I have had no luck with SmartsKey. I have installed, uninstalled, installed at least 5 diffedrent times and it is nothing but a problem for me.
I have read the Un-Installation Instructons:
1. Run smartskey.exe once, a popup will be shown, tap 'Yes' to close the program.
2. Deleted the folder that stores smartskey
3. Checked/windows/startup to see if there is an sortcut that link to smartskey.
4. Made a softrest.
I have done this many times and I stil get:
NOTIFICATION ERROR
Cannot execute "\Program Files\Smartskey.exe'
I have done a search for Smarskey and could find nothing on my MDA.
Any suggestions??? Thank you in advance.

Mine does that occassionally on reboots.
But it actually loaded.
Did you make sure the ini file is in the right folder ?

Mine was loaded and then I tried uninstall. Yes the ini file is in the right folder. I even tried putting it in the Program folder, etc.

Can someone tell me how to access the notification database. I'm using total commander but don't know which directory holds the database.
when I did it many months ago, I used something called "check notifications", by scary bear software I think they were called.
And maybe memmaid can do it too. Not sure

I recently installed the program on my mda. Now i keep getting an error message everything i wake the phone up. the message says cannot exeute mydocuments/newfolder/smartskey.exe. Does anyone know what the fix is? its really annoying me. thanks
Look in \Windows\Startup and delete (or better yet... move elsewhere) whatever shortcut is pointing at that path (you are going to have to look at the shortcut's properties for this, as it could be named anything) the best proggies to do this with are either Total Commander (kick-ass and free) or Resco Explorer (kick-ass but expensive)

Thanks! I moved it to mydocs, Persoanl folder. I really hope this makes it go away. Its killing me to see this error message everything i power the phone back up.
use Memmaid to verify the event setting to activate smartskey when device wakeup.

download Memmaid ,install & run. you'll find a tab named Notification. In the notification list you should find an item about smartskey, verify that the file path is correct.

Could someone who uses SpbPocketPlus, zip the shortcut command directory and attach it to a reply? I believe its under "\Windows\Start_Menu\Programs\Spb_Pocket_Plus_Actions".
I'm using Faria's 3.2 ROM and SpbPocketPlus freezes it so I have the executable directory loaded on the SD card and am hoping I can use the shortcut programs especially "backlight loop".
At the very least, could you tell me the shortcut properties setting for the "backlight loop" command? I figure its ActionSender.exe with some parameters.

Find the attached file if u still want it, but as far as I have realised they are just the shortcuts for the main exe's already installed.

SPB Pocket + will not run on that ROM. Been there, done that....you're lucky your device booted up completely to try and fix it. iLauncher3 works great, give it a try.
Anyone have the registry entry to disable the menu sounds? It annoys me when I click on the START menu, when I press SEND/RECEIVE in Pocket Outlook, etc.
I had a ROM on here recently that had this feature and I miss it greatly.

Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications - remove the checkbox from "Events (warnings, system events)"
Hmmm.
I thought I tried that on the stock ROM and it didn't solve my problem. But, I unchecked it and viola, that did it.

btw, this isn't a reg tweak but two "empty" sound files, handsw.wav and menupop.wav. If you turn off the Events in Sounds you'll lose (to me at least) essential notifications.

Drats. They are in ROM. How can I replace them?
Simply run that cab file. It does all the work.
Your Wizard only looks for the files in ROM if they aren't found first in the appropriate path. It finds the replacements, and doesn't look further.

I did.
I got an error that said:
'Installation of No Sounds by Dr P.cab wa unsuccessful.'
I did a soft reset, recopied the CAB to the device and got the same message.

I searched the forum and found a similar file. This works for me. Just copy to your wm and install.

Great program, but Im having trouble with the sms function.
Ive gone in and changed the registry to where the program is the default contact manager, and made the changes for the softkey. What is happening is that when in PocketCM and I want to read my text messages, the program will load the messages and then disappear after a matter of seconds. It doesn't stay up long enough for me to read anything.
Ive been to their site and searched around and wasn't able to find anything close. Ive searched here and didn't find anything helpful.
If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

try the beta version of .16. its 100x faster than .15.
Wassona - I never had that problem even when I was using .15. I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall it.

Anyone have a cab file for .16??? I downloaded what is available from the creators website, but its just the program file with nothing to "tell the phone to use it" instead of contacts.

I tried that numerous time before I created the post and it didnt change anything. Im wondering if it has something to do with the way my sms/mms is setup on the phone.
Who knows. Maybe I'll get a reply on the Pocketcm forum.

Just copy the downloaded files in your program file map on your device within the map CMcontacts.
you don't need the cab file when you already have it installed.
This might be something to think about. Hard reset the phone and thought that I had backed up all the sms messages that I had. Turned out i was wrong. Re installed pocketcm and it works. Before I had over 340+ sms messages due to the constant backups. Im wondering if i didnt exceed some buffer.

Are you saying that you got the "stock rom start menu" or just lost the option called "QuickMenu" in which you will find options like Screen, SIP, bluetooth, etc in ttrans custom rom? I had the same problem but after few days and soft resets it appeared on its own. anyway make sure that "QuickMenu.lnk" which is a shortcut file which brings the custom start menu is available in the folder "\Windows\StartUp\" and if not copy from "\Windows" and paste in start up folder. Use total commander or some other file explorer to do the same. let me know the result

You know what, now I lost the start menu lol... even though the lnk file is available in "\windows\startup" folder its not coming back and I got the stock rom start menu. lets see what happens after few days...
I had the same problem except the link for the quickmenu is in the start up folder already. It occured after doing the initial settings changes the second time I flashed it with Open Touch v4.0. The first time it worked for a little bit but I guess I changed some setting that doesn't allow it to start up. I can click the link or program and it will load once but it defaults to the Orig. start menu after that... Am I the first with this specific issue?

No, you are not the only one having this issue. As I stated above, I still have the problem and the quick menu doesnt comes even after many soft resets. I even tried to move the .lnk file from startup folder and reset and then moved it back and reset, but no way... it just doesnt work...
