Cingular 2.26 Aku2.3 w/a2dp FULLY LOADED *BETA* SCREWED ME - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I have enclosed my link to the problems I have with this ROM upgrade. I am looking for suggestions other than bitting the bullet to purchase a new phone, or God help me, taking it down to Cingular to do a complete reflash if possible.
Any assistance is highly appreciated.

Sorry faria, your wrong.....that is not what happened as you have blasted me; for as my ipl was not 1xx as you stated. I was able to go back into the boot and flash back to 2.17. ABTY, I do read and have been doing flashes of all sorts of electronics for more years that I hate to admit to. Don't be so presumptuous. Not every one can be righteous

if the rom read as 1.2 then its not the right rom

Have you tried
flashing an official rom that includes the bootloaders?
If you do this and then reflash with the rom you say screwed you your IPL should update.
This rom does not contain the bootloaders.
You may have to go buy a new battery (or borrow one that is charged at least 50% from a friend)
Start the device in bootloader mode while connected by USB by holding down voice tag and camera buttons while powering on. You should get the RGB boot loader screen with USB in the lower corner.
Flash a FULL 2.xx rom (preferably an official one from your provider), this should upgrade your IPL and SPL correctly. Then you can go back and re-flash this rom and all should be well.
From what you describe it looks pretty much exactly the same as happened to me earlier in the thread you linked. I had to go buy a new battery to get mine reflashed because I played with it so much with conflicting bootloader/OS/Radio versions that it went dead and would not re-charge in this state.
EDIT: Also if you IPL and SPL are different numbers this may indicate that you are not correctly CID unlocked (not 100% sure on this as it hasn't happened to me, but from what I read on these boards this is the impression that I get) If I were in your situation this is what I would do:
Downgrade to Button's 1.05 rom
run Lokiwiz02b and perform a CID unlock
Upgrade to a 2.xx carrier rom (pretty much everyone agrees to go with a carrier rom first)
Then upgrade to a 2.xx rom of your choice.

Zzan is putting you on the right path, yo do need to get your battery charged before you can flash though.
Also, just so you know when flashing cooked roms most of them use a hacked RUU that will always show the currently installed phone rom to be 1.2. This is so that you can freely flash between roms as the RUU will not normally let you flash to a lower rom version.
Regarding your comments to Faria, clam down. Your orignal post in the other thread is a bit jumbled and I can see where it is easy to think you might have been referring to IPL/SPL being 1.2 as you were not very specific.
When posting you will get a lot better help if you give as much info as possible and organize it clearly. For example say that the RUU showed you currently had version 1.2 Rom installed on your device then nobody thinks you are talking about IPL/SPL.
Finally, When you say things like "x's Rom screwed me" you're going to rub a lot of people the wrong way here (especially when the Rom is clearly marked as BETA). Remember that nobody forced you to flash the Rom and if you are as experienced at flashing as you say then you should have understood the risk you are taking every time you flash your device. Now you should to expect that risk to triple when you use anything marked as BETA. Maybe saying "Help, I'm having problems after flashing xxx Rom" would get you more assistance.
Take my advice with a grain of salt and realize that it is worth exactly what you paid for it so I'm not upset if you disregard everything I said.

Cingular 2.26 Aku 2.3 Update - SCREWED ME
I guess I needed a reason to upgrade to the HP6925 as this update screwed me up big time. Everything appeared to be find during the update....just a very long time to reboot and setup. After setup and reboot again, very slow. The telephone function is completely gone. Icon is there, just nothing happens. Additionally appears to be processing allot of STUFF? as the processor seems to be being tasked as the screen taps are very inconsistent. I tried to restore to my 2.17 AKU2 ROM without success. The USB is no longer operative at all. I have tried to use the IR port, but it is too flaky, and bluetooth is bluetooth....no consistency; can't active sink here either. It no longer tells me about the battery, just empty information. No lights to even tell if it is charging in the cradle, or even just a power supply.
What is really bizarre, is when I tried to restore 2.17 for IR, it read the ROM as 1.2.....someone switch the LINKS load???? IR just bombs after it starts to initiate the load. Then have to go through recovery by removing battery.
Like pissing in a can with a 40mph wind :-(
HELP I HAVE TRIED ALL RESOURCES........lucky I backed up all my data, as I would have been SCREWED even more.
jlsenter
sorry. missread ,and i was not blasting you away.
but still u did not read the posts ,otherwize you would know how to restore your device.it was stated several times .
and since u stated that u been flashing all sorts ,im suprised u did not know how to restore you device. or was it the first time in this device?

