Final Fantasy 7 Theme - Dirge of Cerberus, Advent Children, Crisis Core (hot!!!) - Windows Mobile Themes

Hi frens, today when I pass by project.ppc-theme.com
I found out a new cool theme =D so I wanna share with my frens, here is the screenshot of final fantasy theme
Instruction
- Download the file given.
- Extract the file which you have downloaded from project.ppc-theme.com to your PC Desktop.
- Connect your PPC with PC via ActiveSync.
- Transfer the .cab files to your PPC.
- Install it to device memory. Do it as your own risk.
- After doing the installation, soft reset your PPC for maximize use.
- Run the Wisbar Advance Desktop application, click and hold on an open area and choose theme manager (note that "Author Mode" must be active).
- Enter Desktop Theme, at the potrait tab choose "final fantasy 7 "** and at the landscape tab choose "final fantasy 7 landscape". After that click ok.
**: required full version.
- Now your today screen will look similar to the pictures above and you're done.
- Remember to make it in "full screen" mode.
- Some shortcuts that exist will most likely induce a "cannot find file" error when you click them.
This is normal, just click and hold on the icon and edit them to correct path through properties.
- This theme run fast because it doesn't need Wisbar Advance in using it.
- Most words in the theme have shortcuts when click on it.
- You can put your photos at all the boxes on dirge of cerberus, advance children and crisis core sections, with the size of 150x100. Now, we have made It is easy to set your own pics. After creating 4 pictures with 150x100 size, name them with "my photo 1.jpg","my photo 2.jpg",
"my photo 3.jpg", and "my photo 4.jpg". Put them all in the following directory
Main memory: \Program Files\Lakeridge\Wisbar Advance Desktop\themes\
final fantasy 7 by ppc-theme.com\photos\
Just overwrite them all and you are done, for instance look at the screenshots above.
- Enjoy using the Final Fantasy VII Theme.

can tell me what is the meaning of that? Is it an idiom? like kicking ass? =p

LOL, Pain in the @$$ means just that. Its a saying that imples that something is a bit of a hassle to go through.
.
Example - Signing up to a forums you have no interest in joing, just to download a file, is a total Pain in the A$$.
Hope that helps, nice work.

+1 I'd also like to know how you convert from vga to qvga themes, I searched for a tutorial but didn't find anything
Could someone please give a link to a tutorial so I can convert these fabulous themes? thanks

Hmm. I can only get the program running, then add the background. That's about it. Anyone got it running correctly?

I can run it perfectly by just installing the full version .cab to my device not storage card

Well, i guess then it's me, because it's still not working...
Let's review here:
wisbar advanced 3.0 installed on device
wisbar advanced desktop 1.3 installed on device
ff7 theme installed on device
No icons are added in the all program menu, just to settings menu called Theme manager.
When i start that i can select the ff7 theme Landscape, and it opens a blue screen with (i think) placeholders for icons.
What am i doing wrong?

Well, i downloaded it from ppc. So i guess it's full.
When i start the application (through explorer, mind you.) i can modify all stuff but i won't see the FF7 theme at all. Only a blue screen with some placeholders.
I can however edit the placeholders position and change the background.
Another thing: I guess my Polaris is Qvga, so this wouldn't work out pretty well anyways, right?

Can someone tell me how I can convert a .JPEG into a .TSK? what program do I need to use? ... thanks.
Or if you can do it for me, that would be great, I have attached it to this post.

Do you just want to apply that as your background or create an entirely new theme?
Try this.
If it can't support jpg (sorry, didn't use it myself yet) you can always use Paint Brush or any other program to convert it to BMP or other supported format.
or irfanview the best free picture viewer / converter out there
I want to apply it as my background Taurus.. but it wont show up unless it's .tsk ..
I have tried paintbrush .. but it doesnt have an option to save as .TSK

Hey Madcap,
I'm actually able to apply it as a background as-is. What happens when you try?
ok, I figured it out, it let me..
BTW.. Taurus, would you happen to have the green VISTA.TSK .. ??
Sure thing. Here are the HTC and WM6 Green themes for ya.
Enjoy!
tsk are not a picture format it's a theme it include text color and buttom and top bar colours
and support 1 background picture and 1 startbar picture
there are tsk makers for wm not sure if they are anygood though or if they are free i'm sure others or google knows
when i enter my today settings i get a list of tsk files
plus if i check the checkbox called
"use this picture as the background"
the browse button stops being disabled and i can brows for just pictures as in jpg and the likes

If you got WinCE cab Manger there is Another way to make *.Tsk files.
You simply copy a existing *.Tsk file( one that you like on taskbar, start menu etc)
Open the tsk file (with the Cab Manager), the first 2 images are for the today screen.(portrait and landscape)
Replace those 2 images with images that you before adjusted according you screen format (VGA or QVGA + LAnds. & Port.) and you need rename the new image files sames as the existing one (practically you overwriting the existing images files)
Cheers

Diamond & Thumbcal : Change link on front screen?

