Microsoft Voice Command V1.6.19971 - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

I noticed that in the Diamond forum Dutty has embedded MSVC 1.6.19971 into his ROM.
Any ideas where I can find the installation CAB for this?

I'm using MSVC_US_PPC_1.6.19214 which is working fine. You can find this in one of the threads in Kaiser but I believe it was taken down for an unknown reason (the thread still exists but the first 5 message and topic title was deleted). The title was something like "The Definitive Guide to MSVC". You can still get it in google cache though

We removed the MSVC cab because it is a retail sold program, YES it was put into some official ROMs but after a LONG debate we decided to not allow it in cooked ROMs etc... just such a grey area we didnt want M$ finding another reason to have a go at xda-devs.

i had a feeling it will be taken out eventually, curiously though i was thinking why the guy was banned

MS Voice Command 1.6 German
Hello Guys ...
I read much about MS VC 1.6 cause Cyberon Voice Speed Dial
doesn´t work well in German - and would like to test it now.
Could someone please provide a download link?!
Thanks!

Have you read post #3? MSVC is a retail sold program, if you want it please buy it.

Hey guys, on my fuze with the at&t rom, MSVC was included, now that i've upgraded to romeos rom and it's not included on his rom! i know that you guys are saying its a pay program, but i paid for it when i bought the fuze (as its included in the price).... and i really dont wanna pay for it again...

Does MSVC integrate and work with the fuze over bluetooth? I know that it needed several mods to work with both the 8525 and the Tilt.
Thanks

it worked perfectly with the at&t rom without any mods at all. and actually after i posted, i realized that i still had the copy that i had download from this site for my tilt. i installed it and it works perfectly once again

Does it announce incoming calls over the bluetooth headset? I can't get it to do that. My Tilt did it just fine and I have the Fuze VC set up exactly the same way as my Tilt, but all I get is my ringtone and no announcement.
Any ideas?

I'm sure this is a dumb question but did you double-check the settings? (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> [Highlight Phone] -> Options -> Announce Incoming calls) and (Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command -> Notifications Button)

Yes. I wish it were that easy. As I said, all parameters are set up exactly like my Tilt which worked perfectly. With the Fuze, I only get my ringtone. Now, I know that the Fuze has a newer version of VC, so I may try to downgrade to the version that is on my Tilt.

I'm wondering the same thing. Stock Fuze had MSVC, and I flashed to the Elite ROM, and would like MSVC back. Is there any way to flash my Fuze back to stock rom, and pull the cab file out of it??

Unless you can tell me otherwise, the one that comes with the FUZE is defective. Partly... A few of us can't get it to say the incoming caller name or number. All you hear is a bell sound. I've gotten everything else to work like dialing from the headset, even where it says I have an appointment on my BT headset. Just for the announcement of whos calling doesnt work.

Do you have to have the handsset connect to juse VOice C`?

I pulled VC 1.6.19971 out of the AT&T Fuze ROM and included it in my personal ROM and I was able to enable "Announce incoming calls".
On my Nokia BH-501 headset, it begins to announce the call, but gets cut off by the built in headset ringtone. (I only use this stereo headset for music)
On my Oakley Razrwire it works just fine. With 'announce' turned off, the headset uses it's normal built-in ringtone. With 'announce' turned on, I get the VM announcement with my WM ringtone playing in the background (it opens an audio stream from the phone). I use this headset while driving, so it's all good.

Well well... depends on your MSVC-version. 1.6.4622 DOES NOT announce any incoming call regardless of the setting.
1.6.17913 does, 19209, 19213, 19214 does...
By the way: the ultimate FAQ was named The Definitive Guide for Microsoft Voice Command - I posted a backup in another thread.
anyhow, does anyone know the advantages of 1.6.19971 ? Does it report anonymous callers correctly (which none of the above does?)
And why is it that anyone wants to use newer versions without even knowing changes? Maybe it's a beta version, maybe it's buggy... but it's a newer release... using legal german retail (bought it) .4622 with 19209 exe for announcing reasons. Works brilliant on raphael.
But maybe someone knows a list of changes or fixes, advantages or disadvantages in 19971?