Thanks Kyphur, Zzan, & Faria
Thanks for the suggestions; as it now make sense to some of anomalies that I saw. I did go back into the boot and re-flash back to 2.17 with success. The whole reason I started on this path to begin with was because 2.17 was not seeing my 2G memory card.....or should I say "not installed" to be more precise. Then after the ill-fated 2.26 install and re-flashing back to 2.17, the 8125 now recognizes the 2G memory. The 2.17 release has been very stable for me and will stay that way......., besides, my pre-ordered 8525 arrives this Friday.
Kind regards,
and personal apology to Faria if I was too FIERY

"Mr. Clean" AKU 2.3 ROM - G4 Version (2.24.0001)

Please note, this is a TEST ROM and may not work.
I do not have a G4 version Wizard to test on, so some brave soul with the hardware in question is going to have to give it a try. Be aware, while I have double checked everything and this should work, FLASHING THIS ROM MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
Once this is confirmed working on a G4 version Wizard, I'll update this post.
The contents of this ROM are functionally the same as the standard Mr. Clean ROM. For more information on Mr. Clean please read the original Mr. Clean thread:

Mr. Clean AKU 2.3 ROM v2.24.0001a for HTC Wizard (G4 version)
-------------------------------------------------------------
The ROM of choice for tinkerers and hobbyists is back, and this time the big baldy is ready to take on the G4 variant of the HTC Wizard. Because this ROM is designed specifically for Wizard units with the G4 flash chip it WILL NOT WORK on the original Wizard. If you have an original Wizard, you must use the 2.24a version of Mr. Clean.
---------------
WHAT DO I NEED?
---------------
-A CID Unlocked HTC Wizard with a G4 Flash Chip
-Windows PC with a USB port
-ActiveSync 4.0 or higher installed
-MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_2240001a_AKU23_WWE.zip
-------------------------------------------------------
HOW CAN I TELL IF I HAVE A G3 or G4 VERSION FLASH CHIP?
-------------------------------------------------------
There is an easy way to tell which version flash chip you have in your Wizard.
Simply look at your boot screen and check the IPL/SPL version.
2.xx = G3 Flash Chip
2.xx.0001 = G4 Flash Chip
-----------------------------
WHAT DOES CID UNLOCKING MEAN?
-----------------------------
A CID lock normally prevents you from using any ROM aside from an official ROM provided by your carrier/OEM. Trying to upgrade a CID locked device with an unofficial ROM can damage your Wizard. DO NOT try to upgrade your Wizard if you have not CID unlocked it.
If you wish to search for a free solution, please check the forums on http://xda-developers.com. Be aware however, that free solutions are only available for certain ROM versions. As of this writing there are no known free solutions for the G4 series Wizard, but this may change in the future.
A viable alternative to waiting for a free solution is to visit http://imei-check.co.uk. This company charges 20 British Pounds (approx 40 US Dollars) to perform a SIM and CID unlock on your Wizard. It claims to handle all versions of the Wizard hardware, so if you have a G4 version, this may be your only option. It is generally accepted as the place to go for SIM and CID unlocks.
*Note - I have NO affiliation with IMEI-Check. I am simply including the information as a service to the reader.
---------------------------------
HOW DO I FLASH THE Mr. Clean ROM?
---------------------------------
1) Unzip MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_2240001a_AKU23_WWE.zip to a folder on your hard drive.
2) Make sure your Wizard has at least a 50 percent charge on the battery.
3) Connect your Wizard to the PC via the USB cable.
4) Run the program ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe in the ROM folder.
5) Follow the prompts to update your Wizard.
6) When you get to the UPDATE screen the version listed should be 2.24.0001a_MRC. If not STOP NOW. You have the wrong ROM.
7) Once you start the upgrade, your Wizard will reset to a rainbow colored screen. This is normal.
8) The Wizard then switches to a blank screen with a progress bar. It may pause for a few minutes at 98%. This is normal.
9) Once the update has completed, the Wizard will reset and present you with the initial configuration.
10) Calibrate the touch screen and let the customization option complete.
11) After the customization completes, the Wizard will reboot a final time and the upgrade is finished.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IF I HAVE A WIZARD (G3 VERSION) AND WANT TO INSTALL MR. CLEAN?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have a G3 version Wizard, then you need the file MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_224a_AKU23_WWE.zip.
When i reached step 6 of "How to Flash" i get this:
{

i should not continue right?

