Unable to flash - P3600 Software Upgrading

Hi,
I've recently upgraded to the latest radio ROM, no problems there (but it did cause a hard-reset). Now I'm trying to flash FInixNOver's latest ROM. The problem: I run ROMUpdateUtility, the device enteres bootloader mode and... nothing! No flashing, no errors, no nothing. The upgrade fails and I'm stuck in bootloader mode. The weird thing is... soft reset works and I can boot the (already installed) ROM just fine.
Any ideas...?
Thanks!

In which phase are you stuck? some bootloaders leave my trinity with the screen with the colored bands, and then refuse to continue. I launch them again (with some anxiety) and everything continues correctly. I had this probably 20 times and never a problem - but i don't understand why. It is probably a timing matter....

I'm stuck in the three-colour screen. A soft reset boots up the device properly, but it does not flash. However, I've successfully managed to flash by using the SD card method.

i always get stuck, as i was saying, in the three color screen. The windows bootloader complains it cannot continue, i simply relaunch the windows bootloader without doing anything on the trinity. Actually, i doubt it has some relation with the bepe's kitchen, since it didn't happen with NetDrg french rom....but i have exactly the same problem with the present (great) tnyynt roms...good anyway you had solved your problem somehow. it also could depend on the Hard-SPL version you are using.

Yeah, I thought the SPL could be the cause.
However, knowing that the SD card method works is reassuring.
Thanks.

my hard-spl comes from olipro:

Regards,

I had the exact same issue, i re-installed my Olipro Hard SPL v3.2 (if you are running a 3600i be sure to get the specific version).
Tried flash once again, all was fine!

Other thought, it has happened to me, when it is in the bootloader, tri-colour, just run the upgrade again. i had that with some ROMs.

I tried that many times, it didn't work.
Thanks for the reply, though.

'No GSM' after numerous radio version flashes

I tripped over my usb cable while flashing an official orange rom + radio version a few months ago, and bricked my trinity. Left it on a shelf for ages & decided to try to revive it a few days ago.
The problem was that the thing kept hanging after the splash screen, all the backlights would go on and it would hang. I managed to splxploit it to get hardspl back on there (olipro 1.3) & successfully flashed a few OS roms from here but it still hung on the (now different) splash screen. Realised that the 'No GSM' thing was a killer, so tried reflashing a few radio versions, and that worked fine as far as the flash was concerned through USB / HSPL.
However, it still says 'No GSM' and hangs at boot. Any ideas? I've run all the tasks from mtty with spl-1.30lipro, the CID shows the HTC SuperCID(hex) etc successfuly, and it formats the OS portion successfuly. Task 2a, like with others, just returns a new prompt after a second or so.
I've got radio 1.56.70.11 on there apparently. It still says 'No GSM', although this goes away a lot quicker now, whereas before it would hang with that on the screen...
Help?? Should I throw it in the bin?
Thanks a lot, any help is much appreciated...
Nik
you've killed the radio BL in that case, bad timing on your part, sadly it's unrecoverable.
the only fix is desoldering the radio chip and soldering a new one in.
Have you tried whith the version 1.20? The version 1.30 gives some trouble flashing the radio
same problem...no way for me in this moment!
do you solve?
flash with hard-spl 1.20 ou crash'n'proof... then try again... it works with me

Definately, don't throw it away. It's still worth $$$. A lot of people can use it for parts if you don't get it working. Offer it up for sale on here if that's the case.

