Zombie, Run! - G1 Apps and Games

(number one - make sure and enable satellite view in Maps before running it)
Now this is a hell of an idea.
GOOD FUN, too. I turned it on before going into a crowded WalMart the other day. Looked like a madman but it totally enhanced my shopping experience.
Pulled it out again today at the park. Made the trip from the swingswt to the car more fun, (and also the drive home, even though you kinda hope for the best as you can't swerve).
What I'd want added to it?
> networking for multiplayer (which I bet the developer already has in mind)
> the ability to add customer map overlays. As in, I screenshot the fire escape map at work and overlay it to the white roof of the building. (or with walmart even).

i have this game installed but i haven't had the chance to try it out yet, will do so tomorrow morning. all the comments i read about it are very positive tho.

I like the general idea of the game, and last night my buddy and i got uber baked and started running around the apartment complex trying to play.
seems at least in my coverage area the GPS is not very accurate.
got my exercise though.

I think I lost 20 pounds playing this the other night lol

This game is crazy and fun,but u have to have an imagination to really enjoy which i have lol! Let me explain this a little better, the first time I got this game to run I was on the bus and when it found my location I was in the middle of the bus and right when I picked my destination and the game started my phone vibrated shwing a zombie right near me,so I turn to my right reall slowly and grill this old man sitting next to me and then I get up and move to the front of the bus to get away and survive lol! It's not till the bus starts moving that I realize im getting away from the zombie and it had nothing to do with my position on the bus but where I was on the street lol!

I'd love to have this.

Someone should make a Layar of this!

Flyer- first 3D game in marketplace

Hey all, I recently posted a game utilizing the 3D capabilities of the G1 to the Marketplace called Flyer.
It's a game where you fly around as a jet and try to destroy enemy jets.
It's currently in a very early build but is up so I can get feedback now, when it's easy to change things.
How to play:
Hold the phone sideways in front of you(in landscape mode)
Tilt left/right to roll
Tilt up/down to pull up or down
Press trackball to fire machinegun
Of Note:
Enemies are currently just green boxes but do behave somewhat intelligently
You can't die yet
Next Release:
Main Menu
Possibly a death sequence
Let me know what you think of it!
Don't listen to the market comment goons, this shows a lot of potential. Keep it up!
yea...the market goons are worthless...come here for the "real" comments.
keep up the good work.
i think more than half the comments i see in the market come from 16 yr old. i like this game
This game shows a lot of potential, the market people who comment are idiots who say first all the time
Is the game good? No, it's pretty much terrible.
Does it have potential? **** yeah.
Graphics for sure, enemy planes, I would make the view in 3rd person, and show a small jet instead of cockpit view. Keep up the good work, it'll get there.
Just got my G1 like 5 hours ago (After a curfuffle with a postman xD) This was one of the first Apps I downloaded to test the accellerometer and it's frickin awesome! Sure way to kill 10 minutes or so, and yeah it has potential. Maybe a Gyro to show your current heading could be added, that way I can tell if i'm upside down or not!
Could you integrate google satellite view into it?
i suspect that would slow it down, but would make it way fun.
either more targets, or more maze like capabilities.
right now it's very flight simulatorish.
God you wanna talk about a little curfluffle with the postman to get it? FedEx was supposed to deliver mine on New Years eve and the delivery man filed that the road was blocked. I called their headquarters, raised hell about it, they checked into it, he changed it to local holiday (meaning a business was closed for delivery) on a residential shipment. They finally made him come back (which was an extra 30 minutes both ways) and deliver it. He refused to even drive all the way down my driveway, he parked halfway down and stood next to the truck until I walked up to get it from him. The lesson of this story, if you're a delivery man and wanna go out and party on new years eve, do your freakin job first or else it'll just cost you more time.
You have done a great job man! Increadible potential. Atleast we can see that 3d is on its way! Keep up the good job. Afterall bding games takes hundreds of people some time so you've a great job!

