A lot of Questions - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi Guys,
Thanks in advance for all your help, so i have a lot of questions about this phone...here goes
1. What are the main differences between the AT&T Tilt 8925 and the HTC Kaiser/Tytn II? Does it make sense to spend the extra 200 bucks and get the HTC? or go for the ATT version? I am a Go Phone user, so I'll be buying the phone full price from AT&T. Also, apart from the phone being locked, would the GPS be locked as well?
2. Do you guys carry the phone in your pocket? And if so, does it feel chunky? I have a Nokia 6280 right now, and I'm quite okay about that one.
3. A lot of people complain about the battery life of this phone, but do you think its fine, if you charge it every night. I usually tend to charge my phone every night anyway.
4. I'm a very SMS (Text messaging), person, and I'm really quick on the normal phone keypad, how's the SMS'ing on this phone? Do you guys like it? And also, I'll be using a smart phone for the first time, so after a point of using the phone, can you text/ type on the qwerty without looking at the keypad?
5. I believe the ATT 8925 comes with a bunch of stuff (basically crap) and no touch flo? Is this true?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Jatin

1. SEARCH
2. I carry it in my pocket and it feels pretty comfortable, but, then again, I am used to carrying phone this size for a while now.
3. If you charge it every night, you should be fine with the battery life. If you do use GPS all the time, then, I would suggest a car charger.
4. I don't text message that much but the keyboard has been perfect for me so far for what I need.
5. ATT8925 has a bunch of shareware. You can, once again, SEARCH for different kinds of remedies. ATT8925 does have TouchFLO, just not the cube feature (neither does TyTNII).

Here's a thought moderators...Why not start a newbie forum where noobs can help each other out with questions like this? Only allow them to post in that forum for some time period or other, giving them time to read only on the rest of the forum? I've only been around a short while, but it seems the tolerance for these posts is dwindling. Just a thought.
Jatin, almost all your questions are opinion based but here goes.
1. no, not worth it, mainly the rom is diff. and the front camera, gps unlocked.
2. yes, pocket, yes chunky
3. fine, charge it every night
4. it's fine
5. yes bunch of crap, can get rid of it, yes touch flo on some apps.

Trying to decide...

Hi!
This post might seem abit anoying or so but I am trying to decide if I should get this phone now or wait and see what happens with the GPS and the memory issue, I can also state I prolly will be a messaging freak like MSN/Skype and so just dont know how bad that will go with the memory issue... also ofc MP3 / Webradio most of the day at work.
I also want to add I have read everything here from day to day just so you know I am not posting this just for a fast shortcut in my life, I basicly want to get some feedback from ppl that have used this phone more the just a simple review on Google ^^
so... basicly I have some fast questions
1. Do you find the memory beeing an issue if I wanna run MSN/Skype/Music at the same time (ofc Skype / Music aint at the same time but Skype will prolly be online in the backgruond for incomming calls)
2. The battery I also read is somewhat of a issue, also read about the ppl trying to find bigger ones but will it like last 8-10 hours if I use it like in question 1.
3. I also read somewhere that the Basic verison of WM6 dont have as much support for programs like the Pro does? (Not as many programs made for Basic?) and if that is true I have noooooo clue at all
If I come to think of soemthing more later I'll ask again.
Well thx in advance to the ppl that will give me some guidance in my life here during new year times and with to much money in my christmas gifts I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

