HTC Diamond Style 6-Button Comm Manager (Updated 6/2)

Found a version that didn't work on the net. Replaced Comm Manager files with ones from AT&T 3.53 ROM. Combined it with registry settings from Schap's 6-Button Comm Manager.
You should be able to modify the buttons with Schap's tool. Images for the following buttons are in the cab:
3G
AUTD
Bluetooth
DataDisconnection
FlightMode
Phone
Vibrate
WLAN
Make sure that Comm Manager is not running when you install this one. Check your Task Manager (thanks NFRCER!). Works Great! Enjoy!
Edit: [HTCDiamond CommManager (Updated).cab ]Updated! Left old images so you can see the difference.
- Changed default items in Comm Manager.
- Made a new 3G icon.
- Made Ringer icon for when Vibrate is off.
Edit: [HTCDiamond CommManager (6-6-2008).cab] Updated again!
- Bigger font
- No more blank space on top.

When I try to install this it gives me the error:
"The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."
I have never seen this before. Any reason why?

that is because you have comm manager open.
try soft resetting and install it.

Thank you very much....... I had installed many Diamond Comm Manager in the past few days, all of them worked fine on my Touch but failed to sync with my PC. Your version is GOOD and Working FINE with ActiveSync without any error............ Thanks again, indeed.

How Can I uinstal this? Please help

just go to remove programs and uninstall it. I know uninstall is possible because I installed and uninstalled several versions before I posted this final working version.

I uninstall from RemovePrograme already but my Comm Manager skin can not comeback to the HTC skin....

I took a look at this and this issue doesn't seem to be a bug. With the other buttons such as phone, wifi, 3G and flightmode the default action when you hit the button is to turn each feature off. Vibrate on the other hand does not turn off. When you change any button to vibrate and hit that button it turns on ringer. For this reason it stays on because the function is to either have vibrate on or ringer on. What we are missing is the icon for the ringer. I installed Schap's 6-button Comm Manager and I get the same result. I'll update this thread once I find the ringer icon. Please let me know if anyone else finds one first.
Edit: I made a quick icon for ringer. Anyone that's using "Vibrate" as one of the comm manager functions just right click and save "Function_Ringer.png" and copy the file to "\Windows" of your WinMo device. Anyone with better photoshop skills, please post an icon for Vibrate\Ringer.

You can use pretty much any background, but you will have to play with the font color. You will need to replace 2 files.
P_BG.png - portrait image, 240x268
L_BG.png - landscape image, 320x268
If you only replace these files I think it would not look very nice. I'm not that great with photoshop, but if anyone else would like to take a shot at it all the images are attached.
On another note this thread is for "Diamond Comm Manager". Using other images would just make it modded comm manager and I do believe there are several other threads with custom comm managers that are different colors.

It will not work,
When I press Wi-Fi I get a short animation but nothing happens, if I enable wireless Lan in settings menu (as you can see in the topbar) it is not switching too.

if you have a cab of a comm manager that works for you that would help me fix the diamond for you. It should be a pretty easy fix. Anyways, try this one. 3rd times a charm, right?

Startmenu items not displayed?!?

Hi,
I was playing a little bit around with my new Diamond (installing apps, tweaks with advanced config, ...) and since the last soft-reset I only see a black panel, when I open the startmenu, but when I press somewhere inside this panel the items are shown, but the item under the position I've pressed is imediatly excecuted!
Is there a way to get the items back without formating the device?

if so, a new version has been made, what might fix your problem

I've updated SecondToday but the Startmenu is still away...
I think I will do a comlete clean of the phone to remove all of my "tests" in the last days...

The same happened to me when I enabled the Startmenu animation.

The same to me - Just disable the Startmenu-animation in Advanced Config, Softreset and the Menu is back again...