HELP - ROM not booting

Hi to everyone.
It's the first time I write here (Got my X1i since last week), but I'm no novice. I've had several HTCs: S200, Touch XL, P3600, Diamond... And I have ever seen nothing like this happing to anyone.
I have a problem installing a ROM (This one: http://www.htcspain.com/roms-xperia...xperia-x1-r3a-m3d-y-ligth-espanol-t20108.html). And when I say I, I mean only I. Absolutely everyone else can install it normally, what I cannot get done on my device.
I have tried everything: Installing it with the RUU, with the MicroSD method(Through bootloader), installing it from two different PCs, installing it from both Windows XP and Vista... Making Soft resets and Hard Resets after and before installing it... Reinstalling the HardSPL... Everything I could think of.
But, whatever I do, it ALWAYS freezes after the SE initial logo. Always. I've waited for more than an hour (But, as I thought, is not the problem of the time it takes booting for the first time), but it definitely doesn't load.
Of course, if I get back to any other ROM, it loads as every ROM loads, no problems... So I really can't realize what's going wrong with my Xperia.
So now I'm asking for your help... Any ideas why it doesn't boot only in my device? What could it be?
Thanks to all who's read this .
It may be that your device is CID locked...I would hard spl it and try again....

What on earth am I doing wrong when flashing?? *SOLVED!*

Hi, first of all let me begin by saying that I have spent a long time reading around through the guides and forums about flashing rom/radio to my Rohdium but still face problems. I have successfully flash my old TyTN II and Orange E650 but am at a loss as to why Im struggling this time round!
I flashed the Hard SPL which went 'fairly' smoothly, got there in the end after having problems on WIndows 7 64bit and then succeeded using Xp 32. However when trying to flash a new rom and/or radio I am greeted with an error, that being Error 284. I have tried like I say on Win7 64, Xp32 and when the error pops up my phone gets stuck on the process bar and forced to pull battery out. I then put it back in and it freezes on bootloader. The RUU software trys to recover but it is a loop of the same thing happening (attempts and then crashes). The only way to get out of this mess was strangely reflashing HardSPL which recovers it and allows me to boot to Windows. I have tried flashing a radio and/or rom whilst in sync within windows, I have tried flashing when manually forcing the phone to enter bootloader, I even paid the £10 to get the unlocker which would patch the special radio but that even returns the same error. I have the sim card out and storage card, battery charged over 50%. I even tried the Mtty program (sorry if mispelled, at work now and can't fully remember name!) when it was stuck at bootloader and using the "boot" command it boots as far as Touch Pro 2 logo but then doesn't progress, then i resorted to reflashing HardSPL which allowed me to boot properly. I just don't know what else to try!
Like I said Im sorry if this is obvious to someone but I have tried alot!
Many thanks in advance if someone could help!
* Update: Just tried flashing a radio on my works computer (XP 32) and it flashed no problem!? Wonder why my operating systems had an issue?
** SOLVED! ** - got home and randomly tried again on Win7 64 without using my USB extension cable and plugged into a different USB port directly and it worked! Faulty cable maybe, bad luck, who knows, it works!
Thanks.
Sound like maybe your RUU/update utility may have gotten corrupted. I would try to re-download the rom you want to flash over to your home pc again and try to re-flash.
If that doesn't work, you can always flash your rom through the storage card.
hmmm yea thats possible, will try when I get back in couple of hours thanks! Just seemed weird how nothing was working, different roms (cooked roms or shipped roms) and even the security/sim unlocker that I purchased......mystery!
USB cable tends to go bad easily! That might be the reasion why!

Enter bootloader, although it's obviously bricked?

