Are you sure you have formatted your storage?
After flashing you should disable KITL and format your storage, as it is written in wm2005 flashing instructions...

Yes, i do that correctly each time y upgrade my device.
thanks

Really strange. My PH10B works perfect on wm5 and wm6...
Try to flash some clean rom, without running extrom customizations.
Did you reformatted your disk-on-chip to join extrom with storage? Although it shouldn't make a difference...
Really, I don't know

I have same (PH10B) device.
everything ok.
Check your step carefully

Upgrading to TuMa 1.3: Must have an SD Card?

I successfully upgraded from WM2003 to WM2005 some months ago. I'd now like to upgrade again to TuMa 1.3. Currently my existing rom is 5.03.02 and it crashes quite regularly - especially if people call me.
Anyway, I've been reading through the wiki and a lot of the threads again but there's one thing I can't seem to understand. It seems as if upgrading requires an SD card? Is this the case?
Now, before I'm accused of not reading the documentation, I have and it quite clearly states, "copy the EXTROM folder to your storage card". That's fine and well but I've never had an SD card so how did I manage the first upgrade?
What I've been trying to find out (with little success) is if "storage card" is like the ROM storage area but before I flash my SPV M2000 into a very expensive paperweight I thought I'd better check. Better safe than sorry I guess.
Can someone confirm?
no sd card
i've got a spv m2000 and no sd card but i've managed to upgrade to tuma 1.3 no problem i just copied the extrom to the storage on the phone got less storage now but still works fine

Do you remember where you copied it to? Was it the root directory or just in My Documents?
My worry is I'll copy it somewhere that the install program won't be looking. In the documentation it explicitly states "storage card/EXTROM". It'd be just my luck to copy to the files to the root of my device - try to flash it and having it fail because it couldn't find the image files.
You seriously don't have an SD Card?!
Go to a store, buy a 128 MB one for nearly nothing. Honestly, I can't imagine running a Windows Mobile device without one, especially Windows Mobile 5. There just isn't enough space natively in the device.
You don't technically NEED anything in the EXTROM folder either. Alternatively, you can just take all of its contents (cab files) and put them on your device using activesync, and run them in File Explorer to install them. It's the same thing, just not automatic.

I've not had the need to use much memory on the phone really.
When I had an iPAQ I needed loads of memory and was always using it everywhere but I've found the SPV to be very slow (hopefully improved with the new ROM) and also the headphone socket is proprietary so I can't use headphones that fit my ears that don't fall out.
As well as this, I no longer use Windows - well I use my gf's laptop to flash the phone but that's about it. There's very little integration with Unix and the SPV and it's led to a dramatic reduction of usage.
I've heard of some programs that can sync with Evolution on Unix but they're very unstable at the moment and require quite some understanding to get working and I don't have the time to get that working just yet - maybe in a few weeks time.
I've already ordered an SD card but was just a little excited about the prospect of flashing the ROM (it's like Christmas morning for me!) and was wondering if I could do it without it.
Anyway, running the cabs one by one sounds like a solution for the time being. I thought it needed to replace parts of the sub-system that needed a hard reset no?
Once the ROM is flashed, will Device Information reflect the ROM Version as WM5 5.1.1700?
There is no problem to flash this rom without SD card, because you can install manually every cab from extrom after flashing

Thanks xplode.
I've worked out that the cabs are completely independent of the ROM update and as such don't even need to be on the device.
I thought they were like install files and needed to be present after reboot for the flashing to complete properly. My mistake.

WM 6 ext roms?

