HTC WM6.1 : Audio Manager corrupted display - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Hi folks
I'm having a problem with HTC's Audio Manager. When starting it up I get a corrupted display (see attachment).
The 'Player' menu item is also not displaying anything, so I take it the application has crashed
Has anyone else experienced this or better yet know a solution?
Thanks in advance

Yep. The same thing happend to me to when I activated the Music tab on Today screen and maximized the Audio Manager from running task list. When I switched from portrait to landscape it cleared up. Reboot didn't make a difference. I ended up deactivating the "Music" tab.
When I just start Audio Manager from "Programs" it's not messed up.

Thanks! Switching display modes does fix the display
Hopefully this will be fixed in a later version of HTC Audio Manager

Don't open audio manager through the tab and then maximize it through another program like wktask. what you have to do is click the tab again to actually open the program. that fixed it for me. I would get problems when i didn't do it that way.

I think I found a way around it ever corrupting. I had the same problem but this last time I installed the app (I've been flashing ROMs... a lot! ), the first thing I did was open audio mgr through the Programs icon, created a Playlist and played some music.
I then closed it and went to the Today music "tab" and when I click it once, it automatically loads the list and displays the first song in the little window; if I click again (with a song name displayed) it pops open the full Audio Mgr app without any corruption.
Just my two cents, hope this works for you.

Sounds completely unlogical... so reasonable enough for an MS product
Next time I flash, I'm definetly gonna try it out.

Install the seperate today plugin
Try installing the seperate today plugin. You don't need it enabled but I think installing it will help with the problem.

Kaiser Options

Hey fellow Kaiser users,
I'm currently using the Tilt, with Dutty's touchflo rom. I have a few things that I was wondering whether or not can be done within the device. Can these be done? If so, how?
1. Setting TCPMP as default player within the HTC Home Plugin to be able to control the next and previous options from the home screen (assuming just using it for audio purposes) or use a skin on top of TCPMP that looks similar to that of HTC Audio Manager
2. Set S2U2 to startup with device so that you don't have to select it in order for it to run. If this is not possible, is there a way to change the items included in the quick launcher, so that S2U2 or some other program can replace some items included in the launcher?
That's all I can come up with right now, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh and by the way, Dutty, your custom ROM is awesome, glad I found it.
I can't help you with TCPMP but if you use a program like Battery status it will give you the ability to set up a tray launcher which will allow you to set up s2u2 there which is what I do along with some other apps. Heres a picture of it in the middle it gives you meters you can set up at the bottom is the tray launch.

For tcpmp, to set it as default, go to options>settings> slect page>file association> check all that you need. Exit the program. Reset the device. and you should be good to go.
I've set all the file associations within TCPMP, but this doesn't set it within the HTC Homepage Plugin and allow you to control it from the homepage. If I could get this to work, it would be awesome, but it may not be possible. If that's the case I guess I'll just have to use TCPMP's not-very-aesthetically pleasing interface. . But I can deal with it, it works, so I guess that's good enough.
The HTC Home plugin only works with Windows Media Player or HTC Audio Manager.
S2U2 loads up fine for me after a soft reset. It can be selected to be used in the Home Plugin in the normal way or assigned to a hardware button or soft key.
For some reason mine doesn't automatically load after a soft reset, I have to either launch the configuration tool or the application itself in order to use it. Does anyone happen to know if there is a way to, or exist a theme similar to the appearance of the HTC Audio Manager?
Thanks for all your help everyone!

You should be able to set it to come on by defult with "S2U2 Setting" (most likely found in your "system Tools" folder). Make sure you have the faollowing set to ON:
-Start on wake up
-Start on backlit off
then click:
-Save
-Yes
That should do it.

Start Menu and Desktop Disappears

Hi,
I have Windows XP and my start menu and desktop has disappeared. I can get programs by getting up the task manager.
Does anybody have idea as to how I might fix this?
Thanks in advance guys.
This happens when explorer crushes.
If you don't want to reboot, run explorer /desktop and it should solve your problem.

in the taskmanager go to new process and then type explorer.exe
unless the issue is that you resized it so small it dont show
I have tried rebooting, and it doesn't solve the problem.
I've also tried running explorer and explorer /desktop from the task manager. The start menu bar appears for around 30 seconds and then disappears. While it does appear, I am unable to click on the Start button. I hover over the button and an hour glass appears. The start menu then disappears.

f*ck me that's a lot of processes! My laptop currently has 23 processes running
sorry I don't have any good advice, except maybe try system restore?
I guess you already know what cdrom_mon.exe and the other ones with no description/company name are. (I don't) If not, maybe check them?
currently on this pc 91
and i havent even fired up
vistual studio
sql server
or gimp
Holy ****. I killed all unknown processes and ran explorer from the task manager and was able to get it to work. I couldn't pinpoint the exact process as I killed a whole load. I have to do this everytime I reboot, but its a good enough workaround me right now.
Thanks for all your suggestions guys.
http://www.processlibrary.com/
here you can go over the processes 1 by 1 to see what they are
if you want to kill one forever doing a search for it's name on the disk
and renaming it to blablaname.exe/dll or what ever to blablaname.exe.old
it cant start up but of cause if it's vital nor can windows

[Q] My diamond has extra "+" icons in "Programs" tab.