Hello there,
I messed up my just acquired used HTC Breeze. Isn't too bad, as it wasn't so expensive and it had SIM lock anyway. So hadn't I done anything, then I wouldn't have been able to used it as well.
My question: The info 2 - command returned "HTCSF kEØ(HTCE", so as far as I understand the bootloader has been bricked. But why can I still get to the three-color-screen? I always thought, this is only possible, if the bootloader is not bricked. I'm very sure I read about that regarding a HTC Canary.Or isn't that the case anymore with never devices?
In case anyone's interested, the whole story:
I tried the Hermes unlocker-method, but couldn't get it to work. The first problem was, that SSPL didn't work, because my phone was app-locked. Well removing the app-lock wasn't that hard.
I eventually managed to find out, how exactly this SSPL-stuff works. However, I still couldn't use the Hermes-unlocker. Flashing with SD-card wouldn't work - and using the RUU would only cause the phone to reboot, hence leaving the SPPL and being stuck with the normal bootloader, which wasn't unlocked (sorry if that sounded too untechnical - you probably know, what I mean).
So my last hope was the thread "Application UNLOCK/SSPL/HARDSPL" . First I upgraded to SPL 1.09 (might have been a bad choice, as I didn't think it through). Phone would still work then. Then I tried RUU_MTeoR_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_HTCEUR_SHIP , which is where I probably broke my bootloader, as it wouldn't start the OS after successfully flashing. (although it was IPL 1.00 and SPL 1.09, if I remember correctly).
Then I flashed RUU_BREE100_1.13.251.2_1.06.00.10_QtekEUR_Ship_R3 via SD-Card, cause it's said to have SPL 2.05. With that I wanted to do the final step in the said posting - flashing hardspl, so that I'd get SPL 7.77 anytime, without SSPL. I thought, the Hermes unlocker might work then. Only it was a dead end. After flashing to RUU_BREE100_1.13.251.2_1.06.00.10_QtekEUR_Ship_R3, I couldn't get anything to work anymore. And now I'm stuck with IPL 0.90 and SPL 1.09. End of the Story
If you can see three color screen (bootloader) that's mean it's ok Try flash with shipped ROM from the bootloader mode. I can upload it to you, but I have to know your device brand (CID lock)...

Not loading Rom, going to hardSPL

When i turn my phone on it doesn't go to the splash screen, it instead goes to the hardSPL screen, and will then reinstall my rom if i let it. Even after i do that it still goes to the hardSPL. The only thing that made it boot normally was removing the battery leaving it for a while but then when i restarted it went back into loading hardSPL.
Any ideas for what i could do to fix this?
I dont know what Rom i am running, its currently not booting.. but i am running hardSPL 3.29
I am reinstalling the rom using the microSD card.
If you can help at all, much appriciated!!!

Try reinstalling a stock Kaiser rom
I tried that, and nothing. It is still going straight to hard SPL. and draining the onboard chips no longer works.. Any more ideas??
When you are in bootloader, try to install the stock rom not with the sd card method. I think your problem relies in flashing through your card and everytime you boot..it takes you to hardslp.
Nope..
The RUU doesnt recognise there is any image on the phone, even just after installing its stock one.
Can i update HardSPL somehow?

Oh, and even when my SD card is removed, it still goes to hardSPL. If that changes anything...

Well, that's what I pointed you...but did you try to flash with the sd card removed?
Yeah, sorry that i didnt make that clear. i flashed with the RUU available with the stock rom, but no success.

Try different stock roms since I read that you don't even know which rom are U running.
I tried various other stock roms, some 6.0 and some 6.1, and all to no avail.
What I notice is that when I run the update program, there is no previous image version each time. I therefore think that the boot loader isnt being told there is any rom to run, and is therefore just running HardSPL. (apologies for the incorrect terminology and/or understanding of how it works)
To clasify exactly how I am installing these roms, I have downloaded them and running the straight .exe, not extracting out the Rom Update Utility (RUU) and the .nbh file from the .exe file. My phone doesnt have a SD card in it. Each time I run the RUU, it runs through as normal, aside from displaying no previous image number. When my phone restarts at the end of the update, it goes straight back to the tricolour HardSPL screen, and the RUU ignorantly tells me the update was a success.

I have a similar problem, i RUU the image but it doesn't actually flash the phone memory. If you look carefully to what's reported on the LCD during flash, i bet the "-" charachter besides the various items to be flashed (IPL, BOOTLOADER, GSM, SPLASH, EXTROM, OS if i remember correctly) doesn't turn to an "OK" to all items. That means the flashing process is not ended and so no image is actually flashed on the phone even if it seems to be. That's why a previous image number isn't displayed.
My phone has a standard SPL and is still bricked, but yours has HSPL flashed. You can try using Frankenkaiser, i hope it could help.
Good luck
Bye
Sweet! got it working through using the spl avalible here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420683
