I am currently using C_ShekharAKU7.0c.R40.P24_public ROM which I feel is ROCK SOLID AND STABLE .....however there is scope for improvement and bro it would be a big fovour if you can make following changes to the ROM:

Most of the ROM support the extended battery of the backpack.
The original drivers for the vga-card work, just install.
The CF-Slot will never work, due to leak of working WM5/6 drivers.

I need to use JAVA software on this PDA but JAVA is supporte only on WM5 and WM6, I know.

1. Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:
DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton
After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.
2. Run TofClock_HIMA_WM6_AKU.0.7.exe then click install, Wait till finish.
3. Hard reset your pda.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.

Download my modified theme - DarkVisions. It's almost the same, as HTC default, but with added wallpaper with HTC logo.
helmi_c i found a little problem with this rom of yours which ur previous rom didnt had. HTC Kaiser's 10buttons Comm Manager worked perfectly in ur pervious WM6 rom but in this doesnt even get installed. When i install it it gives me following error:
"Installing was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."

hehe.. well actually i found that Comm Manager of Touch & Kaiser to be v.cool looking and it matches all the look of HTC Home & stuff.. so i use to use it.. it worked perfectly in helmi's last released rom but for some strange reason fails to install in this one. Do you know what the problem could be?

hey i managed to install it
you just have to make sure that that the current comm manager & the Network Wizard arent running. Kill those processes from task manager b4 proceeding ur install.

Touchflo does not start until you launch it.
AND
It gets disabled once you soft reset your device. So it should not be any hurdle in my opinion.
that i know..but what i meant is that the Config file is already in the windows directory..so the Cubes donot overright the config file which confuses both the apps and neither of them work....
I've not yet tried shekhar's or this efsane wm6.1 ROM (BTW thanks a lot you both and those who've helped you) but I do agree with ather that (F)Touchlo(like) tools should not be part of a ROM. I like my Windows folder as clean as possible. I don't care about "wasted" ROM space.
OTOH I would like to see more RAMdisk space.

When you mentioned TouchFlo, is it the original TouchFlo or is it efrost's fTouchFlo?
I am using your rom and see that in the \windows folder fTouchFlo is there.
Another thing, if it is indeed efrost's fTouchFlo, which version did you include?
I am having trouble installing fTouchFlo v 1.4.1 because it says it cannot uninstall the previous installation.
Any suggestions as to how I can get around this?

agree it would be better without touchflo....maybe bundle touchflo as a cab file for those who want it, but many of us have our own interface requirements (eg pointui) in which case this is a waste of storage space and may cause conflicts.
so far its the only thing stopping me from installing 6.1

the best way to start is the WIKI..go there and read read until u drop..after that read the FAQ page for the Terms used here and then if u dont understand anything ask..as for upgrading the instructions are clearly given out with the ROM u download..

No special procedures. Just go to the bootloader mode (Press and hold Power+reset+Action buttons together) and flash it as you did before. Dont forget to do a hard-reset as instructed in the end.

-I installed tomtom but cannot get it navigate to the. It tried to launch tomtom but then hangs. Have to reset to get out of it.
-video is not working from manila.

Regards TomTom, if you are trying a "certain" ttn7.915.9196.qvga release then no it won't work, patch effects Footprint integration. Iolite included version and most other versions work fine, try TT7 910.9185.

When using Footprints it does not activate the GPS, instead it goes to the 3G network to search for position wasting my precious €...
Being connected to my wireless home network does not avoid that the phone tries to grab info from cell network if i check my emails. This never happened to me before on my previous pda's.
Any help would be great.

Footprints will search for your position using GPS and by cell network location. Even if it gets your co-ordinates from the GPS it will then contact a server to get the name of your location for the footprint's caption. It asked your permission to do this the first time you used it.
If you want to turn this off then go to the Settings Tab and tap Location.
how can we set it to take as default the integrated gps? 'cause mine is searching also through network (google) and I cannot see any option to set to gps. or, it takes automatically the gps, when we activate it?

How to get the Touch-IT Xperience:
Hard-SPL is needed if you wanna flash custom roms

My tips on how to flash a custom rom:
-Do not let battery be below 50%
-Keep the device on a secure location (so that it wont fall and loose connection to your pc during flash)
-Enter bootloader (rainbowscreen) pressing power button and volume down simultaneously (hold the buttons untill you enter bootloader)
-Connect to pc (activesync)
-Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow onscreen instructions

-Do a Hard-reset after flashing is done
-Wait with installing any apps/progs until you have tested the performance and stability of the rom.
-Tweaks and regedits are allready set to max up the performance, if you install tweaking cabs or other performance cabs, they might not
work well with this rom, and can ruin the performance of the rom.
-Before reporting bugs, try think before you post; is it related to something you have altered?
-Missing programs is not a bug. I do not wish to have comments on why this and that are missing. Get a cab..
More Info on v7.0:
-Opera that is cooked in is not supporting HW keyboard, install Opera from X1. But note that this will disable other functions like in.ex push internet.
-The HTC camera is set to 5mp res. Change this to 3, or else it wont work.
-Sollution to change right softkey found here
-Dialer do not have lanscape supported. This is because we dont have one that works with this manila.

Not to rain on anyones parade but can you tell us what bugs are fixed from 5.061?
I installed the 5.061 the other day and I reallt don't want to flash my phone again if "it aint worth it" if you know what I mean...
downloading as we speak. I doubt it can be better than 5.04 which is perfect, but I like surprises

I think there are some improvements.
Not sure, but I think the hardware rightkey works on Manila now in this version.

it also works with V5 after you copy one .dll file to win dir... anyone that can tell more improvements?

None, none at all.
Don't bother flashing it, it'll just waste your time, afterall it only took us a week of testing and re-testing to come up with it..
he he, that should cut down on the amount of "Bugs"
After all it can't possibly be faster & more stable can it?

oh yeah; but I think this has been fixed in this version right?
I've read somewhere that Itje said the V7 is based on a newer build which contains bugfixes from HTC itself, but he didn't say which "bugs" are fixed.