my long road to the s730 wings
I dont know if this will answer any of your questions but I thought it was appropriate enough to post.
I started with the T-Mobile Dash which is indentical to the HTC s620. I broke the screen right away and instead of replacing it I decided to purchase an unlocked version I could use with my T-Mobile account while travelling abroad. (I have since learned I could have just unlocked my Dash) Well broke that screen too...I guess the phone is a bit too wide to be shoved in a pocket. I then purchased an unlocked TYTN II (Kaiser) which is identical to the ATT Tilt but since I had T-Mobile I went for the unlocked version. The Kaiser was a nice upgrade from the s620 since it has a faster processor and WM6 Pro. It also has GPS which I purchased the TomTom software for only to find out that I liked my TomTom in my car better and never used it on the phone. It was nice that the screen tilted but it was like carrying around a lead weight all the time. I also hated the touch screen because it kept hitting buttons when I would use the phone. I then purchased an Iphone and switched to ATT (could have got the tilt in the first place). Hated the Iphone for the following reasons:
1. No 3G
2. Slippery and wants to jump out of your hand
3. Cannot install third party apps
4. No USB connector
5. Email sucked and didnt sync with outlook
6. ITunes wouldnt install on Vista64-bit
I will say that the iphone had an amazing screen and is great for thsoe who want the "wow" factor but for those like me who text and email a ton it just wasnt good enought especially since you cannot install any third party apps.
My good friend owns an s710 and I really love it so i decided to purchase that s730 which is basically a 710 with a faster processor and 3g. I love this phone so far and the only downside is they didnt give it the htc rubber backing my s620 and kaiser had. It doesnt slip though but the rubber would have been nice.
If you are looking for speed I feel it is fast for a smartphone and is faster than the kaiser probably due to a bit smaller screen and less demanding apps. The memory is not a problem and everything seems to work great so far. The battery seems to last twice as long as the kaiser which only lasted a day. I am hoping to get at least two days but with a smartphone more than a day is good. Overall I think the s730 is a powerhouse in a small package. It is what I have been waiting for in a phone. It could be a bit slimmer but I guess I will have to wait for another version Hope this helps!
Yeah thx for the Re:
Might go ahead and order one soon then ^^
yup second day now and battery still has 30% left since it came out of the box (havent charged it once yet). I talked on it all day too but didnt use much of the keyboard or internet/bluetooth. The battery life is plenty good enough!

Thx for all replies, I will take everything in cosideration
Hi,
I got this phone only for one week now, but I must say I am amazed. I was going for the Kaiser, but that's too heavy for me to put in my pants
The Wings is still a bit heavy, but it's amazing what it can do. I use it for phone/pushmail/calendar/sms and can type pretty fast on that little keyboard now.
I do however charge it every night, but with regular use of mail I can hold it for 2 days.
The UMTS/HSDPA works flawless and at home / office it switches to WiFi perfectly.
My Audi A4 Carkit recognises the phone and I can even use the Audi software to dial/see diallog (missed/received calls etc), where my Nokia N73 just would only connect and I had to use the N73 keypad.
If only the GPS could also come to live, it is my ideal phone!
Hans

Is it worth it?

