SWF games - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Ok, so i downloaded mobile flash player, and i opened a few swf games. Line rider works perfectly except the sled guy never appears. And defend your castle works perfectly except its not very responsive and the frame rate is very low. I have an AT&T tilt with stock everything except camera.

And I regularly play hexxagon, but found that due to a recursive loop dice wars didn't work so well....
....was that the point to this thread or did you have a question?

Wow, i didnt even ask a question lol. Yeah, i was just wondering if there was any other way to play them or if there were games that worked.

sorry for the double post, but i noticed the frame rate is perfect if i hold down on the screen and move the arrow around(in hexxagon, great game btw!)

What flash player do you use?
Is it a standalone application or some kind of plug in to IE?
Thanks

WOW....hexxagon. I remember that game from DOS 20 years ago. There was a Hexxagon II also IIRC.

i use that trial version. If theres somthing else that would be better that would be awesome.

anybody have any playable swf games or a good swf player?

I have installed flash player 7 for windows mobile and created a html file to embed the flash game into. Then I just load it up in PIE by shortcut to the file.
Admittedly this means I have PIE set as the default browser, but if I want the internet I tend to load opera seperatly and browse from there and these means I get games.

How can i embed a game in a html file, to play it with opera (10 beta 2) or PIE (Pocket IE?) ? Just input a path? thx

youtube video

can they be watch on the phone through any browsers? I thought the opera mini would be able to since it is a java based browser but it didn't for me, still told me I didn't have the right plugin or java turned on.
any ideas?
i have yet to get anything besides PIE working with youtube. Opera Mini works inside of the java VM, and Picsel and Opera Mobile just don't work.
You should really use the search feature.
However.
I can view full Youtube videos using TCPMP and FLV bundle. If I click on a youtube link in PIE then TCPMP opens and starts playing automagically. PIE will open 3gp videos in Streaming Media from m.youtube.
http://discussion.treocentral.com/showpost.php?p=1319431&postcount=1
this is the link for unlimited video with youtube on our phones
thanks for the info
when i tried to go to youtube in PIE it loads up the program but always give me the error media type not supported
I am going to try the instruction on the link when I get home from work.
anyone got the above method working on a Vario 3 on T-mobile UK web and walk basic? think they might be restricting it somehow.
Try using vTap, it's free and REALLY good in my opinion (it's all in one so you watch the video inside the app, not with external program - although it actually uses tcpmp, but it's embedded)
edit: and it uses less bandwidth (can choose between 4 settings combining normal/better audio, normal/better video... aaah you'll see, it's really great)

New Official Divx mobile player

Not a bad alternative to core player or tcpmp players, actually works quite well. http://www.divx.com/mobile/
its very nice - thanks bro
Thanks for the info.
I have downloaded it and tried it. It's a useful backup to TCPMP and Coreplayer.
Is there any chance to use divx for recording videos with the camera?
I'm asking cause i read it on the divx page, but it was just for some devices
can somebody just post a link to the cab file? why should i register for a free bit of software and let them spam me?
I correct my first post. I have uninstalled this app because it changes my backlight settings. I can't stand it when an app changes my settings!!! I have set my backlight to go off after 1 minute on battery and when charging. This app changes these settings to 5 and 10 minutes respectively...I cannot for the life of me understand why they can't code this properly.

Can it play or add codecs for AVC, h264, AAC etc etc?
I guess not...
(so its not like it is any alternative to TCPMP, its just a one-format player)
The latest build is dated April 17th, how is that "new"? (Almost half a year old = back in the stone age in tech terms )
I found this a bit jerky with some vids where the same ones play fine in coreplayer. Thanks for the heads up though.
Yep, i agree, after playing with it for about ten seconds, it's pretty much a one trick pony compared to core n tcpmp. I dig the nice simple interface reading compatible files though; scrolling through an 8 gig storage card with Core looking for Bamboo *****es when you have over a hundred files that start with B...is annoying and a hard on kill. Hopefully Coreplayer is watching
Nice
thanks

Finally A Working Android DIVX player

Here it is folks, on the market, yxflash, Check it out!
Its about time!
Believe i had this running on my 2g iPod touch. Currently doesn't playback videos smoothly, but hey, it's a start ^_^
didn't seem to work!
Worked for me, but some pauses in places and lag on the DivX moivie I tried. UI very rough. Pause/Play only in portrait mode. No menu options either while playing. Not worth paying for yet...more of a beta version.
Doooh....pauses after 2 mins because not registered! Still, UI needs work!
works fine with some glitches but 15$ for full version is insane
i'll stick with my encoding my videos
hi
how you get full version ? i havent tried this yet ... anyway besides this does anyone know when there will be an actual divx player available or is this the only one there is etc
Heeeeeeeeeelp,

