Whats up guys, the other day i was searching this forum and I found an application that allowed you to set different sms notifications for different senders as well as email and a few other things and now I cannot find it for the life of me, anybody have the link to that thread? thanks
I've never heard of this but would be really cool to have on my Touch Pro, what device did you see it on before?

It wasn't an app, it was just an idea that someone came up. But it was never done. It was just an idea of development Although I don't think it's useful, but would love to see how they pull it out.
Different notifications TO YOU you mean?
What is the point?
Except if you mean auto reply to them (SMS or EMail) based on who they are.
CommManagerPro (you'll find it in XDA Devs) is adding this functionality in the next version (among other things).
Try Ringo. Its a WinMo software that enables you to set separate ringtones and SMS tones for each separate contact. The user interface is very very simple, it is a great application to have and use. Either try searching for it Google, or you might be able to find it on this forum using search.

No I meant like how you have custom ringtones for your contacts, I could have sworn I saw a thread with an app that allowed you to set custom SMS tones for your contacts instead of just one default SMS sound, but the other guy said it was just a concept for an application, :-(
Interesting idea.

When IN messaging.... Settings - Select ringtone - Silent
that is indeed the easiest way to turn it off
i'm the total opposite, i'll like the phone to automatically READ me the SMS that i just received (with out touching any buttons)
i know that this can be done if you hit the volume up and if you have google voice installed
I want the notification on a new message to have a ringtone,
but no ringtone notification when i send an sms and receive a delivery report.
I still want to receive the delivery report, but seeing the icon in the notification bar is enough for me.
Did you ever find a solution for this? Seems to be something Android enabled. I moved from the Desire to the Desire HD. This wasn't a problem on the Desire, but is really bugging me on the Desire HD!
Did anyone found solution for this? How to change delivery report tone? Or does anyone know in which folder is that setting or that tones?
Bump! Isn't this obviously the most annoying "feature" on the phone?
Yea guys this is really annoying! Need a fix for it... Anyone??
I have this same issue. Any answers/solutions?
I need delivery reports on, but I'd like to have'em without sound!
When sending multiple sms the repeating notification is really annoying.
Old thread is old I know, but I prefer to bump this one than to create a new one... Does anyone know how to do this, any system file that can be modified or anything like that?
Also looking for a solution to this. Using Galaxy S3, but exact same situation.

Trouble with Xperiment 3.5 on my Sony Xperia T

hello,
I have a strange bug.
I put my phone on mute, but when I receive text message i still hear the sound.
It's like if the text message were on the same sound as the "Alarms"... because on my sound setting all sound are off except the alarms...

I haven't noticed such an issue.
Btw, it should be better to post such a request in the ExperimenT 3.5 thread.

[Q] Ascending ringtone fix/mod?

Hi,
Does anybody know how to fix the awful ascending ringtone in the moto g5 plus? I have missed many calls and messages because of this. I am okay to flash a zip file if needed. Please provide a fix.
Disabling it in settings seems to do the trick pretty well...
Here is the zip to disable it.i looked in my phone and there is no option.

Its not in the settings of a lot of phones.
Don't ask me why its not an option. I asked Motorola and they couldn't come up with any reson other than "its the way the phone software was written"
I use the Disable Increasing Ring App which works OK but unfortunately boosts the sound not only for the ring tone but also for every notification I get (email/WhatsApp/Facebook etc) . Shame cos otherwise its a good app.

I thought I missed the option in the settings but apparently it just isn't there. It's a shame almost every other phone has that option under Settings>Sound

Text Message Feature

Im asking here because I don't think many people follow the themes and app section. Whenever you get a message you'll get a notification in the panel where it says, "mark as read" or "reply". I'll reply expecting the message to disappear, but the notification remains on the panel. As of right now I'm using Havoc ROM (in case you're wondering). The question isn't specific to a ROM, but a general question. I've checked the head up feature through settings, but can't find anything or any checkbox that would answer my question. Has anyone ever cone across a SMS app that will allow you to reply from the notification panel then the message notification disappears?

All questions belong to q&a, so if you would have posted it in themes & apps, you would be moved here.
