Bluetooth Question - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have a question regarding bluetooth.
I have an sony HBH-DS980 that works great for music playback on my tytn ii.
The problem i have with it is that when the music is playing and a receive a phone call it notifies me and i answer the call. After the call is over the bluetooth link seems to drop and will no reconnect untill i turn the headset off and on.
Is there a way to make the headset go back to music playing and not drop link automatically?

Not having experience of this unit this may be down to the individual headset and I hope some others will come in with experience of this.
Does the headset support both Headset and Wireless Stereo profile?
If it does not, the function may not be supported. I use a Promate PM-2600 and it supports both and when I have selected Wireless Stereo (this has to be done manually!) it works without problem when answering a call and passing back to music or video play.
Hope someone with information on this particular unit gets back to you.

Hi,
I own a Sony HBH-DS980 too, and experiencing the same problem Linxus40's having, but on my 8925 Tilt, of which is essentially the same phone as Linxus40's HTC Tynii .
It's very frustrating having to reboot the HBH-DS980 & re-press the play button to re-establish the bt connection after completion of every incoming call. It's s my understanding that the Sony HBH-DS980 supports both wireless headset & the wireless stereo profile, as I've got no problem placing & receiving unlimited bt calls without disconnection when I'm not listening to music. This said, I find the HBH-DS980's bt audio 'sound quality' fantastic thru the 8925 Tilt.
btw: I've got PocketMusic 5 and PocketPlayer 3.51 on my Tilt, but experience significantly better sound (audio quality) when my music is played via PocketMusic compared to PocketPlayer. Curious if any body else here notices this too.
Ok, any other Sony HBH-DS908 bluetooth headset owners experiencing the dropped bluetooth connection problem Linuxus40 and I are experiencing? Any advice on how the problem can be corrected?
Thanks in advance.

I'm facing the same issue as well! Tried numerous hard resets and fixes you would have thought imaginable! Unfortunately the problem is still existent and it is freaking irritating when you have to press the play button to repair the headset. Worst still - when the music starts playing through the speaker after a call, everyone starts to look at you like you are some moron.
I do really hope there is a way to resolve the problem. Any new fixes i can try???
Senior members? Any help?

I have this exact same problem on my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS220.
The bluetooth will disconnect after hanging up a phone call. I don't press anything on the headset, I wait for the other person to hang up. When it hangs up, it immediately disconnects the bluetooth headset.
Annoying!

Probably a problem with the bluetooth stack then. The stack is already known to be very buggy and have problems with lots of Bluetooth devices. Luckily, unlike the graphics card, it looks like HTC will be releasing a fixed Bluetooth stack at some point in the future. In the mean time, you are probably out of luck.

Bluetooth connection problem also with Tilt
I have a Plantronics 510 BT earpiece that for no discernible reason is connected one minute and gone the next too. I haven't been able to determine any combination of actions, such as ending a call as the culprit. I always have to make the connection manually between the earpiece and the Tilt also - it never links automatically when I turn the earpiece on like it did with my Treo 650. I've had this Tilt for 3 days and this is probably going to be a show stopper and make me return it to at&t before the eval period in spite of everything else good about the phone. I also have a Plantronics Pulsar 590 stereo headset that I haven't experimented enough with yet to know if the connection is as flaky. But the bottom line is - I'll be damned if I'm going to try to fiddle with establishing a connection and all the steps it can take while I'm driving down the road!

HTC CLUB
I FOUND THIS FILE AT HTC CLUB... Dont know if it will fix your problem or not .. but its for some BLUETOOTH BUG ... This File is For TYTN2...

**HELP!** Problem with SE DS980 Music Streaming with TyTN II

Hi guys,
I have experienced a nagging issue with my SonyEricsson DS980 bluetooth headset.
Here goes: Cyberon Voice Command, A2DP and AVRCP works flawlessly but once a call is initiated, thereafter during or after the call, the DS980 disconnects itself. I have to manually connect the bluetooth headset to the TyTN II again to re-establish the music streaming (A2DP).
I have done several hard resets and also tried A2DPfix, Kaiser Tweak (Changing bluetooth quality to low) and also Jetware Bluetooth Extension with the supposed plugins, but to no avail...
Can someone help?
Can any registry hack / software help?
I have tried some tweaking with the BitPool and MaxSupportedBitPool but still din't work for me.

let's move this problem to one thread

I also have a DS980 BT and same **** happens with me.
Last time my HTC music played crashed and all I could do was a soft reset Have tried different settings with no success.
If I'm not using the player then DS980 seems to disconnect after a call, at least the BT icon is gone.
However, when next call is received/initialized BT icon appears again and headset is connected.
Don't remember if it's still there after second call though.
Same problems I have too...
But my DS980 performs intermittently. Sometimes when a call comes in during playback, it flawlessly switches to the phone call, and then switches back to music after the call ends... However, this only lasts for a little while, and then it reverts back to the usual fault (headset disconnecting after a call and music plays through the device's speakers).
Sounds really silly... wonder what is causing it...
Please, is there someone here that can help us out? Must be some Bluetooth tweak that allows the device to rediscover the headset after a call....

