BUG with the WM6 'Task Manager' and Today refreshing - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

Hopefully this hasn't already been posted, but I just figured out a problem with my T-Wing that has been pissing me off for a while.
The issue: If I change my today plugins, they will not update until I soft reset.
I scoured through settings, uninstalled programs one at a time, nothing. I hard reset and reinstalled programs one at a time, still had the problem.
I finally realized that, without thinking about it, one of the first things I was doing was disabling the 'Task Manager' button on the Today screen (in the top right corner.)
If any of you guys experience this issue, check if you still have this enabled on Today. If not, to reenable it, go to Start > Settings > System > Task Manager and in the Button tab check 'Enable Quick Menu on the Today Screen.
I've toggled this on and off and verified that it was causing my problem...
Hope it helps!!
Ryan

Thanks, I was wondering why the screen wasn't refreshing...I thought it was the change in the pagepool that caused the bug, but guess not.

Freeze and reset on close apps

Hi,
yesterday evening I've found a new problem: when I close any apps using the "X" button in the right top, the Diamond freeze and I must reset it, instead if I can close the apps using the Exit voice from the internal menu, the app close correctly.
I've got the same problem if I try to open the application management menu that appears only in the home (with the list of open apps and the 3 icons). I click on the "little arrow" in the right top and the Diamond freeze.
If I go to Start -> Settings -> System and then i click "Managed Programs" the Diamond reset.
I think is a problem of Windows Mobile.
Anyone had the same problem?
Thanx

Anycut shortcut to "manage applications" broken...

Hi, i created a shortcut to "Manage applications" from anycut, and it makes the shortcut, but everytime i try to use it it force closes. Any ideas? I already emailed the developer regarding this and received no reply...Could somebody try to duplicate this to make sure its not my phone?

Okay are we using a similar device? Im running JF1.42RC33 with HardSPL...stock audio removed and caches on SD.
I think you should try to erase it and create it again.

Yeah Ive tried that plenty of times...I usually delete it right after figuring out it STILL doesnt work...the first couple times i did EXACTLY that, deleted it then made another one to see if maybe i caught it while it was thinking or something....still always forcecloses...i know i can make other shortcuts and they work fine...just that one doesnt wanna work.
EDIT: I uninstalled Anycut and reinstalled...i opened it up from the notification bar when it downloaded, and made the shortcut to manage applications, and it worked! BUT, it still doesnt work if i try to make one by longpressing the homescreen....some weird problem with that i guess, i dunno...anyways, i got my shortcuts to work, so problem solved, and thanks for wasting your time replyin to this crap...
bmfc1987: Your suggestion fixed my problem! I think it's a bug. Creating the "Manage Applications" shortcut by long-tapping on the Home screen doesn't work, the shortcut keeps force-closing. However, by opening Any Cut directly, and then creating a new shortcut for "Manage Applications", it works.

AnyCut & AndTweet Problems

I recently went from RC33 to ADP 1.5(JF), and everything went smoothly. However, when I installed AnyCut and went to 'edit existing shortcuts', there's nothing listed there. There's definitely shortcuts on home screen; some dragged from menu bar, some created with AnyCut's 'new shortcut' option. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, rebooting, hell I've even wiped again trying to get it to work and it doesn't! I'm going to send an email to Jeff Hamilton (creator of AnyCut) later and see what he thinks.
Also, AndTweet is a twitter client for Android. After installation it works fine for the time the phone is on. After rebooting, however, it goes into the options menu of AndTweet and hitting back brings me back to Home screen. Only uninstalling/reinstalling gets this to work, but only if the phone isn't restarted.
Both applications worked fine before the update. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance for any help!
Anyone else having this/these problem/s?

Sprint Default Config keeps downloading

It randomly downloads and resets all my screens and set up. What is causing this?
Thanks
Try going to settings/apps/sprint id/force stop
I would factory reset it and try it all again.
The next time you get the notification, long press it in your drop down, click app info. When the sprint id screen comes up, uncheck notifications in the upper right corner. I never installed the sprint id, that's where all the bloat comes from.
Sent from the only "ONE"
I had the same issue. Here's how I stopped it while also preventing it from using up background resources.
Open up Settings->Apps
Swipe over to "ALL"
Find "Sprint Installer"
Disable it
Never be prompted by it again
This is what I did too.. .was annoyed like anything when it wiped off my screensaver and all the apps I put n homescreens
All good now

I tried this and upon restart, the message returned. In Running Apps, Sprint ID lists Sprint Installer as a service being used, and I assume this is how this Default Config continues to be presented to me. I can stop Sprint ID as well, but it all goes back into service upon restart. Any other ideas?

How in the world do I enable " Permit Drawing over other apps"?

I have tried this

Settings > Advanced Settings > Applications > choose your app > scroll down to Permission Manager takes me back to Applications every time.
Settings> Security & Privacy> Permissions takes me back to Settings every time.
I have twrp installed and the phone is running 1.9.104 ST. Help? Thanks!
Hi! I don't know if you still have this problem but i found your question just the other day looking for an answer. Well now I found one! Without root none the less.
The solution I found was in an other app called "Settings Search". I was tired of looking around for the right setting and installed this. Anyway, when going in from the app to the applications settings, I got in another application list apart from the one you get in the phones settings. In the cogwheel up in the right corner you can get to the "Draw over other apps" settings.
Cheers!
on 2.5xxx you do the
Settings > Advanced Settings > Applications > choose your app > Permissions > Display Floating Window
I'm having the same issue
I tried with the settings search, and I do see the permission, but whenever I try to use the app that needs it, a message displays saying "it seems like your device doesn't support screen overlays"
what can I do?

I found that almost all are already checked when entering the alternative application list. But just uncheck the app you want and check again and it will work (i think)

Screen overlay is permission to display floating window. You don't need extra app. Just allow this permission from the application settings
I found the solution!
Like two others said go to permissions, toggle 'display floating window' from unknown to accept. But i found that still they didn't get the permission of drawing over the apps. So I went to application in settings and cleared the data, then opened the app, it started afresh with displaying floating window permission already granted! Remember if you uninstall and reinstall then permissions will reset, so you must reset the data and start afresh after you enable floating over apps permission to accept. Thank you
