is a crazy amount of knowledge here.
Peace
Yeah the donation button is the best way to say thanks to this great site
Read, Search, Respect and Enjoy!
believe me that's on the way. but i only have six bucks left in my paypal acct and some recent CRAP has basically left me peniless and homeless. so i live with my brother rent free while i work a meager salary job (pay is a step over fast food) and try to rebuild my own business.
my car is gone, my apt is gone, etc etc
i just can't quite hit that donate button yet...
[/sob story]
Sorry to hear that
Wish that better times arrive to you soon

Samsung Galaxy S10 back panel/case template

Hi Guys,
I've been googling and not had much luck to try and find this and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only (or first one) to ask for this:
Does anyone know where I can find a website I can put a template of the back of a S10 and then put on my own background/wallpaper? Basically I have a clear case and I really like it but I would love it if I can insert my own image to make my phone case that extra level of awesome.
Any help, links, hints would be greatly appreciated - also sorry if this has already been asked, I've not found the answer myself.

If you have a clear case, the easiest thing to do would be to buy a skin. Most people would recommend Dbrand for skins, but in your usecase, Slickwraps, Decalgirl, and Skinit would be better options. I believe the latter two would allow you to either get skins specifically for certain cases, or customize case templates as well.
