I've just bought a HTC Charmer (T-mobile MDA Compact2). As I was looking for a french rom, I've read that the charmer was nearly the same (or exactly ?) pda as the Wizard. So As I've found a french rom for wizard, I tried to flash the charmer with it, thinking that if it was not good, it would reject the rom... Or, the flashing process has gone well till the 100% but now, the phone does not even want to light on.... :shock:
Do you think there's something possible to do ?? :?:

What symptoms do you have exactly? No led, no backlight, no text on the screen, no charging? What happens if you try to enter the bootloader?

In fact, after the flashing process, the phone switch off, and now, I cannot switch it on, if I put the usb cable, the pc does not detect anything, but the led ...
I let the beginnning but finally it starts !!!!
Yesterday, I disconnected the battery so as the secure one discharge also, and a few minutes ago, I put it on the 220V without hope and the led lighted ! and no it starts, but in German .. (I do not really understand this..)
So do you think that I should retry the french wizard rom ? Or this try cannot work ?
If this is the case, does someone know where I could find the English Charmer Rom (I do not find the T-mobile download page anymore) or better a french one

Well, i think that for you it's better to flash your device with a charmer ROM. On the ftp there is only a english ROM, not french.
No in fact it works again, but it's still in german ...
Could you please give me the link of the french rom ? I cannot find it...

So the phone works, in german, but there's someting really strange.. if I try to put it in bootlaoder mode, it's impossible, it switch off but do not swith on after, and not at all in fact, I have to get off the battery or put it on the charger so that it starts again...
And with the charger, after the boot, I can restart in bootloader mode, but at the second I unplug the charger, the phone switch off and it's not possible to restart witout the charger.....
Do you have an idea of what's happening ?? And how I could flash with an english rom ?? (doesn't work with the cradle USB cable..)

I think that the best thing to do is to flash the ROM with the WWE or German, as you like, you will find the ROMs on the Charmer section of the FTP.
Put your device in bootloader mode with the usb connected, then upgrade the ROM.
Indeed that would be the best solution but with the usb cable, it doesn't stay in bootloader mode, it switch off immediately ...
Do you know a reason of this behaviour ?

Hi, I am totally desperate. I tried to update my VPA III Vodafone Germany to MDA III T-Mobile Germany newest ROM as described in wiki. I used the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, but it did not work. Now my VPA ist totally dead! I tried to get into bootloader (Power, Record and Softreset) but nothing happens. Just a black screen. Please, please help me...

Can you enter bootloader mode by pressing power and recording button. If yes, then your phone is not death yet.

do the lights even come on? does anything happen? i have seen people try pulling their battery out for a few minutes and even just letting it charge for a few hours..
It might be that your battery power have run out. Try to somehow recharge your battery (use a different wizard device perhap) and retry.
i try to charge the bat with wall charger ... but wizard still wont ON

I experienced that too. It's not a ROM problem. I think you left your hima on the cradel while the PC is off. That's why your battery drops down. And even though you turn ON the PC it still not charging but your battery keeps on going down. Try to charge using your adaptor NOT on PC. And it will solve your problem.
