Cant install Advanced Config on Dutty v2. HELP

Whenever I try to install advancedconfig it states "Installation of AdvancedConfig_v1.1.CAB was unseccessful. Does anyone know why this is happening or a solution"

it worked fine for me. are you using the latest version of advanced config?

Try to download the cab again (from duttys cabs) and install it to the device not the storage card, hope that helps. I have 1.1 installed on mine and it installed fine.

doesnt work
Tried redownloading and the same thing. The message pops up before it gives you the chance to pick were to store it.
Im also having the same issue on Arcsoft MMS Composer v4.0.31.28.
Both were downloaded from Dutty's FTP server

I know this may sound stupid but have you soft reseted the phone yet and then tried to install it from a fresh boot.

As someone once told me...never underestimate the power of stupidity.

yes I tried the soft reset. I soft reset at least once a day.

any ideas out there???

It should just install but try this, soft reset before you try attempting to install the cab.
Install sdckerts.cab in my cab collections
Soft reset
Install advance config
or try installing both versions of advance config to see if one installs

Hey Dutty,
First off thanks for your hard work on these roms. I tried installing sdckerts.cab and get the same message. Any other suggestions. Im now using your v3 test rom.

My Phone is Similar
It installs it, but doesnt save anything i do, just says "unable to apply changes" i have a focus flash btw

Removing Ext ROM data

Hi guys
I upgraded my XDA II a long time ago from 2003 to WM5, and all was fine, however any time I put a new version on 6.1, I still get the old programs installed from a previous version. I tried "downgrading" back to 2003 and there it works fine, however any time I install a 6.1 ROM, the old apps (and their error messages) keep coming back.
Is there a way that I can COMPLETELY wipe my Himalaya device and then install a 6.1 ROM from fresh?

do you HARD RESET, clear storage?, i mean the steps where you set it to NO, YES, YES? hard reset for 2006/2005 is different from 2003.

Thanks for the fast reply... The answer to that part is NO... And that's because the camera button on my XDA is broken and so am unable to do that key sequence...
Any other ways to do the hard reset (with an application or such like)

thats highly unlikely... the new roms(wm6.x) arent hard resetted by the usual manner the old ones were... for wm6.x the whole no, yes, yes routine is necessary... unless maybe some1 builds a rom that isnt hard reset persistent(thats wht they write with these roms n i think thats why these roms dont get cleared with the old hard reset).

... So if I understand you correctly, I DO need to run the NO, YES, YES routine to clear out all the other rubbish on my system... But if I can't do the keystrokes, can anyone think of a way that I can emulate this...

My understanding is that there is no work around for this. How is the button broken? Is the whole button not there? or is the button there but the internal workings are broken?

Quick Question... hard reset & hardSPL

iv just hard reset my phone to clear off all the programs & rubbish id accumulated over the last month of having my phone. When i hard reset it, will i have cleared hardSPL etc, or am i alright just flashing duttys rom again straight away?

Everytime I´ve made a hard reset with a custom rom it has stayed there and the HardSPL as well. If I´m not mistaken you will not go back to stock rom because you´ve overwrtitten it with the custom rom and thefore the custom rom will boot up again BUT with all settings, installed programs and other changes you´ve made cleared. So if you had Duttys rom and made a hard reset you will still have Duttys rom.

I reset the device by going into settings, system and then clear data and afaik it has reset it to the HTF default, cant see any mention of duttys ROM. Also noticed the phone to be much much slower.
is it likely to be the HTC ROM or duttys ROM that im currently left with?

hardspl stays... thats why its called hardspl. it resists hard resets.

Can't open email or create new

ok I have searched for an answer,but could not find any solution.
I am running the Hyperdragon III rom jan 13th.
I just noticed today i can not open any email or create a new email it just does nothing. your help please. also i had a couple backups one from the other day and the other from last week. with both i still have the problem. I would perfer not to HR and have to reinstall.

I did, and it had the same effect - couldn't open or create email. There is talk of a solution at the end of that thread, but I'm impatient - I did a hard reset already.

ya i did install that one. did a hard reset and everything is good now. but sucks i had reinstall everything.

You need to post this on the Hyperdragon thread, as I remember, SJ has been having email trouble with his new roms. It is a Hyperdragon, not a Kaiser problem.
As I remember, a work around was proposed. Have you even read back in the thread?

The fix was posted in PDA thread and i put it in .cab without testing, anyway it fixes the multiple sms issue, where it only marks the latest message in the thread as read, well 12hrs later we all find out it breaks email, hard-reset neede, all part of the game we play

if this cab/dll is replaced with original one does it fix the email? I trying to avoid hard reset but need e-mail back.

No it won't, the way i tryed was by renaming htmlnote.dll to htmlnote.dllold in the Windows dir with total commander as when you reboot this will invoke the ROM to replace original ROM file, no sucess it must nock something else out....

A problem with touch x 6.11

i installed everything according to the tutorial and everything that ivolves calling works just fine...but my internet stuff won´t work, doesn´t matter if i put all the data in manually or let them send my settings to me, it just doesn´t work!
I´ve got a dutch Xperia and my provider is Vodafone NL

Not sure what the problem is, but you can better reinstall the ROM again

As in, reinstall the custom ROM or the original....cause i didn't know you could back-up your original rom before it was to late -_-'

try installing connection setup cab from itje's ROM threads and soft reset. its there as add ons
