Stream music from Kaiser to HiFI by Wifi - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Is it possible to stream music from the Kaiser to a hifi setup by wifi and if so what equipment and software for the phone would I need.
I have done this by bluetooth over the a2dp protocol but quite honestly there is a marked deterioration in quality, so looking for a better solution.

Hmm I have an Airport Express but that uses iTunes to stream the music over Wifi. So that is not gonna work.. unless Apple will make a version of iTunes for Windows Mobile. (in short: never)
Would be quitte nice if it should work though

Follow my articles; I've presented a fully working solution to this a month ago - if your Hi-Fi is UPnP-capable. See my UPnP Bible in the Wiki.

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you want to do or what capabilities your Hifi has. Is it connected to a network?
All you need is a ExtUSB-headphone adaptor and a patch lead to the Aux input on your hifi.
This will allow you to play content stored on the Kaiser via the Hifi. If your Hifi has a USB port, you could try WM5torage and/or Card Export and use the Kaiser as a Memory stick.
If you want the Kaiser to play media stored on a PC via the Hifi speakers, then I recomend Orb. If your Hifi is UPnP enabled, checkout the posts by Menneisyys and the links to Pocket Player.

Thanks for the replies, I have already used the Kaiser connected via the headphone out to my HiFi and it works great, just thought it would be even better if I could do this wirelessly but seems a bit of a faf, so proabably I'll just stick with the wired connection.

bluetooth music

ive been wanting to stream music to my mates car sytereo when im in his car, but im not sure how its done with this phone can someone guide me
btw id prefer to use s2p as an interface as im sure its usable
I don't what s2p is but I stream to my stereo headset - no problem.
I can't imagine it being any different than setting up a headset. Put the car's bluetooth in setup mode and tell your phone to do a new bluetooth connection.
And if the car doesn't have built in BT, then you would need something like this>>>
http://fmbluetooth.com/
There is a thread for this already:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403795&highlight=bt+stereo
I tried wired w/ the usb adapter before but I am using A2DP for wireless streaming. (Was using Sony DS-220 because it allows battery charging whle playing but recently change my head unit to JVC BT-1 with build in BT support)

Music from laptop via bluetooth

I have a bluetooth stereo headset with which I listen to music with my Kaiser.
I have a laptop that does not have bluetooth. If kaiser is connected to the laptop via USB (and ActiveSync), is it possible to listen to music from the laptop on my bluetooth stereo headset?
Not music stored on the laptop, only stored on the card.
I think you misunderstood my question.
Lets say there is a website that uses flash to play streaming music. I want to open this website on my laptop and listen to the music on the bluetooth stereo headset; since my laptop does not have bluetooth, I want to use kaiser as the bluetooth routing device (may be through USB).
u need 2 buy a bluetooth doggle, cause the tilt can't be used as a speaker for any device wether ur teathering or connect via bluetooth.
Easy answer, no.
Get a BT dongle for your laptop.

How many Bluetooth devices can be handled by HTC TyTN II in *the same time*?

Hello
How many Bluetooth devices can be handled by HTC TyTN II in *the same time*?
To be more precise I’m wondering if my TyTN II can handle following configuration (3 Blouetooth functionalities / devices in the same time):
Device 1:
Internet sharing enabled in TyTN II. It means Bluetooth communication with my notebook.
Device 2:
Bluetooth stereo headphones (connected via Bluetooth to my TyTN II).
Device 3:
SonyEricsson MBW-150 bluetooth watch (connected via Bluetooth to my TyTN II) used to control Windows Media Player and to receive SMSes and voice calls.
Can someone confirm that such configuration can be handled by TyTN II?
Kind regards,
Adam Wozniak
If believe that I've read 'somewhere' that only two things can be done...
cant you connect the TyTn II to your notebook via USB

Nope
I hate cables (and I love wireless solutions).
btw:
I want to use my TyTN II (Internet Sharing) in my daily train (30 minutes in a single direction) when I am traveling to work (and back). Wired solutions are very uncomfortable in such places (no time to get wired everything together, there is no place to put something beside, etc.).
But, anyway, thank you (all) for replies!
Regards from Poland,
Adam