Hi guys. Here's the deal. Can you flash a WM5 ext rom in a WM6 device. I have a wizard and i'm just wondering. is it possible? or do I need a wm6 ext rom? OH and ive searched my head off and i cant find anywhere with the aforementioned ext roms..........any help? Thanks in advance.
You can (However you may need to use itsutils yourself), however note that software and settings in WM5 ext rom may not be fully compatible with WM6.
btw, you can just use Total Commander and navigate to \Extended_ROM and make a backup to files there to your SD card, then install what you need after flashing WM6, that's the same unless not automatic.

sorry to butt in but WST allows to copy all files (or just some) to the Hard Drive in an easy manner
btw, WST can also be used to flash an extended rom in .nb format (decrypted as a partition image)

PLEASE WRITE YOUR REVIEWS AFTER DOWNLOADING THE DRIVER
you are still have strong spirit to try SDHC card
Yup..even though i dnt have a SDHC card.but im planning on buying it
Not working
Not working for me. Besides, all those SDHC posts contain drivers that are different then on my Hima. The cab contains SDMemory.dll and SDBus.dll while my original drivers are SDMemory.dll and SDBusDriver.dll.
I adapted my registry to correct this difference, but that didn't help. No more Storage Card at all.
My guess is that it is not for normal SD but for micro SD, hence the different bus drivers.
For the record: I'm using the 7.0c of c_shekhar.
New link is also not working. Again not even after changing registry.
hmmmm....well lets see if some one else also comments abt it..

IMHO changing the file names would be a better way to try than changing registry.
@rvdrijt
Did u follow the instructions written at top
Yes. And then I had no more Storage Card link.
So then I tried hacking my reg, also without good results.
@Maggy
I've tried that before, but I could not remove the old SDBusDriver.dll. That's why I tried changing the reg. Any idea on how to remove the old one and then rename the new?
this might sound like a noob question,
over the universal forum they've figured out a working driver that supports at least an 8GB SDHC and I've tested it myself with a PQI 8GB and it works,
so I was just wondering if we can import that driver out to himalaya and make it work because from my understanding SDHC support is not based on the hardware rather than driver update for the device, and since it's been made for both WM5 and WM6/6.1 over there so technically it should work for our WM6 himalaya too, no?
just my 2 cents.
thanks..but the drivers are not the same..any way if you can attach the file maybe i will take a look..all the drivers i have tested just remove your atm functioning SD cards drivers also
This should be the latest SD driver that was used in Ranju's WM6.1 ROM,
but in case it's different, you might wanna take a look at the cooked ROM yourself as I'm not experienced with that.

is there any other way to do hard reset i mean programmcally or any other means
or jst replace the sd drivers
plz help
I think sk-tools can do a hard reset by software, maybe memmaid to, I don't know it exactly. But sk-tools I´m sure.
hi any free tool
plz
Even if sktool is unregistered, this function isn't restricted, as I remember.
Hi thanx
yeah thast right just need to highlight at the beggning for hardreset
so i did hardreset
now problem not gone away no sd card at all
so now what should i do
while hardreset push Camera and Recordbutten to get the early Bootmenu.
With Recordbutten you can select the Item and with Camerabutton you change status.

WM6.5 ROM for 43MB storage

Hello,
I cannot resize my storage to 60MB for some reason.
I'm receiving well known error:
FL_IOCTL_FORMAT_PHYSICAL DRIVE failed.
However is there any WM6.5 ROM that will work with 43MB storage?
This device will not be used much often so maybe 43MB will be sufficient.
Thanks in advance,
Drazen
i think our problem is same.
i've installed WM 6.5 with 43MB rom too
i think we have to downgrade and expand the main storage to 60MB
after that, upgrade it.
(see Chef_tony sticked post )
I already try that without success (i tried other suggestions also).
Is there any ROM that will work with 43MB storage?
WM6.1 or WM6 ROM is also accepted.

You must downgrade to WM2003 only than you can rezise the Storage!!!!
huh, I already tried that without success. I tried few different WM2003 ROMs and other stuff but still receive same error.
However I manage to install your ROM (Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 21888) and it works with 43MB memory.
This device is not for me so I'm happy that it works and this is all! Job done
Thank you anyway!
some devices have another DOC chip installed and therefore the storage canot be extended with the tool from my tutorial, but any rom should still work fine.
thanks ,
