cant record videos - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

everytime i hit record it stops at 1second.
when i go look for the video in my documents i see a green picture and it wont play. i cant even play videos i had recorded before this problem occur.
any help?

There could be many factors, but there are many posts about Camera issues. One too many as far as I am concerned try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387057
More info would help alot. Like have you flashed a new ROM? Radio? Have you changed anything before it started happening. Go to start, settings, system, device information and click on the hardware tab. Does it show Qualcomm 7200 or 7201?

i flashed it about 2-3 weeks ago to dutty's WM6.1 WWE
radio version 1.58.16.27
it says QUALCOMM 7201..
it takes pictures, sometimes it let me record but it wont play its just green

And it's only 1 second, or are you saying it's just a short recording?

well now for some reason it records more than 1 second..
i was reading that it had something to do with Dutty's rom.
should i just flash to another rom..
what do u recommend?

Your best bet is to read dutty's ROM thread.

so i been reading for hours and can get my camera to work
inow flashed it to [Apr 29] Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2 5.2.19716/5.2.19700

Camera not working on ATT tilt upgraded to Kaiser HTC ROM

Hey everybody, I have been searching for hours on this problem but have not found an answer. I recently bought a att tilt (waiting to get it unlocked) and tried the camera and it was working, I just now "upgraded" to the HTC rom Sleuth's TyTN II Derivative (which is damn great) but my camera has stop working. Everything works fine but the camera. I havent installed anything on it but gps viewer and the slide to unlock. ANybody with the same problem? or anybody with a fix? thank you,

Is your sound working OK?
If not, then it's definately a wrong RADIO ROM.

Wow, that was helpful...NOT!
I'd try a second HR to see if that cures it. I try to make sure that I always do a HR after installing the ROM, don't know why but it does seem to help.
i had that problem with a tilt that was flashed to a kaiser rom. camera wouldn't start...just lagged and no feed came through using dutty's No5 rom. his No5 version for the tilt(or whatever number it was) got the camera to work but no gprs connection. his No6 rom has all things go.
only a few had the same problem so it went unexplained, so just flash around. good luck, as i don't really have a better answer as i was in the same boat
Same problem here camera is just black and laggs like heck
I havent checked my sound yet because as I said I havent unlocked the SIM yet, still waiting on the code but everything else works great. I dont really need the cam buti have it there so its hard to ignore it. Ill try what you guys recomment and will post back. thanks guys

What's wrong with my post?
When you have a Kaiser with the latest ROM and latest RADIO ROM, your camera and sound will work. However, when you flash a (cooked) HTC ROM you have to downgrade your RADIO ROM. If you don't, your sound and CAMERA will not work!
hmm interesting, i have to wait till i get it unlocked to test the sound (you are talking about calling sound and not just keyboard/ ringtones, etc right? how do i downgrade my radio rom? can you please point me out to a link and to which one i should be downgrade it to.
hmmm, i just checked and i do not have sound so i think that its the radio rom. dammit, i knew it wasnt going to be that easy. Gotta find a way to downgrade my radio rom now, any help is appreciated
johan had the right answer, it was indeed the radio rom, changed my radio rom and it is working flawlessly. thank you guys alot for your help! Love the damn phone
It's the radio
you need to tune in the right station with the right radio j/k... just download other or posibly NIKI radios works great!

What radio works for you on the diamond?