Having Bluetooth "Handsfree" and A2DP connected at same time causing severe skipping

Having Bluetooth "Handsfree" and A2DP connected at same time causing severe skipping
Hi....I know there are a lot of posts regarding skipping while playing MP3s over A2DP. My problem is perhaps a little bit different because I've narrowed my problem down to the handsfree bluetooth service.
Here's my situation with my unlocked HTC TyTN II using the stock HTC ROM and with no registiry modifications (bitpool, etc)
If I have only A2DP connected and streaming music to an external bluetooth receiver the MP3 playback is flawless. It sounds fantastic. I've tried Windows Media Player, PocketMusic, and PocketPlayer and they all work just great.
However, when I turn on my handsfree headset (which is a separate device from my A2DP receiver) and allow it to connect to my TyTN II, extreme stuttering immediately occurs through the A2DP music stream. When I shut off my handsfree headset the stuttering stops and the music stream returns to its usual fantastic sound. The problem can be replicated also by leaving the handsfree headset powered ON and simply enabling handsfree service on the HTC TyTN II to cause the stuttering to begin. The stuttering stops immediately when handsfree service is subsequently disabled.
Anyone else out their experience this? Any suggestions? For the time being I have to resort to disabling handsfree when streaming music to my A2DP bluetooth receiver.
Skipping/Cutting out/Speeding Up/Slowing down
Not much to add other than 'Me Too!' and thanks for tracking this down since i thought i was going nuts since I've had a couple of times where i thought i had it resolved only for it to crop up again.
Are you also experiencing your A2DP audio speeding up and slowing down along with the audio cutting out? since to me that is the most bizarre of all of the audio freakery going on.
I found my Logitech handsfree less likely to cause cut outs when on than my Jawbone does. but neither were trouble free.
Just an update for those that may experience the same problem as me. I've noticed that sometimes I have perfect audio even though I am connected to my handsfree car system while streaming music via A2DP. So this leads me to believe that bitpool settings and such are not the issue...since the perfect audio can occur with the default settings. I have also heard in other threads that flashing a new radio may help...but haven't gone to that measure yet.
What I have been able to determine is that this horrible skipping/stuttering occurs when my phone is changing cell phone towers.
That is, if
1) Streaming audio over bluetooth via A2DP
AND
2) Tytn II also connected to a handsfree device
then A2DP skips horribly when the phone needs to switch cell towers.
I have confirmed this by using the program PhoneAlarm to log the cell phone towers my phone is connected to. My A2DP stuttering/skipping problem coincides with every change in cell phone tower.
Now having said all this there is still one other factor that plays into it that I haven't quite figured out. If I soft reset my device and then immediately connect to my car and A2DP stereo then I do not get the stuttering problem when changing cell phone towers. However if I spend the day using the device, active-syncing and such at work, then on the drive home I will ALWAYS get the stuttering during every cell phone tower hand-over.
Frustrating. Anyway...hopefully I'll eventually figure out the last piece of the puzzle. I would rather not have to soft reset every time I get in my car just so that I can get good audio.

I do recall getting this behaviour when using Windows Media player...but I have started using the new Pocket Player and have since never experienced the audio slow down problem.
I found a work-around that works for me. It's posted here:

I seem to have related but a different problem with skipping.
I have both Sony and goldlantern BT headphones which i tried (stereo profile).
Both severely skip audio when located on the left side of my belt. Silly but the reception/skipping problems improves a GREAT deal when i move it to the right side. It works flawlessly inside of the building where i have no phone signal but outside -- it skips horribly, even worse after 6.1rom upgrade.
Can anyone confirm that the BT signal going through the body worsens skipping? If so, I assume the signal strength/BT/wireless channel may be at fault, not the tower switching as for me, it happens even when I stay stationary.
Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
TILT - R2 VEGA WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19209 (Build 19209.1.0.2) ROM
I think part of the problem can be the A2DP device as well. I had a pair ofr HT 820 older bluetooth headsets with A2DP that were skipping and annoying. I went out and bought some s9s and the problem went away. I figured just for a test I would try the HT820 out again, still skipping. So for me it was not the phone but the A2DP device.

i thought that too but i have two different headsets from two different manufacturers, both are skipping the same...
A2DP requires a lot of the bandwidth Bluetooth can provide. Having a 2nd connection open simply exceeds what the Bluetooth chip can handle, no surprise in that. If the BT headset keeps the connection open it's very likely to happen.

what do you mean by a SECOND CONNECTION?
i have 2 different headsets because i thought that i have a poor headset, but both work similarly bad, which makes me think it is the tilt, not the headphones. i do not have 2 connections, never has it and not even sure if it is possible....
Lowering of bitrate did not help at all.....
Anyone have experienced these problems? anyone is using BT headset besides motorola s9?
On mine it does it when it picks up a wi-fi hotspot. When I'm driving the wi-fi is on when the screen is and whenever I pass a hot spot it drops out. Turning the wi-fi off solved it. Don't know if it does it with cell towers.

