Please help with shortcuts - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I see in the help section and on this board people say select menu than delete or menu then a keyboard letter.... And this is supposed to do shortcuts.
I have tried to push menu and a shortcut but it does not do anything. All it does is bring up the menu.
Any help?
Thanks

Request for menu sounds on WM6...noobish, I know...

Fellas,
I would like to have my menu sounds back for WM6. Obviously, they are missing. All I am talking about is the "click - clack" of the WIndows Start menu icon. Thanks in advance.
it was posted a few days ago...... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1107113&highlight=SOUND#post1107113

"Settings" button in WM menu has gone

Hey guys, I think I messed up a little my WM menu: I guess I deleted the shortcut in the menu which opened the settings (in my Italian ROM it's called "Impostazioni")...
You know... when you press "Start" you have "Today", a series of shortcuts and then "Programs" and "Settings"... my "Settings" item is no more there.
Do you know where/how to find/create it?
I hope the answer is very easy...
Thanks in advance,
Gian Paolo

Easy question about M2D

I recently installed a new ROM with M2D, and have a couple questions about it.
I was wondering if it was possible to disable the large finger-enabled menus. For instance under the messages tab, when you press "Menu" (in the bottom right) It pops up options in a fashion that it takes the entire screen up, allowing you to use your finger and forcing you to select an option before you can leave the menu.
Is there a way to get classic menus back with M2D?
Well firstly this is the wrong section to have posted this query, secondly i know about this and it doesnt force you to make an option, you just press menu again to get rid of it. have u actually tried that, nyways hope that helps

My fault as accidentally moved it here out of ROM Development "posted in wrong area" Mind you it's rather general
You can use advanced config to disable menu enhancements.

Remap keys on Touchwiz 4.0.4 ROM

Here's the idea:
I'd like to remap the keys in my N7K as follows:
-Long press home button for search
-Press current menu button for multitasking (show open apps)
-Long press current menu button for menu option.
The others would operate the way they do currently.
Any kind person could help with this? Thank you in advance!
Nothing close to this has been done yet..
However something similar is possible with using the app called home2shortcut
U will havve to delete the voice apk from your system/app to get this working..
the options u will get are
assign homme long press
assign home press followed by menu and
assign home press followed by back...
So kind of getting 3 additional hardware buttons.

Thanks! I'm trying to avoid clicking the home button as much as possible. Thus trying to replace long press home button by the menu button.

Not sure how that relates to my question. Checked the app and it seems all it does is add notification toggles just like it's name implies. That's not what my question is about but thanks!
