PLS help , i want the NAG screen "select network" to dissapear! - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hello,
I have a GRRRRR problem.
I have a belgium simcard, provider (mobistar) , but i travel a lot to the Netherlands.
But i dont want to roam , so in other words , if there is no Mobistar avaible , i just want the kaiser to look until Mobistar is avaible if i am back in Belgium.
So in phone settings i select manual network instead of automatic.
This worked perfect on my previous PDA with Mio A701 with WM5.
Now, if i am in another country there is a stupid POPUP , that you can select an avaible other network , i click it away , but then 5 min later its back , the whloe ****ing day!!...
Is there anyway to disable that popup? Running Dutty Rom 7 now , but it was also on htc branded rom.
Also tried disablïng "enable automatic setup" in connection setup, didnt help either.
THNX a lot!!!!!

Start-Settings-Connections-Connections setup-Menu-Uncheck Enable Auto Configuration

I alreadu did that, did you have the same problem as me?
Was it solved by that option?

Anyone know of a solution for this yet? Disabling Auto Configuration didn't work for me either.
I am limited to one network (no roaming in the UK) and have fairly bad reception at home so I have my network selection set to Manual. That way when there is no reception the phone doesn't spend ages searching for a different network before realising that there aren't any. This works well except I get the above mentioned "Select Network" popup coming up every few minutes asking me to choose from one of the other (un)available UK networks.

HTC Mteor GPRS Settings?

I have just got the HTC Mteor but I can't get it to work with GPRS on orange PAYG or Contract. I saw some files on this forum but it won't let me run them on the phone. Can anyone help me set it up please?
sorry to havent answerd your question in other thread...
when this from my post don't works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1244877&postcount=8
just google for the correct settings from your provider!!
or just call them that they say you the settings!!
also my provider has a map on his webpage where i can check what coverage is available in my location!!
also when you see the 3g symbol in top bar you are in a 3g location!
maybe you must have a special contract with your provider to start connections in 3g area?!
just try to set bandwidch to GSM (means only GPRS/EDGE) and test the connection!!
if this works your provider maybe have lock if you haven't a special "3g Contract"
I tried to contact Orange but they didn't have this phone on their list and then they gave me some settings that didn't work?
I don't think this phone works on 3G actually. I know it has GPRS covergae because there is always a letter "G" on the top of the screen. If anyone else has this phone on Orange then can you let me know what setting you are using please.
when your provider supports 3g then your phone have no problems!!!
UMTS is supported by mteor from factory out!!
HSDPA Supports is added with actuell Shipped ROM !!!
when you only have the G icon it means you have only configured (in bandwitch selection gsm) or your network coverage has only GPRS available!!
just check the settings under settings/phone/bandwitch(?!)
there are 2 lines first band: 1. AUto 2. GSM 3. WCDMA (=3g, hsdpa)
2nd is the region... should normaly be on auto...
I just checked the setting that you mentioned and it was set to auto on both options. I tried setting to the 3G and it said that it was not possible to connect when I typed in an internet address on internet explorer.
maybe you have not 3g coverage at your location!! or your contract didn allow 3g connection!! ask your provider!!
when configuring the data connection look to the modem options there you can select different modems .. just try gprs only