I have just finished trying five after it was suggested and it was a terrible experience for me.. how about you? what radio is best.
I've tried ALL radios here around, and for me the best is .07, GSM signal is perfect, GPS fix very quick, battery life almost the same compared to .05, but I don't use 3G so I can't say for that.
bye,
davide
I use the 1.03.25.18
and it's fast like Hell, fast GPS fix (10 sec.), signal the best of all.(for me it is)

6 months!? You've had the diamond since april? and i thought I was early..
Hi,
Can i just ask, can people please state what country they are in when recommending radio roms as some of the available radios are designed for europe.
My second question is, can i flash a new radio without damaging my current rom configuration? (i.e. if i install a new radio will i need to reinstall all of my apps to my rom?)
thanks for your help
No, you are quite safe to flash a radio rom - it won't harm your installed items.
However, you do need Hard-SPL and that will hard reset your device

thanks for the info, i already have hard spl, i put that on the first time i booted my diamond!
i am uk voda user i use radio .07 and have found it far better than 05. gps fix is quicker but more importantly the wifi connection is more stable for me. i am using swiftbl rom 6.2 hope this helps
Started with .03, tried .07 and .08, currently use .05, but I'll try .07 again as it 'felt' like it had the best combination of reception, GPS lock and battery life for me.
.05 here, only one ive flashed myself (default came with .03) and its so much better that i haven't wanted to change or try any others

I have read the forum.. extensively..
For me .05 was not the best (with Duttys v2 rom) .. so that's the question.. what do you use.. whats best for you and your current setup.
one thing i am confused with is the fact that there are alot more radios than in the pole, see below:
Radio v1.00.25.03
Radio v1.00.25.05 (Quad Band,Save Power and have better Network Connection!) "Highly Recommended"
Radio v1.00.25.06 (Quad Band)
Radio v1.00.25.07 (Provided by duttythroy )
Radio v1.02.25.11 (Provided from Bepe )
Radio v1.03.25.18 (Provided from Bepe )
If your going to pole this thread, include all radios!!
Another thing i would like to bring your attention to, in your pole there is this radio: 1.00.25.08 Where is this available? i cannot find it anywhere!
Also maybe someone can explain this to me, i was under the impression that as new radios were developed/released they would be improvements based on the most current radio.
Using this thought process surely that would mean that Radio v1.03.25.18 would be the most up-to-date radio? (or does it not work like that?)
bennec83 dutty has a 08 radio on his download page..
the reason for not listing those others was because I expected 07 and 05 to be the only real contenders (and the others are ones I have tried)..
This seems to be born out by the current results..
Also I left the 'other' selection for the remainder

I'm on 2nd day of .08 (from dutty) radio and this one perform well such as .07 but I suppose something has improved .07 + .01 = .08
gps fix is really quick (at least from warm start) and the signal strength is really good (in open space always 7/8 sat)
just for note I use tomtom v7 and rom + radio in my signature

.18 gave problems here too... now I'm running .08 (from dutty) and ALL is working very well, for what I've understood .08 ver comes from diamond 3G (us ver)

Audio issue, please help

I did a search under "audio" and "search", and couldn't find anything or suck at searching.
I'm using the AT&T Tilt which I did the WM 6.1 upgrade minus bloatware and am running KaiserTweak. Other than that, everything is factory.
I can talk on my phone just fine and it rings without issue, but all other sounds are muted. The alarm only vibrates even though sound is also selected, no sound for music, no ques on my bluetooth (ie, "Say a command"). I'm sure it's something easy and I'll feel stupid, but can anyone help me out?
In addition, my display will dim and the only way to brighten it again is to blank the screen and then turn it back on (I haven't searched this yet).
Thank you very much, Peter.

I'm not sure what HardSPL is ... Noob.
I'm also searching to see how you install a new radio. There are just so many posts here that you have to search through pages of search result after search result to find this stuff.
I'm looking at going to the 1.65.24.36 radio, but I've read that you have to have HardSPL, which I still don't know what that is, and it says its the NIKI network, and I don't know if that means I can't run it on the AT&T network.
Confusing and overloading at the same time.

