Help... my Trinity stuck during ROM updating - P3600 Software Upgrading

Hi,
During one of the ROM update, the proccess has stopped at 20% for a long time so I had to stop it and restart the update.
The next time I run the update, it stuck at 1%, the device restart itself and I got "ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID".
I tried to update to the dopod ROM again but I got the same error.
Now my Trinity is dead and I realy need help.
My device is HTC 3600, CID unlocked.
I aslo noticed that the bootloader has been updated from SPL 1.06 to SPL-1.07.
Thanks
VIC

did you still have the files you used to CID unlock it?

Yes
Yes I still have it

you have a new PM see it please

I also tried to use the CID unlock program again and now I get "Device identify Error"
I think the problem is that the bootloader is 1.07 and if I will find a way to install an earlier version, my trinity will live again.

where did you get the "original ROM" ???

From the xda's ftp

I asked IMEI-CHECK Team about the problem and here is what they wrote:
"It sounds like your ROM update went wrong / stopped / you cancelled it. In this case the device lost the radio rom (shows NO GSM at startup) and can not be used or updated anymore.
This is a common problem with all HTC Hermes and Trinity devices. If a ROM update is stopped/canceled in the "middle" then the device gets unusable. Unfortunately you have to send the device in for fixing (either to HTC service center or to us). The device needs to get opened and flashed via (expensive) JTAG tool. We offer to our customers to fix the devices for free but customer has to pay for full shipping costs."
Does anyone have other solution without sending the device over the sea??

Nice to see that the people at IMEI-CHECK offers this service for free... This will actually make me reconsider paying for getting my P3600 unlocked...
Paying for good service is always nice

I'll second that!
My unlock did not go smoothly and I have now helped them further develop the code. Unfortunately it bricked my P3600 in the process but as mentioned, they have offered to fix it FOC.
If anyone is having doubts over their service then based on my experience dont worry....

Hi,
I updated my HTC 3600 to the new dopod 1.23 test ROM.
It all worked great but because it's a test ROM, I decided to go back to the original 1.15 ROM.

Can you try to run the monitor commands through the TTY... i.e. info commands and see what CID it reports? that can help to determine which RUU you need to flash with. Dubi

I don't think so..
2-3 times upgrading(Hermes) was stopped due to power cut/fluctuations.But in all the cases I managed to do the full upgrade, by simply putting them back to bootloader mode.
I suggest the same to you.See if u can get to bootloader. If yes then you shd try flashing the matching ROM to yr device..I think it shd b alive..

Yes, I can see the bootloader and also the update proccess has started.
Nyt as I wrote, it failed after 1% and the trinity restart itself to bootloader screen.

did you try it on the 2 Roms? HTC and the Dopod ? and you tryed the CID tool in bootloader too ?

I tried to install all the available ROMs, all stoped after 1%.
I tried to install oly Radio ROM and it also stoped.
I'd like to know if there is a way to downgrade the bootloader from 1.07.
Maybe with other bootloader I'll be able reinstall one of the ROMs.

No way to downgrade from BOOTLOADER 1.07?

Put the device in Bootloader, run mtty program - you can find it on this ftp, you should be able to get the prompt USB, then run info info 1 info 2 command that will report to you also the device id and cid... according to the information it is easier to debug and understand the reason for refusing to upgrade. right now your device behaves like you are not using the correct cid RRU... if you want you can call me on my mobile :054 7111799 perhaps I can try to help you more.. or you can bring the device and I can try to help you. Dubi

Well first thank you Dubi....
Now, using "task 32" command in mtty tool, returns "Level = FF" which mean the device is CID locked.
Before the problem, I purchased the CID unlock code and it opened my device.
When running again the CID unlock tool, I get "Device Identify Error"

When i flash the new ROM - the phone boots the OLD?

I understand this - i've tried flashing two different WM6 ROMs to my device - and everything works well - goes to 100% and says it's succsessful. But then my device boots - the old image/OS? Appearantly it just does a hard reset?
What's up with that?

