tomtom 7 on all htc, but what about map

i see on piratebay that tomtom 7 is for download, but does any1 got the maps for it? the voices i think R the same, can any1 confirm? my diamond is at repair

i bought tomtom6 by 6 months ago and im woundering if the 6 maps works on tomtom 7? didnt U get the question?

I guess they don't work.......

tomtom 7 and 6 maps they do work
according to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401619 it will work. shall give it a try when my diamond is back from repair.

About maps still don't know....

Does anybody know on which devices tt7 will run (when it will ever officially released)? Especially will it run on HTC Hermes?

I tested with 675.1409 italy maps....but he ask me serial number....

On my Diamond the Software works, but i can only download one city map.-->that one works fine..my TT7 Western Europe map ive downloaded for TT7 doesnt work...it said its not valid...
anyone knows how to validate this map?!

how long is it taking to get GPS signal the first time?
Mine is just sitting there waiting for signal.
EDIT: didn't find it for 5 mins.. resarted TT7 found it in less than 30 seconds!

took me 7 minutes for the first fix even with the quickgps file downloaded.
it also does not show satellites but have a fix.
so far do not know if you are better of choosing the internal gps or other nmea device with 9600 and com4

Also does activating a-gps work ok with tt7?
Also can someone recommend a good voice? I'm having to download them one by one, and i;m not even sure where its putting them

If its not finding your 6.75 map, edit CurrentMap.dat in notepad to point to your 6.75 maps and it works fine

Just drag and drop Tomtom folder from the internal memory to the "storage"....
It works for Tomtom v6....

Satnav on HTC Diamond

What is the best satnav software to have on HTC Diamond? I noticed that my Compaq IV has Co Pilot pre-installed (trial version), but I've always been using TomTom on my Vario II. I've noticed a lot of people tend to be installing on TomTom on the Diamond.
I spent about 5 hours yesterday trying to install TomTom v7 with GB maps but was not able to get the maps to show. I also checked several different walkthroughs how to install TomTom 7 to no avail.
So if anybody can help me on how I can get TomTom or if CoPilot is also recommended, how I can get this working fully?

I tried several different location each with their own walkthrough and it seems like it always works for others but theres always the few who just can't get the damn thing to work. I'm normally ok with stuff like this, i've got tomtom on my HTC tytn but now I have the Htc Diamond (compact iv) I would of liked to install version 7 of tomtom with working GB maps, with a straightish walkthrough of how to do this. Any help m8 or a pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.

I think i'm at the last hurdle to get tomtom 7 to see TTN_7.450.9028 which I hope is the maps for GB.
Any help would be greatly appreciate so I don't have to go into my second night of 3 hrs sleep

If everything succeeds, the patcher should return an "OK" message.
8) Now copy the new file *.meta.dct from this folder to the folder of your map on the storage card

I tried TomTom6, TT7, iGo, iGo8 & Navigon.
TT is stupid.
iGo8 is nice & fast but has absolute wrong speed infos, whyever.
MN6.5 is still the best choice for Europe.

In a most respectfull way I will tell you this .. I have purchased tomtom for mobile and it works great on the diamond ... The problems you describe are due to copy protection .. If you insist on using priated cracked or keygened softwares , that is tottaly your choice and to be honest there are many valid reasons for using it .. however this fourm is particulary strict on not talking about things such as that .. so due to the forum rules you will have to go elsewhere for this kind of help ... I will however say that a quick search in the torrents will definatly help you .. I have had personal experince with the more reputable providers out there and can say it definatly matters where you get your info from .. if you get a build with the instructions Wilsas has already provided and it has the required exe keygen .. and you follow exactly what it says .. you will have no issues
if you do require further help , two options .. buy it , as anyone who gets good value out of anything should ... or if you are just testing it for usablity , you can install one free map upon install on your tomtom .. .. .. if you need the UK maps working .. well im me and we can take it off line

i am using destinator 7 on diamond without any problem!

Consider "Garmin Mobile XT" as an alternative for the Diamond. Alas, due to the lack of an sd slot, you will need a keymaker even if you own it legally, but imho Garmins software makes most of the other options out there look like jokes.

I just got the Western Europe map installed and it is just excellent.
My XDA Diamond is double worth its value due to TT7 being pre-installed...
No problems whatsoever... just fun...

Finally got tomtom sorted on the htc diamond, but is it just me or does it not look as good as the previous version (which I have on my vario 2) ? On the diamond tomtom looks a bit cramped up with all the info at the bottom when your driving, on the vario it's very clear. Not moaning about it as I do like the fact the new version tell you what road your currently on. Now all I have to do is work out how to transfer my favorites should be fun NT

Ok i had wrong: you have to unzip the file, it's not a cab but a rar files ...
Inside of you have a cab of tomtom which installed IN the phone memory and NOT into the storage ...
And what about the autorun.exe?
I don't know ....