Hard SPL allows you to flash you phones ROM with Images other than the ones provided by your carrier.
Installation instructions in Post #2 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922 You will probably be best with 3.56 version.
Flashing a Radio help is here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182
If the Radio is listed in this thread and is for the same WM version it should work. All the other info is where it was ripped from, it only goes in the thread if it works.
However, all that aside, if you have just upgraded the ATT stock ROM, none of that should be needed. Can you re-check all of the Sound and Volume options in Start>Settings and the Drop down from the volume option on the today screen.
Thanks
Dave

Yes, it's just the stock WM 6.1 ROM. I'm not interested in being a power user, I just want the very basic improvements. This may change down the road, but everything with the exception of sound works great.
In the Sounds & Notifications settings. Events, Programs and Notifications are checked but not Screen Taps or Hardware Buttons. When I click on the "Speaker" icon, both the device and phone settings are at max and on.
I dunno then, maybe another ATT user will come along and have some more help, sorry
Dave
Thanks Dave, I appreciate your help. I'll probably just hard reset it and see what happens. Thanks again.
Maybe the bloatware install was interrupted to early?

Absolutely a good idea, especially if you've just upgraded ROMs (always a good idea to do a hard reset after a ROM upgrade anyway as a matter of course). If you interrupted the configuration/bloatware install at the wrong place, that may explain why some of your sounds aren't working also. Try the full uninterrupted install, test the sound in all the areas where it currently doesn't work properly, then work backwards doing another hard reset and interrupting it at the 'right point' until your sounds are there but not the things you don't want.
The OP was 100% correct. He sucks at searching.

How to tweak to the maximum the Kaiser GPS?

Hello there,
I bought a week ago a second hand kaiser, and i noticed that it already had the hyper dragon IV lite rom flashed, so i told myself, all the hard work is done, go try some custom roms.
And I did, there was some lite ones, some plenty of softwares, some 6.5, but the thing i want from this phone is: THE GPS and the MP3 player, thos are the most important things for me, since i am all the time moving here and there, i really need them.
So, in order to be a more independant guy, i searched, and i searched again, i found some useful threads that made my gps work (because it almost wasn't working i bought it), and some others that made GPSTest display high bars on gps detecting but no fix at all (it also screwed my signal, and fu**** up my camera, and that's bad), all that by changing radio roms and trying.
And well i am very tired of trying again and again, feel just like if i was stuck in the middle of nowhere.
So, my questions:
Does the gps really work better on 6.0wm than the 6.1 and 6.5?
Does the gps really work better on stock roms than cooked ones?
Does the quickgps software really improve the speed to get a FIX?
How long are the bars your devices display when you activate your GPSTest soft? (i'm having a quarter max, and when i say a quarter, it is really the down limit of the quarter, it rarely go upper)
I have a tomtom 7.450 soft, and this thing is all the time saying bad gps reception (sometimes it even end up screaming no gps harware), is it normal?
So what software do you use for navigation?
I really don't care about cooked roms optimisations, fast and everything and all that, i want to be able to answer and emit calls, receive and send SMS, write some notes from time to time, and make GPS working great, wanna have a super fast fix.
I'm living at Brussel in belgium, living in the 5th floor, and testing my gps close to window, or i go to a parc 10 minutes away from home.
I am ready to try almost everything that can guis ALL of US to have a better GPS!
This works for me.

As I charge my TyTN II by putting it to bed in its cradle every night (which is connected via USB to my PC on the internet), it automatically updates its QuickGPS data so it's hardly ever more than a day old any way. Often times during a day while I've got an active data connection I'll also manually initiate a QuickGPS download. Interestingly, the HTC Official WM 6.1 'update' for my TyTN II broke this feature and QuickGPS wouldn't automatically update when plugged into its cradle - even manual updates didn't make a difference though as far as WM 6.1 was concerned.

I have version 6.032 which came with my HTC Branded TyTN II on an accompanying CDROM. It's still avail for purchase although for some crazy reason TomTom wont sell version 7 or even an upgrade to it so there's no official way to buy it except for on the devices it comes with. If you get hold of version 6 from TomTom on a device kitted out as per mine, it will work and work well - unless you have lead lined walls and heat reflective film on your windows in which case you'll only get good performance outside.