BT activating Microsoft Voice rather than Voice Dialer

Just upgraded from the Blue Angel to Cingular's 8125 Wizard and I'm like a kid on his birthday. I especially like being able to initiate a phone call from my HS850 BT. Curious if someone has the registry settings to point to Microsoft Voice rather than Voice Dialer.
Thanks in advance!

Now you should be able to activate Micrsoft Voice Command by pressing the connect button on your bluetooth headset.
Thank you SO much! Works flawlessly. Curious if anyone prefers the Smart Dialer rather MS Voice? It works so nice, even though sometimes it sounds like it's on helium....
Thanks again!

Oh yes... I sure would love to use my BT headset as well!!
So I changed the default value for the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path" from "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" to "\Programme\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe" (I am using a german device) but it doesnt work. Anybody got this trick working on a Qtek 9000?
Thanks in advance!

where can I get a really chaep copy of voice command?
I tried this too and I can't get it work right. The BT button doesn't call voicecommand consistantly, and when it does, the synth speech from VC doesn't come through via the BT headset. Meaning If I say "Call Tony" I won't be able to hear VC's reply of "on Mobile or Home". This is annoying. I'm using US T-mo MDA Vario. Perhaps the path or the name isn't consistant across the board?
As for the person who got music to play through BT: is it stereo? How did you make that work? Why does that has to do with VC?

Did you also run the Registry Wizard tweak "Enable Bluetooth Receive". This is what allows the headset to receive the incoming sound from the Pocket PC. Also on my phone I have to tap my Bluetooth headset twice, but it is consisitent, and I can tell the Voice Command beep from the other tone.
Hi guys.
Looks like you need the right Bluetooth profile for this hack.
I first tried it with my old Sony Headset (HBH-30) using a "Headset" profile. I could use it for regular phone calls, but I was unable to place a call using Microsoft Voice Command. After this, I tried a Plantronics Bluetooth headset ("M2500 Mobile Headset") and this one came up with a profile called "free speech mechanism" ("Freisprechen" on my german device). This profile works like a charm; I only have to press and hold the call-button for a moment and MS Voice Command comes up.
The only frustrating thing is that the device has to be in "pda mode" to place a call using voice command. If I fold up my Qtekk 9000, it doesn't work; but at least I can use the headset in the car now.
Hope this helps
Amen
On my Cingular 8125 I didn't create any BT profile for Motorolla HS850. Typically I press the button 1 or 3 times slowly then I hear the VC response. With the 2.8.7.102 ROM the VC sounded like Tiny Tim but with this 2.16.9.101 it sounds like it's susposed to.

Status of VoiceDialing (normal and BT) in WM5

Couple of questions about voice-dialing in WM5.
I purchased MS Voice Command 1.5 and loved it on 2003SE, but:
1) Does it work with the latest WM5 ROMs?
2) Is there a way to initiate a command from a BT headset?
Not concerning MS VC:
3) What other options are available, and what are the best?
Thanks!
1. At the moment MS Voice Command 1.5 does not work in the new WM5 AKU ROMs (at least it didn't last time I tried!!)
Once you install the app it runs once then states there's been an error and refuses to run again!
2. Within WM2003SE if you have the A2DP profile set with your headset (assuming it's stereo?) then you can initiate a call/command via BT, I used it quite a bit...
3. Alternatives are the following:
Cyberon Voice Dialler (I don't like this as you have to record all the voice tags as there is no speech recognition engine.
VITO Voice2Go/VITO VoiceDialler (I liked this in its previous incarnation but haven't tried the new version with 2K3 or WM5)
If you search the forum for Voice Command you'll find plenty of threads about getting these apps working, and working with BT...
Thanks for the response. I'll search the forums and see if there is anything else that I can find.
FYI, I just have a headset that supports handsfree (Jabra JX 10).
I love cyberion voice commander just becaues it doesn't make all the voicetags itself. I think this is why the device is called a pda with the P for Personal, everyone his/her own opinion.
Since english is not my native language and voicecommander always want to make it sound as english it's not good for me.
And suggsjc i love your signature "If the world didn't suck, we would all fall off..." . I borrowed it several times now to friends of mine, interpreting it as a positive thought
Well I guess to each their own. I (P)ersonally liked it having all of the tags created for me. I could find a contact that I rarely used (and wouldn't have created a tag for) with just using voice commands. But having the choice is a good thing.
Despite the glitches with some software in WM5, overall I am very pleased. Much nicer and more refined than 2003SE.
Glad to hear that my sig is popular

WM6 Voice Dial from Bluetooth Working!

