SDHC/WM6: Extract drivers? - Palm Treo 750 ROM Development

Just curious: the consensus seems to strongly hint that the WM6 upgrade adds SDHC support to the 750.
Can anyone extract those drivers for others to use? (Here I'm thinking about other Treo users, like the 700 series--though hopefully it'll work on SD as well as miniSD).
Any volunteers?

Anyone? Im trying to convince one of my friends to let me upgrade his 750 to WM6. If i am able to convince him then i'll just need help on how to extract the drivers...

I don't have an SDHC card, so I don't know if they are compatible or not. However, the leaked WM6 does allow you to choose to encrypt the data on your memory card so it can only be read by your phone. Not sure if this helps.

I upgraded to WM6.0 on my Treo 750 and now my 4.0 GIG SDHC mini sd works. The treo would not recognize the card on WM5.0, so the drivers must be built into WM6.0.

Yes, I found the drivers in the registry:

How could I extract this for you?

Hopefully malatesta will post up. I think we would need a copy of the registry and copies of the .dll's required for those.

bleony,
Very cool! This might work then. Let me look into what needs to be done and I'll get back to you as I'm not sure how to proceed next, lol (Plus I don't have an SDHC card to test either!)
...off to fetch help!

I have an 4GB SDHC, so once we get something extracted and transfered i'm good to test... As far as my friend goes he sold his 750 before i got back to him and bought an iPhone...

here
dumped files from CHEEIMG.nbh.
then i picked up files and registry relateive (possible) to SDHC.
can you try this?
http://rapidshare.com/files/48812517/SDHC.zip.html

I will try it out on my I730

no
This does not work for my I730 running WM5.

i guess need some digital signatur on dll to anable work,

That one doesn't work but these drivers do! Most people report being able to use up to 4GBs, but I can actually use up to 5GBs on my 8GB SDHC SD Card on my i730!

Removing extended ROM from .nbh file. Will it unbrand my Treo 750?

I have gone though several threads but still can't find an answer to my question.
I have the Spanish Vodafone 6.0 update which I have already installed on Treo 750v devices using the SD card method (copying CHEEIMG.nbh to a formatted mini SD card and boot phone in bootloader mode with the card inside).
I need to apply this update again to a Treo 750 (not Vodafone) so I'd like to remove the carrier customization.
Even though I have flashed many phones I'm very inexperienced when it comes to modifying/cooking ROMs.
My question is: I have the HTC ROM Image Editor. If I remove the two files that show up in the Extended ROM, save the ROM file (nbh file) now with a clean extended ROM, and use it to flash a phone, will that unbrand the phone?
As I see it and with my limited knowledge on the subject, if I remove the extended ROM from the ROM image (before flashing the phone) then I flash it with the edited ROM then it won't install the carrier customized features. Am I right?
This is how the ROM image looks like after removing extended ROM files and saving the changes.

Please, help a newbie.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. If someone has a Spanish WM6.0 Treo 750 generic ROM and can upload it somewhere, please let me know. That would also help me resolve my problem in a much easier way.
I suggest you remove everything except the "OS" when cooking roms; after extracting the nb files from the nbh, the os.nb is the only file that is worked on.
additional, you should remove any thing in the ext partition before reflashing because the carrier junk will still be there even if you flash with a custom rom. Look into the Unlocking and Unbranding thread for that.
Thanks for your reply. Actually, I'm not trying to cook a ROM, I'd just like to know if after removing the extended ROM I'll be able to flash a phone with the modified ROM image and leave it unbranded.
Based on your reply, I'd say the answer would be yes.

hahaha... Who want´s to unlock the HD for free???

MOD EDIT: This method does not work, please see the comments by Olipro below.
This was an accidental discovery... Without apparent collateral damage and for sure Without loss of network signal...
This method was only for the HTC Touch ELF(in) but confirmed that results in the HTC Touch HD... This is the original post from HTC Elf(in)
HTC Touch HD resulted in a PTG 1.14.410.0 WM6.1 ROM Without loss of network signal... Like the HTC Touch ELf(in) only work´s with ROM's WM6.1 and WM6.5... The ELF(in)'s with WM6.0 dosen´t work!!!
What you need is to use the Total comander and delete this two files in Windows Mobile folder, SIMLock.exe & SIMLock.exe.0***.mui (*** depend of your country)
To see those two files you must activate " Show all Files " on your File explorer of HTC...