About to give this ago.. stay tuned!
no joy! I got Error 300 like the poster above me.
Maybe there's something incompatible with the noid version of the uploader that is refusing to let us upgrade?
allo gamescan;
correct if im wrong:
but if u try to install this rom into a g3 wizard a dont see how it could brick it.
because the rom checks the machine chip before flashing as the official roms that include the 2 versions.
so if u flash this rom into a g3 the only thing that not gets updated its the bootloader.....as it would not be compatible.
are you using the g3 update utilitys in the g4 roms?
because it coud be potencialy fatal.
as the haked update utilitys that we can find were made from roms prior to g4.
for the testers;
unless this rom has a 2.5 or above haked update utility u need to have the device cid unlocked because it will be no way u will be able to install it.

faria: my device is fully CID unlocked with the imei-check solution, as I can flash the 2.x versions of the imate and tmobile USA roms on my tmobile UK device.

Do you still have the T-Mobile 2.24 BETA ROM that I had you download the other day? If so, I'd love for you to try a few things.
First, upzip the T-Mobile ROM and the Mr. Clean ROM to two separate folders.
Now, make a new folder and *copy* the Mr. Clean ROM installer files to the new folder.
After than, copy the RUUGetInfo.exe from the T-Mobile folder and overwrite the one in the new folder. Click on the RUU Wizard (NoID) and try to run the upgrade.
If that fails, I want you to copy the RUUGetInfo.exe from the Mr. Clean folder and overwrite the one in the new folder. Now, copy the RUU Wizard from the T-Mobile folder into the new folder. Click on the RUU Wizard (DO NOT click on the NoID version) and try to run the upgrade.
If that fails, I want you to once again copy the RUUGetInfo.exe from the T-Mobile folder into the new folder. Click on the RUU Wizard (DO NOT click on the NoID version) and try to run the upgrade.
What were're trying to do here is track down where the version info is getting conflicted. I suspect it is because the hacked RUUGetInfo.exe is setup to always report a low version of the ROM so that the upgrade utility will allow downgrading. However, if the upgrade utility sees a G3 ROM on the device (which it always will with the hacked RUUGetInfo) it'll freak when you try to flash a G4 ROM to the Wizard. At least, that's what I'm going with right now. By swapping out a "normal" RUUGetInfo, I'm hoping that the upgrade utility will be happy because it will see a G4 ROM on the device and know that it is flashing a G4 ROM. The only "catch" that I foresee with this is that because it will be able to read the true value of the ROM, downgrading to earlier IPL/SPL versions will not be possible.

Yes. If someone manages to flash this to a G3 based device IT WILL BRICK. The software should prevent the flashing, but if you manage to override the safety check and force the flash, IT WILL BRICK.
It is foolish to the extreme for someone to try to flash this file to a G3 version Wizard.
As I mentioned earlier, I don't believe the flashing utility is the issue, I believe it is in what the RUUGetInfo utility is reporting to the flashing utility since the hacked version of the RUUGetInfo utility reports a fixed version number all the time.
Hopefully with Sporkguy's testing, we'll be able to successfully package a ROM that can be used by owners of CID unlocked G4 version Wizards. Of course, once the specifics are known, then that will also make it easier for others to package up custom ROMs for the G4 version Wizards as well.
thanks for the reply gamescan.
lets crack this....
it is my belive that there is an eazyest way ....
as far as i know the only diference betwin the g3 and g4 devices is the bootloader ipl/spl ,so we can take any rom and remove the ipl/spl ,therefore the rom would be OS+EXTENDED-ROM+RADIO+SPLASH AND HTC LOGO, and so we would be able to install this rom in any chipset version because we would not touch the bootloader and then we would have 1 rom for all ,and avoid confusion ,specialy to newbies.
the proof of this[as you know] is in the newest official roms ,after we take it apart it contains 2 ipl and 2 spls ,so that tells us that apart from the ipl/spl there is nothing diferent about the roms, since the official rom install in in the g3 and g4 chipsets.
forgive me if im wrong.
If you check the prior thread, you will see that did not work. A flash of GSM + Splash + Ext ROM failed with the same error 300.
The only way anything is going to get solved is with testing and careful deduction. Random guessing or untested assumptions will only confuse things.