Similar priorities to me, the only true speed/performance related area I find important is GPS, reliability is the next preference and thats where the Radio version I'm using comes into things. I found that although 1.27.12.11 gave quick GPS fixes, sometimes when Pocket Media Player was playing a music or video file, it'd stall its playback while waiting for TomTom to get a fix. Radio version 1.27.12.32 fixes this and also gives quick GPS fixes. I have tried even newer radios (2 versions of 1.27.15.32) but alas as is with the case of many of the newer offerings, that was a step backwards in terms of GPS performance (at least here in the UK (/Europe?).
There is a section in the xda-dev wiki all about improving GPS performance if you haven't already found it.
I had tomtom 7 and the gps fix in that software was horrible for me. Even when google maps and gpstest had a good fix, tomtom would say "bad signal" or "no signal. I switched to igo which locks in after a minute and works perfectly. The other problem that could be affecting you might be the radio version. I had one radio that would make my GPS useless; it would never connect. Try changing your radios and see if that helps.

I don't understand what you're getting at. The precise setup in my signature works really well for GPS. If you flash all those components and aren't to far away from the UK, I imagine it'll work well for you - there's no harm in trying.

Thats because you've not read the relevant ROM Flashing wiki's and stickies enough to know that you must use a WM 6.0 Radio with a WM 6.0 ROM. I suggest you spend more time revising things in this area as it WILL be time well spent and you'll learn more about your device.
Euh, which one? I seen so many articles and articles that i'm not sure if i seen it

Well you needent. All the details of what works best (as far as stock components go) are in my sig and as Belgium isn't far from the UK, I cant see why it shouldn't work well for you also
Just flashed back to ROM Version: 1.56.405.5
Radio: 1.27.12.32
But gpstest cannot find the gps, and it stucks on com5 while scanning
And when i close GPSTest i cant launch it again

You did read the part in the wiki about making sure you have a WM 6.0 compatible SPL version didn't you (SPL questions? section covers it well). Again, you need ALL the bits in my sig (note that I don't need or use GPStest under this WM 6.0 setup). I cant say how it'll go with other than TomTom 6 as thats all I've used apart from Google Maps which also works very well on this setup - you might want to try the free Google Maps for testing purposes if you have a data package from your network provider.
I got my current setup by flashing hardSPL 1 then the complete ROM shown in my sig (which came with 1.27.12.11 Radio originally) then upgrading the radio to 1.27.12.32, then flashing the HTC 1.93 spl (this last step shouldn't be necessary though if you think you'll be doing more flashing).
I'm using the official WM6.1 and the GPS lock is horrible. I can see it getting signal from a number of sats but it can take 10minutes to lock in sometimes. I've read some threads on the subject, and have tried Quick GPS and have aGPS off, but neither guarantees a quick lock.
I seem to recall WM6.0 was better but it was also using a different radio then as well.
Anyway, sorry nothing I can offer to help.

You mean like the setup in my signature? You do realise it's possible to go back to this if you read up here on xda-dev about how to do so?

I agree, short of trying a custom WM 6.1 ROM, with no guarantee of success or installing third party apps to 'help' the GPS work properly, IMO WM 6.1 is a lost cause as far as GPS is concerned.
I had the same problems with the GPS, what I've found to work is using a program called GPSToday. there are 2 programs, one is a today plugin, and the other is a program. I use the program, and it really makes a difference for me. If you do a search in the Kaiser software forum, you will find more information about it. I use it with TomTom software, i start GPS today a min or 2 before i start tomtom and i get a fix right away.