2 Problems with my Kaiser, any suggesitons?

Hey guys, I've had my Kaiser for a couple of days now. I've been having a couple of issues with it.
1 - Whenever I turn the phone on, do a soft reset or turn the 'phone' option on or off. I get this "Connection Setup" pop up which states " The operator does not exist in the database. please contact your operator for the connection settings. Conenction setup will redirect you to the Connection screen"
I then "hide" the message which triggers the "connection setting screen"
it also does it sometimes too when it comes in and out of network.
2 - My phone shows that I have signal but it doesnt seem like it's on the network. when people call me it goes to my voicemail and I can't send text messages. I have to eitehr Soft Reset or Turn the Antenna off then on again.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
1/ That prompt is the "setup wizard"
it is the same as you would select -->> settings -->> connections -->> connection setup
choose your country & operator in the drop down list ..etc
and for those like me ( Canada) in which the list doesn't covered ... you have the option to turn that "auto prompt" off by selecting "MENU" when you are on the same selection drop down screen.
~~~
2/ Kaiser comes SIM unlocked already ...
you might have an "non-activated" SIM ?? ( that's how it acts ...signal but no real network name )
you need to borrow someone else's SIM or make sure that the one in the Kaiser is "ACTIVATED" !!!
.. You didn't forget about the SIM ...did ya ??
1. start-settings-connection-connection setup-menu-enable auto configuration. u can disable it if your country and/or operator ar not in that list.
2. it may also be a problem on the network, ie. if ur in a crowded zone and there are no timeslots available on the air interface (mobile - bts), the mobile shows coverage, but cannot use the network, since no "channel" to communicate.
2) - I have seen the same problem with the HTC 3600 (Trinity)... it's the radio, it is not as sensitive as on regular mobile phones (my Nokia seems to be usable just fine in the same spot) - it shows signal but if called i get the "Out of the area of service or closed...". Don't know if it only happens in 3G mode or in GSM mode too.
Heeeei. Ce surpriza. Cati crezi ca suntem cu Kaiser in Romania?
Off topic, non english:
Nu stiu, cati?
Thanks for the reply guys!
I'm also in canada and I have an activated sim on FIDO so it shouldnt be a sim issue.
you're right it might be an network issue... but I never had this issue with my N95.
I'll keep an eye on it and see if it persists.
Thanks Guys!
I wonder how old your sim is with FIDO. when they switched everything over to Rogers my wizard was unreliable getting connections that my p800 was fine with.
A new SIM cleaned everything right up.
Since it just entered Romania (Thursday last week), there should not be very many. On the other hand, since I have an online shop selling things like that, I can confess that I have already sold 6 devices like that myself, so I can imagine there are already some.
One more here.
Diamond 2 refuses to use 3G/HSDPA mode
Hi all,
My brand new Diamond 2 (ROM 1.39.413.0 SVE, radio 3.43.25.19) will never switch to HSDPA/3G mode. I have the "G" symbol in the status area, and not the "H" symbol. I have checked the settings under "Advanced network" and HSDPA/HSUPA is activated. I also tried to inactivate it, soft reset and the re-activate it again but no luck.
I use Tele2 as carrier, and had no problem with this in any previous phone (last phone was a Nokia N82).
Anyone with similar problems? Any ideas what I could try?
i have problem. My D2 only use with 3G network. I like to use GSM but cant switch... always see the "3G" symbol
Well, today it suddenly decided it was time to switch to 3G-mode, after two full days in GSM/GPRS mode. Also, when doing data transfers in 3G-mode and the signal is low (one or two bars), it first gives a stupid error message ("dialing failed") a few times and then takes over a minute to switch to GPRS mode. Definitely disappointing radio performance, compared to for example Nokia and SE.
But I like the rest of the phone, so I guess I will learn to live with this...
how to switch to GSM mode, bro?
i tried to tweak registry, used some software like S'chap or Diamond tweak, but can't...
pls Help me
Start -> settings -> All Settings -> Personal -> phone -> Select your network Type -> GSM.
Its possible the touchy way too via Comm Manager > Phone > Band (at the bottom, German ROM here).
have a nice day, bro )
Try these to switch off 3G
Here's what's there, can you see what is wrong ?
Try this, worked for me
This is a weird coincidence. I have (had!) the exact same problem.
My problem was when I reflashed my galaxy S with stock firmware back again, I lost 3g connection. Using a different sim (which supports only Edge) I was able to get edge connection but with my sim, there was no connection.
Here's what I did. It seems when you select the band selection to "Automatic" it somehow didnt get registered properly even though it showed up on the settings->Wireless and network->Mobile networks->NetworkMode. Even though it read GSM/WCDMA (auto mode) it wasnt actually the case.
So - type *#2263# on your phone to enter the Service Mode's Band Selection.
There see if first row is [1] AUTOMATIC[] OR [1] AUTOMATIC[*]
In my case it wasnt selected ie. there was no *. So I clicked on it and did that selection myself and baam!! H connection. It connected even before I exited from service mode.
I tried a 2g and 3g card after that multiple times and it connects properly to E or H from then on.
Give it a try. I am hoping that your APN is set properly.
Anup
Thanks for the help, but unfortunately this didn't work :-(
1. Automatic was selected.
2. Ive tried to play around with the options there and within the mobile networks.
Nothing works ... this is so frustrating :-(
Why didn't you just call Vodafone and get their help before flashing the phone If you already have another SGS configured same way at the same location with 3G, then chances are there is a hardware problem with the phone.
Anyways, try contacting vodafone, they might still do something about it (despite the fact you have voided their warranty by flashing).
The problem is that I'm not from Czech Republic. The phone was purchased there by a friend of mine and brought to me...
[Q] i9000 stuck on EDGE:2
Hi guys,
I dug out my old i9000 for a US trip I'm doing(because it's unlocked), and had previously installed CM 9.1, and now CM10.1. I landed in Newark and had HSDPA, and now in Tampa I'm stuck on EDGE:2.
My Austrian SIM card in the i9000 also only connects to EDGE, whilst my Austrian S3 connects to H+ (both roaming on AT&T).
The phone still has its IMEI.
The "dialer codes" don't work, so I can't look at what "bands" its using. aka *#4636#, also others won't work.
The same problem with 9.1 and 10.1 CM, I think the problem is elsewhere.
Wi-Fi works well.
Of course, the option for "only use 2g" isn't checked, but the other option to use GSM only or WCDMA or what its called I can't find.
I'm reluctant to give up on this phone, since AT&T only charges me 15$/month for unlimited data, since this version of i9000 isn't recognized as a smartphone on their systems .
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I heard something about a blackhole system wipe, or someone else uploaded an old "qnc" on their phone... alas I'm not in the modding scene, so that means nothing to me .
It's already cost me a day and a half, since I don't have wireless here anywhere but Starbucks ^^. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you
Franz
After a moment, a screen will appear called "Testing". Select the drop-down that says "Phone Information". From there, scroll down to where it should say "WCDMA preferred", and change it to "WCDMA only". Use the back key to get out. It should stay selected even through a reboot.
I copied it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536234
I forced WCDMA only, or what it's called. I cant find the setting in settings. Also, itll jump to "unknown", so i gotta play around with it for awhile until it works. And its broken again if I select "only use 2g" and the unselect it again.