a just flashed the latest 2.24 rom taken from an official rom that contains the 2 ipl/spls into a g3 wizard without probems[without the ipl/spl].so its not an random guess or untested assumptions. he got the error 300 because the wizard its locked.
i will be posting the rom soon ,i just nedd to finish integrating NETCFv2 into it .this should also work with cid unlocked g4,
godbye.
I'll try the above shortly - i'm just waiting on getting a copy of Sprite backup so I can come back again. (I'm getting tired of reloading all my stuff back onto the device every other day!)
Will let u know how it goes!

Ok, so i've never flashed my device bofore, and i'm dumb and i overlooked the first step of checking to see if i had a 3g or 4g.
I downloaded the program, and updated the rom. It installed, and it loaded up, i saw the pretty MR clean bootscreen (at which point i realized how dumb i was but i looked at the version in the loading screen, and i did say it was 4g, but this was AFTER the flashing of the rom, so i donno if that was just changed cause of hte flashing), and then it started installing the customizations. Then, my mind rests and i chat away for a bit with my friend on aim, and i glance over my phone. Its off, hmm i guess it had to restart, ok lets turn the baby on! umm why aren't you turning on? Huh? Before looking into it being a more serious problem, do you by chance know what your battery charge was before starting this escapade?
The phone won't charge via USB when it's in bootloader or flash mode, and flashing has a decent current draw, so...could it have hit empty?
heh, it does say several times, in this very thread, that this rom is experimental and intended for G4 chips ONLY.
Hell, we've even been discussing why it doesnt work on my G4 device yet, and you still tried it? Brave, man, brave
I'd Probably try flashing it again by putting it into bootloader mode (take out battery, put back in again and press and hold the camera button whilst plugging in USB) - and sticking an older official rom on there.
Best of luck lol
Yeah i don't think brave is the word, dumb and impatient sounds better i think.
Well i don't think its the battery cause it did load, and I calibrated the screen and everything, and then it started installed the customizations, and then it went blank, so it did have a chance to start charging again.
I did only have a 60% charge though, i'm gonna try to sawp a battery a guy at work who's got a similar phone (its not the same, i hope htc uses the same batteries for its models)
At this point, NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No buttons, not plugging in pressing the reset buttons, nada, nothing , zip just a blank dead piece of plastic. I took ou tthe battery countless times, ahh i'm lost
I broke my pretty thing

Exactly the same thing happened to mine at exactly the same stage (customizations), my battery was at 100% before flashing and have tried another battery too. It was totally dead, no flashing LED's even when left on charge, couldnt get into the bootloader by holding the camera button and plugging in the USB cable either. Luckily it was swapped over for a new one within a few days....
Oh mine was on the other rom the ""Mr. Clean" AKU 2.3 ROM" but the same result.... so put very bluntly, you are buggered