I have that same issue with the black start menu. I solved it.. Just disable the ''Large Start menu'' in settings.
Just know which programs will conflict with the OS.
I have wisbar conflicting with Marschall Wait Cursor by showing no taskbar sometimes. So i dont use MWC

It was the "Animate Menu"-Setting at mine to...

some tweaks will mess up the phones functions, make sure its a supported cab
if not just hard reset and should be fine again

Manila 2D + PhoneAlarm simultaneously

before i install a rom with Manila... Is this possible?
I really like PhoneAlarm becauase of all its advanced features (profiles, Activesync settings, ringtones, reminder sms settings,...)
But i dont use the buttons on the today screen, BUT phonealarm needs to be activated as a today plugin to work...

Not sure about manila compatability but there is an invisble skin for PhoneAlarm on their site so you can have it run but not see it on your home screen.

Battery Icon messed up

Hi guys,
I've search for this issue and I couldn't seem to get the right response so I'm left with no choice but to post this. I just reset my MDA Vario III by clicking "clear storage" via "settings/system". Installed some of the cab files:
S2SU (with Poorlyduck's diamond theme)
Diamond Keyboard(BJK HTC EzInout)
Poorlyduck's black dialer
HTC Customizer
File Explorer Ext.
Kidnamedalbert's Diamond Audio
Tomtom 6
and now my battery icon will not change accordingly/properly(i.e: when plugged via USB/charging) Now I can't tell whether if its full or needs to be charge without having to click at the battery icon.

I'm having the same problem. I just reinstalled eOS Final Refresh along with a ton of cabs (pretty much all from the extended apps) and I noticed it this morning when I took it off the charger and I got to work, the phone still said charging. I rebooted it and the battery icon is now displaying the battery as it properly should. I then plugged it into computer, and the icon still shows the regular battery icon and not the "charging" icon. On both mess up occurrences, I can click on the actual battery icon and it will show the actual status.

Edit -> My battery icon is doing the same thing too. I checked it 5 minutes ago and it showed full, but I clicked on the icon and it was 49%. Annoying and I hope I can get it fixed soon!

My ROM is created with the following goals:

Forgot to mention that.
It's Manila 2.1 so it has to be WM Messaging. Work is being done to build in the HTC Messaging client.

that's ok. wm messaging is way better!

Any chance of a build with Opera 9.7 instead of 9.5. Please keep WM Messaging app. (The htc one does not do folders and allow to move to folders)

You can use windows/manilafix.exe to sort this.

Bluetooth from comm manager does not function correctly
Windows big icon task bar does not work
On homepage, the taskmanager icon is displayed over the top clock on the top right
When clicking on the task manager icon, it displays the open programs - when clicking on it again, it closes the display, waits 2 seconds, then re-opens the list
The Location Settings does not display correctly when opened from the weather tab - works ok from the settings screen
Weather animation is not working - this is not the latest manila 2.1W version
The countries in the location search in time and weather show in french,not english
Right soft key on Home Page is "Power Off" - why!? I could just long press the power button for this!
All the ringtones are included and could be removed to save space

"Message Sent" is not disabled for SMS
The "Send" icon is missing from SMS

MMS is not working. I am going to have to move on as this ROM has too many issues.

Message sent is enabled intentionally I've had to many times an SMS wasn't sent so I enabled it.
The Send icon is indeed missing, but when you hit the blank button it will sent the SMS/e-mail. This seems to be a Windows 6.5.1 thing though as I had it on all other builds as well (I know, this should stop me in fixing it

flashed rom, here are some points:
- missing HTC task manager
- When Manila is reloaded, it doesn't allign with the screen - still occurs, there is no windows/manilafix.exe, only ManilaFixPosit....exe but this won't fix the issue
- Office Mobile folder is empty, i think it can be deleted as there is Office Mobile 2010
- when writing SMS, button to send is empty, there is only gray square
- what about to add some apps, e.g.: PIM Backup, tcmd etc.
but i must say i like to rom, is really fast and smooth!

One thing on my todo list is re-arranging the start menu indeed, which involves removing the office folder.