What device did you state that you were purchasing the maps for when buying the maps form the Tomtom shop?
I downloaded TT 7.910 via TTHome 2.5 without problem and installed a sample map. This is working fine, so i'm ready to purchase a map, but am unsure which device option to specify and indeed, whether it makes any difference as its a map only.

TOM TOM iInstall on the Diamond

I am sorry if this has been answered before, but I have tried to search for an answer to this but not found any.
I've attempted to install TOMTOM 5 on my Diamond with no success and any help would be much appreciated.
I have the disc and the path is D:\disc1\tomtom-navigator-5-Benelux\setup. When I run the install, the dreaded message 'TomTom Setup Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience' is displayed.
I copied the whole disc1 folder to the internal storage on my diamond but all the files were read only. Where am I going wrong??!!??

If you want to install tomtom at your phone then you need a .cab file just do a search at this forum and you will find one the only thing is that its a tomtom 7. and I don't believe it will run the maps of tomtom 5 but whit a good search in Google or somewhere else you maid find aswell the right maps.

A .cab file is used to install applications on Windows Mobile devices. Only TomTom 7 or later will work with the Diamond as no earlier versions worked with the inbuilt GPS receiver.

Before I used TT7.9 I had TT6.30 running on my MDA IV, getting a fix was horrible thought, but after that TT6.30 worked just fine...

Is that the reason I can't get the maps to work on the Diamond I picked up on Friday
Strange as the TT version I have, 5.1, worked great on the internal one on the SPVm700 I just moved away from.
My issue is how to get TT to read the maps. Once I've installed the cab files on the device I can't get them to read the maps on the internal storage. If I try and install the cab files on the internal I can't get TT to fire.
Really don't know where to go next - and dn't want to go back to teh m700 when traveling.

i think its the location on where you're maps should be placed. On my diamond, the map files are located on the ROOT of the internal storage. Thats the only way it seems for it to be found. So it should be place in : Mobile Device\Internal Storage.

GPS Navigation program

Which GPS navigation program is compatible with the LG P990 ?
Sygic Aura that I used isn't at the moment ( seems not to recognize the Tegra 2 hardware).
Is there any comparable app that works ?

Personally I'm absolutely fine with Google Maps. But if I'm in foreign countries I use navigon, which should work with the 2x quite fine.

igo 8.4.2 works good

im checking out igo and navigon at the moment

I can't get Igo 8.4.2 working.
I'm getting the message: " Application is unable to start, please check other applications." and then "Please insert your SD card containing iGO content files".
I put all the files (except the *.apk file) in a "iGO my Way" folder on the external SD-card. In the folder I have 3 subfolders: content, license and scheme.
In the content folder there are the following subfolders:
building, car, dem, dictionaries, lang, map, poi, scheme, speedcam and texture.
Do I have to place some folders elsewhere ?

I changed the name of the folder to "iGO" and copied everything to the internal SD.
Igo starts (in full screen now). Then it asks to set up the language. When I click "Next" the program quits.

Despite all my efforts,I can't get iGO my Way 4.8.2 working.

Going to get Optimus 2x and want to use iGO my Way 4.8.2 as well.
What was the problem? And what did you do to solve the problem?

Tried both navigon and igo, both work fine. Navigon is the winner though
had igo for ages on my dell axim x51v but navigon seems to have nicer animations. will give them another go on a longer ride to Belgium this weekend.

Yes, Navigon and iGO work fine. So are Copilot Live and apparently also Sygic Mobile Maps 10.
What do you mean with "animations" on Navigon ?
I think that I made a few mistakes on installing iGO.
1) It doesn't matter if you install it on the internal or external SD-card.
2) You need the 800x480 apk file though.
3) The content and license folder must be placed in a iGO folder.
4) The content folder contains the map folder (with only the basemap in it) and empty dem, building and poi folder. The lang, voice and car folder may be complete. You can add the necessary files to the map, building and poi folders after the installation.
That's it. So it worked for me.

I meant for instance, when taking an highway exit, the way it is displayed is very nice, also I have the feeling the compass is used by navigon and not by igo, but i might be mistaking.
Additionally I might be missing some content for the igo, example I dont have the poi it seems, also only have like 3 3d vehicles
Navigon seems more responsive....
Again I need to do some further testing befor i stick to 1 of them...

Yes it's weired ... I have been searching for a while now with no luck.
Anybody from Iceland (with driver license) reading this post?

I think I found somewhere on my harddisk a map from Iceland.
It's named isl.pak and I think it's for use with Sygic Mobile Maps 10 (or Sygic Aura but that program doesn't work yet on the Optimus2x).
Is this the file you are looking for ?
