Pandora on Fuze soon: The LG Incite seems to have it! - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Am I reading right?
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=LG+INCITE&q_sku=sku3140220
This says the new LG Incite has an official Pandora app. Don't know if it's free or not, but it would be cool to have.
I'm sure it will be ported soon.

its a streaming music site that can figure out songs and artists you would like by others you like
its very nice

Wish I had seen this tread before to returned the Incite
I got one last nite and hated it after being on the Fuze, Returned it today for another Fuze. I did notice there was an app called pandora but i did not try it and can only confirm it's there.
Cheers

Meh. what a rip off.

Pandora does not work on the fuze. I found that odd because it worked on my Epix. You get a 2 dy trial. It was a great app just like the PC version of Pandora, album art and all. Good sound quality. The fe thing is for Pandora. They charge a yry subcription.
I'd rather pay for the XM app than Pandora though.

there was a way to get the xm app and the mobi tv app free on qvga winmo
i have to assume someone will figure out how to get pandora working for us but yes 9 bucks is crazy

All this talk about the incite being the first WinMo device with Pandora is false. I have the Samsung Epix and it has Pandora on it.

No you don't. Trust me on that. XM Mobile ≠ XM Satellite Radio.

This worked for me - http://www.everythingq.com/forum/software/pandora-942-4.html#post272051

I've got Pandora working just fine on my Fuze - granted, it's just the QVGA version, so the screen is REALLY small, but I can login with my normail Pandora account like I would at my PC. Since I'm on an unlimited data plan, there are no additional charges.

Music ID...iphone identifies song playing through mic...is kaiser capable too?

http://www.tuaw.com/2008/01/07/make-your-iphone-listen-to-your-radio-and-tell-you-whats-pla/
came across this...it would be really nice if there is an app like this for the Kaiser, or Windows Mobile to where i can just launch the app, put it near where the music is being played, and it will identify it.
There is, A app named Music ID (Originaly from the AT&T Tilt).

In the UK you can dial 2580 from your mobile and put the phone mic to the music source. About 30 seconds later you get a text with all the song info.
http://www.shazam.com/music/portal
There must be other services like this.
I love how it was such a big deal when the iPhone became capable of this.
Even crappy motorola phones have done this for years.
would be cool for tilt
If you are an AT&T subscriber, you just dial #43 from your phone.
There is a charge for the service.

I don't personally have this service, so I can't give you any more info, but you can check out the link.

anyway to get it working with WiFi though?
If it comes standard on the Tilt maybe someone can compile a cab?
It'd be great if it could run off WiFi, Canada data is expensive!

The software is free. The service is not. For instance, if you're an AT&T customer, I believe there is a $3.99 per month fee for the service and you can look up as many songs as you want.

This software is handy piece of software...I'm amazed at how it can identify songs by listening to them!
I'm a bit confused about how this is supposed to be a service that you have to pay for. I am not an AT&T costumer and I can use this software on my TyTN II over GPRS or wifi to identify music. How is it that they charge me for this service?

[REQ] real XM stream app. Not att one

Hey ive been searching around and haven't found anything close to what im looking for. Basicly i just want an app to stream XM sat radio that just uses data and dosen't charge for anything else.
I have an XM account so yeah thats not an issue.
*I did notice a old xm app but it was from late 2006 i think so it didnt seem like it would work to well with the current set up, or if it will even run at all.*

Go to http://www.musicdock.com on your phone, then enter in your XM info and you're good to go!
I don't have XM. But I use SelectRadio for Sirius. It's not free but it's great. The program streams all XM channels, too. It saves your login info so you just click a channel and go.
Now, as far as security goes, I don't know what's happening inside the program. For instance, I'm not sure how SelectRadio bypasses the captcha image that I have to enter with SiriusWM5 or when I stream online.

dont copy pay ones when theres free ones out

Yeah sorry check that rather get it free. not using an att rom.
This program is frustrating.. Even the trial version only works in 3-4 bar environments and Wifi.. Have they not heard of buffering songs/data before playing or offering the option? Lame..
I downloaded this .cab http://mq.roeiboot.com/apps/pandora.cab from this link http://blogs.msdn.com/aniyer/archive/2008/12/16/pandora-on-windows-mobile.aspx and while the buttons are tiny and it's slightly hard to use, it works perfectly on my verizon TP over my data connection.
I already had an established pandora account and it's always been free to use, I don't know why it'd be any different for anyone else.
well, works perfectly is a hasty statement. it seems to cut off at the end of each song and take a while to load the next song.
you also can't sleep the screen and leave the music playing.
edit: also it doesn't show up in the HTC task manager.
It works on my X1, the buttons are very small, And it takes a long time to skip to the next song, if you leave it going there is no lag between songs. But i can turn of my screen and still have the music going. Love it so very much

AT&T and Pandora have a deal together that you need a subscription for it to work. Not sure why that's really fair considering its still free for the iphone. Here's part of the e-mail I got after starting my "free trial" using the cab from pandora.com/att:
Thanks for trying out Pandora on your AT&T Windows Mobile Phone. We're contacting you to let you know that your free trial will expire on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. If you'd like to continue listening to Pandora on your AT&T Windows Mobile Phone, you can subscribe to Pandora for $8.99 a month. We hope you'll stick around!