Hi Guys
heard this phone can be sluggish. If you apply the tweaks above, do you still thing the phone is sluggish and how long does the battery last? Ive also heard that the cellular reception is crap?
Please give me your honest thoughts.
Please factor in that i'm a power user. I use everything from Word/Excel/Pocket Outlook through to Internet Sharing ... almost constantly.
isn`t there enough reviews and opinion threads onto this device here already ? is it really needed to settle down another one ?
my answer : YES it`s worth
The way I see it is like this. There is no phone that will einterly do what we want. The battery life is not much and it is a bit slow using the touch3d today. But for most part it works very good. It can multi task (so I can listen to music and play a game or internet at the same time)
There will always be those that will love it (I love the phone) and those who will try to bring it down. But that you will get with every phone that will come out.
I am no Iphone lover. Nice design and smoother, but to few programs that or compatible with it.
So you see, it's just where you stand. I guess if you have a girlfriend, you love her, but their will always be things of her you will not like, but you will accept it.
wow nice chap.
A few examples:
Can you just clarify for me if those "reviewers" and opinions have had the tweaks applied? Very few mention the tweaks either installed or not.
Are they heavy Office Mobile users?
I notice very few ... i mean NO .... comments from people using internet sharing.
As for reading reviews online from other site, you can pretty much garuntee they don't have these tweaks installed. I found ONE that did, a guy on CNet in Hong Kong.
So no, there are not enough reviews. I would like to hear from people who have applied these tweaks and use the apps above and internet sharing. i.e. heavy, business users of the Diamond. Anyone out there?
edit: your sig suggests you need to chill out a bit.
Thanks for the response Oddball and indeed you are correct. At the end of the day, its very much personal preference.
Are you an extensive user of Office Mobile and IS? If so, how do you find the phone using these apps (usualy for me, in meetings taking notes etc) and the battery life/performance?
What I think...
I find the device very useful for updating spreadsheets on the move, most of the time i can use the screen as normal with the finger, but depending on what tasks you want to do the stylus may need to come out.
It is great being able to edit, view and send office documents tho. I find the diamond the best of the bunch for doing this. I would say that the Touch Pro maybe better tho, as the QWERTY keyboard brings obvious benefits, see more of the screen when editing documents, more control using the keys and easier data entry.
For me tho the size of the device is important and the Touch Pro looks like its on the porkie side! After owning all manner of Windows Mobile phones and devices, including the Ameo, after having that beast (which if it wasnt for the size I would def rate as the best Windows Mobile Device ive had, 5" VGA Screen and 8gb MicroDrive, excellent stuff) ive got used to not using a hardware keyboard and i prefer the smaller, keyboardless device.
The speed of the Diamond, for me, even without the tweaks, is acceptable. I have 1.37 rom and a UK English or WWE Official UK Stock Diamond. Im more than happy with my device, excellent screen quality, very good in sunlight to. Camera is also very good (with the back cover off! cough cough! htc!!!!!!!! silly buggers!)
Regarding the Internet Sharing, i have not needed to do this as yet but I used to use the feature in the Tmobile Ameo and it was very useful if in a Wifi-less hotel or b&b. I tend to just use the built in Opera Browser and many times this has got me outta using my laptop.
(example - needed to price check an item that i was purchasing so just used Opera Internet Browser and i was tapping around and price checking within minutes)
For me the Diamond is excellent and that is thanks to the dedication and persistance of people on this forum. For me the Diamond experience will only get better.
Hope this helps!
thats all excellent info Tom, thanks very much!!!!!! Just the sort of stuff I am after
Must admit, I currently own a G900 (800x480 screen/qwerty popout) and its awesome for browsing/office etc but, I just can't live without an internal GPS anymore. Its amazing how annoying it is to think "I can just turn on the gps .... no wait, i didn't bring it out with me" gets.
How do you find the battery life whilst doing all that? Do you use push email or pop/smtp? I hear that the cell radio reception is poor, if so, do you find this affecting your battery a lot with regards to email collection/sending?
More on the Diamond Experience...
I do sometimes find that the Signal Strength is a bit poorer than ive had on previous devices, eg the Tmobile Ameo, but im sure with the guys beavering away on this forum it wont be long before a Radio update will fix that. Unless HTC pull their finger out and start taking comments on board and update as often as they can...not holding much hope. Thanks XDA Devs! At least your on the ball!
Battery life, so far, for me personally (who only has Bluetooth / wifi / internet connection when they need it) has been acceptable. Most Windows Mobile phones, when they first come out, suffer from pants battery life. I agree it is a measly capacity battery, but already extended life batteries are coming out, I however, for the moment, wont be purchasing one, but I would say someone such as yourself, it may be worth investing in one if you are to have a constant internet connection via 3G / GPRS or Wifi.
For emailing, usually just checking them I use my Diamond to receive via email via POP accounts and it has been fine doing this. Using both WIFI connections where possible and also using the 3G connection its done this brilliantly but to be honest every Windows Mobile device ive ever owned (going back to 2002 when the first SPV has came out) has been able to do this quickly and painlessly.
I agree with you, having owned a Touch Dual and a Touch and having wished they both had GPS integrated its great having it built in. Initially it took about 5 mins to find the Satellites but after it did this ive found about 20 secs and i have a fix and everythings spot on.
Having the great quality screen also helps to, as the sharp crispness is brilliant and a welcome addition to the already feature rich device that it is.
Full marks HTC for providing a small, very compact, but at the same time a feature rich phone that does everything apart from make you a cuppa tea (but can control your light switches to.... http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news4114.html whatever next! hehe!)
Will be happy to answer any more questions, please dont flame me for what I say (anyone out there) im giving you my PERSONAL experience of the phone about how I use it and understand that this may not be the case for everyone.