After messing around with numerous reg tweaks etc to try and get my headset button to initiate Voice Dial I could not get it to work, in fact I recked my install of WM6 in the end. So yesterday I did a complete re install of WM6 (Orwell Edition) And set everything up the way I like it.
Then I installed the latest MS Voice Dial 1.6 and BOING it WORKS!!!
No reg hacks needed. This is the first time ever I have got my headset to work with MS Voice Dial
Now my life is complete! This was the last little annoyance I had with WM6.
I am happy to say this is with out a doubt the best rom I have ever used.
Jules
Whahahahaha OK i found one bug. And I laughed so hard I almost fell of my chair!
I press the headset button and say "What Calls Have I Missed?"
Wizard Replies "2 Million Six hundred Thousand and sixty eight missed calls!"
Wow but Im one popular guy huh
Jules
Edit
On the next missed call request all seem fine again "You have no missed calls" hmmm gues no one loves me afterall :-(
I have tried reinstalling the cab file and, although it works, it actually causes problems with the SIP! Following the re-installation of voice command, changing the SIP takes for ever! Does anybody have a better solution or a solution for the SIP delay after the CAB Installation? Thanks
I just checked and there is a delay, I only use Resco Keyboard as my SIP so this is not an issue for me. Hope someone finds a solution for you though
Jules
Here is something really wierd! :S Installing the cab solves the BT activation problem but causes the SIP change to be dead slow. I then proceeded and exported all registry entries. Hard reset the machine and import the registry entries previously exported and copied the VC files into C\program files. Soft reset and BT works and also SIP change is as fast as without VC! :S Can anyone explain this?
I would like somebody to cook wwe crossbow rom without Microsoft Voice Command because it's not licensed.

Native WM6 Voip client?

All,
I was wondering if the built in WM6 Voip client can be activated or be put in if it does not yet exist in the WM6 builds.....
Currently I use Fring for my Voip calls, but I would really like to use the built in client for better native support.
Other WM Voip clients are also welcome....
Cheers,
HJ

Hi Mrabie,
Are you still using VOIP? Please confirm if it used the standard dial pad and if it also uses the front speaker?
Cheers!
There's nothing for the Kaiser that uses the front speaker yet.
Do we know what this is? I assume you mean Voice Over IP (WM6 Built in) currently uses the loud speaker.
One would assume the normal phone speaker could be used (since my old Hermes could).

Great!
I have loaded the 2 cabs and have made some minor progress.
If i reboot the Tytn II is says connected for a moment then it goes to 'searching'. This is over the home wifi network.
When i first loaded the cabs and tried to initiate a call, it did show my voip provider in the dial pad, but now i cant replicate that to test it actually works.
What should i do?
Cheers
Edit: it now says 'available' om the today screen, but i cant get it to dial out using the voip connection. Note that i have not set up dial plans yet. but i think i have made good progress so far!

tap on the name , it needs to show as "selected".
let us know if it works for you.
I can only receive calls.
interestingly, nothing ever arrive on the voip server when i try to make a call; i run my own voip server (asterisk) , and no packet ever make it to the server from the windows mobile device...
warning, numbers must be numeric only, no + or # etc...
Do you mean to select it from the 'Today screen'
If that is what you mean, then when i click on it it takes me to the phone settings tab for internet calling.
Mind you, in that tab it states:
Internet Calling
To set the calling network for your next call, select BBPglobal (my Voip account) on the Today screen.
options: whenever available
Only if cellular is not available
Never
I have it set to whenever available and have also enabled GRS/GSM calls as per SIP config 2.01.
Whilst it now always shows that it is available, i dont see how else i can select it.
if you move the cursor in the today screen to go on the voip plugin, press OK (the button, not using the touch screen) you can change the status to "selected"
Forgot to add: your SIP server must support g711 (ulaw or alaw) codec... none of the low-bandwidth codec work