There's no way I'm going to pay $8.99 for this.
I downloaded the pandora.cab from ppc geeks and the one you referenced, and it works without a subscription on my AT&T Touch Pro but the UI is terrible for VGA. The buttons and images are all out of place, and I have to use the stylus to click and sometimes have to click somewhere other than the label. Its pretty frustrating.
the ui is annoying but you can use the buttons as well theres instructions at ppc geeks

That is true, there are actually 2 TV apps in the market. SPB TV and Television. Both of them are HORRIBLE. I mean seriously, who in the US is interested in Al Jazeerah TV? or the christian programming channel? C'mon. Those apps have the worst channels I've seen. with like 10 24 hour news channels in all sorts of languages. I guess if you have nothing better to do it is worth turning on, but not paying for it.
This is just an opinion from a new yorkers POV

EyeTV is an USB TV Tuner for Mac and‚ (possibly PC) that allows you to watch TV on your computer. The iphone app appears to stream data from your computer to your iphone rather than streaming directly from an internet feed. So although this is very useful, it is probably slightly different to what you're looking for.
In the UK we have a decent BBC TV app which will stream over wifi and 3G (dependent on your provider).
Hmmmmm anyone tried streaming over the web from Hulu or fancast...... both are free.
Edit
ooops both need flash to work. I guess we will have to wait for the long awaited plugin promised by Adobe

You install the Orb server software on your home PC, as well as a TV tuner card. The orb server software is able to stream the tv signal from the tuner card over the internet via .3gp to your phone. Check out their website and search for "android orb" in google. There's tons of threads about it.

Heard back from Sling today on an Android app and they basically said no way it's happening because Android is Linux based and not windows based. Here is the email I got:
As we understand, you want to know if the Slingbox will support the Android Operating System and Mobile device any time soon. We will be more than willing to assist you.
Android is a software platform and operating system for mobile devices, based on the Linux Operating System, developed by Google and later the Open Handset Alliance. It allows developers to write managed code in a Java-like language that utilizes Google-developed Java libraries, but does not support programs developed in native code.
Most of the supported cell phones run on Windows OS. Since Android runs on Linux OS, it is not compatible with the SlingPlayer. Therefore, Slingbox will not support it.
If you require further assistance, feel free to visit http://support.slingmedia.com or contact us at 1-877-GO-SLING (877-467-5464) Monday through Sunday 7am-7pm Pacific Time.

Chromecast + NFL Sunday Ticket (from Madden 25)...this could rock

So I don't know how many of you are big NFL fans like me, but if you are then there's a chance that you may have heard about the special edition of Madden NFL 25 that is currently available for preorder on Amazon. With this $99 edition, you of course get the game, but in addition you get a code for complete access to the online streaming version of NFL Sunday Ticket (all games, just as the normal DirecTV version would have), and you don't have to be a DirecTV subscriber to use it.
Anyways, I bought the special edition and will have it the end of August when it is released. All along I planned to simply bring my iMac into the living room, connect it with HDMI adapter cable, and watch the games that way. However, it looks like I've stumbled on a great setup - just have to fire up the Chrome on the iMac in the home office, Chromecast it in full screen to the livingroom, and boom, NFL Sunday Ticket on TV for 40 bucks! Absolutely can't wait to the first week of September to try this out!!! :good::good:
I considered this but Chromecast makes the alternative more enticing

I think he's talking about casting some OTHER content from the web to his TV. The 18+ kind....
But I definitely like your idea better. Myself, I am a MLB.TV subscriber and anxiously awaiting my CC :good:
He could also be referring to unofficial streaming video sites. That's how I watch the occasional Pats game when I'm not home. Not the best quality of course. Thanks to @joeski27 by the way. Hadn't heard about this special edition of Madden. I'll definitely take a look.

Well yeah, I mean I think we all know that all the porn fans will totally dig CC, that's a given. I was just pointing out another very cool idea for CC use...he might as well have popped into this thread and said "the NFL thing sounds cool, but my love of watching storm chaser videos on YouTube is so much more enticing"...what's the point? All I was doing was putting out what I thought to be a nifty idea specifically regarding NFL games. Anyways, good call on your end as well with the MLB idea, and eventually the same will be true for those who subscribe other major sports packages (NHL, NBA, etc) which allow subscribers to view content online. Really the YouTube/Netflix/etc. is the tip of the iceberg, and I think will be greatly overshadowed by many options to come for this device.