Exactly!
Again, thanks for a very full and detailed response. I must admit the battery life does concern me ... a lot. As mentioned I have a G900 and with its very high res screen and rubbish 3g radio, it sucks battery life. So much in fact that I virtually doubled its depth with a 3000mah battery. Having said that, I didnt realise extended batteries are already coming out for the Diamond and this gives me some confidence.
As for the email, I too have been very happy with WM devices retrieving/sending. I was more concerned with the battery life with push mail on all the time but, guess you covered that with the extended battery options
I think my next step is now back to google to see what the extended batteries do to the shape and size of the phone.
Thank you very much for your informed and helpfull opinions
Trust me, it's not slow with newer Roms. TLR rom for instance runs great, and using the TFLO3D for 'daily purpose' is just mavellous. Not slow at all.
Just opening mailbox then takes about 3 seconds. Well poe. It's with all WM devices mostly. I can wait 3 seconds ?
PRoblem is people start tapping twice, or tapping other things. Just know how to use it and enjoy it.
It's definatedly worth it.
Extended Life Batteries
No worries, glad I could help.
I found more info on the extended life batterys here
http://www.modaco.com/content/pocke...he-41-p-p-diamond-extended-battery-available/
You also get shipped a replacement cover to (because of the depth of the battery)
As the diamond is a very slim device anyway I cant see it adding alot of bulk to the device, but like i said, for the moment im gonna stick with it as standard.
I have read somewhere of a 1800mah battery that was half the price of the one above, that may be worth investigating (think it was from Clove in the UK)
If you have any more questions, ask away, I will keep me eye out!
there is indeed and it is by clove!
http://www.clove.co.uk/viewProduct....Category=CB077B5C-390D-4153-8EDD-44D1B2BEF716
It also appears to have a flat back rather than the "diamond" type. At 1800mah it should power this little device a few seriously hard worked days
Thats the one I think I would go for if i was gonna get any.
The flat back is a good idea (altho to be honest its not that unstable on its back with the diamond shaped cover on it) but the capacity would mean a good few days use outta it.
And the price is reasonable to. Be nice to find out how much extra bulk the battery adds to the phone, i think im gonna email Clove to find out.
call me curious! hehe!
EDIT ** Email sent 1st July - 3:09 - Will wait and see and will post my findings on here...
I think this one could be even better - http://www.easydevices.co.uk/products.asp?partno=BATCRUISEEXTD&model=
I think i remember seeing this one in another thread somewhere. Notice the battery part no BATCRUISEEXTD on the website.
I didnt think the Touch Cruise had the same size battery compartment as the Touch Diamond? Is this just an error on the website, or is it because they just bundle a Touch Diamond bigger back cover with it?
Will be interesting to find out. Thats one huge momma of power!

Got a reply back from Clove today and this is what they said:
Tom
Thank you for the email. We are waiting for the first of these
batteries to come through. As a result at this point we are unable to
comment on how much thickness the battery actually adds.
However based on the manufacturers other extended batteries, we can say
that they keep additional thickness to a minimum and are very good at
ensuring the casing is designed to be as slim and functional as
possible.
Guess its watch this space till they are released then!
well, having finaly seen an Omnia with a screen shot of Excel running and the popup keyboard, the keyboard took up virtually all the screen and made it to me, unusable
I've bitten the bullet and bought a Touch with an 1800mah battery.... I just REALLY hope that build quality has significantly impoved over the TyTN and BlueAngels i've had in the past... fingers crossed!
Thanks for all the advice Tom & others!

HTC Diamond NOT recommended!