CID UNLOCK YOUR DEVICE....or better yet start reading the wizard upgrading forum..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1184453#post1184453
I thought a locked CID would prevent to flash at all? (error before flashing started). I did unlock CID first - but there was one error, but i think that was when writing the backup. I'll try it again.
Edit: Here is the error:
CopyFileToTFFS(cidunlocked.bin:0, 0, 00010000)
ERROR: ITWriteDisk - An internal error occurred.
result=80072745

If your phone retains the same OS after you flash then quite obviously something went wrong during the cid unlock and it wasnt cid unlocked at the time of flashing.
This is mentioned many times, let me know if your having trouble finding info.
The error you posted means the CID Unlock didn't work (even though you got a message saying you are now CID Unlocked). Go back to the thread on CID Unlocking (or maybe its the lokiwiz thread) and read about the errors.
Another thing is you haven't told us if you have a G3 or G4 device and what your current IPL / SPL are. that info helps so you don't get taken in the wrong direction.
I got it working now. IPL/SPL was 2.x, so i had to downgrade in order to get it working. I got tricked, since i couldn't find anywhere mentioning what happened if CID was locked - only that it wouldn't work to flash if it's not unlocked - and i assumed that by "wouldn't work" they meant that it couldn't get it flashed - but it was flashed without any errors so i assumed that CID lock was not the problem (it did says succsessfull when i unlocked cid also).

Slight Problem with the flashing

I've bought myself a MDA Vario (T-mobile NL).
But i have a other provider so i treid to unlock it which failed.
So i downgraded to IPL:1.01 and SPL:1.01 using the button 1.05 rom.
And then unlocked using lokiwiz - HTC Wizard Unlocker UPDATE Version 0.2b.
I also unlocked the CID and i didn't see any errors in my dos prompt.
Now i am trying to upgrade again and it keeps failing, i get to the green red bleu screen but then it hangs. The phone works but i want newer software.
When i boot it says i have: IPL:1.01 and SPL:1.01.0000 GSM:1.12.10.0 and OS:1.5.4.2.
When i try to run lokiwitz again to unlock my CID it says that a file is inuse and doesn't finish. The first time it didn't do this.
I like to upgrade to: T-Mobile 2.26 ROM or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330080, i preffer the second rom.
Can someone tell me what is wrong, is it possible the CID unlock failed and it doesn't show?

I think you did not copied the Enablerapi.cab file in your phone correctly or executed it in there
good luck
Fixed it,
After reinstalling the EnableRapi.cab which got lost in some sort of way. Everything went A ok

Sanity Check - Still CID Unlocked?

So I've upgrade my old 8125 successfully - got a new one due to a second USB port coming off main board. This new one is a slightly newer model - T2. Anywho - Was running Lokiwiz to CID and SIM unlock. Successfulyl Sim unlocked - also THOUGHT i successfully CID unlocked it (based on the progress of the program - all the way through auto hard reset),
but apparantly I didn't (as confirmed by the MTTY tool telling me I don't have sufficient privelages to create image of rom and an invalid Vendor ID error upon tmobile rom RUU). Also i get the familiar "fat format failure" message at the option screen when hard resetting.
So i can flash the heck out of the device with old and new Cingular roms as well as the TouchFlo and Touch Diamond roms but the only thing that changes after successful flashing is the splash screen and depending on the ROM the IPL/SPL number. The device remains frozen and hangs on the Boot Loader screen.
So in attempt to get this thing up and running i need a sanity check.
Mmy first question is
1) Based on info above would you agree the device is still CID unlocked?
2) Is there (cuz I can't find one) a utility besided IMEI unlock to get into the phone and CID unlock it through the RBG boot loader screen?
3) Since I UNSUCCESSFULLY CID unlocked the device using Lokiwiz in the first place - I still have the output file from Lokiwiz - is there a way that the IMEIUNLOCK progrogram from IMEI UK can read this binary file and unlock the device or do i just need to pony up the 40bucks and CID unlock this.
I can't think of another way to get back to a functioning device.
Additional Thoughts
I also had a thought - which is probably an impossibility - but is there any way if I get the IMEI unlock code from Cingular to somehow get it into the IMEI Unlock software or use some other program like MTTY to insert that code into the phone?
DAMN! - I still don't know how the CID unlock didn't go through the first time. -Maye it was because the rom didn't roll back.
BRoke Down
and purchased IMEI unlock - unlocked just fine. Now I was able to upgrade to the Tmobile rom- INstallation went through without a hitch- now I am stuck on the Tmobile Boot loader- WTF can't I get past the boot loader on any rom I use? This makes no sense. Anyone have any thoughts? IPl and SPL at this point both show 2.26. THis is really pissing me off.
Try using the SD method to create a OS ROM dump and restore it. Some people works with it.