Platform .: PocketPC
ROM Version .: 5.4.405.1 WWE

It is recommended to run this ROM with the previous ROM version as 5.4.405.1 WWE. This is because there is a problem with the old radio rom and WM6. The first link is up and running, just downloaded using that link. This ROM seems a bit slow with the PP set at 8, but conditions improved greatly setting back at 4. Nice rom but I'll have to return to what I was using before because it seems that the X button issue is still present. Not sure what was upgraded in this ROM but will take a look right now.
i flashed it, X button problems still there so I don't know what was fixed. I'll try it out more tonight and check.
Woohoo!
Ok got it running, so far looks good. For those of you who are flashing this for this first time read this it's very important.
after you run the UPGRADE ROM.bat you'll get an error display on your device screen. DO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! don't hit ok, don't disconnect, the device is still being flashed.
When it's done do a hard reset, the T-Mobile start up logo (for Wing users) will display for a bit (3 mins?) but the PDAViet splash screen will appear afterwards.
Good luck, and happy flashing!
Hi, one Question:
i have HTC herald with WM5, never upgraded, never nothing, what exactly i must do to instal WM6 without any crashing?
For T-Mobile Users
see next post
Nevermind
Since this has the new HTC Network Wizard you don't need the info from my last post.
Thanks for the heads up “Neptune”
Haha, ROM installed perfectly! Played for a few mins looks sweet then tried to do a hard reset with no avail screen just stayed at BOOTLOADER.
Preformed a soft reset, os wouldn’t load correctly just stayed at splash screen, tried various things but was still unable to boot past the splash screen. Potentially Bricked P4350 it seems!
Below are the steps I preformed to recover using the search function on the forum and google.
1:. Booted device into BOOTLOADER mode by holding down the cam soft button then inserting the stylus into soft reset button.
2:. Whilst at the coloured screen attached device to computer via USB (you should notice USB appear at the button of the screen)
3:. Downloaded latest ROM for my device from here
4:. Double clicked exe and followed on screen instructions (the updater wont detect your phone because its not connected via active sync don’t worry still proceed)
5:. Wait for the updater to finish, device may reboot a few times this is normal, once completed you shall see the welcome screen.
Potentially bricked device restored, thanks to this forum I don’t have an expensive paper weight. Lots of Kudos to all!!!
I still have a problem, my device wont prompt for hard reset anyone have any ideas? (Stayes at red/green/blue/white BOOTLOADER screen) Searched forums and google for answers no luck yet. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Peace!

The radio needs to be version 2.79 for WM6 to work. Also, Its always safe to have a working WM5 RUU ready in case you brick your herald. Please take a look in the wiki if you can find any RUU that works on your device and install it. This should update your Radio to 2.79 if you don't have it yet.
If none of the RUUs in the wiki works on your device, you better retain your current installation and wait for HTC to finaly release the official WM6 RUU.
tried to install, had an error and now I have a brick. Put phone into bootloader screen, try to use the Wing RUU utility, but keeps giving me a connection error. Any help would be appreciated!
nice, it seems i have all in my PC,
i have RUU WM 5 for herald, seems fuction but dont know (i dont tryed)
soo, if i understand if i bricked my ROM, my RUU WM5 will ever set my Herald to manufacture with good Radio version (i have 02.71) so my best way is:
Run RUU WM5, (it will put my Radio Version 2.79)
after i will instal some WM6 by the guide on that WM6...
after that i will got WM 6 works? (i will do some backups of my items in memory)
is that right???
Thoughts on the ROM
Ok so after playing iwth the ROM for about an hour or so, I decided I didn't really care for it. It's just too buggy for me. It seems to be very slow in response time and seems to lag, even with over clocking. Oh well, back to the stock T-Mobile ROM I guess.
anyone have any input? I would really like to get my phone working again!
Installing it over a spanish rom
You think It´ll install if my current ROM is in Spanish? Would I need to tweak anything? I have a
HTC p4350 SO 5.1.422
ROM version 1.8.412.2 ESN
Radio Version: 02.71.90
I don´t mind it resulting in English after it, As a matter of fact, I preffer it.
Thanks.
After a few days using a this rom, I can tell that the ok button problem is not completely fixed... sometimes you still need to fast tap it twice to make it work!

Flashing tomorrow, do I have everything?

Okay, so I decided on Romeos 4.1. I am trying to make sure i have everything, but I am getting a little confused. When i downloaded the No_radio romeos 4.1, unraring i get the rom and a KaiserCustomRUU.exe. Is that(.exe) my hard spl??
Do I need anything else?
I assume I may need the jump spl, but just not sure.
THanks for helping a first timer flasher guy.
No
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922
download any version of your choice, install it first *VERY IMPORTANT*
then install romeos 4.1, dont forget to get a compatable radio with that, or just download the one with a radio.
thanks a bunch. jusr curious, what is this soft spl thingy?