I did the same thing for many games the last couple of years (though my brother in law let me use his DirecTV password for online content when his father wasn't using it). This time I'm not messing around and decided that for the $40 extra with the Madden game I would guarantee myself every single game in reliably high quality...but now with CC it takes this plan concept to the next level, and for cheap. I know that if you look at the Madden 25 reviews on Amazon (not really reviews since it isn't out yet, just comments about the package really), the #1 thing people want to know is if they can stream the games from their PC/Mac to their PS3. Turns out the universal answer is a big fat no, meaning that - until now - they were stuck having to go with a hardwired PC-to-TV connection, which I resigned to doing for this upcoming season. I hadn't even thought about that aspect before buying my CC, but now that I have it it seems like extremely sweet icing on the cake for me!
Good looking out, I just now preordered that and I hate sports video games. Anyone want a copy of Madden 25 Anniversary edition that is only missing the NFL Sunday Ticket code? lol.
I'm not familiar with enough the CC on what limits and what kind of videos that it can play. I ordered one, but it was after the initial batch was sold out. I work nights, so I was asleep during the initial announcement.
I'm not sure if MLB will work. I know they use Flash Player, but it does some quirky stuff.
As for the rest, they could work. For those that have used these services, you know what you're getting. I personally use the international version of these service with a VPN. Then I can always be out of whatever market is being blacked out; it's nice to be "in" a different country for those national broadcasts. Personally, I've been using a HTPC for a few years, so this device is going to replace anything and will be more limited than the HTPC. I think it could be interesting see what people can do with it. May make it easier for those temporary setups at others' homes.
On a side note, the international NFL online service is free for those in the Netherlands, which normally runs around $200 to $250. Additional $50 for playoffs. I think they PS3/DirectTV thing runs a little over $300 if you don't have DIrectTV and Sunday Ticket. I don't know the cost if you already do and just want PS3 or mobile access, but I would assume more than $40.
MLBtv works just fine on CC. Tested it last night. For unofficial streams, first row worked really well too. I watched NFL Network using my CC for about an hour last night.

First row sports is actually illegal, but I've used it for a couple years since I dropped cable.

Same here. I'm surprised I didn't know about this sooner. I don't have either game console. I'll be looking to sell the game, so hit me up if you want it cheaper than $60

I use the NFL Game Pass service. It's a service that's available outside the USA and it's territories. Not all geographical regions, such as Canada, have it available, but Europe does. Here are some video comparisons of the NFL Game Pass versus local cable TV.
The nice thing about the NFL Game Pass, they have an Android app that lets you watch the live and replays, and also the NFL Network. You just have the get APK from someone outside the USA since Google changed how the store checks where you, so MarketEnabler doesn't work now. Maybe they'll update the app for CC. That would be interesting and cool.
They nice thing about the Game Pass service, the quality of service is more reliable and consistent. I've used sites like FrontRow, and you just never know what quality your'e going to get. The big knock, you need to get a VPN service which can run additional $8 to $15 a month on top of the cost of the service. And with VPNs and sports, you definitely want a paid VPN so you have enough bandwidth. For me, since I cut the cord and watch sports all year round, it's something I use almost everyday, so it pays for itself.
I've been using alternatives to watch sports for going on three years. So, I'm pretty familiar with how to get most sports and with good quality. I use both the PC and Android mobile devices..
New NFL Game Pass app
I have been having so much fun with my NFL GamePass app. Until they updated the app. When I opened it this afternoon, a message said it required an update from the store. Of course, I can't go to the UK play store for the new app.
Sux!!!
Maybe someone across the pond can post the new app apk? That would be lovely.

Actually, you can asssuming you have downloaded it from Google Play before. If so, open Google Play, go to your apps, then All (next to installed), and just scroll down till you hit NFL Game Pass. And they now it where it's one app for both phones and tablets. The new version is needed to see the games, but NFL Network still works on the old (it works on the new one too).
This could be very interesting, my concern would be this statement, "For fans who are not currently DirecTV subscribers but are able to receive DirecTV service, they will receive a promo code entitling them to $10 off per month for their first year of service and one year of NFL Sunday Ticket Max at no additional charge."
How do they determine if you can receive the service? Or just a matter of BSing
still no
I didn't download it from the store originally because I couldn't get into the UK store last week. I was able to put it on my ipad thpugh. I'll just wait amd see when someone uploads the new apk.