Can't make CID unlock

I need to CID unlock HTC Meteor (need to change language from ENG to Russian)
I have such ipl, spl
bree100
ipl-1.00
bree100
spl-1.10.0000
I made application unlock, but while launching SSPL-HERM.exe the devicу just turns off. If I enter bootloader instead of launching the file then I have error in flashing of this file HermesUnlocker_HardSPL.nbh The device tries to flash, going to 7% anв says there is an error and the device then boot in normal mode.
When I try to install thesese packages Cert_SPCS.cab & EnableRapi.cab I have some error, so I can't install them.
I made application unlock and now I DOESN'T HAVE this error (insufficient trustlevel. You need to application unlock your device (or sign executable with privileged cert), so I can install third parties software.
What should I do know?
i dont know whats you mean ! why not ask for help from jerpelea ?
Just try this cab file. You r russ,i'm from China, and we are firends!

[Q] How can I tell if my HTC HD7 sim unlocked?

I know this may be a ridiculous question, but since I bought my HTC HD7 from eBay and the seller claims that it is "Unlocked", rather than taking their word for it, I just want to be positive.
I took the back casing off and I can see that there is no sim inserted. When I turn it on, it says "SIM error - The SIM card is missing or invalid".
The whole reason that I'm interested in knowing this is because I am thinking of using ansar.ath.gr's SLSPL ROM to lower the bootloader version of the device.
Here are the details from the phone:
Carrier: T-Mobile US
OS version: 7.10.7740.16
Firmware revision number: 2250.21.51004.531
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Bootloader Version: 5.10.2250.0(132968)
I have booted the phone while holding the volume down button and I can see the word SERIAL, so I know it isn't halfbricked.
ansar.ath.gr has claimed that there should be no risk in attempting to flash the SLSPL ROM to a TMobile US phone --- the one thing that concerns me is that I'm not positive if the phone is in fact SIM unlocked.
Also, is the "//// ROM installation instructions ////" section an elaboration of step 2, or step 3 from ansar.ath.gr's SLSPL ROM thread?
Thank you in advance.
insert a non-TMoUS SIM.
also. the will not make your TMoUS device magically into a Europe device.
ansar's SLSPL will not work.

Thanks man. According to ansar.ath.gr, some people were able to flash the SLSPL ROM to their TMobile US phone (think they mentioned it on page 2) so I just tried it and got the invalid vendor ID message.
It looks like it will be goldcard method for me.
Thanks.
insert a non-TMoUS SIM.
Need further help determining if my HTC HD7 is unlocked
Please pardon any incorrect methods of posting upon these forums. This seemed like the most logical place to ask since it already adressed my questions and was posted relatively recently.
Regarding the questions and answers already provided...
"insert a non-TMoUS SIM." and look for what? Indicating what?
In other words I have an HTC HD7 from t mobile. I've inserted an AT&T Sim It powers on and I receive this message:
Warning
there is no sim card, PIN code has not
been entered or the phone is in airplane
mode.
Please insert SIM card, enter PIN code, or
turn off airplane mode to use Connection
Setup.
So what does it mean? I paid to have it unlocked but since there is no simple way to check this I have no idea if it worked or not. To add to the confusion I was on my 4th. attempt, (1 remaining), when I entered the code provided and the screen asking for said code disappeared. So I assumed the unlocking procedure worked but never had anyway to verify this at the time, (approx. 1 month ago).
Now I have my doubts because of the a fore mentioned warning screen and for the fact I can't get any *.XAP to install to the phone. Now I'm not smart man but after, say 2 maybe three days of trying different things, I think something would have worked but haven't had any luck with the selections sourced here on the XDA site.
So now I just want to reduce things down to the level of fruit flies and simply find out if the phone is hard locked or if indeed it is unlocked and my woes are coming from something else - the later case a subject for another post entirely.
I suppose I should provide the following about my phone:
OS ver. 7.10.8107.79
Firmware rev. # 2250.21.51202.531
HW rev. # 0002
Radio software ver. 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio HW ver. A>12.0.D4
Bootloader ver. 5.12.2250.0(135916)
Chip SOC ver. 2.2.5.0
Phone HTC HD7
Carrier is T mobile
Computer used with device runs windows 7 64 current
I look forward to any information you may provide regarding the current state on my phone in regards it's locked or unlocked status.
Thank you in advance for your time and patience