Please do not take offense to this... But if you really don't know the answer to that question, you are not ready to flash your phone. Go back to the Kaiser Wiki and read on up all the information there.
No offense taken. I develop medical software for a what i call "monopoly" healthcare company. However, reading up on what needs to be done to simply flash a phone, keeps taking me in circles.
Read the ENTIRE Wiki section on flashing your phone, it'll save you a LOT of problems. Seriously, don't do it blindly. You could do like some silly folks have done and flash a ROM or Radio with a SPL Flasher, etc, which will cause you problems. There's a lot of smart people here who can problem help recover your phone but save yourself the trouble!
Personally, here's an outline of what I did:
Decide which software you want to reinstall, make sure you have all of your serial numbers and cabs on hand.
Also I suggest writing down any 'complicated' settings so you can get back to work without too much fiddling.
Backup and get original ROM and Radio (just in case I needed to go back)
Hard Reset
Install HardSPL 3.29 (as suggested by the ROMeOS Cook), verify it's installed
Install ROMeOS 4.2 (it's coming in a few days, I'd wait..)
Install a suggested radio (he lists three in his thread)
Hard reset again
Reinstall your software by hand (don't try to restore from backup)

The steps listed in the post above are the exact process you need to follow. Just go to the Wiki and research each bullet-point listed. Until last week there was no section in the Wiki for the 3.xx HardSPL's, so I added it.
As long as you understand the process outlined above, you will not fail.
I know that when I started for the first time I was a bit worried about the out come and I felt confused. It's hard to accept that what is in the wiki is all that you need, and it's also hard to see that it's very simple when you see pages and pages of things. When I flashed back in Nov. for the first time, the instructions were so good that they took you through pretty much every screen..
Didn't there used to be a Youtube video on this?
You guys are the best. No matter how dumb my questions are(and they are), i have yet to hear a smart-a$$ remark back, which is nice, and shows people are willing to help.
I think khaytsus outlined everything i wanted, and will try when 4.2 comes out. I did go through a tutorial from the at&t forums, with a bunch of files to make the OS look like an iphone, and it is really cool. Baby steps i say.
I hope to fully flash, and get into the nitty gritty this week when 4.2 comes out!
:O)
ensure HardSpl installed
use a labtop (avoid power failure, short circuits)
have a shipped rom handy nearby - first use of cooked roms may be different so have a plan B
dont worry we are here for support
best of luck

1. Plug the device into your PC (it stays plugged in until step 7)
2. Copy Jump/Soft to your device. It can be downloaded here
3. Take out your SD card & SIM Card. (you can take these out before you start step 1)
4. Run Jump/Soft SPL on your device <-- you have to navigate to the program called "JumpSPL1.56-KAIS" and click it (it will be an icon of kermit the frog)
5. Wait for the bootloader screen to appear and "USB" to show on your Kaiser.
6. Right-click activesync (at the bottom right of your computer screen, usually), go into connection settings and make sure Allow USB Connections is unchecked
7. Unplug your device from the USB port, wait 5 - 20 seconds, plug it back in.
8. Run KaiserCustomRUU.exe and flash this SPL from your desktop
*Directions taken from kyphur's FAQ posted here. It's post #2*
By the way, one other detail (I'll update my original post too), I personally have always preferred SD Card updates. Always seems like there's less to go wrong.
The HardSPL (afaik) must be done via USB, but once that's done, you can follow instructions to update the ROM or Radio via USB or SD.
Seems to me that SD updates are faster and you can do them 'on the fly', particularly the radio.. I've read of people who change radio perhaps a couple times a day, it only takes a few minutes with the SD card.
I am pretty sure I did it in that exact order. I will try it one more time to see though.

Please don't hijack threads. Your issue should be posted in the HardSPL thread in the ROM Development section.
sorry i thought my issue would be related since I was stuck on one of the steps he was asking about in his original post and b/c he is flashing the same ron i wish to flash i figured this would be a valid thread to post in and b/c if i did something he might end up doing as well then maybe he can learn from my mistake.

SO, after the below steps are completed, just pick the ROM you want, and use the .exe to flash it. Then flash your radio, and your done??

ROTFLMAO!!!! At least he understands proper use of the . Now lets work on proper sentence structure. Was the above post an interrogative or declarative statement?

I think I bricked him :(

Something screwed up today after installing that ApptoSD application from the market and I had to downgrade to RC29 again. That was all fine.
Now I was in the process of upgrading to CM 4.0.4. I already installed the old HardSPL, and realized I needed to install the 'new' one. I did this, and upon reboot my phone is stuck at the G1 screen.
Home+Power and Camera+Power do absolutely nothing.
Am I ****ed? This sucks.