Market->Search->xyflash->Install ?
does it support .srt files for subtitles?
It's still pretty poor! Very laggy and crashes occasionally.
Does anyone know of any decent video player for Hero
Can't wait for Coreplayer to be released for Android.
doesnt show up when I search for it in the market
I couldn't see it either when searching on Market, but it did come up when I searched for "divx"...
go figure...
Can anyone tell me wot the performance of this app is like on the HTC HERO? Can it play the standard 700MB movies you get off the net. 512x384 resolution etc or do you have to convert it to a lower res?
THANKS
It's ****ty. I tried episodes of 180mb, and it lags like hell.
Waiting for Coreplayer..
Lol
I thought something had finally come around that works when you resurrected this thread and I saw "finally a working divx...".
This player is aweful and you'd be best sticking to converting your videos.
full version doesn't work well too... still need improve before it can start charging. i done a crack for testing as request. it seem buggy & doesn't support all divx format. please do support paid version if you think the apps worth your $$.
On a similar theme, can anyone recommend a decent wmv player?
Or more info on iPhone/Zune/mp4 compatibility of the Hero?
Thanks
Phil
Plays for about 1/10 of a second then sends you back to the BUY section on 1.5......

Skyfire supposed to play flash with no need of anyother software to install & I have a major problem not playing any flash on it says "Web Kit Files" missing, any help please?
I'm having the same issues...
I installed flash for 2.1 and while it will most definitely load a game off addictinggames.com i can't tap any of the buttons.
I'm more interested in using it for firstrow.net so I can watch live soccer and baseball, but everytime I direct to that site the regular browser crashes (tries to load flash app) and skyfire gives me the flash 9 exclamtion point.
has anyone had any success withgetting flash to run on this thing? I wouldn't even mind if flash lite 4 ran on it just so long as it started the video. Skyfire will load vimeo but not any others....
I can't believe that everyone else in the entrie android 2.1 community is having zero issues, but I can't find a single thread about issues... the engadget video of the desire running the flash video is so tantalizing...I want the same :-(
just so everyone knows what I have installed, I gott he flash_for_21.apk from the zip file and it installed no issue. .swf files will play in the browser...but anything that has a vimeo, tube8, or regular old flash plugin will not load. the regular browser crashes every now and then and skyfire just refuses to load it (or it notifies that there is a video to watch, and it'll buffer and the video requiring a play click won't load)
help please?! I've got my captivate rooted, sideloading, and bloatware-free, flash is my final frontier!

That's odd, doesn't Skyfire use server-side rendering for flash and push it to the phone after compression? Just like on Windows Mobile?
I'd gotten flash videos to play on my Captivate using Skyfire, just not embedded in the page. I had to click on the little, "Video" tab on the bottom Skyfire menu and then it played.

Same here. Once I do that I can play flash video perfectly.
I can do that, but I'm much more interested in embedded flash working with browser or skyfire.
I have some more **shady** places that I can watch live sports from would be amazing if they worked

Crackle - Free movies and tv shows

I didn't see a thread for the Crackle app from Sony that is free in the Market. This app gives you access to a lot of free movies and television shows. I have it installed on both of my gTabs (one running VEGAn 5.1.1 and the other running CyanogenMod 7.0.3 (stable)) and it runs great. I have noticed that during some times of the day it seems that the network connection between Crackle's servers and my house come to almost a crawl. Other than that it's another great free way to watch movies and t.v. shows on our gTabs.
Can you please share the latest version of the apk, all searches outside US gives us the 1.0 version (which don't run on the gtab).
TIA

How's this supposed to work-download the movie or is it streaming etc??
Saw a add to Que but don't know how this works.

I've never ran that ROM so I can only speak to my experience with a gTab running CM 7.0.3.
It streams the video like Netflix/Hulu/Fox TV, it doesn't download it like the BlockBuster app.
Like I said on my original post, at certain times of the day or with certain videos it seems the network connection is super slow which can lead to white or black screens with only audio as the app is trying to buffer the video. Try it when you have the best WiFi connection possible. When at home I have 12 mb downstream and it plays fine for me 90% of the time.
As for the queue, it's just that, a queue like on Hulu. It's sort of a playlist so if you have several shows or movies in your queue they will play one after the other automatically.

Well I'll try again and thanks for the info.
I must say, I'm pretty unimpressed with it. Its organization is a mess, and it looks like it just has rather unpopular shows and movies on it.
I might be wrong. But it seems to me that I'm sticking with Netflix for the time being.
Some of us are too cheap to pay for Netflix.
It's still got a few decent movies on there, and Seinfield and Married w/Children are a hoot for quick watching. It's at least worth a download, even if you only watch a couple of movies and uninstall it.
Pretty awesome Running G-Harmony and watching Ghostbusters as I type this! Thanks for posting!!
Thanks OP Great App. Works great on my GTablet and Droid X phone

It sounds like Crackle is using Flash. And it's a well known issue that flash only kind of works in Bottle of Smoke. Flash will play audio but not video. Knowing this I will not bother trying to install this on my tablet which is running GTabComb (which is a 1.1 bootloader derivative of BOS). The only reason YouTube app works on BOS is because it is probably using html5 instead of flash in the app.
Could you u post the latest version?

I would if I could find where the apk was saved to. I didn't find it in the usual \data\apps folder like all of my other apks.
Like this app. Just watched Resident Evil. Good flick.