I've been using the Diamond for a few weeks now but I heavily use the calender on my phones and the standard Windows Mobile one just doesn't cut it. Well too fiddly! Search through the board and found Thumbcal which I installed, tried out and found to be a hell of a lot better (plus it ties in nicer with the diamond).
http://www.thumbapps.com/pages/home/thumbcal.php
Does anyone know how to change the link on the front page of TouchFlo 3D so that it takes me to thumbcal rather than the default calender?

yeah
search the forum....
Use SSMAPa.exe IOT change any links....
hmm that looks quite confusing and risky. I think i'll wait til there's a safer solution
Is the better and faster solution, I tried it and works prefectly....
Greetings
I did just change successfully the calendar link in the Today screen of the TouchFLO 3D on a Diamond Touch HD.
Just this message to put the steps together:
1. Download the ThumbCal application and install it.
Remark: With the "SwitchMainCalendar.mscr" script (download and install first MortScript to be able to run the script) you can switch the default calendar from the MS calendar to ThumbCal. This only works for the Today screen of Windows!! Not for the Today screen of the TouchFLO 3D.
If you want to do that, continue with step 2.
2. Download the ManillaPatcher "SSMaPa_0.2.4.3.zip", unzip and copy the exe and xml file somewhere on your phone (I did copy it to my external card).
Run the application. Select the Init tab, click the "Extended Init" and click on the button INIT. This can take some time now.
After that go to the tab Settings and clik the calendar link. At the bottom, click "Patch Enabled", change the entry in the "New Program" to the path of your ThumbCal (in my case : \programmabestanden\thumbcal\thumbcal.exe) and change the working directory (in my case : \programmabestanden\thumbcal\ ). Click the Save button. This will save already the patcher configuration.
Go to the tab Deploy and click on "Deploy Patch". In my case two popups, the standard one with the message "Are you sure?", click yes and the second one with the message that my Manila.exe was signed --> click to delete the signing (don't remember the exactly message).
After that a popup that everything did work.
TouchFLO will restart now and if everything did go wel, your calendar is now the thumbcalendar.
In case something did go wrong, you can click in the tab Deploy, the button Full Restore. This will delete all the applied patches.
Much easier way. Install the calender into your main memory and in the settings from Thumbcal select Set as default calender.
also, you can install thumbcal then rename the thumbcal.exe using total commander to calender.exe and copy the lot to \windows (again with total commander.
works fine for me
Very simple solution

If you already have thumbcal...just download the latest version and install it...if you have already entered the serial number in the old version you wont have to do it again...and then in seting just click set as default calendar aplication...in the last version if you do that it will become the standard aplication in the diamond...in the older version it wont work.

S2P is Slide 2 Play by A_C - Very cool IPhone style music player = You obviously didn't search too hard as A_C is one of the most popular developers on this forum - He also created S2U2 and S2V . SEARCH
Icontacts is a phone contacts manager - I havn't used it yet but I read that it is good - Available - SEARCH
GSLIDE - ? Something to do with sliding screen or something perhaps - GOOGLE it. You might not even need it.
Why don't you install them to find out yourself what they are? Where did you get these? Obviously not from their own threads / sites otherwise you would know what they are = Instructions / readme's are available in their appropriate threads / pages - SEARCH

sos, using my dads account, not used this type of forum before.
I am trying to install them, several done no problem, but the ones i mention have NO setup or install file, they just seem to be a bunch of random files with no instruction how to install or where to place them on my phone.
Have searched, so far I THINK the prob maybe my tof rom.??????????
They are .cab files. By default, WIndows will treat them as a zip file.
When you download these programs, you will have a ZIP file. Inside this file is usually a readme.txt file and a *.CAB file.
DO NOT open the CAB file. Copy the CAB file to your PDA. Browse to the file in file esplorer on your pda and tap on the CAB file. This will install it.
I just downloaded S2P and it does come in a CAB file as I explained.
There was no readme or text file and if i click on the setup to install it, a load of mumbo jumbo i dont understand comes up
I will google it some more, i cannot find a solution at the minute, because whenever i try to install it just wont do it, i'm not sure whether i have to convert them or not, on all my others like "ifonz" Ive just gone into them and they've installed when i click setup but these havnt, just a load of mumbo jumbo and technical stuff i cant understand
Those are the cabs. Basically don't open the zip file. Just copy the whole zip file to you device. Be sure to remember where you sent it. Then using your device, find the zip file (This is the cab). To install on your device, all you have to do is simply click on it. When you open a cab on your computer using WINRAR or WINZIP it looks like a bunch of mumbo jumbo. Stop opening the cab - Just put it on your device and click
Thanks very much! Ive installed almost all of the programs now, Im not sure what to do with iPodclassic1.0QVGA Is it a skin? Or is it not needed because i have S2p

