OziExplorerCE (GPS soft) on s730 - HTC Wings

According the producer: "WM6 Standard (for phones with small non-touch screens is not supported)".
Can somebody check please if it (f.e. the trial version) works with FakeCursor?
(I am not owner of s730)
Thanks!

HTCS730 with GPS Navigon MN6.5

Hy Guys,
I used a GPS Software for Smartphone name NAVIGON Mob. Nav. 6.5 on my HTC S620 => it works without problems
This GPS Software is ok with HTC S710 but not yet with S730 (as this device is brand new)..
I've tryed the combination (HTCS730 - MN 6.5) : it works for fast research (proximities like gas pump or restaurant) but its goes down with classical researchs (too long) => the program stop !
My problem is with memory on this device HTC S730
I've maximum 17 000 to 18 000 Kb free at the best moments.. and I've installed no other software..
I've done a advanced test of my RAM thats shows that some files (hidden files) took much memory.. (like video telephony, listening ports) but I don't want to use it.. (I would prefer to hide them in order to make my GPS soft work )
So who can tell me how to dismantle some WM6 files/process in order to win some KB for my GPS ?
Thanks in advance for your help

The install of Asian Fonts blocks Hard Buttons!

Hello,
Due to the fact my that my loved Trinity was stolen two weeks ago, I had to choose a new device.
Though I did not fancy the 4GB memory limitation and the weak battery I made it for the Diamond and it does satisfy my needs except for two points:
1) VoIP issues as everybody knows. (I may start a separate thread for this issue later)
2) an Asian Fonts issue
Unlike for all PDA I have been using so far, when I install Asian Fonts support on my new Diamond, the hard buttons and the directional pad won't work anymore...
No matter I install CE Star, (including a version releases specially to the Diamond) or other CJK support packs, the same issue occurs over and over again. As soon as I uninstall the Asian Fonts, the hard buttons start to work again...
Has anyone here managed to install Asian Fonts support on Diamond without having hard button issues? If so which pack was that?
Thanks in advance for any idea or solutions that never occured on neither Wizard nor Trinity...

Updating TomTom

Does anyone know how I can update my TomTom software (latest maps, speed cameras) for my Kaiser?
goto the TomTom website and you will find all the info you will need....
I can't seem to find anything about updating a Kaiser on the TomTom website.

TOMTOM is an application. To update, you buy the software and the maps, they send it to you on a disk or SD card and you load it into your phone.
The problem seems to be that there are no more recent maps (and software) since TomTom doesn't know if they want to continue or not to provide "PDA" updates, except for some OEM deals like HTC. Did you read this long thread ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401679
TomTom only officially sell TomTom 6 for Windows Mobiles devices. With this you are limited to version 6.x maps. TomTom have updated the software to version 7 - latest is 7.910(9185) - however this isn't commercially available but is packaged by some carriers into their ROMs for two HTC devices; the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro. Only these two devices are officially supported by TomTom for Navigator 7, both these devices are VGA as well. If you go to TomTom's MapShop website and select 'NAVIGATOR 7' as your version you are then prompted with a list of different carriers devices - only HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro varients are listed.
What has happened since is Navigator 7 has been ripped from these devices (and TomTom's website) and backward engineered to work on other devices (VGA & QVGA) and then repackaged into installable .cab files (check the long thread in the previous reply for links to the .cabs, there are several floating around). This will get you the actual TomTom Navigator 7 application installed, however it is pretty useless without a map and the only 'official' way to get a map is via the TomTom Home application. Unfortunately this is where it all falls down as there is no legal way to download a map or activate it for your 'unsupported' device. A bit of a chicken-and-egg situation...
Without detailing anything or posting links there are other sites that have 'advice' and downloads to allow you to install the latest maps to your Kaiser running the latest Navigator. Latest maps are version 8.15, however there are sub-versions that are not compatible with all devices or software versions.
Andy
That sounds about right.
Although I'd add that TomTom won't tell you that this is what they've done. Here's my story.
I went to the US recently on business and needed to drive, so I bought a copy of TomTom's US map online. After a lot of idiotic argy-bargy and toing and froing with their support department, it emerged that TomTom Navigator 6 (the latest version that works in WinMob smartphones as opposed to their own devices) is supported by the map. Nowhere on the site was this made clear. Yet, as a registered, legitimate user, TomTom's systems know I have Nav 6 running on a PDA.
It also appears that tech support for Nav 6 is negligible (although I suspect from the backwash I picked up from other users, this isn't a software version problem but a systemic problem), as the company is not developing the WinMob version any further - probably down to the cost of supporting users as a result of it's awful support department...
Cutting it short, I eventually extracted both an admission that all the above was the case and a refund, but it was painful and took a fortnight, by which time I was in the US, without a map...