Majesty: Fantasy Kingdom Sim - check it out

Ran across this last night perusing the Market with 'AppBrain' - a market overlay app which suggests favourties.
It's a God game, fantasy setting. There are a series of scenarios and the premise is that each time you must build up a little town, hiring Rangers, Warriors, Wizards and Paladins to stave off a variety of monsters and achieve an objective.
This is a professional quality game and looks excellent. The U.I. is easy to pick up, gameplay (at least as far as I've got) is balanced and fun and it's pretty addictive.
If you like this sort of game or even if you are just curious, go download it now before they bump the price up - introductory price was just $1 last night! Go get it before it inevitably becomes HOT!!!
**Edit: Correction it was UK 99pence so about $1.60 or so. Still an absolute steal, this game is a real gem. I got through another couple of levels today and it still doesn't disappoint. Not sure how many levels there are but I will definitely go back and re-play several after I get through them. It does add challenge and strategy in appropriate amounts: I failed one particularly fiendish level two or three times before figuring out a strategy that works and I'm still learning as I play. There's also online play apparently - presumably head-to-head, I haven't tried it yet. Fun, fun, fun!
Oh and I have no affiliation with the game whatsoever - never even heard of the development company before - I'm just a long time (semi-lapsed) gamer finding a good fix and wanting to share.
This stupid thing has me gaming again as well for the first time in ages, hooked on dungeon defenders. I'll give this one a try when I get home tonight, thanks for the tip!
Just bought it, unfortunatly the price is already up to 3 something USD.
Edit: Pretty fun, I didn't pick it up too fast, but its well made, and looks like it should be fun so I'll keep it. Thanks for pointing this out.
Good game. I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Thanks for the recommend.
Just installed it, paid $3+ (charges in euro by the way) graphics looks good... will spend a day or two till I decide if it's worth it or not.
But for those who want to get a pretty exciting game, try dungeon defenders. installed it and so far that game is so great! nice well done graphics! got in on sale for 99cents..dont know how much will it cost now, but trust me, it's worth it!
Finally finished Majesty last night, eight scenarios in all though the map where you select scenarios looks like more were intended. Perhaps content that was unfinished at release, perhaps a paid expansion. I will be re-playing all of them with the knowledge I have gained and I am sure they will be rather easier the second time through.
Each scenario is different and each has an amusing little story to set it up. As you progress you get access to Elf and Dwarf allies, though not both at the same time of course. In some scenarios you do not have access to one or more of your troop types.
I would have liked a few (2-4) more scenarios but even at $3-ish I would still consider it a good purchase. The two enhancements I would really like to see are adjustable difficulty levels and a free play mode using a random map selection and perhaps allowing the enemies to re-build their generators (buildings) after you have destroyed them.
Still a fun little game with great production value! I would happily pay a couple more bucks for an expansion.
Dungeon Defenders is up to $4.99 now I'm afraid, wish I could have found that when it was 99 cents. Maybe if they have another sale... I wish Marketplace would let me set up a watch list for software I am interested in but not wanting to buy right now.
Happy gaming!
I don't know for sure but I think this is based on the old PC game majesty. It certainly reminds me of it.
There was a sequel to that, so maybe we'll get more.

What was your strategy to the last stage Dragon Hazard that can only be unlocked when beating all the other stages with GOLD status?
Actually, I only unlocked the Dragon level very recently.
I have not been able to beat it yet - haven't upgraded my g tab install of Majesty in a while so I'm still playing without the difficulty levels. (By choice)
The best approach I have found so far is strategically placed Dwarven towers - North, South, East and West - supplemented with Necros and Warriors, but I've only been able to get through the first couple of waves of Dragons. They just keep on coming and if you don't kill them quickly, they accumulate and take out your defenses. The waves of Undead and the Harpies just add to your woes.
- Necros are invaluable for the 'Wither' spell and their lifetaps
- Dwarven towers are necessary to hold the Dragons away from your other buildings: a Dwarven tower is about on par with one Dragon and is superior to a Wither'd Dragon; two Dragons however will make mincemeat of a tower pretty quickly
- The other trick seems to be getting your warriors leveled and upgraded to the point where they can actually take and dish some damage to augment the towers. Aggressive expansion early on helps.. I think getting more money to hero's early on (by setting easy cash objectives) might help also.
The problem is that once your initial crop of heroes starts getting killed or one of your towers gets taken out, you are pretty much screwed.
If you figure out more, please let me know.
good game 10 char

Kona's crate!

