HELP!! BA Storage Card - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Good Day XDA devs!! I have a BA aka XDA IIs wherein I use a 256mb SD Card. Every time I flash a new ROM, I copy the extended ROM in my SD Card. Since my SD card is quite short of storage space, I erased the other folders in my SD card to accommodate space. My problem starts when every time I'm done with my installation, the unit resets itself right...??? then after when I access my storage card, everything and I mean everything (the folders that I deleted) comes back to life!
How can I possibly "STOP" the storage card from "autoload" the folders that I have already deleted...
I tried doing a hard reset (power + record + reset) following the format NO, YES, YES. The 3rd entry states "format the storage card" to still "NO AVAIL"

Huh? Format Storage Card? or just Format Storage?
If you mean the SD card, If you need to format it go use a card reader.
The Format Storage Option in the bootloader is for the OS Storage, it's where your OS and other programs are located, you cant really format it empty. Otherwise, you'll have a bricked unit... Err... considering the bootloader is beyond the BA Storage Allocation, we are safe.
Check
for the "Storage"
Settings->System->Memory->Main
for the "Storage Card"
Settings->System->Memory->Storage Card

programs not saving to sd card but to phone

for some reason everytime i install programs it installs to my phone and not my sd card. when i run the cab it gives me the option storage card or phone and i select storage card, but it seems as if its still saving to my phone. any idea? my phones out of memory=(
Sometimes there's a folder called "Storage Card" in the phone and the system misses itself.
Or maybe you have problems with your SD card (do a search here about "SD corrupted" and read about it)
If you're experiencing problems always with this, you'ld better have to hard-reset.
Or you may try to modify the registry "by hand" using Total Commander or similar and tell that "storage card" is the card and not any folder.
Could you tell us what ROM are you using, and which is your memory / SD / etc. status ? (screen accessible via settings/system/memory) And how many apps are you installing there ?
basically my memory is reading the following:
from the storage card(2gb):
0.287gb used
1.610gb free
from my phone
122.5mb used
0.00mb free
i'm running abu's v10 ultimate with the 1.65.21.18 radio. its not the suggested but it hasn't given me any problems yet. its just this saving thinig that's been a problem. all of my ringtones and pictures go to the storage card so i don't understand why my CABS aren't. all i know is my phone keeps telling me critical memory. sheit.
how do i set it so that it saves in the storage card on total commander?
You got too much snizzle on your device, i'd recommed getting everything off via active sync/WMDC and performing a hard-reset start fresh back up your SD card and give a fat32 format with computer.
Then you'll be back on a roll with a fresh device
so i did the hard reset, but do i needa reformat my sd card too? its already as a fa32. so everything should be fine now? =)

SKTools is an excellent tool with many features. You can move apps from RAM to storage card. There is a trial version on their site: http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?sktools/m_feat.html

Completely wiping internal SD and starting afresh?

I searched but couldn't find an answer.
When I did "wipe data/cache" through Recovery, I thought that it would format the internal SD, but it doesn't.
Rather than me just deleting everything in the SD from Windows, is there any other automated way?
Thanks.
I think you could just unmount the internal sd and format it from the phone settings before flashing...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Remember this will remove everything from the phone, all aps, data, system settings etc.
I would format the internal SD memory through the Settings > SD card and phone storage > Unmount Internal SD Card and then format SD Card.
Turn off the phone.
Remove the SIM and External SD card then flash with a new firmware. Ensure you click repartition.
After flash, format again the internal memory if you wish.
Switch off and insert your SIM then start again. Enter your google account details to enable the Market again then download the aps.
Wish you luck with it.

So this will work right?
Your last sentence has made me a bit uneasy.
Yes it will work.
If you don't wish to flash the firmware just do the format of the internal SD memory as previously described.
I would format the internal SD memory through the Settings > SD card and phone storage > Unmount Internal SD Card and then format SD Card.

using this code will do what you want

my phone has been ****ty lately, loading programs slowly, even when there's only one program running, music playback freezes, etc.
i'm thinking of formatting it and starting over, is this a good thing? How can i back up my contacts before formatting?
****
this is not a good thing
if you choose to copy your contacts, the phone only ****ing copies some google contacts bull****. so it copied all the email addresses i already have, but didn't copy a single ****ing phone #.
now i have to fiddle with the stupid thing to get all my settings ideal, manually enter all my contacts by emailing people and asking for their # then figure out why my screen dims and undims every few seconds. plus it won't even let me change the wallpaper

[Q] Going to bone stock.