Yes, its gone. You need to install the radio update before the SPL update. Don't know why you would install the update that kills so many phones without reading up on it...
for the record: cm4.0.4 and all cyanogen mods do not require the DangerSPL, hardspl works fine.
Wow you get a big ol' F for not doing your homework and thinking that you needed the newest thing, good job screwing yourself
Just like everyone else said your toast. I was first thinking why would you need to go back to rc29 because of an apps2sd issue or really any issue, you should have just reflashed a rom. Second (like the others said) you didn't need the new spl.

WTB - spare batt and batt cover!
Whoa, didn't need to jump down my throat - I already flashed the new radio after HardSPL, but I suppose it doesn't matter anyway.
The phone bricked after installing that app, and upon restart it was stuck at the G1 screen, I had to leave the office so I reflashed to RC29 (as it was the only ROM I had on my laptop) while I was on the road (so no internet access) because I desperately needed my phone for a job I was attending. When I got back to the office I must have mixed up my update.zip files somewhere in the process.
Thanks for the help from the people that weren't dicks about it, at the end of the day it's only a phone. Time for a shiny new one.
It is pretty common knowledge that the DangerSPL will not work with older radio versions BUT I believe flashing RC29 downgrades your radio to an earlier version, therefore bricking your phone. If you decide to use DangerSPL or Haykuro's SPL (the same I think) in the future, make sure you flash HardSPL BEFORE restoring to RC29.
I would play the stupid card with TMO and see if they will send you a new one.
And if you don't already, use Cyanogen's 1.4 Recovery. You can backup and restore via Nandroid from the recovery image so you can have a working version on your SD card at all times and not need a computer to access it.
Just for my own knowledge,
A phone with the hard spl can be safely downgraded back to rc29 (if you needed to send it back to tmo for instance) correct?
It's the danger spl that can brick your system if you downgrade to earlier radio right?

Correct......
downgrading by using rc also downgrades the radio and spl, does not matter what spl you are using. it takes it back. you will not brick by using the rc dreaimg.nbh

[Q] Stuck in cyclic restart after Radio ROM upgrade!?!

Hi, i am from Turkey,
I have a Touch Diamond (Diam100) bought from Norway. I just loaded a new radio ROM onto my phone (I am security unlocked and sim unlocked and hard SPL'd, thanks to Olinex!) and everything looked to work fine, the status bar got to 100% and the phone rebooted as usual after a new ROM load
However - it is completely stuck in a cyclic reboot. I get the HTC startup screen and then it just reboots again and again. I tried a hard reset and got the confirmation message that it was restored OK, press volume up to boot. However it does the same reboot again and again
I tried some thing like that:
*Try to install "RUU_Diamond_HTC_NOR_1.93.409.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship" stock rom, but it freezes at %13
*Try to install stock radio rom "Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.05" bu it freezes at %95!
*Try to install stock spl, everything looked to work fine, the status bar got to 100% and the phone rebooted as usual after a new ROM load but the problem seems again!
i can install cooked roms, but after restart this problem happens again and again!
Can you help me please? I love my phone very much.. (
(sorry for my poor english)
Hi, try MTTY your phone. log in to use search in these fora and find "The definitive MTTY thread". It's a bit of...homework to do but will get you out of this.Your issue is caused by certain undeleted items which remain after a rom flash as far as i've learned.I hadn't have to do it until after several ROM flashes but guess sooner or later everybody faces it.Well it's time you did it too...

Hi,
Dude, that's frustrating, however as i understand it's a stock SPL you've presently got on your phone, right? I don't know which SPL version you've had before but just in case, try to update to HSPL version 1,93. Then try flashing a ROM you like.If problems persist MTTY your phone again after having upgraded HSPL.
And a word of advice based on own experience: Not all radios are compatible with all ROMs and vice versa...
Hope you're soon going to get this right,
Regards from Greece

before you upgrade the radio, whether it has been unlock device with the XDA Unlock Application ..? try to hard reset your device after that make sure the device go to the boot loader (3 colors screen) and reflash with the official ROM!! then unlock the device and immediately you can do to upgrade the radio (at the time of upgrading the radio make sure the SIM card removed)
