No sound from earpiece when calling

Hi there
I've been having a few problems with TomTom and BTCoreIf.dll.
Since the last install - I had to re-do it because the Alpine reset itself following backup battery failure.
Anyway, since I did that, there is no sound from the earpiece, I can't hear a ringing tone or anything.
The actual phone's sound is OK, the applications are all making the sounds they should, including TomTom.
When I use the Bluespoon headset I have, I can hear a ringing tone through it.
I'm wondering if I have a file missing on it. Plus holding down the green phone key when I try and make a call doesn't bring up the speakerphone utlilty like it used to.
Any and all comments appreciated.

Mobile phones don't have dial tones, unless you have a Jitterbug phone. You are hearing some other tone, or maybe the sound you are hearing is a byproduct of some part of the phone. For example, on the older model Motorola V3's the EL keypad backlight would emit a low volume tone when lit. Does your "dial tone" stop when the backlight dims or shuts off when in a call? If so then you are hearing the backlight. Most people can't hear it because it is above the range of normal human hearing.
If it is the backlight you are hearing you cannot increase the sound. It is what it is.

props for knowledge of the jitterbug.

If turning the volume wheel does not do it then there is no way I know of.

not just 'a bit silent' then?
no it is realy silent .jou can hear it but if you hold your phone 20-30cm from you ,you cant hear it .
also when putting it on speaker you cant hear it.(because then you are more than 30 cm from your phone.)
when the pickup the sound is fine and loud.
I have the same probleme with my blackstone and its very annoying. if there is some noise you cant heard dial tone when you call someone.

[Q] Remove End Call Beep !

Hi,
Maybe some newbie question, but i didn't find any answer that works for the Xperia SP.
I would like to :
- remove the beep when ending a call. Especially really annoying in my car with BT. The sound brokes my ear everytime, i can't stand it anymore.
- understand how to manage phone sound level while in BT in my car.
Let me explain for the last query.
I didn't have all that issues with my former Nokia N8, in fact it's like the phone uses the last volume level setting I make, for my car. If I watched a video and put the volume to 100%, then even if i mute my phone, in my car the volume will be at 100%. I can also say that it updates all volumes in my phone too. Like the call volume level will be 100%. This is really annoying. With my Nokia N8, if i enjoyed a song at 8am and put high level, it did not change the volume level for incoming call. But with the Xperia SP, it is.
Whatsoever, the BT sounds are too high everytime, especially calling tonality, and end call beep.
How to remove them ?
Thanks.

In-call Volume all of a sudden dropped to lowest, cannot increase again

Hello All,
I am in desperate need of help. Yesterday whilst in a business call my in-call volume all of a sudden dropped so that i could barley hear the person on the other end of the line. the volumes were all set to make and I had to end up going to a quite room and using the loud speaker to ever hear a thing.
I know there are similar posts, but none have solutions for this problem yet. I have contacted sony but they say there is nothing i can unless I update to lollipop. As i am on a business trip, I cannot update my phone manually as I would lose everything. All other sounds are fine, notifications, alarms, ringtone. it is only the in call volume.
the phone is rooted with locked boot loader if this helps in any way
Any help is much appreciated
