How to assign buttons to programs not listed - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

How can I assign short press of PTT or any button to silent mode and long press of PTT or any button to to the in-call Mute function, not to be confused with the silent profile or the silence ringer function. I am looking to Mute the microphone. I don't see any such program in the assign a program list. Thanks

As far as I know its not possible

Use Schaps AdvancedConfig Tool. Under KeyMappings you are able to assign any file to a button

yes it can be done all you have to do is create a shortcut to the program and place the shortcut in the windows\start menu\programs folder. viola it will pop up in the button assignment settings
This info is also in the wiki by the way

How do I create a shortcut to the program
How can I create the shortcut for these programs. I could not find the shortcut for silent/vibrate mode and in-call Mute function in the windows dir.

Does this work?
That is what I tried, but there isn't a comm button on the Kaiser... It didn't work on any of the buttons I found. Does anyone know the reg key? we could probably change it to the ok/close button instead. I emailed kyphur to see if he knows...

I tried this, and it's a good concept, except the AT&T ROM doesn't expose PTT as a possible button mapping, which means one of the existing start/PIE/messaging/ok/camera buttons would have to be sacrificed for a vibe toggle.
The superfluous PTT button is the obvious candidate for a vibrate toggle but sadly neither of the suggestions allow its use as such.

As the 8525 was eventually hacked for the PTT button to be useful you will have to be patient. This device is new so it takes time.
This works fine, load Vibra Switch, it will place 2 apps in the programs folder "Vibra Switch" and "Vibra Switch Delayed" (you can delete that one). Then in Settings>buttons> Select button 6, the top-left button currently used for single-press=Voice Speed Dial, press-and-hold=Recorder, re-assign the "press-n-hold button to be "Vibra Switch" and you are done.
I've been listing my tweak tries in amother thread, I can't get Bluetooth to redirect all sounds out to headset and I also can't get vjay lumos III to make the display go super bright. With no transreflective screen, this is now a very important tweak to me, I hope these can be figured out.
ahhhhh sweet. you guys are great!

Use a little app called "BTaudio toggle" it works good for me!
Love you spiro! Searched and found BTaudio.exe, Life is good! With my 8525 I had to use Mortscripts, this is easier. Pressing my Jawbone headset button launches VoiceDialer and kills the re-direct, but that's no big deal. I like that I can now launch Voicedialer.
Last tweak remaining is a single button toggle to BRIGHTEN the screen!
Vibra Switch not working
I installed Vibra Switch in my new Tilt but is working as described. Anyone knows why?
i'm not sure about the commands to switch to vibe mode ( i use phone suite) but to expose the PTT button (short and long)
try adding a couple of new reg keys 40C6 and 40C7 in HKLM/software/microsoft/shell/keys. mimic the the keys and values on 40C5 and then soft reset.... it will then show up in the button control panel.
for reference, this is where i got it...

Yes, I can confirm this works well. I've mapped a long press of my PTT button to Vibra Switch, so I just hold it down to toggle between ring and vibrate.

I created a shortcut to the backlight application in /Windows/Programs and then mapped it to a button. A single push of that button brings up the backlight app, from there you can use the right directional button to increase brightness in steps. Biggest problem for me was adjusting brightness outside on a sunny day where the screen can not be seen - this fixes that for me.

{SOLVED} Assign Speaker on/off to a key?

I want to assign a shortcut for speaker on/off to some key (like the recording button on the left side) so i can shift to speaker while being on call. can i do it? I tried it using the settings -> buttons but couldnt find the shortcut for speaker
Can't you just switch to speaker by holding down the call button during a call?
no...during call if i press the dial button (green one) it puts it on hold
there is a touch screen button for the speaker on/of but i want it on the button only.
You can do this through ae button plus.
a link to the cab would help me a lot please...

One-touch method to switch between vibrate and sound on?

I really miss being able to switch between vibrate and ringer/sound-on the way I did on my Kaiser, which was to hold down the camera button (or any button of my choice) for one second.
It seems on the Diamond I either have to touch the taskbar, then the sound icon, then switch it, or, go to Settings tab, then Sounds, then switch it.
Is anyone using a one-touch approach for this on the Diamond, whether it be with a hardware key or on the touchscreen?
Thanks in advance.
You can assign the end call button to switch between ringer and vibrate. Go to Settings>System>Long Key Press and you will see the option.
i just hold vol up/down to switch

Profiles - managing and selecting

I’ve been using a HTC S710 and I liked the way I could press the Power-button and get a menu where I could choose from different profiles (ring volume, vibrate on/off and so on). Is there nothing similar in the Diamond 2?
The only thing getting close to this is in the settings where you have 4 profiles, but you can't create your own or modify them? Also, there is no quick button to change this?
Is it just me missing this?
use GProfile. I dont think you can make your own or edit profiles on its own.
you can find some kind of profile when you press the volume button. on that form there are 2 buttons silent and vibrate.

Volume control - assign program to the OK-button on the left side

I am missing an option to assign a program to the OK button (the on below the scroll-wheel - it is not the same as the OK button on the front). In TCPMP I can assign a funktion to this key and TCPMP calls this key "Win+F6".
I am realy missing a volume-key and I tried to assign the program "setVolume v0.8" to this key. Is it possible? Or is there an other option to use the scroll-wheel to control volume?
Scroll-wheel up and down seems to be the same as D-Pad up and down. Is there a chance to assign scroll-wheel/D-Pad up and down to volume up and down (maybe only on today-screen).
AE Button Plus it's free just a nag screen on startup, you can program 4 events per button.
I use volupop assigned to long press ok and then can use scroll wheel for main volume.