Sorry to have posted
Personnaly I have to say that i used palm product for years, and blackberry too, I've been using a QTEK 9100 for two years and now switch to the Diamond and I'm really impressed...
Everything I had to say against any of my preivous machine is 'corrected' in the diamond...
Of course, it's a device running with windows mobile, so it requires tweaking, it's a hardware for geek...
I won't give it to my wife (I bought her a qtek 8500 (star trek)) but it's a really impressive piece of tech (I don't care about the multipoint of the Iphone... I really prefer the zooming option for opera...)
Don't get me wrong, I really understand how a lot of people could get frustrated or desapointed with this, but I had to give my opinion too...

Ive noticed more and more of you onthe Internet forums this past week, and its becoming a little transparent now!

HTC Diamond NOT recommended!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I quite avidly read through all forums relating to HTC products and fully appreciate the work that alot of more experienced people do within XDA-developers. However...
I must openly convey that HTC Diamond is not a user-friendly phone; nor is it reliable. I have had my handset for about one month and have encountered so many problems that it is disappointing!
Today was the final nail in the coffin for my will to purchase HTC products; my error was that I had unwittingly let the battery die. Now, I can no longer use the handset even using ac charge. The phone does not work and I now need to travel to a 'service center' so that I can pay for them to repair.
Very annoyed that the cost for such a product is so high, it is slow and the manufacture support is very poor. In fact, the only 'good thing' about this phone is its design!!
I have never tried the Iphone, but, I suspect that it is much better than this product.
Please take note!

If the Phone is complete empty, it takes some time to charge. If you use not the original usb cable it probably won´t work to charge the phone with the pc, so use the "normal" ac charger and wait at least 10 mins before you try to switch it on.
And yes, the Diamond is probably not the most userfrendly phone. But most people who buy expect a bit more than just a phone.
For me it is the best machine i ever tried. It´s the first phone wich combine the latest technic features with a unbelievable form factor! No windows mobile phone on the market can reach this combination.
Sure, there are o lot of real nice phones out there, wich are better in some points.
diamond recommended
Had my diamond about 2 months got it when it first showed up. This is a fun pda and very reliable for me. The battery is not a problem for me. I have a car charger!!
My daughter has an iphone. Nice phone, not a pda, cant do half of what i can with my diamond. Some features are better on the iphone, but the Diamond overall outshines it. I like a small compact phone. The iphone is big compared to the Diamond. I cant put the programs that i have on my Diamond on the iphone. No iphone for me. Sure I could have 2 iphones (or more) for what i paid for my Diamond, but then i would have two PHONES only. Iphones just dont do it for us PDA people. Hope iphone does good with their new release. Not for those who want a true pda. If anyone just wants a phone...i would choose iphone.
The OP has only 1 post and it's just a post to b!tch and whine about the phone - most likely you either have a dud phone or you have not upgraded the ROM to the latest local/cooked ROM and have not tweaked it to its current (not yet full) potential. Yes the phone does have it's crap here and there but overall it's a good phone.
Hello !
Sorry but he is right - the Touch diamond is NOT a good phone.
By the way - I pay 500 Euro and then must go to a forum and load tons of unsupported HTC Software to get it work the right way ?
HELLO ?
When I buy a phone for this amount it must be just working.
Without any patch.
Just use my finge and the phones touchscreen must do what I want.
It can not be that the phone then takes 2-3 seconds to think about what to do.
The touch screen needs to be tipped with the right strength !
HELLO !
You always blame the iPhone but with this device you use your finger and it does whatit should.
The Touch would be good it it would react on my commands.
It is difficult to use the finger to get internet working. Everytime the finger strikes make land on an other menu
Hey - HTC says a stron 52x MHZ CPU - my old MDA 2 was as fast in the feeling of the GUI.
bull crap!!!
the Diamond is excellent i dont know where you guys fell out of but no hassels at all
Everyone, calm down ;-) I am not an 'apple shill' nor am I a moron! Read my message; I am clearly stating that I (as a not so-experienced user) have had problems that disappoint me with this particular phone! I have had a TYTN also before.
In response:
Andrax: I have installed the 'recommended tweaks' and have had to hard reset at least 5 times! But I do appreciate your response.
Darthbane2K: I had noted that I have never had an iphone before. Take it easy mate! Apple dont pay my wages
kukurikU: thanks for your support!
horstborsch: when you buy the handset in HK, they only cover the actual warranty for 10 days. After that you have to go to the designated 'warranty' center to pay for repair!! Not my fault that CSL are given a contract.
farukb: probably not; though I am disappointed (the actual point of this thread)
Eurosportler: Thank you for your helpful and appreciated post.
BTW: As noted by 'p3eps'; this is my first post.... delete it if you dont like it!
God sake moan moan moan, you are on this forum for a reason right! That is to use the improved custom roms that help bring out the better of the phone. Too many people are impatient and dont read the instructions properly.
I for one will definately keep to this phone and know it has more potential to improve each time with the brilliant cooks coming out with great roms.
If you dont like the phone sell the phone, simple as. You can see on my list of phones that I have been more or less a htc or windows based phone for years and each phone got better and better with new and improved roms.
Im sorry but i back the Diamond to be a great phone and im sure im not the only one.