Great News from Here
I Managed to get my phone configured exactly like yours, and god! It is damnly fast, i got my first fix within seconds, its almost unbelievable !
I had it configured like that when you first advised, but i forgot to downgrade spl, i suppose that was the cause of the malfunctioning.
I really recommend to everyone who have the same priorities, to flash back to Flying Kiwi settings:
ROM Version: 1.56.405.5
ROM Date: 08/28/07
Radio: 1.27.12.32 (better than 1.27.12.11 with WMP)
Protocol: 22.45.88.07H
SPL: 1.93

Here is the threads that can help you :
For the SPL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061
For downloading the 1.56.405.5 rom: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs
For the 1.27.12.32 radio: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Radio
Man, you really were very helpful, thank you very very very much, and my kaiser is even faster with this settings.
If i can help by anyway send a pm please
This post should be made sticky for future information!
EDIT:
I have to Warn you Guys: In order to have the GPS working you have to follow this procedure:
Flash the 1.56.405.5 rom and then flash the 1.27.12.32 radio rom, and finally flash the SPL, otherwise GPS will not work, i just tested that
Did the Wm6.0 up/downgrade also resolve the precission of the GPS?
Iam now on WM6.1 WWE with radio 1.70.19.09 and hardSPL 3.56 with a realy fast GPS fix within 30 secs. no problems with that
But the problem is that I mention a little lag kind of thing when navigation with TT7 in my car. The Tomtom arrow is little bit behind with the reality it is usable though but if i connect it to an external sirfIII gps mouse it is more accurate.
So I wonder if you guys also have a slight GPS lag with WM6.0...

Video Call in Cooked ROMs: To Users and Chefs

Does video call work in the ROM you use or the ROM you crearted? Please state what version ROM that it works or not.
I have been going crazy trying to get my video call to work. I am sure there are other modders (chefs) who have their one little bug that annoys them so much, video call is mine I guess.
I have heard from different users stating that some ROMs work and other users stating that the same ROM does not work. So I really have no idea what's going on.
If it is a common problem among ROMs maybe some of us can work together to see if we can fix it...I guess the first thing is to see if it works in official 6.5 Rhodium ROM.
An official HTC Test 6.5 Rhodium ROM can be found here.

At0m,
As I've told u before in ur ROM thread, I've tested video call on Rhodium_AF with upcoming Manila 2.1|WM65 23016 ROM and found to be working 100%; video & voice..
I've tried again JUST NOW and confirm to be working
Asking for others to try and see it for themselves to believe..

I can confirm that, as stated in the changelog, video calling was fixed and it works fine, and this is the only rom I have found so far to have the video calling working.
on my test rom i added the packages from the original 6.1rom, and it WORKS GREAT ON WM 6.5 with both manila 2.x, 2.x with weather and 2.5 all versions, havn't tried 2.6 yet.
ps. don't know if it affected, but i use some regs from the OEMDRIVER .RGU file.

So video calls might work based on where you live or what? Seems like it works for some, and it doesnt for others!
Video Call only works if you have 3G coverage, so it actually depends on wher eyou live too in some way
The video call works with both, UDK Tir Rom and Ark's AF Rom , I can confirm , I tried !!!!
Even with 3G your provider may not allow video calling. I never got video calling to work on at&t with my xperia. I wish i could help At0m but I have the euro TP2 so i get no 3G at all and i'm pretty sure at&t will block it.

i'm using Ark's rom 21858 release but video call only working just after soft reset when the memory usage is 44%. when the memory usage reach 51%. It shows " Can not start video call because of low memory". anyone tried 21859 or newer release without any problem with video call?

Can anyone confirm this? I have been chasing a restart problem with my ROM since I created this thread and having a b*tch of time getting it right. If this is true then it explains a lot of things.

As per my reply in another thread, yes. I confirm that video call works after a soft reset but not after the phone has run a few applications. I can't confirm if the minimum threshold is at 51% but I can confirm that video calls can't be made from 60% onwards.
The reason why I say this is because I load the weather wallpaper as well as have wifi turned on on start-up. This results in 55% utilisation after a reboot and I can still make and receive video calls. In fact, doesn't this raise the possiblity that its not memory utilisation that's the trigger but what else is loaded or has been run since startup?

Thanks so I guess it is not working 100%. I wish people would report the correct info so when someone decides to take the time to figure out these things they have the correct data