}
When you do that (deleting the files), ignore the pop up message " Warning! Could not delete 1 file(s) " and continue... Don´t worry...
Then you copy this file rilgsm.dll to your Windows Mobile folder and confirm the Overwrite...
****** This file (rilgsm.dll) had previously copied to the root of your memory card, and with total commander, now you pick that file and move to the folder WM ******
After that, reboot the HD and trie another SIM card... Done!!!
Let me Know if it work´s for you too... I hope yes...
I think the credits should go to zerostuff who bring´s this idea to XDA and this discover was made on www.gsmin.com in this thread on #111 by PhoenixPT
Ps: Sorry for my bad english...
cumps
This seems to be a good news, but I thought SimLock feature is locked onto the hardware. will wait for the testing result.
Already tested on one HTC Touch Blackstone HD, and 100% SIM_unlocked...
But i'am curious to see if it work´s with more HTC's HD
won't work and can't work.
the lock is in the radio chip, not the OS, replacing some DLL will do nothing.
sure it'll work for the OMAP devices because the entire locking implementation exists in RIL, this is not the case for MSM.
wont work

Ok... I don´t fight with you because you know mutch more than me... But... Can you explain me why it work on One HD????

actually I should pay better attention: you replaced rilgsm.dll
try and make a phone call or to recieve one, it won't work, the rilgsm.dll is architecture specific, all you've achieved is that you've just broken your phone, might wanna delete that rilgsm about now
uhm what a stupid joke =)
Thread closed due to dangers of damaging your phone, messing with the RIL can land you with a real brick. I mean the sort Olipro and cmonex can't fix .

Checked also with 2 USB cables it's not USB cable issue. any fix?
I had some trouble with mine too for a couple of days. i didn't get any error codes and twice, my laptop just restarted itself with a Windows blue screen error. I don't know what fixed it but the next evening, I tried just once and it went through without any issues. Only different things I did were:
1. Flashed from a folder created on the desktop screen on my laptop
2. Shut down all other applications and windows that were open

is it possible they something in the stock rom that is causing it ? since it's a brand new replacment.
Anyone pleasE?
Have you tried messing with the "allow usb connections" setting in the WM Device Center? Turn it OFF (yes off) then try, then turn it on and try. That was messing me up when I flashed stock ROM. Good luck. Let me know.
Hard Reset did the job thanks everyone

using more then one sd card

Whenever I switch out sd cards it freezes why is that?
Can this be fixed?
need way more info about what you're running to answer that
I use a rom and both have the 3 partions and both have the music but whenever I want to switch the G1 frooze on me. I use MotoBlur Rom
umm. apps2sd?

Then there's your answer... you're taking out the sdcard on which applications are running from, ofc its gonna freeze... Its like you take out your hard drive from your computer and then suddenly wonder why it stopped working...
i'm not trying to be mean, but do you understand your 3 partitions? you music resides on the fat32 that you can see when you mount it to your pc. the ext2/3/4 is where your apps reside. that doesn't show when you mount to your pc. so when you put in your other card. your apps are missing, hence the fcs.
so then what should I do to get my other card working? Reboot?
Its almost impossible to switch cards with apps2sd. You either need to copy all the apps from one sdcard to the other sdcard and mirror them back and forth or take off apps2sd.

There's a script in here to do it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563679
Also there is an app called BART that will back up your ext partition
There is another way to do it in terminal, you can also do it in Ubuntu. So there are multiple ways of doing this.
sillyshyme, you are just full of these

[Q] Swap External SD w Internal (Xperia V)

I think I saw a post with the solution but I can't find it anymore. I really want to play good hd games but those are huge in size 2-3 GB per games. Is there any way I could swap my external sd card with my internal so that when I install games and apps all the data files goes into external sd card? or maybe after I install the game in phone memory I could transfer it to external sd card without any problem? I searched for it but couldn't find anything that will solve the properly without any problem.
The SDExtswap thread was removed since it didnt work properly.
There were just as many Xperia V's it didnt work on as where it did work.
Mine were in the group where it didnt work.
Hopefully someone knows a proper way to do it. I'm very interested aswell.
Not because of HD-games, but because I usually sync my spotify-playlists, and they are huge.

not even any way to successfully transfer game data to externalsdcard after I install the game normally on phone memory? that's sad. I hate sony's 3 way sdcard system. first device memory then there is internal memory and external and then when I connect it with cable I only have access to 1.70gb and external sd
you can disable internal memory :
active init.d (by pimp my rom)
and install Smanager !
copy this : http://db.tt/Bn1IIvEE in init.d folder
and run that script with Smanager

After runing the script I get two messages: "mount: Operation not permitted".
Is there any other way to have possibility to install on sd card? Please, help.