I have tried using a bluetooth headset, A2DP streaming and a bluetooth watch at the same time and they all connected but the music streaming was skipping and not working very well.
I guess it might work but depends on the bandwith of each BT device?
Hi
I will answer my question by myself
I've bought an A2DP Bluetooth stereo headphones (VEDIA SRS-210BG).
I would like to confirm that (for my TyTN II) using Internet Sharing and my A2DP Bluetooth headphones DOES NOT work properly
During activities on my Internet Sharing connection (via Bluetooth) communication with my A2DP stops and I can hear no music in headphones
Those music delays can take several seconds. It's absolutely not acceptable.
Kind regards,
Adam [Poland]

Hi benbranson
I don't get you
So how many Bluetooth devices you have connected to TyTN II in the same time? Three devices:
1. bluetooth headset
2. A2DP device
3. bluetooth watch
... or 2 devices (Bluetooth headset and A2DP device is the same one single device)?
btw:
Which bluetooth watch do you have?
btw II:
You tried this configuration on TyTN II or other smartphone model?
btw III:
You said, that [this your configuration] "not working very well". How long those music skips was? It was (or not) acceptable for you?
Regards && Smiles, Adam
The Tilt can handle more than 3 connections simultaneously - but they have to share available bandwidth.
Things like the watch, ICS and standard mono headset are relatively low bandwidth and buffered and can be used together, transmit things in turns, one waiting while the other transmits etc.
A2DP however is realtime and high-banwidth, so it pretty much needs to be used alone, it won't like sharing the bluetooth hardware with other things.
One thing you can try is instead of connecting the A2DP headset to the Tilt, connect it to the PC, and play music on the PC. Depending on the PC's BT hardware/software it might work well there.

Music Thru Car BlueTooth

Is there a app that will allow music to play thru the Bluetooth in my car?
I have a stock radio that has bluetooth, I can make & receive calls in my car using the bluetooth. However I can NOT play music on my phone and hear it thru my car speakers.
Is there a app solution to this or something else to get this to work
TIA
I would love this...
also I
I'm not understanding the question. Any music player on the G1 (with 1.5) can play music over AD2P through your car headunit. I do it all the time. I can also pause/play and track-forward/back using the headunit's controls.

Not all bluetooth devices support the a2dp profile, some just act as a headset, I've seen similar requests for people wanting audio streamed to a blue tooth headset that doesn't support a2dp either.
As long as your running 1.5 and the latest radio that goes with it, you should be able to get A2DP working without any other applications. Just pair up your car stereo with your phone and it should automatically detect the profile and start piping audio through.

Exactly, I believe my car stereo does NOT support A2DP. I have no problems playing/hearing music thru my Motorola HT820 or my PC.
As you can see (attachment)
DAVID-G: is my PC
Bluetooth Handsfree: is my car
Motorola HT820: is my headset

Long press "Bluetooth Handsfree" and select options. Under profiles you should see a Media profile and it should be checked. If you do not see this, your stereo does not support A2DP.
edit: If your stereo has a line out jack, you can get something like this to make your system A2DP capable without buying a whole new stereo.

Thanks for the tip
I checked under options and it does not show a "Media" profile
My stereo does have a line out jack, but Im not sure I want to spend $100+ on a gadget.
Im hoping some bright app developer can make a app to some how trick my stereo into thinking its a call as my phone plays music
Wishful thinking? I think not, Im sure someone can make it work. I do remember when people said transfering files via Bluetooth was impossible! But now we can with Bluex.

Not possible. The way bluetooth works is that the both devices have to have the same profile in common to communicate with each other. Your phone supports it, your car stereo does not. With OBEX, other devices supported it but the phone did not. To get this working you would either need to hack your stereo to enable the A2DP profile, get a bluetooth gateway (like what I have) or get a new stereo receiver that supports A2DP out of the box.
From experience I can say that the gateway is the best option. I got mine on sale for under $50 at buy.com and it works beautifully. My phone automatically pairs with it when my car turns on and I can make/receive calls as well as listen to music no problem.