I move the today screen curser to highlight the voip plugin, but nothing happens when i hit OK or press the big silver button in the middle.
Regarding the SIP server sip2.BBPglobal.com does support g711. Well i was thinking that the phone simply makes a connection to the wireless router (Asus WL500gP running DD-WRT v23sp2) and that would be it. I could be wrong but i think this way simply because i replicated the SIP settings from my ATA (Linksys SPA2102).
Plus i would imaging that when using the VOIP over 3G that it connects with the same settings from the SipConfigTool1.02
Have i missed the boat somehow?
can you tell us which version of WM6VOIP.cab you are using - as in my version the sound comes out of the loudspeaker instead of the earspeaker?
any suggestions?
Would be also interresting for me.
I've tested 3 Types of VOIP software.
- Fring => Comes out of the loudspeaker
- Pocket Talk => Comes out of the loudspeaker
- Prop. WM6 => Could not connect.
Kind Regards
Seppl
I can use Fring/X-lite but the sound comes through the speaker. The WM6 native client can logon but not make any calls (same message as the poster above). I think I can receive calls though (but I have not tried).

Hi,
the first link is about Hermes?! I tried it, but it creates two today plugin...why?!
Is it possible that on the latest Kaiser native ROM some parts of WM&VoIP.CAP is already installed even if there is no Internet Tab under Pgone Settings?
Second: I had universal befor and a cooked rom, and when I clicked on the today plugin I could select or unselect voip for calling. With this cab instead, if I click on the today plugin, I enter into Start->Settings->Phone->Internet.
Third: I looked at ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Kaiser/VoIP/ and there is a SleuthKaiserVoIP.cab...what is it?? Maybe the WM6VoIP.cab versio for Kaiser?

How many versions are there?
Codec ???
What codecs are supported by the built in VOIP? Maybe the issue of not able to make a call could be codec related like in any other VOIP softwares.

MS Voice Command instead of Cyberon Voice Commander for AT&T Tilt with Alex's ROM?

MS Voice Command instead of Cyberon Voice Commander for AT&T Tilt with Alex's ROM?
Hi -
I have an AT&T Tilt, unlocked thanks to jocky, and running Alex's ROM (v5.HTC.181).
I'd like to replace the Cyberon Voice Commander which is in Alex's ROM with Microsoft Voice Command.
I *think* that the AT&T Tilt, by default, did have Microsoft Voice Command on it, which suggests that I have an implied license for it... right? (And I did buy Voice Command 1.6 SmartPhone for my earlier S620, so I have probably double-paid for it anyway...)
So, how do I get that original piece of AT&T-installed software back on this device after having flashed Alex's ROM?
I just prefer MS Voice Command's ability to search Contacts by sound, over Cyberon Voice Commander's requirement to voice tag individual contacts.
Thanks
-Jay
Jay
I do not think that MSVC shipped with the Tilt
to put it on your Tilt, just install the 1.6 that you purchased. I have it and the other one on my phone. I don't find the Voice Commander to recognize my voice commands as well as MSVC.
Uh, I had some trouble getting it to work, and frankly, I'm not sure what I did to get it working. I did do these things:
I had installed the patched MSVC files. (search for VOICECOMMANDREPLACEMENTFILES )
I also installed the OEM_Assign_PTT_BUtton.cab, but I'm not sure it is necessary. I'd hold off on that until last resort.
Maybe it will work just by installing it, and the replacement files. I had installed the additional memmaid apps and uninstalling them was one thing I did too.
Sorry, I can't be more exact.
Thanks, that did get Voice Command on and mostly in place of Cyberon Voice Commander. Still working on getting the bluetooth headset button to launch Voice Command.

The launch wiht the BT headset was exactly what I had problems with. Again, I got it working, but sadly, I don't know how.
My MSVC worked straight after install..except that I do not get a call waiting tone after installation. Nobody seems to have a fix...2 of my friends with kaisers all have the same problem and we all have different roms.
This thread really worked for me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337501
There are two versions of MSVC in the forum and they both have the same version number. I found that it was impossible to get the 4MB variant to work even with the regedits. (This is the version that you have to go into Programs and enable/save/ etc.) The other variant is only 3MB and has worked on every ROM I have installed it to using the directions in the above thread and no regedits are required.
Hope this helps...