horstborsch: when you buy the handset in HK, they only cover the actual warranty for 10 days. After that you have to go to the designated 'warranty' center to pay for repair!! Not my fault that CSL are given a contract.

really? this sucks!
In germany (I think in the EU too, too bad for the UK) the manufacturer has to give you a warranty of 2 years on every electronic device and the dealer where you bought it 1 year!

Most of them would be completely lost anywhere outside of that tightly controlled apple universe.
Remember second best they are.

Dude get the hell out of here and go make a line for your fruity phone with al those duchessss. I smell fruity fan boy here.
Guys... i have a question for you if it happens that anyone knows ... I've been a Iphone user and sold my Iphone few weeks ago for the Diamond... it is still in delivery so didn't have time to check the responsiveness yet.
Well, the point is that on the Iphone all the touchs had an immediate response and everything was real fast loading. I m guessing that disabling multitasking is having something with this responsiveness but still, do you guys know how much RAM the iphone has compared to the diamond and what CPU that it use. This is only for the sake of comparaison !!!!
I 'm also thinking why would HTC not put moer RAM into their devices as it costs nothing theses days ... having 528Mb or even 1Gb of RAM would make the day of all of us i guess ...
Please correct me if i'm wrong .....

Upgrade Advice

I currently have a Kaiser (HTC TyTnII on UK Orange) but have only just looked into the HTC Touch Diamond... and wow, does it look nice!
On the Orange website it's saying I can't upgrade my phone until May next year. eBay has the Diamond at around £350.
So, I guess I'm wondering if anyone can advise me. Are Orange likely to cut me a deal if I call them up? I guess I'm bound to a contract with them at present so I can't say I'm leaving them. Will it be easiest just to buy one from eBay?
Is it worth it? Is the Touch Pro out or coming out soon? Should I wait for that?

If you can't upgrade until May then you'll get little joy out of Orange I'm afraid. You have to be in the last three months of your contract before they'll let you upgrade. However, saying that you've got nothing to lose by calling them and you may be able to get a deal if you change your package to a more expensive one.
Cal them first before going the eBay route - as I said you've got nothing to lose.
Is it worth it? Hell, yeah! I was torn between the Diamond and waiting for the Pro, but impatience got the better of me and I plumped for the Diamond.
Even though I've only had it a day I can definitely say that it is fantastic! It's up to you if you want to wait for the Pro. I've come from a TyTN II myself and I sat back and really thought about it before going for the Diamond, and basically asked myself two questions:
1. How often did I use the keypad? Very rarely, maybe three times in the eight months that I owned the phone.
2. How much free space did I have on my 4Gb SD card? 2.5Gb, so for me having 4Gb of non-upgradable storage wasn't an issue.
The final thing that swung it for me was the size of the thing. It's good to have a PDA that's "phone sized", rather than being a huge brick.
Thats a good idea Have a word with Orange and twist there arms, see what you can do. I think my missus is due an Upgrade in August and im sure she will go for the Diamond (but as shes skint, I think shes gonna put it on eBay!!!!!!!)
I love my diamond and have used phones with hardware keyboards and like the post above says, how often do you really use it?
Software professionals and IT gurus would probably miss it as im sure using a hardware keyboard and using the Remote Desktop software is a great combination, but the VGA screen is excellent on the Diamond, its the best phone ive ever owned (and ive had quite a few...see my signature!)
Diamond = Thumbs up. Theres sooo much software and tweaks out at the moment with more software coming out just around the corner!
The futures bright, the futures...errr...Diamond? hehe!