He already said other handsets support sending audio to BT devices that don't support A2DP, it's just a matter if the underlying Android OS supports sending audio streaming to non-A2DP devices, eg faking a phone call basically, or not. Or if it can easily be hacked in by someone.
I'm guessing this may require screwing about with the underlying OS code, an app alone may not be able to do it without OS support.
At least I understand the question better now You want an app developer to create something that allows the phone to make up for what's lacking in your headunit.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "headset" profile mono by definition? Are you cool with giving up stereo and audio quality just to get your music over bluetooth to your headunit?
I won't say it's not possible. I've been wrong before on pronouncements like that. But app development is driven by need in the Android world (usually the developer's need first). I hope there's a big enough need that someone will help you out.

The same arguments are made about MP3 v lossless compression, and it turns out people do accept these sort of limitations after all
I don't know enough about the bluetooth standards to even know where to begin making such an app, and I don't plan to start reading up to find out
While not as cheap as a BT audio gateway option, but you can get an inline BT attachment to suit non-BT enabled car radios to support A2DP and for those of you still using phones to talk to others you can even use it as a hands free car kit which uses the car speaks...

I'm glad my unit already does this. But I never use it.
Its worse than just being mono... headset profile is actually a much lower quality... phone quality.
Bluetooth A2DP Audio Gateways
I've been trying to do the same thing as OP, except my stereo does NOT have bluetooth. It does have an aux in down by the cigarette lighter. I've been googling like a fool and researching available bluetooth gateways, thanks to the poster that pointed us towards that Kensington unit. I'm not willing to spend $100 US on this functionality. I have, however, found a nice little device I plan to pick up soon.
RIM Blackberry Bluetooth Audio Gateway
Check it out here: http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=20932
Hope this helps OP and any others that may have similar issues.

anyway there's a long tread about 3.5 bluetooth dongle Here
I know it's old, but in case anyone stumbles on this thread, try btmono (an app on Google play) It puts audio through a mono headset such as that described above. Cheers

[Q] Why doesn’t chromecast output audio through TV's external speakers ?

Here is my set-up:
A Vivo LTV42FHDN 42” Full HD TV (2x HDMI inputs, 1x RCA stereo audio output, few other audio and video input connectors, and a set of really crappy built-in speakers)
A Logitech 2.1 Speaker system connected to TV's RCA audio output
An old DELL XPS M1330 notebook running Windows 7 hooked up to the TV via one HDMI port
A new Chromecast I’m trying to setup connected to the other HDMI port.
When I watch TV and switch to the HDMI input of the PC I get audio through both the TV’s crappy built in speakers as well as the much better sounding Logitech Speakers. However, when I switch to the Chromecast I only hear audio through TV’s built-in speakers. I have connected other PCs and tablets through HDMI before and from what I recall, sound always came out external speakers.
Is there any reason for the PC and Chromecast to behave differently when connected via HDMI ? I tried both HDMI ports, went through TV's audio settings (which only has very few settings like bass, treble, and some sound profiles), but couldn't get the chromecast to output audio through external speakers.
Does this mean Chromecast doesn’t support somesort of an HDMI specification/standard my old PC does, therefore the TV can't split and reroute the audio ? Is there any way to get around this without buying new hardware ? Other than audio, rest of it works great ! For me spending $50 or so extra on additional hardware really defeats the purpose of buying a Chromecast, because for that price I could've bought a DLNA enabled media player.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
I'm not sure about your LG, but my Sony correctly re-routes audio from Chromecast to SPDIF (optical) output connected to AVR, so the Chromecast isn't a problem. I'm not sure about analog RCA output though.
Just go through your TV settings again. There must be an option burried somewhere in menus.

Thanks for your reply, I did go through all the settings on the TV and even read the manual. But couldn't find anything there. Its not a very high-end TV, hence no optical output, all I have is that stereo analogue output.
Few minutes after posting I again connected my new notebook, and a Windows 8 tablet, audio works fine with all of them. But the Chromecast just doesn't work the same way. When I tested I connected all devices to the same HDMI port and didn't change anything on the TV, all I did was plug one in > test > unplug > plug the next one in > test etc.. that's all.. the fact that everything but the Chromecast work has to mean there is something different in Chromecast's HDMI signal.

Try switching the audio output in whatever application you're casting from to Stereo.
If Chromecast is sending multichannel audio, your TV might be smart enough to decode and play it on its speakers, but not smart enough to downmix to the analog output.

Hi,Were you able to resolve this problem? Chromecast works great except for this exact same annoying problem. Also have the same TV. Thanks.
