My Kaiser works on every SimCard in my country, so simlock is unlocked.

Should i instal HardSPL before flashing?

You need to read the wiki - The clue is in your bootloader info that you've posted
Don't flash anything until you understand what you are doing and know what information you're looking for.
Your device is already HARD_SPLed, meaning: you can flash any ROM!
However,
Mikeapollo is right, you do have to do some reading first, so, that you won't screw up your device! Start here (scroll down to ROM UPGRADING). I hope that gets you started?

I purchased this orbit from ebay.
Here is the information of my ppc:
IPL 3.04.0001
ROM version: black&blue v4.2 WWE
ROM date: 7/10/2007
Radio version: 02.98.90
protocol version: 4.1.13.47
My questions are:
1. Is the phone CID unlocked? So I can install any version?
2. If I want to upgrade this version, where and how to do it?
3. Lots of people say that I have to downgrade my IPL to 1.1, otherwise I can not perform the previous two actions.
I just get confused. The seller said that he has flashed the phone. If the CID is locked, how could he do that. But the IPL version is higher. How can he flash the phone without downgrade IPL?
I am very new to ppc. The current rom seems a little bit slow. Any other recommended?
Any help is appreciated.

the ORBIT isn´t a WIZARD, right?
so you´re in the wrong forum.
to flash a rom there are several ways, you don´t have to unlock the cid.
hard spl, soft spl, don´t know what works on the ORBIT (is the ORBIT the HTC ARTEMIS? sorry don´t know)

For Artemis it's called USPL.
When you're booting your phone there should be SPL 1.11, then it's CID unlocked.
If you're unsure, just run USPL again and everything is fine
Ok, so I have been reading through the forum and the wikis. I think I am more or less now ready to unlock and flash my phone with the latest rom. Just a few questions before just to make sure I got it all right before I do anything and completely kill the phone. The PDA I have is from an Orange UK contract.
WM 6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Operator Version 24.181.1.612
Rom Version 1.81.61.2 WWE
Radio Version: 1.27.14.32
Protocol Version: 22.45.88.07H
So step 1) Install HardSPL (kaiser-HardSPLv1.zip, is the latest version right?)
Step 2) Run Kaiser SIM/CID Unlocker & Changer (latest version is 2)
Step 3) Install the new Rom (3.03.405.0 (Radio 1.64.06.04) updated original WWE)
Step 4) Do a Hardreset
So if I follow this process, with the help of the wikis it will unlock my phone and allow me to install the latest rom? Could you also tell me if I am running a correct version of Windows because I read somewhere I have to downgrade to version 6.0. Secondly, is the rom I have chosen above the correct one for my PDA? basically just follow post 3...once u do it once right u will do it more often and get used to it...the first time i had to read over the steps a few times just to familiarize myself with it..now its just download the rom and flash away...
in case u do flash more...u dont need to hardspl each time...once is good for life
thanks for that link. I read through it before my post. So do I just need to run HardSPL once and then flash the new rom. Or do I also require to run the SIM/CID unlocker changer as well?

k thanks, the way I have understood is that HARDSPL will do a CID unlock (not a sim, if I am not mistaken) and I will just have to use the SIM unlocker to sim free the device. Then off to flashing the rom with the version I described above.
its a bit more complicated with an orange phone mate. You have to SIM unlock it first to flash with a different radio and if you flash to WM6.1 you need a compatible radio...
sim unlocking is not that complicated and I managed it with the details on this forum, there is a bit thread about it somewhere...
Got my orange kaiser in the afternoon, by early evening I had unlocked, flashed, new radio and was happy.
The actual process of flashing a new ROM is pretty simple when you have done it once.
right, having a read through this "Guide on how to unlock an Orange TYTN II by UKBATMAN" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357592&highlight=orange) It says "use OliPro's SIM/CID Unlocker or Jockyw2001's SIM Unlocker". I have already downloaded OliPro's latest version so I am assuming I can just run this application and it will sim/cid unlock my phone?

it seems you have a device g4 on hard or soft spl?
check the IPL and SPL info And repost it please if it is Soft spl you spl must shows X.XX.0001
but... if your device is hardSPL your spl info shows you X.XX.Olip

I assume you want to get the device ready for WARRANTY RETURN? You should:
1. - Reflash your device with the ORIGINAL SHIPPED ROM
2. - Undo the HARD-SPL, regarding to your Info above it is still HARD_SPLed.

and adding to what Junner2003 said to get the right spl for your shipped rom use nbextract to rip the spl out of the shipped rom and flash that to your device using sspl or jumpspl.

All, need help quick as my phone needs to go into repair tomorrow (Vibration not working). I have followed the instructions to get original UK (Sim free) ROM back on and the original stock SPL.
Can someone confirm that I got the correct "stuff" on my phone before it goes to SE. I'm worried that I got some other ROM or version on there and they just end up rejecting it.

I'm hoping it is because I'd like to flash the TouchIT rom, but following the instructions on how to backup a rom confuse me somewhat.
