Charging and Charging time - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi,
How long do you need to charge from (let say) 10% to 100%?
In my case, I need about 4 hours 30 minutes. That was really long.
Btw, can I use the old charger from the HTC Magician? I read the specification is the same though.

Battery charging

Is it normal for the battery to take 8 hours to charge? My fascinate would take about 2, the battery on this thing drains faster than it charges! Love the phone, but is this normal?

I've noticed it takes a while to charge mine too...granted, not 8 hours. But more like 3-4, which still sucks.
Ya, I plugged mine in 3 hours ago and am only at 38%.
Check the amps on the charger. USB from the computer is usually 500mA. The charger that comes with it, and most others are 1A. If you can find a 2A charger go for it. you can get one that was for the ipad that is 2A.
My experience so far is it charges approximately 20% per hour on a Motorola 850mA wall charger. Really slow compared to my OG Droid which seemed like it would fully charge from nearly dead in about 90 minutes on the same charger.
With the wall charger I can full charge from 20% in 1 to 2 hours. I never charge more than 2 hours to get full.
USB takes longer but not that much. 3hrs maybe.
Battery Charging Issues
I do fuel cell research and we deal with rechargeable batts. There is a drawback with rapid charging it generates heat and shortens lifespan. Be very careful with exceeding the manufact. specs on amperage. I have seen packs explode and burn when current overload protection fails.
My batt life is about 8 hrs after I deep discharged/charged for a few cycles and the charge time is quicker now. My Rev stays cool unlike my flashed Omnia 910.
I will not be too surprised if LG issues a software fix.
In the dawn of the smart-phone one has to accept short battery life and deal with ac chargers, I do on a daily basis. Only so much energy can be stored in a small form battery.
Through USB, it takes me about 8-9 hours to charge, and if thats if the alarm doesn't go off on it. Bad news if it does because its either stop charging, or draining because I wake up sometimes a couple hours after a certain alarm and only have 38% battery.
Even on the wall, it takes too long to charge. The time it takes me to charge sucks.

Takes about 8hrs tops for me from dead on USB. However on the wall charger it only takes me 2 hours from dead. But i usually plug it in around 15% so really about 1hr 45min on average with the wall.
I tend to do the USB when i sleep though because as far as battery tech goes, the slower the charge the longer the battery will last(life wise, not throughout the day charge wise)
Just to give an update, my frustration level with my phone of 6 hour discharge and 8 hour charge times I decided to root, cwm, and decrapify it. Instant difference! After 1 day I put my phone on the charger at 8:30 last night with 1% battery left, it was fully charged by 10:30. Took it off of the charger at 10:30 last night and it is now 5:00 pm and I am still at 25%! This is with moderate usage, 4g on the whole time, Beautiful Widgets w/auto updating weather and location, Plume widget, Facebook widget, Youtube widget, and plenty of XDA scanning. If you haven't done so, I highly recommend the upgrades!

Battery Stuck at 50%

Anyone else having a similar problem or know of a way to fix it?
It takes a *while* to charge. Mine just hit 60%.
We shall see, been charging all day... anytime i take it off charging drops to 40ish%
Im using battstatt and it drops by 10 percent.....90.80.70 im gonna let thr battery die completely before charging and see if it changes

OK, I just saw this in another thread too... mine has maxed at 60%. Gonna le it rest, shut it off over night and put it on another charger. See what everyone says tomorrow!
Seriously guys, charge it from an outlet. It charges *really slowly* through USB.
anyone else go through the initial charge, recharge and have it at 10% 9 hrs later?

10 hours total on 4G? That's not terrible.
Charge via USB that is connected to your PC takes forever...but it does charge.
But if you unplug it and charge via the power adapter, it is much faster.
i charged mine via usb and the wall socket, wouldn't go past 50%.
I went to bed and plugged it in to teh wall charger (charge for ~7 hours), checked when i woke up, 50%
went to the verizon store and they gave me a new battery (started at 50%). plugged the phone in 2/3 hours ago, im still at 50%
my dad mentioned it could be a bad fuel gauge chip (he works at TI)
So for whatever reason, you have to use the charger that came in the box. I've had the same problem, but it was because I was using chargers from older Moto phones and HTC phones. Now that I'm using the actual Bionic charger, it's charging fast like it should.
Silly, but it apparently is the case.
I bought a wall charger that you take the battery out of the phone and charge.takes 2 hours with xtra battery 15 bucks mobiletech

From what I've read about newer handsets, the phone needs some time to figure out know how to convert raw readings into percentage of capacity. I believe, the phone figures out how much charge a battery has based on the voltage. And, I don't think the relationship is linear.
My battery seemed to be horrible the first day. Today, I've gone through 30% after 5 hours, with the screen being on for 35 minutes and wifi connected for just under two hours. I don't know if the battery is "breaking in" or the phone is reading the level differently, but things are looking better.

Quick charger ability? like moto turbo charger

Will the Sony Z3c have the ability to fast charge?
It has the supported chipset 'Qualcomm Snapdragon 801'
Wonder if the moto turbo charger will work, or if Sony will bring out their own variant.
Sony's included EP880 charger outputs 1.5 amps and I've read that it provides 60 minutes of talk time from a 10 minute charge. Not sure if that's exactly quick charge but it should be faster then a regular 1 amp charger.
In the latest phonearena review (today) it says:
Sony also claims that the Z3 Compact has fast charging capabilities and can get 60 minutes of talk time from a 10 minute charge. Stay tuned for more details on charging speeds soon.

well i found this on a google search https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/smartphones/sony-xperia-z3-compact
Nothing scientific, but I am using a Blackberry Playbook charger (1.8A output) and this thing charges FAST. I can gain like 40% charge in 30 minutes or so.
I can confirm that it charges fast. Full charge in less than 2 hours this morning.
Some days ago i charged it for 20 minutes in the morning and got 25% more juice. At the end of the day, with moderate use (taking into account that this is my new favourite toy) I had only lost 20%.
I don't know if quickcharge is available or working, but I'm more than happy with the battery and charge performance.

Question Battery charging

Whatat is the best way to charge 11T pro, from 10% to 100% or during the days a couple times , charge to 60% , charge to 80% depends how much time you have to prepare when you go outside??
You want to keep the battery as close to 50% as possible. The general rule of thumb is to keep your charge between 80% and 20%.
I read somwere that this our charger and charger of 62 wat difrently charges battery, this 120wat charge it so fast that the battery dont have time to fully charged but with 62 wat charger it takes a litlle longer and battery can least more than a day, its a very big diference adn people on Reddit confirming that ..

I don't know and I don't care. You're still replacing it in a couple of years so why bother?
Performing the test with a 20w charger and the 120w charger, the battery time estimate is more or less the same but after similar use ,the use time with a 120w lasts less than that of the 20w.

I don't think that the "estimated" time will change after 1-2 charges. I think it takes into account many previous charges. (that I guess you did with 120W)

Absolutely not, it is obvious that for physical reasons, the 120w charger remains a charger for people in a hurry and that the best charge for this type of battery remains the low and long charge.

I wouldn't be so sure my friend.
In Another Samsung phone with removable , I have a really old battery that lasts like an hour or two and a brand new original that lasts 36 hours.
When I had used the good battery (and get an estimated remaining time of let's say 28h) when I switch to the old battery the E.R.T. is still 20+ hours. Nevertheless it runs out in a couple of hours.
Same with cars and consumption.

Question Charging question

When I charge my tablet I shut down before charging. How do you guys charge yours? I think it charges better if it's not running. I've done that for years with all my tablets. I know it takes about 4 hours with the supplies charger from around 10%. I'll try a fast charger next time.