First, I would like to begin by saying I have tried searching on both Google, and using the forum search provided here. If I missed something, please lead me in the right direction.
I have an HTC Touch Diamond in Canada from Telus. I have had it for about a month, and I must admit, it's beautiful! Anyways, I was flipping over to my Programs tab, and decided I was going to add a program to one of the tabs. I flicked up, and up came the next 9 "+" icons. (total of 18 icons, correct?). So I add the application to the icon, and it returns me to the programs tab. I scroll down, and what's this? I have an extra "+" tab (Total of 19 now). Each time after adding an application, another appears. Now, you might think this could be cool, and useful, but first off, you can't add any program shortcuts to these extra "+" icons... if you click on them, it comes up with the Add Program thing, and if you click on it, it returns to the program's tab, without the program. Secondly, they cannot be removed. If you delete one of the Program shortcuts that you added, the extra one does not be removed. It just stays there, and its quite annoying.
After playing around with the TouchFlo 3d for some time, it seemed to fix itself for a little bit, but as soon as I tried to add a shortcut, they added themselves again. A soft reset does not solve, and I really don't want to do a hard reset. I have .NET framework 3.5 installed, and I have installed a few applications (only after reading reviews, mostly coming from these forums, other than google maps). I have ROM version: 1.06.661.1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Hind1

Easy fix. You need to delete a few registry keys.
Goto HKLM-->software-->HTC-->Manilla-->ProgramLauncher
You should only have number 0-17 (total 18). Delete anything greater than that e.g. 18, 19 etc.
Thanks for the quick reply!!
Worked perfectly. Awesome.
Thanks,
Hind1
Glad that's sorted my friend.
What a lot of people would want to know though, is there a way to actually add the extra icons and use them? It seems by editing the registry you can add as many as you want, but it seems to be impossible to use them. Being able to have more programs on this tab would be very useful!
Hmm... I never thought of that!
I'm sure it wouldn't be all that hard... I am not really a wiz with windows mobile, as I just picked this phone up about a month ago (my first windows mobile device owned), so I probably won't be able to figure it out, but if there's anybody who wants to try, that would be awesome!

Samsung's Milk Music app for our Galaxy Tab 7.7?

EDIT!
I download the apk from the link below. No root needed! Works ok. App is a little blurry, guessing it was made for the smaller phone screen.
But hey, FREE MUSIC and no ads. Sweet! Love the "Dial" where we can switch music on the fly. Using it with my car's bluetooth connection.

yeah it works fine, thank you.
I saw a module related to this player in xposed, I think it helps those that can not run it. if you had any problems, maybe that will help you.
With the recent updates to Soundcloud angering me, and Pandora and other similar apps just not as appealing to me, I'm glad to see that there is a version out there for my 7.0 tab 3. I'm going to give this a shot after I finish jailbreaking my 5s (attempting a 7.1.2 update). Now the debate will continue... Samsung Tablet, Digital Camera... should I go for the phone or stick with iFruit... time will tell I guess this October.
Works with no root?
I have an HTC One and I downloaded the app and it installed but when I open the app it says device not supported. Am I missing something or was the "no-root" misadvertised. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question Ringtones, "More" button not working ?

Hi All,
Just a quick one, not really had chance to look into this one, as had my nephews with me all day... so not had chance to read up on it. But within the phone's own Settings, under Sound, Ringtones....
Other than the 3x ringtones it comes with (only 3x ???) When I tap on the 4th button "More..." it simply does NOTHING...?? lol

Am I missing something, do I have to supply my own MP3 ringtones here in a folder or summit for that button to work...?? lol
None of the blue buttons do anything at all, might as well not put them there and stick to just 3x naff tones... lol
Cheers, Lister
Hi All,
Well it's a kid free house now, nephews have gone home and I've had chance to have another look at the "Sound & Vibration" aka, Ringtones on this phone....
... and I can honestly say, its blooming dreadful, woeful.... what the heck are Xiaomi on here??
Only providing 3x ringtones?? lol. And then if you click More, in fact if you click any of the blue buttons, it does bugger all. Can't even add your own ones. I've read up, I've copied them into the MIUI folder, and I've copied them into native Android folders, and nothing is picked up...
The default ones are useless, my brother tried ringing 4x times over the weekend, I only heard one of the calls as the ringtone itself has a silence section, and doesn't appear to play from the start at each call. It plays where ever it left off, so if its a silent part of the ringtone, good luck hearing it in ambient noise...
Whilst I am mainly happy with this phone, there are some area's that Xiaomi really need to focus on....
Cheers, Lister
That's odd, I have a large selection of ringtones and was able to use my usual mp3 ringtone with no issues at all.
Hi BobHumphrey,
(Edit, there should of been a video capture with this post, but it didnt upload... will do it again when back)
Yeah I thought it was odd, as I am sure others would of reported this if it was more wide spread.... the fact it only came with 3x ringtones??? lol
However I can't seem to add me own either...
I've added it to the MIUI folder, as advised in another website post... and I've chucked some in the standard Android folders too, but the Ringtones section doesn't seem to find them....??
Sorry for quick post, gotta nip out... but will update this more when get back.
Thanks, Lister
I went into sound and vibration > notifications> more> choose local ringtone and then picked file using the file manager.
Hi All,
Apologies, I was out all last night... I tried uploading the video here a couple of times this morning, but it kept failing with some witty error codes on this website. So I've uploaded it to another site and linked here.
Here is what is happening when I try and select additional Ringtones/Alarms/Notifications and where they are currently stored on my phone.... as per recommended location via another website with the MIUI folder..
https://gofile.io/d/W95i7h
Cheers, Lister
Well that's irritating!
