THANK YOU ALL!!!

All is not well....
I am glad that i can at least get to the website now but when I go to play one of the videos it says the clip is not playable.
I click on the clip... tell it to download the file and play after opening... it says there is already a file do you want to replace it, and i say yes... real player starts up and shows it is connecting and then it comes up with the error that the clip is not playable.
I already have realplayer set up to lauch medianet also.
Help a noob out again please.

anybody? anything? i really want to watch something at my boring job. PLEASE.

also when i try to play any kind of streaming audio it says that it can't find the server. Are you all are just going to turn your backs on me ?

thanks mate!i can use for any call now!but, when i use for tcpmp and coreplayer still didn't have any sound!do i need to sitting something for listen a music and mp4 video!help please!
Sorry, I do not know why you are struggling with TCMP, I am only using WMP at the moment. Have a search on the site I'm sure someone must have looked at this kind of problem before.

Problem with Orb streaming

I have T-Mobile with the Data plan proxy. Problem is when I try to stream from my PC, Core Player 1.2 pops up (my default) and the connecting to MODEM bubble comes up instead of DATA. PIE works fine for the internet, but my streaming from Orb or m.youtube.com doesn't. It does the same thing with WMP. It tries to connect to MODEM, and then it hangs for a few minutes, and says it can't connect.
Isn't it supposed to connect to T-Mo Data for streaming? It worked flawlessly on my Dash and my Cavalier. I can't figure this out. Anyone have the settings so I can stream?

Look for a cab called RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab, or PM me with your email and I will send it.
I'm having problems with Orb also. I don't even know which player to use. I'm using Dutty's 6.1 rom, installed coreplayer tcmp and streaming and non seem to work? Only WMP seems tp play the files and even then its sooo choppy its unbelievable.
Did you change TCPMP's defalut files that it plays?
Thanks pyro, but it's still trying to get online using wifi? I'm using the Data connection. It keeps trying to connect to modem when CorePlayer comes up. Am I missing some settings?
As far a a good player goes, use CorePlayer 1.2, it has Qtv and works great.

I've been trying to get orb to work with CorePlayer 1.2 but all that happens is the program locks for about 10 mins and then it returns the error that WMV9 is not supported and that there is an audio codec error. Then the programs shuts down. Anybody have similar issues? Any known remedies. Also in the orb stream options i choose to transcode to Windows media is this correct or shall i use something else?
TIA

I second that. I had to go back to TCPMP.
TCMP wasnt working for me either wat setup did you use?
tcpmp works fine for streaming... you just have to go into the file associations page and check asf, avi, http, etc...
in orb, you'll need to go into settings->streaming and make sure you are using windows media. by default, orb uses flash.
w/ my 3ghz p4, the picture quality is really good even @ 80kbps ( what I use with Edge for non-buffering video )
sdp picture quality is pretty bad. lol 'n right now, my kaiser w/ htc's streaming app doesn't even connect w/ the new AT&T rom.
Just wondering if you've played around with the buffering option, cause i cant get it to work over wifi. It plays but is soo choppy its un watchable
It still tries to connect over the tmodem connection. IDK if it is supposed to do that. I even hard reset. Does anyone know what settings to use? I have the 5.99 data plan. For internet it still uses the data connection, WTF?
I have streaming media cab, checked all file associations in coreplayer, made sure that orb is streaming in WMV. IDK, maybe we can't stream on data connection on the Tilt? Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I did all of the above, and it still doesn't work.

Kimona users?

Is anyone using it? I just heard about it last thursday. I am using the free version because the only services I need to use are Orb and Youtube. It has some connection issues. Has anyone else experienced this?
Do you mean Kinoma? What are you talking about?

I have the full version, which is awesome. I use it on my mega commute to and from work. The connection issues always seem to happen in the same spots every day. I imagine it has to do with the area you're in. And it's not just youtube or orb. It happens with internet radio and the like.

What's it like for playing WMV video from storage? I'm looking for a better way than Windows Pocket Media Player as I don't like the screen tearing I get at over 15 fps.
Not trying to bring back such an old thread, but I don't want to start a new one since this is already here.
I've been using Kinoma the past week or so and I absolutely LOVE it. I'm using the free version and my connection is STELLAR. I can stream the 128K streams without any bufferring issues 90% of the time, and I never have any issues with the 96k streams. I'm going to purchase the full version so I can get my old Radio stations back and also get access to Live TV and what-not. There's literally thousands of radio stations on Kinoma. I highly reccomend it.

Plus the full version also plays podcasts. No more having to d/l six different media players just to enjoy all your media and online media,
$29.99 is a lot steeper than free, but when you think of what you spent on software for your PC, it is more in line.
I really like also.
Does it utilise the TyTN II's hardware acceleration yet?
I realise that it's pretty good at playing a multitude of media types/sources but does it use the latent graphics acceleration capabilities of the MSM7200 chip in my TyTN II yet? I believe the upcoming Coreplayer 2.0 is planned to do this (even though the current version doesn't). I'm using TCPMP at the moment which limps along with DivX video in the mean time and have no need to play other additional media types.