Wow, how did you cope without the keypad? I think I probably use it 10-20 times a day and this is the main reason I'm holding back on upgrading I guess.
It looks a fantastic piece of kit... but I don't think I'd like using an onscreen keyboard
How long have you been with Orange?
If it's over a couple of years remind them how much money they have had off you and if that doesn't work tell them you will consider cancelling the contract. Generally they want to keep customers so will eventually give in.
Also, it's always good to ask to speak to their line manager if they can't help.

Which phone should I get?

So, long story short, ATT screwed me over with my Fuze. I got a call from a VERY high up person from ATT, and they offered me any phone I want.
I had some problems with the Fuze: Lag, bad battery, touch screen issues, build quality issues... etc. I also hated how I always had to keep on looking for new radios, testing them, testing new ROMs. Don't get me wrong, I love to customize my phone, but it was a little over the top and a little ridiculous.
I was thinking about getting the Bold. I love the screen, I love the keyboard, never used the trackball before, and never used the BB OS. How's battery life and performance on it? I'll be using it mostly for texting, calling, and some word documents.
The iPhone is out of the question.
Thanks for the help!
Maybe get a fuze that works properly? I really have no suggestions other than that.
The best phone to get would obviously be the Fuze. However, if you want some money, then i suggest you get an iPhone (16gb), sell it on eBay and then you'll have a lot cash to buy a new phone (and even have some left over).
Good to know iphoney is out of the question!
If looking for something not too expensive I would recommend Universal because it´s great keyboard and screen!
If $ is not a problem check Touch Pro 2 or Diamond 2
Good luck,

Goes to show that WinMo is not for the weak, the noob, and the ones who don't have time. Get a Blackjack or something. that would suit you.
Btw, I think by any phone, the guy would've probably meant that any phone from at&t and I still find your story highly unlikely cause normal people do not get calls from anyone "VERY" high so to say even if you've been a customer of AT&T since it began. I highly doubt it. But sure, I suggest only 3 phones for you. BB Bold, BB Curve, Samsung BlackJack.
If you like HTC & WM, then go for Touch Pro 2 or Diamond 2.

AT&T is not selling those phones yet.
and yeah, that story is unlikely, not saying you made it up, but the person was probably a tech support supervisor, or manager.
get the iphone. if the X1 is sold through AT&T(which i dont think it is) then get that, other then that, if you dont like to customize your phone, dont get a HTC, get a LG incite or something of that nature.
the person who called me was the Vice-President of Customer Support, I found her email adress on AT&T's website and sent her an email. Got a call 3 days later I can post the link if you guys don't believe me
I do like tinkering with my phone, but only to an extent. I need a long battery for everyday trips, and I need a phone with great signal strength.
I have been with AT&T for 8 years, landline and cellular service. And my Dad's side of the line holds the entire companies phone systems, and theres around 1500 phones. AT&T would not want to lose business
Alright, so a little update, and this was great.....
I get....
A brand new Blackberry Bold
I get to keep my Fuze
And I get 200 dollars in credit
Sell the blackberry,
get a new Fuze thats not defective
Send me the credit for my bills!
