Sprint users (myself included), get ready, for the HTC Touch Diamond is coming!
I just hope it will be easy to remove the Sprint customizations on TouchFlo 3D

Yeah the FCC just week just passed a CDMA version of Touch Pro, which may go for Spring and maybe even VZW latter on.

Any news on 6.1 officially from HTC or O2?

Now that MS has officially released 6.1 and said that O2 is going to be a partner (along with many others) how long before we see an official release for the XDA Atmos or any other Wings device?
The official windows mobile team blog and the microsoft announcment say that we don't get an official upgrade vom htc. I am really annoyed about this, as the HTC S730 is never than the TYTN2 and has the same performance problems . But the TYTN2 gets an upgrade.
this is unbelievable
I don't think that is a very complete list, it makes no mention of the European operators which the press release does. I would hold off until they give us a full list. Also there is nothing stopping O2 or Orange doing their own roms even if HTC don't.
T-mobile and HTC not in good terms regarding support for the Wing.
After having spent days, not hours, with T-mobile tech dpt., trying to fix both my coworker's and my own Wing for several issues, I've be-friended several techs in T-mobile and HTC, and they have confirmed that on their agreement, T-mobile trying to save some bucks (millions) for support incident calls to HTC, refused technical support provided by HTC to T-mobile Wing devices.
Better luck calling HTC with your T-mobile Wing device issues and requesting updates for WM 6.1 !!!!

I bought HTC S730 not too long ago. I'm reasonably happy with it except that it hasn't got enough ram and is sometimes sluggish. When I bought it I knew an update to Windows Mobile was coming. And I was highly sure HTC will provide an update to this freshly new device based on that new WM thing. Now, though, I'm sarting to doubt that they will release any ROM at all. In that case I will not trust HTC anymore and I will buy a smartphone from other manufacturer (in ODM level). Maybe they're already developing their new smartphone (with that diagonally scrolling out thing they have patented recently) and are forgetting that people are actually still buying this phone!! They would better do something about this!
I m in the same boat here, waiting the WM 6.1 update for the S730, if HTC dont put out the update, I never buy another HTC phone. Support is everything, and the S730 is not a cheap smartphone! hello HTC we are waiting news!

Diamond Carrier Questions

Hey guys. I've noticed that there are a lot of questions spread out on this forum, as well as many other sites, about what carrier's the Diamond can be used with as of now, myself included. That is where this little thread comes in.
So, where exactly can the Diamond be used. I know Telus just picked up a CDMA version in Canada. Can it be used for Alltel or Verizon? What about the GSM versions. Can they be used for AT&T?
I have Alltel/Verizon. I do know for a fact now, that the Diamond will be released to us in October, but I would like to pick one up now if possible.
Shed a little light on the subject for us.
Thanx Fellas!!!

HTC Touch

Can anyone confirm if the HTC Touch Pro or HTC Touch Diamond from sprint will work with the Diamond android port? I keep seeing comments about it only working with gsm... More specifically with gsm on sprint - sprint offers the cdma versions of these phones..
anyone.. can anyone tell me if they have been able to successfully use the cdma htc touch pro (from sprint).. I gotta do this soon and I'm gonna be bummed if i can't run android

Do Topaz ROMs work for the Verizion Worldwide Imagio (TD2) Device

I have an HTC Imagio which is the verizion version of the Touch Diamond 2. It is a worldwide phone so it is capable of GSM and CDMA networks.
So will the the plethora of ROMs for the Topaz on this website work for it?
The imagio isn't the cdma version of the touch diamond 2 lol.
It's a different phone based of the touch hd and pro 2.
Do not try flashing a topaz rom, you will just brick your phone..if the flashing program will even let you flahs it
never never ever flash a cdma phone with gsm roms or vice versa.
Imagio not diamond2.
Surprising untrue. Sprint will be releasing it as the touch diamond2. Weird, yes. Confusing, yes. Unnecessary, maybe.

On paper they look similar. But one is GSM, the other is CDMA/GSM.
Also, the touch diamond uses the MSM7200A processor, the imagio MSM7600.
And the imagio has a 400mAh bigger battery.
Dont flash between devices. If they are the same, there wont be a seperate forum for Whitestone.

HTC X8T (Sprint) Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help

Okay so yesterday my dream phone came out on sprint network the HTC X8T I really like this phone a lot. to my understanding the HTC X8T Is a lot like the HTC ONE with boom sound and front faceing spekers. but yet running windows phone 8. so I am very interested In this phone.
but yet I have a lot of questions.
1. is there an unlocked version of the phone I can buy?
2. is sprint the only ones selling this device?
3. could this device be used on boost mobile instead of sprint.
4. what are the chances of a boost version?
5.why is there not new fourm for this new device?
That should be a good start thanks.
1. Unlocked version: Maybe. Sprint uses CDMA2000, rather than GSM, although they might use SIM cards for LTE support like Verizon does (I haven't checked) typically, CDMA2000 phones won't work on other networks unless those other networks also use CDMA, and sometimes not then (because they're locked). I don't know yet whether the 8XT will be available unlocked in general, or available for GSM.
2. Sprint only seller: So far as I know, yes. If there's a GSM variant, you'll be able to buy it internationally. If not, then they will probably be the only one this side of China or something. I'd expect a GSM variant, but I don't know.
3. Use on Boost: See the answer to #1.
4. Boost version: I doubt anybody here knows. You should ask Boost Mobile about that.
5. New forum: Many WP8 devices don't have their own forums. Until such time as custom ROMs or similar are possible, one WP8 device is much like another, so there isn't usually enough traffic to justify per-phone forums.
By the way, the 8XT looks somewhat liike the One, and has the same speakers, but its specs are considerably worse. Its screen is lower resolution, and I believe it's processor is much less powerful.
HTC has not announced a version or variant of this phone for anyone except Sprint, so for now, we can only assume its a Sprint only device and does not come unlocked. Considering that Sprint is CDMA, it wouldn't be wise to purchase a Sprint branded phone to use on other networks as it will most likely not work. Boost has been known to activate Sprint phones on their service, but its very hit or miss as you need to speak directly with a customer service rep, and that itself is difficult. XD

You only need to look at the radio specs for the phone. I knew it was for Sprint a full week before the tech i was on the phone with did and she was Tier 2 support with 'upcoming training for some new WP8 device' but didnt know what the hardware was.
It runs on the 1xRTT network, so wont even work on VZW. Also given that Sprint is (or at least used to be) an HTC Premier Partner its no surprise they made a phone that only Sprint would carry. Its smack in the middle of the 8X and 8S but what sucks is we are stuck with Touch Pro2/Arrive resolution on a screen thats nearly 33% bigger (4.3" vs 3.7"). Will i get one? Im still on the fence as my TP2 still does the job for me, even without native apps for Twitter or games.