Review for GPS software on Fuze/TP

Hello everyone. I've searched through the forums, and have found nothing of this sort. (Please scroll down and see the question I have asked if you want to skip all this bull crap and intro)
What I'm planning to do is write a review of all the GPS software available for the Fuze/TP and compare its performance to each other and to that of a dedicated Magellan GPS.
This will give people an idea of what GPS software for their phone to buy (if any) if they do wish to have one
I'm going to write this review on a the Fuze flashed with a ROM (I will let you know which ROM later) and I will make sure that this doesn't have any GPS tweaks. So it is whatever you get from a Fuze flashed with a ROM.
Topics that will be covered:
-Ease of use
-Accuracy and precision of pin pointing the location on the map
-Lag time
-Direction giving
-And many others.
Question for you guys: Other than TomTom Navigator, which other mobile GPS software are available? I know there is a Garmin and a Magellan, but I don't know the name/latest version. I have the TomTom and I have enough information to write a review on it. I just need more GPSes
thanks
There is AmazeGPS, GarminXT, ALK CoPilot Live 7 (beta), Destinator 6, Route 66, iGuidance, OnCourse Navigator 6.0, Pharos Ostia.
The only ones I have used on my fuze though are Route 66 & TomTom.

Copilot 7

Any one know if Copilot 7 for the Touch Pro2 runs on the Touch Diamond2 correctly.
I know there is a Diamond2 special edition, I ask this question because the Diamond2 special edition is not supplied with the Copilot Central Software but the Touch Pro2 is
I Have installed my old Co-Pilot 7 from my Orbit 2 and it does seem to work ok. I had a slight problem installing it just having the maps on the SD card but then I used the DVD install to copy the maps to the device and it is working ok (bear in mind not tested it on a major journey as yet)
It displays using the full screen.
Hope that helps
Thanks for the reply I think I will go ahead with Touch Pro 2 software as the screen resolution is about the same. I have finally given up on TomTom 7 it won't let me use the maps I purchased from Tomtom for my Touch Cruise.
I've got CoPilot 7 on my TD2 and its fine - contact CoPilot support to get the 480x800 res update (which they developed for the Touch HD).
Does that res update sort the aspect ratio? My version of CoPilot fills the whole screen, but all the button images the map ar stretched out. The Red dot that shows you where you are on the map is an oval. Does this version fix that?

Yes it does - that was my problem too until this update
I downloaded the latest version and used my current product key. Contact Alk support for the link to the new version.
I did have to delete two files to allow me to enter the product key without errors though. One called CPL7.DAT (in Device/Windows) and then PK.TXT file in \StorageCard\CoPilot\Save

I second that comment about the link in this thread. ALK may go spare
For the record, i had the CoPilot 7 for Touch Diamond, that failed to run properly on the Diamond2. ALK sent me the link to the HD version on their tech support site, with Europe maps, now its running fine on the TD2.

All removed
I'd be surprised if it were an issue. It only appeared to be UK maps plus your licence key dictates what you're able to use anyway.
Hi,
Anybody got any pictures of co pilot running please?
Is there a Speed indicator on the screen while navigating?

Don't have any running pictures, but you won't see much different from the screen shots on the ALK website.
Yes there is a speed indicator. You display a whole range of different things (only one at a time however) including speed indicator while navigating. Incidently its seems very accurate (or at least it matched my car's speedo!).
I have the original/full version. With the Diamond version the only difference is that you don't get a CD/Copilot Central - the app to control and configure from your PC.
If you are going to be running on the TD2, then I personally would stick with the full version. The Diamond version was only there as TD1 did not have a MicroSD card. Don't forget to use the ALK support website (look up "How do I Re-create my SD card").

Cheers buddy have placed my order, had to many problems with tomtom.
Thanks again.
hi,
i had copilot7 trial version(7.8.0.319) supplied with my diamond2 French rom,
but traffic info seems not be available(i am in france) is it the same for you?
Is the 7.8.0.319 version the one supplied by ALK support ?
for those with traffic via gprs, is it good, accurate (tomtom like)
it's a pity if it's not activate in the trial because it's number 2 in my decision's criteria to buy or not that one.
Edit: and nothing about the option price for traffic info, on ALk website : is it free when copilot7 is activated or an annual fee?
thanks regards
Anybody notice the Lag at roundabouts. It takes about 2 seconds once I have exited a roundabout for copilot to fix on the road I have taken. The speed indicator is not real time as it was on my td1 using tt7. All of these problems were present on tt7. I didnt think they would be present on copilot thats why I purchased it. There is defiantly a lag or a os problem on the td2 as I was not getting any problems on td1 it was all real time. I am getting really frustrated now, wish I hadn't jumped boat in getting the td2, regret selling the td1.
I guess nobody has lag?
Alk support haven't repiled back.
I also tried the newer version of copilot on the htc website but the lag is still there.
