CAn I buy HTC Victor in Hong KOng? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi to all!
CAn I buy HTC Victor in Hong KOng?
Or for now available in Taiwan only????

Anybody knows?

Have anybody any info?

Why do you want the Victor anyway?
The hardware inside is exactly the same as Diamond. Nothing different whatsoever except for the outside casing.
Personally, I prefer the Diamond casing. It looks slicker.
Now, from what I understand (mostly read on magazine articles) the Victor is only going to be sold in Taiwan, at least for now...
But I know HK very well, and I'm almost 100% certain that you will be able to find the Victor in some back street shops. They are most likely going to be imports from Taiwan, so, they probably have a Chinese ROM.
But that shouldn't be a problem for you, cause you can always flash some other ROM.

Thanx bro!
I now, Victor=Diamond, but I more prefer soft-touch housing in P3702
My brotehr will be 9-10/08 in Hong Kong and try to find this model

If it's for sale in HKG you can find it at Fortress Mong Kok or Mong Kok computer center or Wan Chai computer center and so on. Fortress is probably best because of warranty claims. Price may differ but not so much.

Thanx bro! My brother try to find it for me

UK: Grey or Not Grey

I'm getting really confused by the responses from distributors and people on this forum. Correct me if I'm wrong:
a) Expansys are selling Grey imports which do not contain the software fix?
b) The official release date is the 16th June? 19th June? 9th June? 23rd June? (depending on what site you go on)
c) if above is correct why are some sites saying they are getting a stock in on the 12th (originally 9th)
d) How do you know you have a grey? Obviously the manuals etc will be in english.
e) Is the software fix available to correct the issue if you have a Grey?
I'm sure I'm not the only person thinking this in the UK
See if HTC let you register your serial. If not, then its probably grey.
If you didn't get your device in HK, or direct from HTC, then its pretty likely its a grey
Well I've ordered mine from TotalPDA. They have informed me that they are getting them in stock on the 11th June. Depending on the release date this could mean its a grey
I doubt it, why would they risk all the bad press after seeing the reaction eXpansys have got?
I'm going to drop an email to them and see what I get back. I'll post anything I receive
it will depends on where you live, Expansys has offices around the world, and they sell the offical hong kong version both english and chinese, if you get the english hong kong version, it's the same as any english version you buy, you will see it labelled WWE which is world wide english, the only differences is, you don't get the official warranty, and HTC will not give you support.

So do these 'grey' imports come with UK power plugs or some adapter?
And are they factoy sealed when you get them?

If Expansys were labelling it as HK sourced, as they often do for other products, that would be fair enough - people would know what they're buying. But they're not - the top of their product page prominently claims it to be "version: UK, GPS". No doubt by the time they're forced to change it they well have sold all the stock at the vastly inflated price. To me that looks like deliberate deception, further supported by the deletion of the original grey import thread on their forum, and locking of other threads on the subject. They have also refuse to answer whether the warranty is for 1 or 2 years (as offered with some EU HTC models). Highly unethical in my book.

sorry
my apologies, I didn't see that, and you are right. if it stated uk, it's false advertisement, and it's right for everyone to attack on them.

hk uses the same three pin square plug as the UK, it's the legal requirement.

I just got mine HTC Touch Diamond from eXpansys.
I just got mine HTC Touch Diamond from eXpansys.
HTC Is not registering my product online.
It is WWE version but that’s for ROM only.
The s/n and the origin country for the hardware is not accepted from HTC for the product registration.
So, this is what eXpansys is telling me.
Sticky: Warranty on the DiamondThe units are WWE and have full manufacturers warranty, eXpansys will handle any warranty repairs on your behalf as eXpansys would with any other HTC device.

As far as I understand this is what Expansys is offering to me.
- If something goes wrong with the device Expansys will replace the device but they will covering the European transportation costs.
Have in mind that I am from Macedonia.
- I will have to send them directly to their specified address.
- I wont be able to get the support from the HTC listed European authorized services.
- And no rom official updates. They will be posted in their forum.
Somebody confirmed that with HTC here -> (eXpansys deleted forum thread here.)