They do offer TrialPay. I signed up for a RealNetworks (yuk) trial, and got it for free. Canceled the trial the next day.
ASX Support?
I'm using Freeplay. I checked the Kinoma Blog and it says the either Play or Freeplay can handle .asx playlist. I tried Freeplay and .asx playlist did not. I was presented with an "unsupported format" error. Has anyone gotten .asx playlist to work on Play or Freeplay? I need this feature for MS Voice Command to work with the player. VC produces .asx playlists.
Yeah, I agree, Kinoma Freeplay is amazing. They have ALL the episodes of MacGyver! Suddenly I find myself not doing any homework during my free periods. As for the connection issues, I don't have any problems at school, but I can't really even use it at home because of my bad data connection. And as for the hardware acceleration, i was wondering that myself. The actual program menus are animated and run really smooth, so maybe. Also, no screen tearing. Anyway, those are just my thoughts.
Dave
The screen transitions are nearly perfect. I'm going to purchase the full version tomorrow I think. I'll write up my impressions after I use it for a few days.
have it
I have a full version, I like it a lot and i use it as main player, only thing i dont like is even if u buy the full version you still need a vip subscription to use a lot of services! I dont like buying the same app over and over again

Streaming Music from Computer to Phone

So back in high school I used setup a simple HTTP server that allowed me to browse my music on the schools computers and play it there through VLC player. I figure since I have 160GB of music (way more than I can fit on my phone) I could probably do the same thing, but the problem I'm facing is what app would I use to browse the music?
Any ideas on how I could do this? Over the 3G network it should be ok, at least no worse than pandora and I would have access to all of my music.
Have a look at orb.. you can set it up to stream your entire media library to your device (even videos). It will auto-encode to a supported format and adapt the bit rate to your network speed. It's pretty sexual.

go get GMote, best app I've seen yet, works over wifi and 3G/Edge.
Another one for gmote.
Yet another vote for gmote here.
Gmote does not auto convert and will not play .avi. I use it exclusively for music, but I have never been able to get the video to play on my phone.

I saw that. I was responding to the post about Orb. My music works flawlessly on gmote whether I am using wifi or 3g. I definitely give it 3 thumbs up.

[Q] Stream video from home computer?

So, Ive looked around the internet, and this forum, and cant seem to find an easy way to stream video from my home computer to my phone. I can use gmote when Im at home, and thats neat and all, but it would be nice to not have to download everything to my phone. I know Iphone has a few apps for that, are there any decent ones for android?
Thanks in advance for the help!!

Are you talking about a different app you could you at home over wifi? Or remotely over 3G? I use Allshare at home and it works well.
Oh sorry, I mean when Im out and about over 3g or wifi from another source. Ive used allshare and Gmote and they both work wonderfully when Im home. But as for when Im out and about, I havent heard of anything reliable.
Why not give Winamp Remote a try? I used to use that on my old iPhone 3G. You run a server-app on your PC, select which directories to share (video/audio), and access these directories from your phone via a login that you setup. On the iP3G, access was established through a normal browser.
Interesting. I tried something like that today, by using a different server type program and a certain video player, but it gave me a lot of errors and the videos had a lot of trouble playing (well, sound but no video, at the most). Not just HD movies either, movies that play just fine from my SD card wouldnt play (just to test it out). I wonder if this program would have those same problems? It sounds almost identical is why I say
Well, audio worked for me without a hitch. The UI was alright, and synchronicity was superb. Video worked well for me too, but I must admit that I didn't use this feature so much because iPhones were/are really finicky with resolutions and file-types. I was forced to pre-convert every video I intended to stream beforehand to an appropriate format and reso', and store two copies of everything on my HDisk: the original high-quality copy for desktop-viewing, and another for iPhone streaming... but that's just Crapple, right? Android is much more flexible when it comes to video-containers (among other things), so I see no potential problems for you—especially if you're using videos that play back fine on stock if stored locally (on your phone). Why don't you give Winamp Remote a shot, and report your findings...? It shouldn't take more than fifteen minutes to setup.
That actually makes perfect sense, well, I think Im going to call it a night tonight. but by thursday or friday I will get on that and report my findings!! thank you very much for the help and I will get back to you as soon as I get the chance. Oh college life lol.
Sure man, no proll'em. I hear you
Try using a program called orb. Works wonders for me!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897
Dude, Orb is Winamp Remote! Hahaha...
"Vlc stream & convert “from the market (freeware is doing the job - but the $4 are worth it for the Pro version)
Quality wise is the best.
You need to do some work on your router at home to forward 2 ports.
This one is the best so far.