The thread was initially about skipping when BOTH an A2DP stereo headset AND a BT handsfree were connected at the same time, as the title shows. I was commenting on that.
Other than this, when I want to listen to music I can leave the Kaiser in my room and walk around in my entire flat with the headphones on without skipping (around 10-15m straight line, with some walls).
However, Wifi must not be active and communicating, otherwise either / both of them will drop. If I'm using Wifi and start streaming audio via A2DP, the wifi will slow down a lot and sometimes disconnect. In the same way if Wifi is communicating the audio will skip. If both of them are active but one is idle everything's fine. But that's also normal as both share the same frequencies and will step on each other. When usage is low it's not noticeable but when both are using a lot of bandwidth then they will disturb each other.
The cell radio doesn't seem to cause any problems for me.

Bluetooth Dropout after call when playing music

I am trying to get ALL audio to my BlueAnt Interphone unit. Calls work fine on their own, with no extra audio enabled. Audio will come through OK until I either receive and finish a call or use Voice Command, then it goes to the phone speaker. I have tried using BTMusic, BlueMusic and BTAudio and they are all good at putting audio to the headset but only BlueMusic returns the audio after the call, the others drop out after any other activity. Strangely BlueMusic will return the audio to the headset after a call, but it doesnt allow the call audio through to the headset, it can only be heard on the phone speaker. Searching the forum doesnt seem to show this problem, although several are close they dont provide a solution, though they did provide the info regarding the software choices. I have set the Bluetooth settings with Kaiser Tweak.
Currently running the HTC WM6.0.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Cheers

Help using bluetooth headset with xperia x1

Hi, i have spent some time searching now and since i couldn't find this anywhere i decided to post here, hope someone can help me.
Recently, i bought the official sony playstation 3 bluetooth headset (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Accessories/SCPH-98095) and i have connected it to my xperia x1 through bluetooth (running with itje's touch-it xperience v13.2), the problem is, it only outputs sound for the voice calls, i can't listen to music on it or the normal phone sounds. I know it would be mono sound and not high quality, but i would like to listen to the sound anyway sometimes because its better then leaving it silent.
i have tried in the bluetooth configuration window, clicking in advanced, editing the wireless device profile, thre it was marked hands-free, i clicked refresh and headset appeared, i marked it, then the headset disconnects. when i reconnect it, it auto demarks headset, or it doesnt connect.
I have looked around to see if it was the bluetooth headset problem, but i have not seen anyone else complaining about this or even mentioning it can't play the phone sounds (just some complains about the ps3 sounds not outputing but thats the ps3 fault), and i have also searched to see if it is x1s fault but haven't managed to find an answer as well, so if anyone can plz help i would really appreciate it. Thanks.
thats pretty much because its no BUG.
what u want is a a2dp headset. something tells me that the ps3 headset doesn has this feature. normal headset just route voice calls while a2dp headset route everything.
actually, i didnt use the word bug because i though that might be the case
it has the headset and handsfree profile, not a2dp, but what i wasnt sure if it really needed to have de a2dp profile to output normal sounds, from what i've read it seems it is needed to output stereo high quality sounds, but just sounds with low quality would work for me, thats why im asking, i though the headset profile would be enough for that.
so if i get your message right, unless it has specifically the a2dp profile, there is no other way of making the sound output on the headset, low or high quality?
now i know there might be a way to make it work.
i was listening to some music today using the music player that comes with touchflo 3d, then i pressed the talk button of my bluetooth headset to issue a voice command (with the microsoft voice command program), then the music started playing in my headset while it was waiting for the voice command, once it got the command the music went back to the phone.
Does anyone know any way to make my headset keep playing the sounds, or could at least explain what happens when i press the talk button so i have an idea of where to look to see if find a way?
no one can help me with this? not any tip or a way to select a different output for audio or anything like that?
Also an issue with Audio Gateway
I have tested this issue on two seperate headsets, and so far can get the Xperia to work ONLY as hands free. Seperate phones sperate headsets. The other phone pushed audio thru to the headset whereas the X1 only routes calls.
I also cant find much of this on XDA or anywhere else?
Help?
Regards
i used an ad2p software downloaded from here when i had this issue with my lg ks20. But i havent the gut or im just lazy to try this app on the x1. Maybe u should give that ad2p software a try.

[Q] Phone calls routed to internal speaker on wired or bluetooth headset.

Hi everybody. I have just got my new HTC One and I am really loving it. But I seem to have run into a major problem which I couldn't solve despite trying everything. Whenever I receive or dial a phone call while using a wired headset or bluetooth headset, I can hear the sound in the headset for a couple of seconds but then the call is routed by default to the internal speakers and mic. All this while the phone shows that the output is going to the headset. If I change it to the internal speaker and back again to the headset (wired or bluetooth), everything works normally and I can talk and hear through the headset. This problem only occurs with phone calls and I am able to listen to the music through headsets normally without any sound quality issue. I have searched on various internet forums but all in vain. A few more people were having this problem but no solution was in sight. I thought may be an upgrade would solve this problem but alas even after upgrading to the latest 4.3 update, the problems remains. Hope somebody here can help me with this problem.