Then you are from Greece my friend because Macedonia is a province of Greece unless you are from F.Y.R.O.M. Please lets keep the international conventions in country names in the forum.
P.s I dont think Alexander the Great was speaking Slavic unless he had Tito as teacher instead of Aristotelis!!!
And iam from Greece of course as many other members in this forum.

How to identify a grey import

Hey everyone,
My bro in Hungary found a diamond for about 200 euro cheaper, but only with 1 year warranty, but I think it's a grey import from Hong Kong, like we've seen from Expansys..
I wanted to ask you, if there is a way to know if a diamond is a grey import or not. Versions, IPL, SPL numbers or anything..
Furthermore, what do you lose buying one of these phones? In terms of support, warranty by HTC, functionality and device quality?
Thanks in advance
Just beware of replica from Hong Kong or China made, I've seen lots of them.. but not yet for Diamond.

frm india AND NEED THE DIAMOND2 BADLY PLS HELP

hi frm india and i wanna get the diamond2 but its not gonna be released here for a long time so planning to get it from some other country
SO PLS TELL ME WHICH COUNTRY WOULD BE THE BEST OPTION
Europe!
I think there won't be any serious differences between the European countries...
But think of Germany, because we are the "Export-Champions".
The Touch Diamond 2 will hit the German market (ca.) at the 17th April and will cost about 450€.
take a look:

It works out cheaper to buy from the UK, if you can find someone that does international shipping. The Euro is too strong compared to the pound at the moment to make ordering from the rest of Europe worthwhile.
i too am from mumbai india abnd needed the diamond could some1 let me know when is it expected in india and if i buy it from europe will i still be able to use all features prefer buying it from here though
dude, just get it from Clove UK. they have very good ratings..

yes but will all features of a european diamond work and also during a rom update will u update it as india update or uk update since the radio and connectivity will be different
not 100% sure, but the specs of the euro diamond should essentially be the same as the ones you will get in india..check out the specs, only difference between euro and us version are the wcdma bands and as far as i know india does not have proper 3g connections yet, so why bother?
as far as updates are concerned, u will get the standard update..there is no uk/india update unless your phone is tied to a network. u can go ahead and buy the d2.
I am from India too.. i am planning to buy D2 from Clove.
But what about the excise/customs charges? How much do we have to pay to import the D2?
I think now it's 35% for personal electronic goods (Previously blanket 200%). But never know these corrupt ppl anyways. Not much personal experience.
Also Express shipping DHL are always checked unlike ordinary post which may skip thru. Also for gift items they might consider waiver (upto 10$/INR 500 worth) but not for such costly items. Never misstate the contents as it may get confiscated in addition to getting U into serious legal trouble.

Hong Kong HTC One LTE in UK?

Hey,
I've come across a pretty cheap HTC One in Hong Kong during my holiday, they are selling it for just over 800USD. Will LTE still work in the UK (where I live) if I get the Hong Kong version?
To my knowledge, the radio frequency in HK should be similar if not the same to the ones in UK.
http://goo.gl/QXKfu
The image above shows that the asian version having pretty much all the bandwidths as the UK one. Will the missing 1 bandwidth affect me?
Cheers,
big_me
EE is using 1800MHz, so it should be fine. You'll likely have to pay for HTCs worldwide warranty though, which is probably about 30 quid if you need to claim from the UK, and may mean it takes longer to fix.
Where did you see it?
EE is 1800mhz, what is three (Hutchinson) ?
and I saw it in this sketch mall called 'Sinciere Podium'.

Three don't have LTE yet, but they bought a bunch if 800MHz spectrum, so they'll probably use that.
youll be missing out alot without 800mhz
Cheers guys,
Guess i'll just wait till i get back to the UK then.

when you said 800USD was it american dollars or hong kong dollars?
Well it was 4980hkd which is roughly 800us dollars.
Thought I'd put the US equivalent since the majority of people on xda seem to prefer USD...