How does one wipe out the internal SD card? Odin 1 click does not do it.. Going into privacy/factory rest does not do it either.
Last night I did a 1 click and factory reset and when I attached the phone to my pc and mounted the internal SD, there were still lots of directories with data in them from past application installs.
Thanks
Go to settings, then the SD card and phone storage menu. Find the internal SD card section, select unmount SD card, then format SD card. Once its done it auto mounts back to the phone again.

Changing partition table ?

Hello Guys !
The internal SD card partition is ****ed up and it shows as "unmounted".
I tried a lot of things, including connecting the phone to computer and formating the damn internal storage, but when i plug the USB cable, the phone says that don't have SD card and don't allow full access or Mass Storage.
I tried some programs and file explorers who claimed that can format partitions. No one of them did works.
I tried from the settings of the device to format the internal storage, but i can't change or touch anything, because it shows the internal storage as "unmounted".
I flash it to the stock rom but in the process of flashing, it don't even touch anything in the partition table and after the flashing, the internal SD card is still "unmounted".
Is there any program, tool, way to repartition the partition table on the device ?
I have searched for that in google and i didn't find anything of that sort for Xperia X8.
My other phone, LG Optimus 2X for example, it have AIO toolkit and from there i can change his partition table as i want.
I doubt in that i can't do the same on Xperia X8.
What can i do in this case ?
By "Internal SD card partition" do you mean the Data partition?
Yes.
Are you sure? Does your phone boot? Are you able to install apps?
I mean... that partition where the other data like music, videos, files for apps are stored in there or the partition that file managers sees.
And now this partition is broken and unmounted. The phone show stupid errors everywhere, of the type of "Put your SD card to make photos" or "No SD card" in every app that store data...Now i can't do nothing, i can't even transfer one song and set it as default rington.
But the phone starts up successfully and i have no problem with installing apps from the old "Android Market".
Then that would be your Externel MicroSD Card. If you take the back cover off your phone it should be in the top right corner.
Try taking it out and using an MicroSD card adapter to connect it to your pc and format it.
Or use an app called "AParted" from the Play Store to format your MicroSD Card(Root access required).
No. The phone don't have inserted SD card. I am talking about the "internal SD card". As far as i know, the partition that the file managers sees is the partition left for free data storage, and that is not the whole memory, there is another partition that is hidden and is for the system files for android.
So, the phone boots up and "works" but i need to make repartitioning, but i don't know how to do it on this phone and what is the procedure if there is a way.

The phone has 2 main partitions one is System(For OS related files and folders) and the other one is Data(For Apps and App Data), No File Manager can see whats in them(Unless you have Root Access). The only thing that would be visible to your File Manager would be whats in your MicroSD Card. If you don't have a MicroSD Card you will not be able to save any pictures or videos or any thing like that(Just like any other Android Phone with a MicroSD Card Slot)
So, this phone uses the whole internal memory for the system ? And its required to put a microSD card to be able to use the phone ?
All my android phones has a partition for free storage and i am suprised of that i can't storage anything without SD card.
This Phone only has 250MB of Internal Storage and it uses about 128MB for System. That leaves you with around 122MB to install Apps. The Phone is 100% Usable without a MicroSD Card, the only thing you will not be able to do is Save any type of External File(Video. Audio, ect.)

Storage on PC marshmallow - why I can't see the sum of internal and external?

I made my SD to internal
When I connect my phone to PC, I can only see the internal memory.
How could I see the SD or the sum of both storages
This happen to me in all ROMs with marshmallow.
Are you sure you are seeing the internal memory? When you format your SD Card as internal and you connect it to the PC you should see only the SD card. It works this way, you lose access to your internal memory. Try rebooting to see if it works, this happened to me some times.
I tried everything, but in which ROM are you?
Have the same problem. Upgraded to CM13, formatted SD as internal and now I only see the internal storage via USB/MTG. In settings/storage & USB I see both storages (8/3GB and 32/31 GB total/free), but neither on a Mac nor Windows I see the SD storage, only the smaller internal. Kinda bad, because there is not much space left on my internal and I can't copy music, pictures, files onto my phone.
Edit: Latest nightly ROM

I tried that storage option earlier, I think, if I remember well, you have to move your files to the SD card, through the 3 dot menu at storage settings, then it will set the SD card as your main storage. Hope it helps
Sorry for my english

Yeah, this did the trick. Moving to SD and reboot now gives me the full space.