Matrix Theme for Sense 2.1

First, I got the idea and some of the icons from skilty in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425176. Thanks to skilty.
Although I started with skilty's theme, I have pretty much redone all the icons. Not everything was covered in the Rhodium Manila so I needed to add several things. I scoured the internet for some of the other icons and assembled them here.
The first picture is the loading GIF after a reset. The second picture is the background. The third is some screen shots of the TF3D manila. The last picture is the phone dialer.
For the contacts, I have used the Matrix cell phone for the mobile device, the old fashioned phone (hard line) as the home phone, and a phone booth as the work phone.
There are icons for Manila Today Page and for the new Manila TV tab.
Before you do any overwriting of files, I would suggest copying all your manila files to a folder on your desktop in case you want to go back to the way things were before.
I've attached all the manila files in the New Matrix Manila zipped file. The dialer screen, background picture, and other files are in the other zipped file. You just need to copy the manila files onto your device and then use a program like total commander to copy them to your \windows\ directory. I haven't had much luck removing TF3D from today and then re-enabling it. I pretty much had to do a reset after copying the files.
I'm having trouble right now uploading the loading screen gif. I'll see if I can still upload it.
I hope some of you enjoy it! And I don't take any responsibility if anything happens to your phone. There shouldn't be a problem since it is only graphic files that are changing.
I almost forgot to include the Action Screen I created.
You first need to have this installed (I know it was already installed in the Eneregy Rom series 2 I am using). http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=58625
Then you need to copy the contents of the attachment into the \windows\actionscreen\ directory. I have changed one of the buttons to a 3G toggle instead of bluetooth since I never used that one.
Also there is a skin for psShutXP. Its only the image files, so I'm assuming you already have it installed on your PPC device.
Attached is a new action screen by Oz from here.
And finally I have attached a skin for xdashutdown developed here.
Enjoy.
Here is a skin for the power radio app, Resco Explorer, and s2u2. I've also uploaded the matrix background that you'll need for s2u2 background.
Do not understand why this theme was buried. It is soo nice. indeed.

First, do you have Sense 2.1 or the newer 2.5 installed. You should find the info under you device info in settings.
Also, I think I'm going to resurrect this theme so I can use the new CHTScheduler for the CHT Home Tab. So I'll be updating this for sense 2.5 in the coming weeks. You may want to hold on for that.
If you still want what's posted here, I'll throw together some cab files for you. Most of the stuff is manual install, meaning you have to copy all the files to your devices windows directory. Does any of that help?
Hi!
Thank you very, very much! I already took some parts of it (the background pictures) and i put it on my phone. It looks ...WOW...but i still want to install the whole theme.. Yes, i have the latestes Enegy Rom installed, with Sense 2.5...So i will look forward for your new theme (and, if is not to disturbing, the guide step by step how to install it - i undestood that i have to copy all the files to \Windows, but..this is it?? ).

gkFMRadio, integrated into S2U2.

Hi all!
The commute have started again and I have had some time to play...
If you are using S2U2 from http://www.ac-s2.com/ I have something that might interest you.
I have made a small radio that integrates into s2u2 just as s2p does.
The problem with fooling S2U2 the way I do, is that I'm forced to program using c++ win32 API so the UI will look kind of basic.
prerequisites:
Samsung mobile sdk 2
S2U2 (http://www.ac-s2.com/)
usage:
Install cab
start gkFMradio from start menu.
version 005
can save stations into the button rows.
if a saved station is selected you switch between the saved stations in S2U2. (otherwise scanning up/down instead)
If you want to, you can have "album art" for each frequency. Set the imageFolder string in the registry at HKCU\Software\GK_Apps\gkFMRadio to the folder where you have placed jpg-files named after the frequency*100. For example
imageFolder = \My Storage\temp\gkFMRadio
9930.jpg is used for 99.30MHz
version 008
bugfix, kept backround even after radio app closed
Good luck and please give feedback
//Gunnar
(All credit for S2U2 and S2P of course goes to A_C, and yes, I have asked him if it was OK for me to do this...)
Works flawlessly, thank u...