today's free app on the amazon appstore, reg. 2.99
http://www.amazon.com/Indie-Pub-Kon...1?ie=UTF8&s=mobile-apps&qid=1308836700&sr=1-1
One of the professors at my college (RIT) made it, I've been beta testing it for a few months back when it was called blocks, and it's a really well made game. Get it today while it's free! Or wait, support a developer working on a professor's salary
Nice, I'm an RIT alum!
I have a bunch of games on my Tbolt even though I'm not much of a game player. You know, the ones you "have" to have like Angry Birds (why are those birds so angry anyway?).
So I took a flier on Kona's Crate today, seeing as how the price is right. And you know, it's pretty fun! The graphics are great and it's kind of addictive. I was playing on my lunch hour and before I knew it, time was up. Keeping that thing stable and upright while navigating the obstacles is kind of maddening. You keep saying, "Ok, one more time. Ok, one more time."
Thanks, I was thinking about downloading it. I will give it a shot now.
Good thing you posted this because when I saw it I initially dismissed it as it seemed "meh" from the icon on Amazon. I'm def. gonna download it now as after looking at the screenshots it seems fun!
It is fun but once you touch a wall and the crate it off center its a major pain, and like major said "just one more time"

Pick-A-Cup, any Cup [Free, no Ads]

I finally got my first WP7 App released and accepted today, "Pick-A-Cup". I used to develop for iOS & Android as well as BlackBerry but now officially and 100% WP7.
Ever been to New York City? You know the infamous table game, but you may know it a little better as "Pick a Cup, any Cup. Winner Win's All, find the ball and win it all!". Yeah, the creepiest guy's offering you the chance to win and make your odds nearly IMPOSSIBLE, but now no more creeps and actual odds you can win!
3-Cup's to pick, and choose the right one, and you win! However, these street hustlers are rough, you'll never get to 100 Point's unless you play wise, otherwise? You'll get robbed before you hit 100 and along the way, see the rude comments these guy's have to say to scare you away.
The new 1.1/1.2 Edition(s) will have:
Voice - Get slammed verbally by the App!
Hard Mode - Depending on how you play, you can actually get robbed before even making it to 5 Points. You'll have to be skilled on how you play and what cups you choose.
Animations (1.2)- Get the real feel of where you are and have a real 3D Person (Developed in Poser) who's the dealer talk to you (verbal only if enabled).
Soundtrack(1.1)/My Track(1.2) - Play with the built-in soundtrack or play the music on your phone.
Sound - With music playing, get the noise from the streets!
Real World Mode (1.3b)- Forget the basic cup's, have a real 3D person and people watching as you stand and play in a real world mode.

Kinect? Worth it?

In a bit of a quandry as the Kinect's are on sale at Best Buy for $99 and I feel like Im burning a hole in my pocket. Anyone use this frequently? Worth it? I have my daughter every other weekend and she uses the Wii like crazy but I'm wondering about the adult applicability factor.
Played it a few times at a friends house and I like the bowling on it way better than the Wii. In my opinion it is worth it so long as you are getting a compatible game with it or you already have a game that works with it
For kids - probably great.. for adults? Depends on what kind of games you're into. If you're into the dance dance etc. games... probably awesome. If you're into FPS' and the like, probably a dud..
My kids like it but I have yet to play it. My wife did right after we got it and it damn near gave her a heart attack. When I helped them set it up it seemed like it was having difficulty tracking them. We got a new tv and I need to move the sensor up, hopefully that will help. Also, when our dogs happen to walk in front of them it screws up the tracking as well.
I've heard reports of people having to move the TV in their room because there wasn't enough space in front of the camera for it to work properly, and I've also heard that you need a tidy room as too much clutter can confuse it.
Video games are meant to played in a sitting position with a bag of Doritos (other ****ty tortilla based snacks are available) on your lap....
Shame on you people with your desire to move and stuff.......
There seem to be more promising games coming. The favorite at our house with Kinect is the Dance Central games. Rise of Nightmares looks pretty cool, and I never buy games like that.
I love it and i am 24
Just make sure you get kinect sport, kinect sports season 2 and fruit ninja
Those are the best games for it
I also like being able to talk to my xbox and browse hulu plus and netflix via voice and hand gestures and telling my xbox to shut down.
I think its worth it and is great to play with your friends.
keep checking sites like AMAZON....price drops all the time....
Anyone knows pc games that support kinect device by factory? I have read something about drivers that allow kinect to use it as input device or mouse for paint and general pointing actions but i don't know it about gaming use for example C.O.D. III
NickFee
I own one and... that's great! Btw more and more cool games are out
For me just singleplayer gamer is kinect useless but playing with friends is totaly best
