Okey, so RUU is not enough?

No, it isn't. RUU is more like a "base" for flashing a rom or a radio. HardSpl is something different.

Removing Hard-SPL?

Once your unit had Hard-SPL how do I return it back to original SPL? Browsed thru all the threads including the original Hard-SPL thread but there seems to be no clear instructions.
Thanks.

You'll need to get an official ROM and flash it. (official ROMs contain the shipped SPL as well as the OS)
I already have the official 2.27 unlocked ROM. I tried to reflash it but still the SPL stays the same. Do I need to do something before flashing the official ROM?

Thank you for reply. I tried your suggestion but it did not work on my Treo. It was not restored to the original bootloader.

When I flash the offical ROM. It did not remove hardSPL. I also tried using the Recovery software. that didn't seem to remove the hard-SPL either. it is not a major problem at the moment for me. but I like to know how to remove HardSPL. (Incase I need to send it back for service.)

no you should flash another rom... you might flash hard spl as well because your device's CID may stuck you in your current language

No. After flashing Hard-SPL, and THEN flashing a WWE ROM, you will have English language.

now my one english version
still the same step ...flash Hard spl install new rom then become chinese and english ?
very complicated ...
I dont really understand what Hard-SPL does. Seen ppl write about it but im not sure what it does EXACTLY. I thought when you flash something, it would format the thing first.
I cant just flash with the official english 1.93 rom without complications and other stuff like the hard-spl?

The forum is full of guide which explain the flashing process.
A device is CID(country id) locked means that only one regional Rom can be flashed to it.
so to flash any rom ( which does not match the phone's CID or any cooked room) you should flash Hard Spl which will skip security checks and makes your device CID locked.
So i recommend 1.93 WWE. to flash it, you should flash Hard Spl. and then flash the Rom.
Thank you, i understand now.

Hi, do you have installed the correct drivers??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524619
cheer dude, but i think i've sorted it. USB cable was connected through the hub, so pluged it in directly, voila! it worked lol..
Sorry for double post, bit noobish question.
so it shows my SP is 1.14.0000
what am is suppose to do next? use USPL or HSPL?
And what rom? first 1.56?
it's just way too confusing, well at least for me

You can use USPL or HSPL. USPL will change your stock SPL only for a moment, so you can't be worry about warranty.
HSPL will change SPL and replace it. You can also restore stock SPL and delete HSPL from device before you give back device to the service.
but can i use any desired rom straight away? if so, why do i need to know what my spl is?

if you have stock ROM now and you want to change it to e. g. Miri 6.5 v25 ROM which is 1.56 based, you must first install official 1.56 ROM which replace youcy stock SPL to 1.56. Second you can flash it with USPL or HSPL to get e. g. Miri ROM.

Ah i understand, first of all i need new official rom, which is 1.56 and then i can use basically any desired rom. Does flashing 1.56 rom means i'm gonna loose warranty on my phone?

you can get 1.56 ROM on official HTC Website- you You'll not lose the guarantee
but
Every unofficial ROM from XDA it's the loss of the guarantee, but you can restore stock ROM and go to service...

dnload and install hspl 1.56 olinex from the tutorial thread..
no need to update to official rom... jus a waste of tim..
if u dont want hspl then dnload 1.54 stock from the same thread and flash it.
use uspl nex tim onwards to flash new roms.
updatin to officials is a waste of time..
that's exactly what i'm doing right now. Downloading 1.54 update and then will install it and put on dutty'r extreme i think it's called. Is that correct procedure?
Talking about 1.56, what i ment is that i've downloaded updated and it wouldn't install. So guess will have to do it through the bootloader. Am i correct?
Last think i want is to damage my "gem" lol..;-)

well to dnload the update u need a serial number..
nd u always can flash from bootloader as it is the safest way.
the best advise i can give u is install hspl 1.56 olinex..
this is because in future if nethin goes wrong wid ur usb port u still can flash stock rom and spl.
if u use uspl it will not be possible...
and in any case fr warranty purposes also ull change spl from 1.54 to 1.14.
so why not 1.56.olinex to 1.14.
involves the same steps rite!!

Can I flash Radio after HardSPL?

topic... thanks
If you are trying to flash the new Danger SPL by hykuro used in the hero roms then yes. U will want to install RADIO FIRST then the Danger SPL. If u do it the other way around then u are screwed and u will end up with a paper weight...

Doesn't matter as long as it's the HARDSPL.
DangerSPL is a different story.
o ok... thanks a lot. That clarifies my doubt, because I always not sure whether the RADIO first then SPL procedure is applicable to all kind of SPL or just Danger SPL...
thanks again

[Q] Can I flash Custom ROMs only with RSPL (NOT HSPL) on my HTC HD7?

My question is very simple. If I can (with RSPL), after flashed a Custom Rom, what bootloader will I have?
You can flash a custom ROM with rspl, but after reboot you will have spl again. RSPL is temporary, HSPL is permanent.

Thanks for the answer, but if I have SPL version 4.x, and I flash a Custom Rom, (with RSPL I mean), after flashing I still have version 4.x? Or which version?

you can't currently XSPL with OSPL 4.xx.
you would need to downgrade OSPL, first.
then, you could RSPL.

I have the latest HTC HD7 Mango ROM (with Internet Sharing and OSPL 5.10) so can I directly flash a NoDo (or Pre NoDo) ROM to downgrade OSPL (to install late RSPL)? Or not?

yes, one could flash a Custom ROM only with RSPL.
but, atm, RSPL can only be done with OSPL's 3.xx, 2.xx, and 1.xx.
